Can that chick fit a newborn dead baby inside her freakin' shoebox
With a shoehorn, smother in chloroform so she can go get her groove on?
Can she duct tape and Velcro a fetus? Joell yo,
Tell Joe I need his empty box from his old shell toe adidas
So I can put these babies in the fetal position,
They’re getting elbows to the penis

Was gonna sig that but I aint brave enough :laugh2:

Eminem's got plaques on plaques on plaques, y'all. And he's got yet another to add to his collection today because his seventh studio album, 2010's Recovery, has officially gone quadruple platinum in the U.S. Just for reference, his previous album, 2009's critically panned Relapse, has pushed less than three million units to date. I guess people really did hate the accents on that record, huh? I know I did. Anyway, congrats to Em, who's hopefully working on something new for this year.

Eminem reached a new low with this album. Its so dreary and ****. The videos all look the same. Ever since his 'comeback' he's never failed to bring out crap. Just compare it to his old songs and you'll see what I mean.
I know he's still successful, it's just that as a fan of Eminem's old music I'm a bit disaopointed of what he's become.

Samuel.
02-02-2012, 10:48 PM
It's his voice. It's aged horribly. Even between Relapse and Recovery somehow (though maybe the accents were covering for that).

Both Relapse and Recovery get too much hate. It should all be focused on the abomination that is Encore.

Talking 2 Myself, Cinderella Man & You're Never Over were the 3 I really got into on Recovery, the rest didn't do it for me. Or they did but I got bored quickly.

I really dont see why people make comparisons. 2 different artists IMO. Em was out of his head for his first career. His second career is about helping people he's different he knows it he's gotten over it. Appreciate whats there ya know.....

Samuel.
02-02-2012, 11:52 PM
There are good tracks on Encore. My favourite track from it is actually a bonus track too - We As Americans.

It just sounds so half assed with tracks like Puke, My First Single and Big Weenie. And the rest is so average by Eminem's standards, especially following SSLP, MMLP and TES - and I think that's what kills it, how do you follow up three classics (arguably) with that? It's a pathetic attempt, and was such a huge let down at the time.

Eminem can add yet another plaque to the wall, as his Bruno Mars and Royce Da 5’9″ assisted track ‘Lighters’ has officially been certified platinum.
In a world where most artists have trouble selling albums and digital downloads, Eminem continues to conquer. The Detroit emcee makes it seem like it’s still the 90s the way he moves units, and he continues to pick up the pace with each passing year.
Nearly every month, Eminem is earning a platinum plaque for something. In February, Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ album earned the 4 times platinum plaque, and now he has another one to throw on the wall.
When Royce Da 5’9″ and Eminem teamed up for their ‘Bad Meets Evil: Hell The Sequel’ album, the track ‘Lighters’ with Bruno Mars was definitely considered by hip hop fans as the most “pop” single on the record, but pop seems to sell as the single has just been certified double platinum surpassing the 2 million sales mark.
It is worth nothing that two of Eminem’s singles off of his ‘Recovery’ album including ‘Space Bound’ and ‘Cinderella Man’ were also each certified gold, officially surpassing the 500,000 units sold mark.

Eminem has become the first person to claim 60 million Facebook fans.

The rapper is the first celebrity to reach the milestone on the social networking site, with 60,093,667 'likes' as of July 30.

He has attracted over 195,000 fans in the past week, according to social media tracker site Star Count.

Eminem is also in fourth place on YouTube, with over 2 billion views of his channel, but is some way behind Lady GaGa in Twitter's popularity charts.

He first took the mantle of most popular celebrity on Facebook after eclipsing Michael Jackson in February 2011.

More interview..."Last week you were in LA w/Dre, were you working on the next Eminem album?" Em: "I haven't really been working on my album, I've been really hands-on with SH album, for the past year, very hands-on and really involved, we're actually handing the album in today." "My album? I don't have a date yet."

Nick: "Why Yela and SH out of all the other artists?" Em: "Me and Royce have been friends for a long time and I've always respected him as an artist, so when he got his group together, you know...I'm very into the technical aspect of lyrics and Yelawolf is a very technical, lyrical artist too, so are SH."

Nick: "Are you constantly looking for new artists to produce?" Em: "Not constantly, but I keep an eye out for artists, new artists, try to keep a pulse on everything."

nick: "Is there an Eminem concert soon?" Em: "You mean here? Um...tomorrow. In front of my house. I'm kidding."

Nick: "The 10th anniversary of 8 Mile is soon, will you be back on the big screen soon?" Em: "No, no plans for that right now, trying to get the label back in a place we want it to be."

Em on SH: "I really feel like hip-hop needs the Slaughterhouse album right now."

Em put Royce on phone, said Royce wanted to say hi. Nick asks if Royce can drive Em down to the studio next time, Royce says Em won't let him drive, says he'll have to knock him unconscious to be able to drive.

Em thanked the fans and radio station for supporting the SH album.

Slaughterhouse Album is done finally!!!! get that **** out and forget about them.

