I'm happy that Liverpool lost, because that means Arsenal are more likely to succeed.

But I'd rather have had a draw.

And that was in no way a penalty or a penalty would be gives every other game for it, but its never given...

i was actually dead annoyed with the ref today he was giving everything to tottenham. I think Liverpools confidence went when carragher and skrtel collided with each other earlier in the first half.It just went down hill from there. But i think that when benayoun came on we picked up a bit.

Birmingham played quite well today, i was quite surprised they didnt score.

Ah, Liverpool weren't too hot today and Spurs played very very well. Really impressed with their midfield.... Modric, Huddlestone and Palacios were all very effective. Alonso is missed.

And if you compare both squads, Liverpool don't have much to use on the bench whereas Spurs had some good players to come in. I just think Liverpool are a bit shakey this season if Torres and Gerrard don't do the business regularly for them.

Locke.

Ref was a joke.. No, he is a joke!

Tottenham must have paid him £10,000 and a new car.. It happens.

Liverpool was not 100% fit, if we was then we would have won 4-0 easy, but that ref is always open to a bribe here and there.. Makes me sick it does!

That game means more to Tottenham, they will be wänking about it for years to come..

1st game, just a kick around.. Means fk all..

Because what i have learned is that something like that happenes with every match, or every other match..

They call it running their line, and its shoulder to shoulder...

Imo its a foul but if they dont give it for the 1000 times it happens then they shouldnt give it today.

83
86

and 96...
Highest ive ever scored!!

my team was..

----------------------Schwarzer(6)--------------
Johnson(4)-Hangeland(8)-Evra(6)-A.cole(2)
Taylor(2)-Fabregas(44)(c)-Parker(3)-Ireland(8)
------------Davies(2)------Rooney(9)--------------

The team that scored 86 was..

---------------------Schwarzer(6)-------------------
Evra(6)-A.Cole(2)-Hangeland(8)-Upson(12)
Valencia(3)-Malouda(2)-Dempsey(6)-Wright-phillips(9)
-------Rooney(18)(c)-----Drogba(12)-----------

Torres needs service and he didn't get it today. Spurs had Liverpools midfield in their pockets. Torres is just a poacher. He doesn't contribute as much to a teams workrate as Drogba does. He's worldclass in a different way.

Like man utd burnley.. its obvious rooney will probs score lol..

We have games on wednesday ...

And the obvious ones will be..

Man utd Burnley.
Liverpool Stoke..

But you also have to think it will be a long game week and some teams could play twice..

Man utd will play burnley and wigan in 1 game week, meaning rooney could get 180 minutes (4 straight points) and then if he scores...

Liverpool Play Stoke and aston villa.

Tottenham have west ham and hull..

Everton, Man city, Arsenal, Bolton, Fulham, Blackburn, Aston Villa, West ham
All arent playing 2 games!

So think of the people you want playing.. since you only have 1 transfer...

Gameweek 2 opens
18th August 19:30pm.

So yeh double games, double points for those who play 2.

So if rooney plays both games..

he gets 4 points..
if he scores against burnley he gets 4 more if he scores against wigan he gets 4 more..

so he could easily score a goo amount of points.. i might have him as my captain this week..

Liverpool need another classy player to accompany Torres and Gerrard - someone who can take the games by the scruff of the neck when those two arent firing on all cylinders like today. I dont understand why Benayoun didnt start ahead of Babel, who was horrendous. Yossi did more in the 15mins he was on then Babel did the whole game.

That said, Totnam were very good and Palacios bossed that midfield. speaing of Palacios, time to check my fantasy team!

keithafc

It was one game. There will be games which will be tight and very compact. Fabregas and Vermalene said it themselves. More positives performances are needed. It's not about how you start, it's about where you finish and to finish in a good and in a much more respectable place, you need to put in better consistent displays week in week out than last season. Arsenal had no chance of winning the league after 15 games last season. 5 loses out of 15. The 4-3-3 system suits a lot of our players as well.

Song was ****ing immense. I still think we need another CM though because once he buggers off to the ACN we'll be slightly short so some cover will be nice. I dont think Denilson plays that CDM pos well, hes a bit more advanced. Same with Diaby.

Its about consistancy with us...

We get a lot of games where we play stoke, and get about 20 shots on goal but just cant find the net and ent up with silly draws..

And i hope we dont get the injuries we had last season... at no point did we have less than 4 players injuried 2 first team...

Rosicky proved when he came back that he can make a massive difference its like spending 15 - 25m on a brand new player having him back same with eduardo..

Eduardo is a goal scorer looking at his record.. he does what hes supposed to and showed that at everton, 15 minutes and he got a goal.

Jayson
17-08-2009, 12:34 AM

And yes Denilson and diaby arent attacking midfielders but they arent defensive either and neither are particularly strong..

Im happy because bendtner actually shined against everton for me, usually he frustrated me..

Not to forget Walcott will be back within the week same as diaby...

Im always more confident we can score at any point in a game when Arshavin is in the team and we have the front 3 in a 4-3-3.

Song was immense but we put the opposition under pressure. We pressured them into losing the ball like Man utd do and Barcelona. That's the difference. Song could be immense but we need to keep doing that. You have to win the battle first in order to play.

We have match winners in the side. Van Persie, Arshavin, Eduardo are match winners. We have power in song, just need to keep doing the pressure game, he will come good in that. Our full backs are vital to the width, sagna, clichy. Gallas, Vermalene has some balance it seems to it. You have to give the quality players in the team a chance to win games.

4-3-3 has brought back our lightning quick counter attacking game. Fabregas' first goal yesterday was a trip back to our invincibles team where we would get from side of the pitch to another in a flash. It was a joy to watch. And I agree keith, we closed them down really well. Allowed no time for them to build up moves, something we havent done much the last couple of seasons. It was a brilliant all round team performance - just have to apply the same work rate week in week out.

Lennon impressed me today seemed sharp and that run he did down the right hand side in the second half was amazing

Walcott lacks the technical skills to be a winger. As he gets older he will go as a striker but again, we will see how he develops. He's an odd one Walcott. I still ain't too sure on his best position.

Edit - I meant Walcott.

Lennon's final delivery is still questionable, although he has improved a lot.

Walcott always runs into trouble

very weak and is easily pushed off the ball

its more entertainment tv/drama than sport. Yes, but the actual matches are sport, and it is shown on Sky Sports, therefore a sport.
