Wildcat you talk bollocks, do you have a problem with the Irish or something? Or can St Henry (the cheating scumbag) do no wrong in your eyes?
Wildcat!
20-11-2009, 01:46 AM
What's that, you say? Sorry, but that hole you have dug is quiet deep, and all I can hear is echoes.
Of course it matters if it's a world cup final. Are you undergoing lobotomy or something? Of course it happens but it should not happen. Not in this day and age.
Even if you support Henry, the fact that you want us to accept it with dignity is somewhat hilarious, and shows a complete lack of understanding of the concept of dignity on your part.
Nobody will remember this just the bitter fans? There is a little concept in our world called history, you know. People remember and communicate history. This won't be forgotten, like it or not.
This has nothing to do with us being Irish. This has nothing whatsoever to do with race. I'm not asking for a replay. I'm not asking for an overhaul of FIFA management. But the mere fact that he wont admit it was deliberate controlling of the ball, which it was, shows a complete lack of character and honesty on his part. You sure do have some funny ****ing role models.
Is that why it's making the news all over the world? If you like Henry, fair enough, but comments like these are going to give people the impression that your a ****ing moron.
YOu think your sad insults are gonna change the facts, that France have advanced to the world cup, and you havent. GO ahead and insult away, if it makes you feel any better. Actually, go join the idiotic I hate Henry FB pages, thats a good therapy session for you.
And no, no one is gonna remember Ireland getting knocked out of the qualifying for the world cup by a controversial goal, like it or not. You probably will, but most people in the world wont!
Henry didnt do it on purpose, he handled it, but he didnt mean to. Accept, or dont, it wont change a damn thing.
Again Get OVER it (of course you wont, but oh well)!
And you talking like I give a **** how it reflects on me! Bitch please!

People will remember this. And people do care about this. And not just the Irish. The fact that your not willing to accept this is hilarious.
If only the Irish cared, why has it made international news all over the world? Can you give me a straight answer to that?

Of course it will make the news, just like all the games on the last day of the WC qualifying make the news. Of course it will be on the highlights . Portugal advancing also made the news wordwide, so did all the other teams who played yesterday. In a couple of weeks, no one will give a damn, or even remember it, like I said before, apart from you guys!! The only thing we will remember, are the teams still in the competition.
Also that Henry is a Legend, with great class.

Things happen like this in football all the time, although somthing needs to be done (and probably will now) i cant see them over ruling the desicion as it goes back on everything they stand for.
As for ireland being minutes away from maybe going to the world cup, there was still a pretty good chance they wernt..

But did they prompt international debate? Or make the front pages of the sports sections? Or get such column inch in countries that don't even give two ***** about soccer? Stop comparing it to any old ****ing match coverage. Why does it bother you so much? Do you have a hard on for Henry or do you simply hate all cultures and opinions that are not yours? I get that impression from your posts in other topics, too.

The only thing they can ever review in football if they decide to are maybe missed calls like the ball going over the line or not. Thats it!

Right Ben, you obviously didn't watch the match or hear from people who've commented on how deserving Ireland were of the victory... even french people have accepted this.
And he didn't just handle it - he Deliberately handled it and then celebrated the goal, and then refused to apologize for it in his press conference. He actually laughed off the suggestion that he should have told the ref, basically passingthe blame onto the shoulders of the officials.
And that's the captain of France talking and basically condoning cheating on live television!! He's an absolute moron and he's disgraced the game.

People dont often when they dive get a penalty score and go through to like the fa cup final or somthing...until prompted by their agents...
As for the newspapers, they print it because its something big to talk about its gunna start talks, but weather people really mind (outside Ireland).. is a diffrent matter.

And I've said before that we wouldn't celebrate it. We're the fairest set of supporters in the world and we can't stand cheating in any form. If Keane did something as blatant as that we'd go nuts.
As for Henry not stating immediately what he'd done...... he's an idol and ambassador for the sport, who's always tried to promote fair play and sportsmanship. Do you want to watch a game where people cheat to win? What kind of role models do you want in life?
And to make matters worse he didn't admit to it being intentional and also never apologized, basically laughing it off in his press conference. These actions are inexcusable.
In any other sport this would never have happened but of course football is still living in the dark ages so we've got to accept it. Laughable stuff and even more laughable that you're defending his actions.