Also he said he's started his new album which is better than 'toying with an album'.

Eminem has revealed that he almost quit rapping after a bad reception at his first gig.

The hip-hop star said that he found being booed while on stage so "traumatic" that it almost led to him giving up his musical ambitions entirely.

According to NME, Eminem divulges in Ice-T's new film documentary Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap: "The first time I rapped in front of actual people that mattered, in a club, I got booed. And it was very traumatic for me. I just remember it being so ******ing traumatic, and I think I went home and I was like, 'Man, I quit'."

However, he added: "And you know a week later, a day later, an hour later I got the urge, and I was like, 'I gotta get up, I gotta do it again'."

The Recovery star went on to say that rapping has given him "strength", after a much-publicised battle with prescription drug addiction.

"I certainly feel like if it wasn't for rap, obviously, I wouldn't be here, but it gave me my voice, it gave me my outlook, it gave me strength," he said.

"You know what I came back from, overdose and a whole load of s**t - without rap I wouldn't be able to do a ******ing thing.

"This is the one thing I feel that I feel like I have and a can do well, if I didn't have this I don't think I could do anything else, except for maybe play basketball."

Pink has confirmed that Eminem will feature on her new album.

The singer revealed that the pair decided to collaborate without fussing over contracts and just entered the studio to record the track, titled 'Here Comes The Weekend'.

"He said, 'Do you want to do a song with me?' '****** yeah!' I said, 'Do you want to do a song with me?' and he said, '****** yeah!' Handshake. Nothing signed. Done," Pink told Australia's Herald Sun.

The star described 'Here Comes The Weekend' as an "alternative club banger" and added: "I think we have another song in our future that will be funny and s**t talking."

Pink also praised Lily Allen who features on a track called 'True Love', saying: "She's the funniest, wittiest person."

fun. frontman Nate Ruess will also feature on The Truth About Love on a song called 'Just Give Me A Reason'.

Pink's sixth studio album The Truth About Love will be released in the UK on September 17 and a day later in the US.

The set's lead single 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' is available to download now in the US and will be released in the UK on September 2.

NEW YORK — Shady's back ... back again! Eminem has spent the last few months locked in the studio, but he's only just started working on his seventh major-label solo album.

Thursday night, hours before his special G-Shock performance in New York City, the Detroit rap machine confirmed to MTV News correspondent and Shade 45 radio host Sway Calloway that he is back in album mode.

"I've actually kinda just started. I've been on the move a little bit too, so I've in between things, sneak songs in here and there," Em said during a radio interview flanked by Shady's new super-group Slaughterhouse. "We actually just finished the [Slaughterhouse] album last week... Now I've got time to be able to start doing things for my own project."

SH's Welcome to: Our House is Welcome to: Our House is slated to drop on August 28 and the Shady boss is very excited about the release. "I feel like hip-hop needs this," Em said of Royce da 5'9", Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden and Crooked I's upcoming sophomore LP.

Em revealed that he signed the fearsome rap foursome at the top of 2011 and since then their project has been one of the most anticipated hip-hop releases. Knowing that the stakes were high, Em sat with the group of veteran spitters and crafted songs alongside them.

"All of Dre's little tricks, I've stolen over the years," Em said on-air and to the intimate room filled with music journalists and bloggers.

"It's about making songs now, trying to take that next step," he added later.

It's been two years since Marshall released his last solo LP Recovery.

SH is done and dusted, A8 is starting.... :D

Benzino's feud with Eminem got personal and ugly back in 2002, with the rapper and magazine publisher going as far as calling Em "the rap Hilter" on his dis track "Die Another Day," but things have changed immensely since then.

"I can say it now, I was wrong for it. Because at the end of the day, Em is a great lyricist and he should be able to express himself in hip-hop as anybody should," Benzino said on Wednesday when he appeared on "RapFix Live."

ZNO, who once ran The Source magazine with his business partner, Dave Mays, launched an all-out attack on Slim Shady. Em himself fired back with multiple well-orchestrated dis tracks like "The Sauce" and "Nail in the Coffin." Benzino says he's a different man. "You really can't accomplish nothing, as far as nowadays times, with drama," he said. "All drama does is just slow you down, it just hampers things. I don't have no beef with nobody... The situation with me and Eminem, if I could've done it over, I would've."

The Boston MC, who now stars in VH1's hit reality show "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," believes that it was in upbringing in the rough and tumble Beantown which caused him to lash out at Em. Race definitely played an issue, but now Benzino credits the Detroit mega star with bringing different cultures together.

"Em's still doing his thing and he's still a great influence on hip-hop," he said. "Hip-hop has bridged the cultures, white, black, Latino, Asian, it's for everybody."

"I probably was an angry person back then," he continued to explain. "If I offended anybody with that, I apologize to hip-hop for that."

:idc: 10 years too late there

He met Dr Dre in Japan yesterday.

