What's the name of the Lyon keeper from last night? He was very solid.

King Gizzard
21-10-2009, 06:00 PM
Hugo Lloris

France are gifted in the GK department

Lloris
Mandanda
Frey
Coupet

then there are a couple of others

setanta
21-10-2009, 06:10 PM
I'm not a huge huge fan of Valencia but he's very solid and rarely loses the ball, which is very important in European football. He gives United more of a physical presence on the pitch too.

30stone
21-10-2009, 06:12 PM
Typical united do it again.

setanta
21-10-2009, 06:13 PM

Id love to see a draw, Arsenal would be 3 points behind with 2 games in hand.

If we win this weekend we will be on level points with 1 game in hand if utd draw.
And liverpool would be 2 points behind us, and we would have 2 games in hand.

If we win this weekend we pull 5 points ahead with a game in hand too(considering they draw)

Liverpool's dire injury situation looks to be easing, with Fernando Torres (thigh) hopeful of returning.

Glen Johnson (groin) is also close to a comeback, but Steven Gerrard is struggling with a similar problem.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson claims Wayne Rooney faces an "uphill fight" to be passed fit.

Rooney has missed the last two games with a calf injury. Darren Fletcher (groin) is a doubt, but Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra return.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is still unsure whether he’ll have the services of three key players for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United at Anfield.

As the Reds go looking to end their run of four consecutive defeats, there are doubts over the availability of Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Glen Johnson.

Torres and Johnson missed Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Lyon, whilst Gerrard limped off during the first half.

Speaking to the press ahead of this Sunday’s showdown fixture, Benitez said, “It’s the same situation for all the players.Fernando trained today and has been working to a specific programme.

“We will speak with the physios over the weekend before making a decision about Steven.

“Hopefully Glen will be available but we’ll have to wait and see. We will make late decisions with all of them.”

Liverpool vs Manchester Utd gets underway at 2pm this Sunday, 25th October and is live on Sky Sports.

http://www.thisisanfield.com/2009/10/23/gerrard-torres-johnson-injury-updates/

I'm guessing Johnson will play, Torres will make the bench and Gerrard will still be injured.

West Ham vs Arsenal line-ups:

West Ham: Green, Spector, Tomkins, Upson, Ilunga, Behrami, Parker, Noble, Collison, Cole, Franco.
Subs: Kurucz, Kovac, Faubert, Da Costa, Diamanti, Hines, Stanislas.

Arsenal: Mannone, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Eboue, Song Billong, Fabregas, Diaby, Arshavin, van Persie.
Subs: Almunia, Nasri, Eduardo, Ramsey, Silvestre, Gibbs, Bendtner.

30stone
25-10-2009, 03:42 PM
Should be able to have a good game today.

Thought i hate this formation.. you dont score that many goals typically with one striker or we dont, we would play much better as our usual 4 - 3 - 3..

Mannone
Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Clichy
Song Fabregas Diaby
Eboue Van Persie Arshavin

Play much better like that.

30stone
25-10-2009, 03:43 PM
OH and NASRI is BACK!

Bendtner and Eduardo both back too (=

Wonder if this is the start of mannone becoming first team keeper.

Brad.
25-10-2009, 03:44 PM
Mannone makes too many mistakes and isn't solid enough to be first team keeper. Why hasn't Almunia been playing for the last few weeks anyway?

Mannone is still a bit dodgy but hes proving his worth hes one of th ebest young goalkeepers ive seen.. only 21 years old..

Almunia had a virus for about 4 weeks.

But last week and this week hes been on the bench with mannone starting.
Im not sure if hes quite 100% think he will start next week..

Brad.
25-10-2009, 03:48 PM
I don't think Almunia is good enough either. I think Arsenal need a GREAT keeper to do well in the Premier League. Ever since Lehmann retired, Arsenal haven't had good enough keepers to contend for the top 2 places or any trophies.

30stone
25-10-2009, 03:48 PM
Foul..

Carragher brought down owen, owen was through on goal..
only got a yellow ****ing ridiculous! should be red.

Vidic going over saying if i done that i would have been off.

Liverpool got away with murder today, been the better team but damn the ref has been lenient.
Typical at anfield i guess just like old trafford.

Almunia is class.
but the defence has been awful. thats been our problem.

Give mannone 4 years he will be a top class keeper and possibly italys best.

Bolton 3 - 2 Everton
Liverpool 2 - 0 Man Utd
Man city 0 - 0 Fulham
Westham 0 - 1 Arsenal

Then the table will be..

Team - Games played - Points
Chelsea 10 - 24
Man utd - 10 - 22
Arsenal - 9 - 21
Tottenham - 10 - 19
Liverpool - 10 - 19
Man City - 9 - 18

Yet were showing were a great team with fabregas in the form of his life.

Best team won today i have to say, liverpool were the better team even if the ref was awful.

West Ham will be fighting relegation this season (I think they will go down in 18th place), so Robert Green will be under heavy fire in the West Ham goal. I think he can go to Villa once Brad Friedel retires (probably at the end of this season).

Andyman is just dreaming of great things for Liverpool but the reality is that they haven't won a trophy since May 2005.