OH Cmon Ben!! Football is just like most of the sports in the world. Referees make mistakes, and even if they used instant replay, not everything can be overturned. IN American Football, they use instan replay for certain things, but they are not gonna review every handball, and things like that. YOu know how much time will be wasted if that was the case, especially on a sport like Soccer that doesnt have much stoppage.
Like I said, the only new rule they can put in is to review the ball crossing the line. That should be a given, but even thats not a rule in soccer. Let alone a handball.

YOur american cousins are full of **** then. They miss calls in the NFL all the Fcking time. Just this week there was a controversial call in a Football game, Dallas Cowboys against the Green bay packers, were a ball was lost by the one team, and the referee reviewed it, knew it was a bad call, but the play had to stand, because by rule, the play shouldnt have been reviewed. So please, dont give that about the NFL, I know erverthing about that sport. And even though they have instant replay, they still miss calls, and they limit the amounts of replays you can have during a game. JUst like in Tennis, you have a limited amounts of challenges.

Anyway, it's irrelevant to this discussion. Henry cheated and then shamed the sport by celebrating, not admitting to it being intentional and laughing the whole thing off. Joke.

Henry is the devil he should rot.
Ireland should be autmoatically in the world cup although they didnt loook like winning particularly.
Footballs rules should be changed.
Who said that? We are just making it quiet clear that we are upset. Because he deliberately controlled the ball. Something now he wont even admit to. Jesus Christ you know your getting as bad as Wildcat? If Henry is such a great character why does he have to lie to the press and shrug it off as a simple, accidental handball?
And then people pretending there is absolutely no solution. There is and it's rather simple : Bring in video replay, allow for each team to call up one video replay per half/game. Simple injustices corrected. No game slow down.Much like the rule in tennis, which seems to work just fine.
There are millions of pounds in potential deals riding on the back of some decisions, and I think it's absolutely fair to have some way of immediately holding refs to account if you're about to lose that money on account of a bad decision.
It's also not unfair to have video replays at the top of the game and not lower down, on the idea that the game is identical. Anyone who's ever seen a Premiership game and then turned out for some semi-pro Sunday league side will know that games are reffed very differently depending on your level, so introducing video replay is hardly that bad. We don't want the world to change, we're just a tiny bit pissed off.
Go figure.
As for the hilarious comments that all the French media are absolutely delighted...
There was plenty of sympathy for the Republic of Ireland in the French media this morning after the controversial extra-time goal that denied them a place in next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
The national sports newspaper L'Equipe ran the headline "Hand of God" on its back page this morning after the France captain, Thierry Henry, admitted to handling the ball in the lead-up to William Gallas's equaliser which secured an aggregate victory in Paris.
Le Monde admitted that the goal was a fraught ending to a stuttering qualification campaign for the French, with their main headline reading "Les Bleus relieved, Irish disgusted".
The France head coach, Raymond Domenech, has come in for criticism during his side's below-par campaign and the manner with which qualification to South Africa was finally accomplished has not convinced the French media.
The former World Cup winner Bixente Lizarazu, who is now a television and radio pundit, was outspoken following the match describing the performance as "catastrophic".
Speaking on TF1, he said: "We're going to go to the World Cup, but we go to the locker-room with our heads bowed. It was not something to be proud of. I'm not going to party."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/nov/19/french-reaction-thierry-henry-world-cup
Also, over 80% of French people wanted a rematch in online polls. So to say everyone in France is delighted is just plain ignorant.

But both believe ireland had good chances that they should have put away, but shouldnt have gone out that way as its (in the words of Sam) "soul destroying" way to leave.