Eminem has devoted most of his studio time over the past few weeks to helping Slaughterhouse complete their Shady Records debut Welcome to: Our House, but Marshall recently confirmed — to the delight of fans — that he's started to work on his eighth solo album, and Royce Da 5'9" wouldn't be surprised if his boss has already banked more than a few records.

Slaughterhouse Learn How To Craft Albums From Eminem
"I've actually kinda just started. I've been on the move a little bit too, so in between things, I sneak songs in here and there," Em revealed during a recent interview with Slaughterhouse. "We actually just finished the [Slaughterhouse] album last week ... Now I've got time to be able to start doing things for my own project."

But despite Em's claims to be in the early stages of recording, Slaughterhouse's Royce Da 5'9" is confident that at the pace he works, Shady might already have a sizeable catalog at his fingertips.

"Marshall is the type that never really stops recording, so when you get in the studio he's in the back room where the booth is and the door is locked," Royce said on the set of Slaughterhouse's "Throw it Away" video, where Em made a cameo. "Nobody's allowed back there, nobody ever knows what he's doing. All I know is that he's constantly working, so if he told me that he had an album ready right now, I would believe him because he's like a work horse. He works every day."

During his studio time with Slaughterhouse, Eminem admitted that he's been using "all of Dre's little tricks, I've stolen over the years" to perfect songs, and that should translate into a memorable body of work. Em released his last solo LP, Recovery, in 2010.

:amazed: :worship: I want it right now.

Quite a few early ones I've not heard there. Also didn't know his version of Renegade with Jay Z was so old, thought it was recent.

HERE COMES THE WEEKEND
21. Eminem’s on this one. Again, you need to wait a while for MM to turn up and do his star turn.
22. The chorus is a big “here comes the weekend, set off your sirens” chant.
23. As the evidence so far would suggest, it’s a song about having a pretty good time (“tearing up the night”, if you please) on a Friday or a Saturday evening, although probably not on Sunday because let’s face it we’ve all got work on Monday.
24. We’ll be honest with you hear, readers: we were able to listen to this song twice and we couldn’t make head nor tail of most of the Eminem bit. We managed to write down ”big city lights”, “hot diggity”, “…this building cos I’m tearing it down” and “security get out”. There is one properly brilliant bit, though, when he goes “I swear the only thing I hear is the sound of sirens going ‘erghegehghe’”.
25. There are assorted references to booze.

The new album, you have collaborations on there with Eminem, how’s Em doing?
I went to Detroit to work with him. We recorded a few songs. I’m only going to keep one, because I made so much music for this actual album, that I’ll put one. I don’t know if I’ll use the other one for a bonus song because there would be so many different versions of the album. There would be deluxe or tracks you get when you buy it from certain places.

No I.D. knows a thing or two about producing for rap greats. With a discography which already includes unforgettable tracks with the likes of Common ("I Used to Love H.E.R."), Jay-Z ("Run This Town") and Nas ("Daughters"), the Chicago beat wizard and Def Jam executive looks to get in the studio with another primetime hitmaker: Eminem.

"I definitely sat down and spoke with Eminem about working and we agreed to get in the studio and see what we could do," No I.D. told MTV News on Wednesday in Los Angeles while he attended a G.O.O.D. Music party in the Moet Rosé Lounge at Bagatelle. "He's one of the best, I want to work with one of the best and try and give some music contributions. I think that would be one of the next steps in that lineage of what I'm trying to do."

So what exactly would a No I.D./Eminem record sound like? "Hip-hop," he said with a brimming confidence.

If fans are lucky, they may be able to hear the results of that session sometime soon. Last month, Eminem confirmed that he is working on his seventh major label studio album and his Bad Meets Evil partner Royce da 5'9" is already impressed. "Marshall is the studio right now, laying the most awesome lyrics in the world," Nickel Nine said when he and Slaughterhouse appeared on "RapFix Live" on August 30. "I'm not so sure how the world is going to respond from some of the things that I've heard from him."

Oh holy **** yes

Nothing high class in my glass
Only bottles of pop
My bottles are popped so when I pop up in the spot
I'm probably not gonna be wanting to pop bubbly or Ciroc
I'm not Puffy but I'ma run this city tonight
When I hit it, I might act like a frickin' idiot
Diddy mixed with a medieval knight, big city lights
Little indignity, hot diggity
This Biggie is gettin' me hype
I don't get some liquor, I'll hurt you
I'll knock your dick in the dirt, bickerin' worse
Than that bitch in that Snickers commercial
A mixture of Stiffler and Urkel
Hangin' from the light fixture
I hope you pricks are insured for this building
Cuz we're tearin' it down, security get out
The frickin' way, Jesus Christ the blaring is loud
I swear the only thing I hear is the sound
Of sirens going eeeeeh cause....

Facebook® and YouTube® represent 2 of the 3 most popular Internet domains; as per Alexa® traffic ranking [3] they currently reside on the 1st and 3rd places, correspondingly (second place, as expected, goes to Google). In this regards, the first question probably should be: how popular is YouTube per se on Facebook? And the answer is: #2, based on the most Likes statistics. Then, (consequently), who’s the #1 on FB? Well, you will find out later in this article…

Included multiple tables and charts clearly visualize the astronomical popularity numbers of both YouTube top-ranked videos of all times and most Liked Facebook pages’ statistics.

