The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has today awarded Eminem with a new Diamond certification for ‘Not Afraid’ which crossed the the 10 million mark counting song sales and streams. Em already holds a 11x multi-Platinum Digital Single Diamond Award for ‘Love The Way You Lie’ featuring Rihanna, making him the first artist in history to earn two RIAA Digital Single Diamond Awards.
What’s crazy is — Eminem also has
two 10x multi-Platinum Diamond
certified albums: The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002)

Rap superstar Eminem has paid tribute to Steve King after the Grammy-winning studio engineer died on Tuesday June 3.

Music industry veteran King passed away from liver disease in a Detroit, Michigan hospital at the age of 56.

He won a Grammy for his work on 2003 album The Eminem Show, and the Real Slim Shady star has now spoken out to share his memories of their time in the studio together.

He says, "I'm very sad to hear about Steve King's passing. I had the honour and pleasure of working with Steve on many projects in my earlier years and he was a greatly talented engineer, musician and friend. I will miss Steve's friendly way and sense of humour the most. My condolences go out to his family and all that knew Steve".

As well as The Eminem Show, King also worked with the hip-hop star on his 8 Mile movie soundtrack.

Eminem has beaten the likes of Michael Jackson and Kanye West to top Spotify's Father's Day chart.

The 'Monster' rapper who has been known to rap about his daughter Hailie, is the most-streamed dad on Spotify in the UK as well as the most-streamed artist of all time.

Coldplay's Chris Martin, who has two children with Gwyneth Paltrow, is just behind Eminem as the second most-streamed father.

Eminem wasn't the only rapper to feature in the list, with Kanye West also making the top ten.

Rock bands put in a strong appearance in the top ten, with Kings of Leon in third place, The Rolling Stones at number eight and Foo Fighters just making it in.

King of Pop Michael Jackson is a place behind Michael Bublé at number six.

Eminem's daughter is officially a high-school grad.

Hailie Jade recently bagged her diploma from Michigan's Chippewa Valley High School with honors. She reportedly graduated Summa Cum Laude (a GPA of 3.9 or above).

According to the school's district website, Hailie was an active student as a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club, Key Club, Volleyball, and Student Council. Upon graduating, Hailie will be attending the University of Michigan this fall with rumored classmate, Lourdes Maria, also known as Madonna's daughter.



Although Hailie has managed to stay out of the limelight, Eminem's love for her has not. He gushed about his daughter on "Hailie's Song" off the 2002 LP The Eminem Show.

Hailie, who was also crowned homecoming queen of her class this year, gave credit to both her parents, Marshall (Eminem) and Kimberly Mathers, as being the "most influential" in her life. She wrote, "They have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have."

Founded in 1999, Eminem and Shady Records will celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary with its fifteenth release: ShadyXV, a two-CD compilation featuring an album of the label’s greatest hits, including classics such as 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” plus an album of new material from Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, D-12 and Yelawolf as well as special guest-artist collaborations. ShadyXV (Shady Records/Interscope Records), set for release November 28, 2014, will be preceded by a new Eminem single, “Guts Over Fear.” The song features Sia and was produced by Emile Haynie (Grammy winner for Best Rap Album for Eminem’s Recovery). “Guts Over Fear” is out today, August 25th.

The new single is currently featured in the trailer for Sony Pictures’ upcoming film, the Anton Fuqua-directed “The Equalizer,” out September 26th. Viewers got a sneak peak of the track when a trailer for the film was released on August 15. “Guts Over Fear” will run during the closing credits of the film.

Shady Records was founded in 1999 by Eminem, the biggest-selling artist in hip-hop history, and his manager Paul Rosenberg. The first artist signed, D12, hit double platinum and #1 with their debut album, Devil’s Night. 2002 saw the soundtrack album to 8 Mile open with a #1 berth on the charts and sell quadruple platinum, with “Lose Yourself” becoming the first hip-hop song to win an Academy Award (Best Original Song). Shady artist 50 Cent then debuted with the #1 Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2003), an eight times platinum smash and the fastest-selling debut in history.

Eminem is seeing diamonds. The Detroit rhymer has achieved another first in his career. He’s the first artist to receive two RIAA Digital Single Diamond Awards for a combined 10 million sales and streams.

Em was given the honor for his two songs “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna, off his 2010 album Recovery. By the way, that album is 4 times platinum with 4.5 millions sales in the U.S. and over 10 million worldwide.

RIAA Chairman and CEO Cary Sherman went on Twitter to formally announce Eminem’s prestigious honor. “Congratulations to @Eminem – the only artist in @RIAA Gold & Platinum history to earn 2 Digital Diamond Awards!” he tweeted.

This is some major news and a crowning achievement for Slim Shady. But judging by the photo, it looks like this is just another day for Em. It seems like the 42-year-old rapper is over it and ready to move on. Come on Em, gives us a smile.

In addition to his two new Digital Diamond song trophies, Eminem has two Diamond album honors for 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002’s The Eminem Show. When it comes to digital song sales overall, the “Lose Yourself” rapper has sold 31 million tunes among 10 different songs. This achievement places him at No. 6 on the all-time list, behind Kanye West with 31.5 million and ahead of Flo Rida with 29.5 million.

Eminem just released a new single “Phenomenal,” which will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming boxing movie Southpaw. The film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, 50 Cent, Rita Ora, Forest Whitaker and Tyrese Gibson, hits theaters on July 24. You can listen to the song below.