The former Manchester United was in typically forthright form at a press conference today and hinted that the situation was pay-back for the dishonesty and lack of integrity he feels the FAI have shown in the past.
"I've been amazed at the commotion that's been going for the last few days," he told reporters.
"I think we're on about Henry's handball - of course he handled it - but I'd focus on why they [Ireland's defenders] didn't clear it.
"I'd be more annoyed with my defenders and my goalkeeper than Thierry Henry. How can you let a ball bounce in the six yard box? How can you let Thierry Henry get goalside of you?
"And as the ball bounced in the six yard box I'd be saying 'where the hell's my goalkeeper?'"
As for whether the integrity of the game had been damaged, as many at the FAI have asserted, Keane disagreed strongly.
"No," he stated, when asked. "No, not one bit.
"You look over the course of the campaign, Ireland had their chances in the two games. They never took it in the first game, they never performed.
"I heard a few interviews after the games where the manager was speaking about none of the players got booked. Maybe that was the problem. Maybe they should have got booked in the first game because we stood off France.
"In the second half we had opportunities to score and we didn't take it.
"But the usual FAI reaction - 'We've been robbed!', 'the honesty of the game!'
"There was one of the group games, I'm sure it was against Georgia, where Ireland got a penalty and it was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen which changed the whole course of the game.
"I think Robbie [Keane] scored the penalty and Ireland went on to win it.
"I don't remember the FAI saying after the game we should have had a replay.
"John Delaney? He's on about the honesty and integrity of the game. I wouldn't take any notice of that man.
"People forget the last time Ireland were at the World Cup in 2002. People seem to forget what was going on at that World Cup, and that man's on about honesty.
"I was one of the players. He didn't even have the courtesy to ring me. He got interviewed and all he said was 'I don't know where he is, he's on the island somewhere I think.'
"I've been involved with Ireland since I was 15 years of age, and that man didn't even have the decency to make a phone call.
"They should have cleared the ball.
"I think the Irish supporters probably deserve better, I think their manager and most of their players deserve better but I'm not sure the FAI deserve better.
"What goes around comes around."
Roy Keane.

Roy Keane has always had a chip on his shoulder concerning the FAI and this was a perfect opportunity for him to vent, but to be honest I'm appalled at him for taking a cheap shot so soon after such a huge and emotional game. I'd question his motivation over the whole thing really and he's gone way down in my estimation over this thing.
And Ben, to compare a misjudged ref decision in the Georgia match and a deliberate handball from Henry (Keane said it wasn't deliberate- what a moron) is just silly really. Keane has a seperate agenda here; he's always had it when it involved Ireland.

You're an imbecile and I post in here all the time. Haven't you read all the articles relating to the French people's embarrassment over this whole incident, with people like Wenger saying that there should be a replay?
And this wasn't just a decision- it was blatant cheating. Can't you see the difference with your own eyes?
And Roy Keane has always split the nation with his actions and words.

It was clearly handball by Roy Keane, and yet Ireland got a penalty. Thats 3 points that you shouldnt have had. so the game against Frane shoulnt have even happened in the first place.

And then he laughed his cheating off in the press room, saying that it wasn't intentional and that if the ref didn't spot it, well that's it really. You honestly can't compared the two. Keane was trying to trap a ball and it hit the top part of his arm which was next to his body. All players do this when trying to control a ball from a height and occassionally it connects with their arm.
As for Henry's, he took his arm away from his body to control the ball with his HAND. They're totally different incidents and can't be treated the same. Do you know anything about football?

It's not the same thing at all you moron. Seriously, I don't think you actually know anything about football. You can't compare the two when trapping is commonplace in football, with the occassional glancing off the top of the arm being inevitable, whereas attempting to play basketball isn't.

So if its common place its not comparable???
You trying to ridicule Henry comparing it to rugby doesnt change the facts. They are both an infraction, that if the referee sees it, it will be called. They are both the same infraction.
The only difference between the two is, one would probably be just a foul, the other would be a foul and a card. Regardless, they are both FOULS!!!!!!

It's actually ridiculous the lengths to which you will go to exonerate Henry when anyone who knows football will tell you that it was incredibly unsportsmanlike behaviour which will tarnish his name forever.
You're going around and around in circles trying to connect his act with an example of cushioning the ball, an act that's part of football, but all you're really highlighting is your own inability to accept how wrong Henry's actions and behaviour were.
Henry traps the ball all the time for f cuks sake. You're rambling on like a moron here and I'm not going to humour you anymore when I've stated my case already.