YouTube Top5 music vids, side notes

1. Justin Bieber remains the most popular entertainer on the planet based on YouTube stats shown above. His musical video clip "Baby" added about 10 million views within last month, currently totaling approximately 783 MegaViews (million views). This stratospheric popularity index far exceeds the entire population of USA, Canada [2] and Mexico combined, accounting for more than 1/3 of global Internet users’ base (about 2.267 billion as per [3]). The aggregated number of views for all of his hit songs available on YouTube is now getting close to 2.6 billion, which is greater than entire Internet community user base, also exceeding 1/3 of the entire world population.

2. “On The Floor” performed by Jennifer Lopez is going figuratively through the roof currently accounted for more than 602 MegaViews, also outnumbering the entire population of North America.

3. Eminem and Rihanna’s collaborative song “Love The Way You Lie” is gaining a lot of popularity, nearing 500 MViews mark and currently residing at the 3rd place in the list.

4. "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" performed by Shakira resides at the 4th line, currently flying over the 494 MegaViews.

5. Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" is getting better, adding about 4 million views within last month and totaling approx. 488 MViews.

Most Liked pages on Facebook

Most Liked pages on Facebook [1] are listed in the following table and also included in the Chart (see attached slideshow):

Rank-Page Facebook Likes
1 Texas Hold’em Poker 64,789,912
2 YouTube® 63,109,881
3 Eminem 61,119,260
4 Rihanna 60,287,717
5 The Simpsons 54,817,744
6 Shakira 54,625,250
7 Lady Gaga 53,133,796
8 Coca-Cola 51,970,996
9 Michael Jackson 51,815,665
10 Harry Potter 50,362,383
11 Cristiano Ronaldo 48,608,234

18 Lil Wayne 40,418,487
19 Bob Marley 40,278,518
20 Beyoncé 38,634,167

Now, answering that question raised in introductory paragraph: the #1 title in this Chart belongs to Texas Hold’em Poker, followed by YouTube® itself (#2).

Eminem is the highest ranked celebrity-performer, occupying 3rd position in the chart. Notably, most of the list is made of popular performer-entertainers with only one person representing big sport, namely:Cristiano Ronaldo at #11, right below Harry Potter. Big business is represented by Coca-Cola (#8), just above Michael Jackson but below Lady Gaga. And, interestingly, kind of “story of two parks”: Linkin Park (#15) neighboring South Park (#16) in the chart.

It took six weeks of rehearsals and reams of flubbed lines, but by the time 8 Mile hit theaters, Eminem had scored a hip-hop movie masterpiece. Shining a light on both sides of Detroit’s railroad tracks—trailer parks and battle cyphers—Em’s first leading role is a true underdog story, bolstered by callous punch lines and a guy named Cheddar Bob. Ten years after the classic film’s premiere, VIBE rounds up the gang—Eminem, Mekhi Phifer, Anthony Mackie, Evan Jones and Omar Benson Miller—to wax cinematic. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime…
Written by Jeff Rosenthal

