Barbara Windsor has said she expects to rejoin EastEnders one day, following a surprise return in September.

The actress was speaking to The Daily Telegraph as she was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of East London.

"I think it's going along okay without me. But that's not to say the wonderful guv'nor will not talk me into it," she said.

"He'll take me for a pie and mash somewhere and talk me into it. I love it so much. I know what the producers are like, they're always phoning me and saying 'Do you fancy coming back?' and there'll be that one wonderful moment where I go, 'Oh, yeah'."

The 77-year-old, who lives in the West End now, also commented on rising house prices in the East of the city and said she often thinks back to her childhood home in Shoreditch.

She said: "You can't afford to live there. My mother spent her whole time getting away from the East End.

I know you asked Braden but I'll give you my opinion anyway, I think the latter because Buster said he met Shirley in 1976, Dean wasn't born until at least 10 years later (not sure of his age).

I like the Carters, but the bosses could try and pretend they give a toss about the rest of the cast. Every story on the show is done by story blocking (where stories are focused on for a few episodes at a time before really disappearing for weeks) but this never happens with the Carters and they're at the forefront all of the time.

EastEnders stars will look back on 30 years of Walford drama in a new series commissioned for BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders: Back to Ours will launch in early January, reliving some of the show's most iconic moments in the build-up to the 30th anniversary.

Cast members from the BBC One soap will be seen sitting in their on-screen homes watching some of their own characters' memorable scenes.

While re-watching their alter egos' highlights, the soap stars will share their memories and behind-the-scenes stories. Clips featured will span through EastEnders' entire history, including some from when the show first launched in 1985.

Shane Richie (Alfie Moon), Jessie Wallace (Kat Moon), Diane Parish (Denise Fox), Tameka Empson (Kim Fox), Rudolph Walker (Patrick Trueman), Himesh Patel (Tamwar Masood) and Nitin Ganatra (Masood Ahmed) have already been confirmed for the series, but more names will be announced soon.

Speaking of his involvement, Richie commented: "What a wonderful time I had sitting on the sofa with Jessie watching 12 years of Kat and Alfie. We laughed, we cried and we giggled as we remembered the past 12 years."

The exclusive iPlayer series follows EastEnders' continued success on the on-demand service. Individual episodes of the soap still often achieve over 1 million requests, while other iPlayer-only specials have proved popular in the past.

Jay Brown's police interview, which was released on iPlayer after he became a suspect in Lucy Beale's murder, attracted 375,000 requests in seven days earlier this year.

Victoria Jaye, Head of TV Content for BBC iPlayer, added: "Commissioning Back to Ours builds on the success of BBC iPlayer exclusive EastEnders programmes that feed audiences' excitement around the show's biggest storylines and moments.

"It doesn't get much bigger than the 30th anniversary, so we're delighted to offer the millions of fans who enjoy EastEnders on BBC iPlayer each week, this exclusive treat."

Back to Ours will launch in the week commencing January 5 in the run-up to EastEnders' live week for the 30th anniversary.

Don't know about Ronnie but i recon that is aunt babe's car. I think Stan and Aunt Babe are in it. With Stan dying.. We know he has terminal cancer but i believe he dies in a different way (maybe this car crash)