You're really going to such lengths here. Henry's actions were that of a cheat while that Georgia penalty was a call made by the ref - you can't compare the two. There was intent on Henry's part while the Georgia decision was on a handball that the ref apparently saw. They're totally different.
Cheating and quesionable judgement cannot be compared. This is boring now.

Even if the Georgia game didnt happen, I will say the same thing, its not the fcking news of the century, and will be forgotten soon enough.
LEt me reiterate, GET OVER IT!!!!! Or seek some therapy.
Eh, no you're wrong there hunnybun. There's a huge difference between a call made by the referee and an act of shame on the part of Henry where he cheats, celebrates in front of millions of viewers and then blows the whole thing off a la Diego Maradona.

Keep repeating yourself, all you want, the fact is, its the same result. YOu are a hypocrite of the highest level like I said before. With your whole, high moral ground bullshit. I am actually loving the blatant double standard. And the best thinnk is when the culprit cant even see it.
Let me give you some recommendations:

2.Join Facebook I hate Thierry Henry sites
3.Send death Threats to FIFA and Thierry Henry
4. GEt over it!

This is ridiculous but I'll humour you once more, and with a little list so it's easier to read for a dullard like you.
1. Henry blatant cheating vs Georgia'a questionable decision. I don't think I
have to elaborate here do I?
2. Those 2 or 3 points against Georgia would not have effected the overall
outcome of the group. We'd have still come second.
3. The importance of the match. This was no little fixture... Henry knew
the eyes of the world were fixed on it and yet he refuses to apologise over
a shameful act of cheating. Which leads me to number 4...
4. Why are you defending him you muppet?

I guess, your answer is 5, none of the above then, or keep banging on and on for no reason, and keeping the deluded notion of high moral ground.
LMAO at Georgia's questionable decision. There is nothing questionable about it, apart from your biased eyes. YOu are really living up to the stand up Irish fan image you try to portray up in here.
Keep showing your hypocrisy, Mr we Irish people would never accept a win on a missed call, and would own up to it. LOL!

It's not hypocrisy at all. Is that it? That's the best you can come up with? I've answered every question and I said we wouldn't accept cheating dummy.
Bad calls happen in football and, while I agree that video footage should become apart of the game, I still believe that it in general it balances out during the course of a qualifying campaign or league format.
However, this was a one off match with the biggest prize up for grabs and Henry cheated.... there'e no defensive here. It's an inexcusable act that can't be compared to errors in judgement from refs. Buy an inflatable Henry doll for yourself and leave me alone.

Of course its a one off, its the game that went against Ireland, the rest of them are just you know, they happen its fooball. BUt this is Ireland god damn it, Soccer needs to be banned forever. And hang Henry.
Anyways, I hope EIRE takes up the offer by the Senegal federation to play some friendlies during the world cup, and boycott watching the tournament.

I was wrong technically about that, but, the tournaments in question, were won by Brazil, and argentina, in Mexico, and in the United States. SO realistically, its still America. The two countries, both play in the COPA America, so I still consider them the same continent. Altough, technically, its the CONCACAF region, so I accepted that.

YOure the dense one, who cant accept the fact that, they are both infractions. BOth handball, both would have been called by the referee, had they seen it!
ONce again, oh banging on one, lets keep going arouund.
Henrys Infration = foul + yellow card , no goal for France.
Keene Infraction =foul and no penalty for Ireland.
Again, same thing you hypocrite! Didnt see anyone ask for a replay of that game, or any big deal made out of it at the time.

Both infringements? - debatable considering that type of cushioning happens all the time. Henry, on the other hand attempted something that I've never seen on a football pitch before. It was disgraceful and ultimately led to Ireland's exit from the World Cup.
I'm not being a hypocrite here..... there needs to be a change of rules regarding decisions of this importance but please stop hiding behind this argument in a feeble attempt to pardon Henry. And don't forget that the Georgia match didn't change the final standing in the group.
Henry cheated. End of story.

I dont think he really liked England. But yeah, he is solid. We really shouldve gne through this year, but there were some internal alpha male things going on in the team. Like Diawara and Niang, werent called for our ultimate qualifying game, because supposedly, they didnt get along with Diouf.