VIBE: Eminem, at the time you hadn’t really acted before; but the story was based in Detroit, based off of some of your life experiences. When the cameras stopped rolling, did you feel that you headed further into these guys’ world of acting, or they into yours?
Eminem (B-Rabbit): I definitely felt like I was about to embark on some **** that was not necessarily up my alley. It was all brand new, and I’m so glad I had all of these guys around me. My hardest part, was remembering the lines. ‘Cause really, all I had to do was take myself back into the mind frame of how I felt before I got signed with Dre. It wasn’t really too much to just be myself.
Anthony Mackie (Papa Doc): It was crazy for me because it was my first job. When we started, I didn’t really have no lines. Mother****ers would be like, “Yo, your character sucks, so we just added this. Do this.” My biggest thing was just trying to be on the same level as Mekhi ****ing Phifer.
Mekhi Phifer (Future): You pulled it off, Cat Daddy! You pulled it off!
Eminem: When I look back at the movie, one of the cool things is we all became friends on the set. The film carried over to how we [eventually] interacted in real life.
You always said this isn’t your life story. Does it matter that everybody thinks it is?
Eminem: It doesn’t really matter to me. People who really listen to my music probably know what’s real in that movie and what’s not. There were bits and pieces that were taken from my life, but for the most part, it was the story of the underdog. We rehearsed so much before we even started the film, and I was in every scene. I was there every day from 6 a.m. until—half the time—5 in the morning the next day. It became a point where I felt like I am this person. I’m ****ing B-Rabbit because I was living this movie. I had no choice but to be him.
In hindsight, everyone thinks this movie was an easy decision, but the studio and Jimmy Iovine were wondering if this could hurt the Eminem brand. Mariah Carey’s Glitter had just tanked and the last time Universal had worked with a rapper was on Cool As Ice with Vanilla Ice. Mekhi, you initially passed on the movie. Why?
Phifer: I was due to start ER and 9/11 had just happened. They was like, “Okay, we want you to fly to Detroit.” It was like, September 13. “I ain’t getting on no plane! I’m staying here and I’m gonna be a doctor, Goddamn it!” I hadn’t read the script yet, and they were so hush-hush about the script that I had to sit and read it in [director] Curtis [Hanson’s] office because they weren’t releasing it. But when I read it, I thought, Oh, this is kinda slick! They had me go to Detroit to see if me and Em was going to have chemistry…This cat became my man so fast that I was like, “This is gonna be dope.” And when I met all the rest of the guys, I was all in. It was the best decision I ever made.
Omar Benson Miller (Sol George): 8 Mile is so revered, it’s like everywhere I go, somebody’s talking about it. Yesterday, me and Cheddar were walking down the street, heads down, and some kid walked up to us from behind and was like, “Anything goes when it comes to hoes/I’m the kingpin when it comes to flows…”
Evan Jones (Cheddar Bob): [Laughs] Yeah, who wrote that rap?
Eminem: That **** should’ve been a single. “Ten freaky girls! Ten! Ten!”
Benson Miller: I just want to bring up something: Because of Em’s celebrity, not being able to move around so much, Proof was out there a lot. And I can remember the wrap party literally... We kept singing the song and they didn’t want to let me and Cheddar into the wrap party because they didn’t know who we were. Proof came out and it was all good! I’ve been doing movies for a while now, and there’s a lot of funny dudes out there. The inclusive nature of you guys, Em and Mekhi, who were already on and who were senior to us in that sense, was great. It was really something special.
Eminem: I definitely appreciate that.
Phifer: You’re cool cats. Y’all made it easy on us.
Mekhi, your character was based off of Proof. Did you have any long conversations to try and really understand who he was?
Phifer: I definitely spoke to Proof. I didn’t sit him down, because to me the character spoke for itself. I mean, I wanted to portray him as he was in ’95. That’s why you see me with that wig, that crazy wig! [Laughs] And that even came down to the wire—we almost couldn’t do dreads because they couldn’t get the wig right.
Eminem: [Laughs] We used to call Proof “the Wolverine” because at the Hip-Hop Shop, his hair was crazy. I think that, for the most part, being that I wasn’t playing Marshall, Mekhi’s character didn’t have to be exactly like Proof. As long as it had that authenticity, which I felt it did. He just had to be Detroit.
Evan, what was Eminem like in those first rehearsals?
Eminem: I was a ****ing dick! [Laughs]
Jones: Like everyone’s been saying, he was fantastic. Right off the bat, he took us to the Detroit Lions game. On the way back, you jumped in our car and played us some new tunes off your album [The Eminem Show], and it was so good. You made us all feel like family.
Eminem: Wow, that’s crazy. I forgot about the Lions game, man! That was nuts!
Mackie: My ’hood-ass group, Em was taking me to shoot pool and strippers was jacking me out of my per diem and ****!
Eminem: We was making it rain with your per diem?
Mackie: We was at the bedbug inn and I was fighting in the parking lots of strip clubs for per diem. When keeping it real goes wrong.
Eminem: “Making It Rain With Per Diem,” I think that might be the name of my next album.
Movies are a collaborative process, and they can get screwed up at any point in the creative process. When did you first begin to feel confident that this would be a successful motion picture?
Benson Miller: Evan and I talk about it a lot, us all being so young... I had no idea it was going to be a classic. Even when the movie came out and was a mammoth, I just thought this was how everything goes… But I remember Curtis had us all come together to show us a little highlight reel of the film. It was probably four or five minutes, and it was dope! Everybody was like, “Oh, we’re on to something now!”
Eminem: I was just hoping I didn’t look stupid in that ****. “I just hope that it’s a decent movie and it does okay and just doesn’t suck.”
Phifer: I remember our first day of shooting was when we was leaving Cheddar Bob’s house because he shot himself, and we go into Big O’s little car… It felt real. And when me and Em was doing “Sweet Home Alabama.” But when I really knew was in the battle scenes; the crowd, the extras, they made those battle scenes. The rhymes were dope, but the extras were… They made it hype. Being up there hosting and feeling that energy, it just felt… special. Even our energy in the scenes, it felt like something I hadn’t done before. It didn’t feel actor-y. It just felt like we were “being.”
How were the battle scenes written?
Eminem: I think Curtis had a lot of the guys write their own things, and then I would see what they were going to say. I might sit there with some of the guys and be like, “What if you changed this?” The hardest thing for me was trying to figure out what that last [rhyme] was going to be. As I was going back and forth with the other guys about what they were going to say—“Okay, if you’re going to say that, then I’ll write this”—the last one was [challenging] because I didn’t have anything to respond off of. So I had to write it myself, off what somebody could say to me.
Mackie: I’ve gotta give it to Curtis, because he challenged us. It wasn’t just, “Okay, bring us what you’ve got.” He kept you on edge, like, is this enough? Am I giving enough?
Eminem: That’s the other thing, too, with the battle scenes. I remember him saying, “This **** has gotta be flawless. [Then] Curtis would say, “Is this good enough?” I went back and rewrote a couple of lines. Curtis definitely, definitely pushed us.
Anthony, you play Papa Doc, the leader of Free World. Now, I don’t mean to start any fights 10 years after the fact, but do you think Rabbit still could’ve won had his manager not been the host?
Mackie: Man, **** no! I told Curtis, “There is no way he would’ve won that battle!” That was my whole argument! I said, we should have a tie at first and that’s when he comes back and do the **** he did. But when we did it, it was so cold and it worked so well. The energy of the crowd was so intense when we was filming that people was passing out and ****, throwing up because it was just so chaotic in there. Still, I know for a fact, if the Chin Tiki was that crazy, no way he could have beat me if his manager wasn’t the host. If I’m the killuminati of the Tiki?
Phifer: That wasn’t at the Chin Tiki, fool! Go watch the movie again. That was at The Shelter! [Laughs]
Eminem: Man, we had 10 freaky girls in the Chin Tiki. How were you ****ing it up?
Jones: You know, you had the line where you said, “This guy went to Cranbrook, that’s a private school,” and we all thought whatever… But Mitt Romney went there!
Mackie: That’s crazy. I didn’t know that!
Phifer: That’s the type of cats Papa Doc was hanging out with. Straight Republicans.
Mackie: When Papa Doc became mayor of Detroit, I bulldozed all that ****.
Evan, Omar was talking about you getting recognized as Cheddar Bob. Have you learned to shoot a gun in the past 10 years?
Jones: The gun in that movie was the crappiest gun I’ve seen, ever, in all the movies I’ve been in.
Eminem: That was like a cowboy gun.
Jones: I love that Plaxico Burress was called Cheddar Bob forever.
Benson Miller: Cheddar Bob has gotten hella rap references.
Phifer: Beanie Sigel.
Eminem: Busta Rhymes.
Phifer: You know what’s so funny, Evan? You did
your thing, B, because people come up to me sometimes and go, “Was Cheddar Bob really like that?” I’m like, “Nah, Evan is good! He’s not mildly retarded or nothing. He’s a very intelligent man!”
[Laughter]
Phifer: But he played that role, that’s what I’m saying! You played it!
One of the extras said in an interview that Brittany Murphy was on the set, singing at the top of her lungs and hanging from ladders, but she could instantly get into character when the director was ready. What was she like to be around?
Eminem: Brittany was a good person, a super-nice girl. She was very down-to-earth; she’d talk to anybody.
Jones: And a really good actress. She brought so much to that role.
Phifer: She was bubbly.
Mackie: She was always speaking positivity, and when it was time to get busy, she got busy! Like Evan said, she brought a lot to the role. I remember reading it and not thinking there was so much on the page.
Em, tell me about writing songs on the set.
Eminem: I remember doing “Lose Yourself.” I went to the trailer during lunch and laid a scratch from top to bottom, just one take through and then stacked some ad-libs and ****. I was going to come back and re-do it. I actually ended up keeping it. That’s my most vivid memory—that song, and walking around set with a pad of paper. If I didn’t have that, I’d write it on my hand. I was like a little hamster: I’d go from my lunch trailer to the treadmill to run and then jump to the music trailer to make some beats.
Since we’re discussing “Lose Yourself,” growing up, how was your mom’s spaghetti?
Eminem: How was it? From what I remember, it was pretty damn good. Like goulash. [Laughs]
8 Mile is a dark movie, but there are definitely some bright spots: Cheddar Bob’s gunshot wound; Eminem battling Xzibit. Which day was the most fun on set?
Benson Miller: Wow. The freestyle session in the parking lot was a lot of fun, except it was so long! We were there like 19 hours that day!
Eminem: And like four degrees out.
Phifer: That’s what I was happy to have the dreads for—it was like a little hat.
Benson Miller: You know what? The final battle. Curtis did a really smart thing, and so did Marshall, because he didn’t preview to us what he was going to say. So he just shot the rehearsal.
Mackie: Those reactions are real.
Phifer: When we burned down the house? Em, you remember we almost died in that joint! The pyrotechnic dude almost blew himself up, singed his eyebrows off and all of that. He’s got that surprised look now—no eyebrows.
Eminem: I got my **** singed a little bit, too. I can’t remember exactly how that **** went down, but…
Phifer: Didn’t you jump out the window or some crazy ****?
Eminem: Yeah.
Mackie: You guys were all on the second floor [with] all the camera guys. The gas line got a kink in it, so the dude turned the gas up and fire flames came kicking out the windows… and the guys all threw their cameras and jumped out the window.
Eminem: Yeah, the **** just ****ing went up! I think they got it on film, but then they dropped the camera. What you see in the movie is the actual thing that happened, and then I’m sure they actually cut because the **** was real.
Phifer: It was like an inferno!
Benson Miller: It was so hot. It really was like, six, seven degrees outside, and I remember thinking, Man, I should take my jacket off.
Anthony, they were talking earlier about how people wrote their own rhymes—you didn’t get the chance to rap at the end. I’m just wondering, how nice are you on the mic?
Mackie: Oh, I’m an assassin on the mic.
Eminem: So, you’re not nice at all. You’re completely the opposite. You’re very impolite on the mic.
Mackie: [Laughs] That’s why Curtis only wanted me to have one verse, because he was like, “Nobody’s going to believe that this guy would lose!” [Laughs]
8 Mile ends on such an uncertain note: Will Rabbit succeed? Will he fail? Em, was there any discussion to make the ending more definitive?
Eminem: Nah, I don’t think there ever was. The coolest thing was it was open for interpretation. Curtis was saying was that it was so open you could make your own determination of what happened. You kind of saw where Jimmy was going, but you weren’t 100 percent sure. It could’ve worked out, it could’ve not. But I think one of the coolest things [about the movie is] the ending.
Jones: Yeah, it was just another week in the life. Kids who watch it, they don’t realize.
Benson Miller: It’s the vulnerability; nobody has to be invincible. Everybody has that vulnerable moment that everyone can associate with. In other movies, there’s a glorification oftentimes of the lead; where you want to make the lead so likable and lovable that there’s a superhuman-ness to him. This movie stayed away from that. We’ve gotta give a lot of credit and a lot of love to that.
Eminem, this movie broadened your base to an incredible degree—after its release, you were suddenly surrounded by stadiums of people ages 5 to 55, which is weird considering the word “****” is said 200 times in 110 minutes. Were you prepared for parents to like you?
Eminem: My career up to that point was very me-against-the-world. That was the mentality that I had—“**** everybody.” And then all of these parents loving me? It was weird. Like, **** am I going to do now? I need to figure out a new way to piss people off. I wasn’t ready for that. I still don’t understand it. It is what it is. I don’t even know what that means, but it is what it is.

40 facts for 40 years:

Eminem has hit the milestone of his 40th birthday so to celebrate, what's better than 40 fast facts about the man himself?!

1. Here's a simple one to start with: Marshall Bruce Mathers III was born on 17 October, 1972. Click through the gallery to find out which big film role he missed out on and which of his songs is most likely to cause a car accident...

2. Eminem's mother Deborah was only 15 when she had him. Her father, Marshall Mathers Jr, abandoned the family six months after the birth.

3. Of his childhood, he said: “I'd go to six different schools in one year. We were on welfare, and my mum never ever worked.” He preferred rap battles to school and dropped out at 17 after twice failing the ninth grade. He first used the pseudonym M&M, which stands for Marshall Mathers, when he was 14.

4. His rocky relationship with his mother worsened when he found fame. In 1999 she attempted to sue him for US$10 million for slandering her in his lyrics. In Cleaning Out My Closet he raps: 'Just try to envision witnessing your momma popping prescription pills in the kitchen.' She was unsuccessful.

5. Eminem married his childhood sweetheart, Kimberly Scott, twice - once in 1999...

6. ...and again at the height of his fame in 2006, pictured. They split for good later that same year.

7. Eminem has custody of his daughter Hailie Jade, who has been mentioned in many of her father's hits, including,'97 Bonnie & Clyde, Hailie's Song and My Dad's Gone Crazy.

8. Eminem has adopted two other girls, Lainie, Kim's sister's child, and Whitney, her daughter from a previous relationship.

9. He was sued for defamation by his ex-wife after he rapped about her death in the song Kim, and accused her of cheating on him.

10. Eminem was discovered after he came second in the 1997 Rap Olympics and Jimmy Iovine, boss of Interscope Records, liked what he heard. Fifteen years later, Eminem is still with Interscope.

11. Em's mentor Dr Dre heard his raps on tape and didn't realise he was white until they met in the studio for the first time. Afterwards the hip-hop mogul said, 'I don't care what colour, size or age as long as they can rap'.

12. He went on to become the world's best-selling artist of the noughties, shifting over 32.2 million albums in the decade.

13. Eminem's Ronnie RIP tattoo is in honour of his uncle Ronald Nelson, who first introduced him to hip-hop. Ronnie killed himself in 1991.

14. Eminem also has a large tattoo of his daughter on his right arm, above the words 'Bonnie & Clyde'. Just when you think he's gone soft, he also has 'Kim Rot In Pieces' on his torso.

15. He's a record breaker: The Marshall Mathers LP, released in 2000, became both the fastest-selling hip-hop album and the fastest-selling solo album in US history.

16. Eminem's first major acting role was as B-Rabbit in 8 Mile, a semi-autobiographical tale about an amateur rapper growing up in Detroit. But you can also spot him in The Wash - Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre's 2001 film about a car wash, which featured cameos from many of hip-hop's elite including Ludacris and Xzibit.

17. Lose Yourself won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, becoming the first rap song to win the award. Unfortunately, Eminem declined an invitation to the ceremony because he was convinced he wouldn't win.

18. Lose Yourself also had the dubious honour of winning a poll to find the song most likely to cause a car accident.

19. The budding actor almost starred in the film Jumper opposite Rachel Bilson, but they eventually cast Hayden Christensen instead.

20. Twice Eminem has had the world's highest selling album in a given year - 2002's The Eminem Show and 2010's Recovery.

21. To be signed to Eminem's label, Shady Records, one of the requirements is a freestyle rap battle with the man himself.

22. In 2006, Eminem's best friend, Proof from D12, was shot and killed following an argument over a game of pool.

23. Eminem entered rehab after becoming addicted to painkillers following Proof's death. 'I felt like I needed to pull back from the spotlight because it was getting out of control,' he explained. 'I mean, you could blame my drug problem on genetics, you could blame it on my career and the way it took off, or you could just blame it on me.'

24. Eminem has had a couple of brushes with the law and in 2001 he was sentenced to two years' probation for carrying a loaded weapon.

25. Eminem is left-handed. Die-hard fans were apparently overjoyed to have solved this little mystery when their idol was filmed writing a letter in the video for Stan.

26. Eminem attempted to build bridges (following accusations of homophobic lyrics) by performing with Elton John at the Grammy Awards in 2001. But the venue was picketed by irate members of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), who were appalled that Elton would agree to share a shage with someone they considered homophobic.

27. Eminem ranks third on Forbes' list of the biggest social media celebrities, behind Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

28. Eminem suffered at the hands of school bullies and nearly died of a brain hemorrhage when a school yard attack left him in a coma. The bully, D'Angelo Bailey, has been named in a couple of Eminem's tracks, most notably in Brain Damage.

29. To help fight bullies Eminem founded his own charity, The Marshall Mathers Foundation, which helps disadvantaged youth near his home in Detroit.

30. His official Vevo page on YouTube has had over two billion views... and counting.

31. Love the Way You Lie, Eminem's duet with Rihanna, was the best-selling single of 2010 in the United Kingdom despite never topping the UK chart.

32. In July, the rapper became the first person to reach 60 million fans on Facebook. Michael Jackson previously had the most popular Facebook page until Eminem eclipsed him in 2011.

33. Eminem was investigated by both the CIA and United States Secret Service for being a threat to national security after he rapped that he wanted to kill President George W Bush in his track Mosh.

34. In 2009 Eminem teamed up with Family Guy's evil child genius Stewie Griffin to present a series of special cartoons. 'It was a thrill to work with Stewie. I am a big fan of talking babies and their humour,' he deadpanned.

35. Before having aspirations to become a rapper, Em wanted to illustrate comic books. One of his prized possessions is an early edition Avengers comic which was given to him by a British TV host after he'd appeared on his show.

36. Eminem was the first hip-hop artist to win the Best Rap Album category at the Grammy Awards for three consecutive releases - The Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show. He has since also won the award in 2010 for Relapse and 2011 for Recovery.

37. His childhood nickname was 'Mickey' thanks to his big ears.

38. These days, Eminem is a bit of a health nut – he watches what he eats and won’t even go near soft drinks with aspartame in them. 'They say it's been known to cause cancer, so I cut that s**t out,” he explained.

39. When his most recent album, Recovery, topped the charts, Eminem broke another record – for the most successive US number one albums by a solo artist.

40. And he's showing no signs of slowing down - Eminem's untitled eighth studio album is due in 2013. It will feature collaborations with 50 Cent and his longtime producer Dr Dre.

Cheryl Cole could soon be hitting the studio with Snoop Dogg, with the rapper stating he wants to help the Geordie star crack America.

The Doggfather has revealed he's been in talks with Chezza's manager Will.I.Am about hooking with Cole on a track for her next LP, with Snoop teasing that their collaboration is "going to happen."

The Daily Star has quoted Dogg as saying: "I will work with Cheryl that is for sure. It's going to happen. Hip-hop sells in America and that is the direction her manager Will.I.Am wants to take her.

"I have already talked with him about collaborating with her on her next album and I am down with it."

Snoop went on to add that Cole could also have a duet with Eminem in the pipeline, stating: "[Will.I.Am’s] got some big names planned for her and is talking with Eminem as well. It's going to get real big for Cheryl."

oh good god wheres my suicide gun.

It's hard to believe that Eminem's career will have spanned nearly 20 years by the time his next album drops, but at least fans now know for sure: Eminem's next solo release arrives in 2013.

Eminem has made the announcement with a limited edition baseball hat inspired by the Detroit Tigers.

The hat, pictured below, has the words "World Champion" written on the side, and lists the years Eminem has released an album: 1996 (Infinite), 1999 (The Slim Shady LP), 2000 (The Marshall Mathers LP), 2002 (The Eminem Show), 2004 (Encore), 2009 (Relapse), 2010 (Recovery), and indicates that the next release will be in 2013.
