Eminem was photographed leaving Le Meurice Hotel in Paris yesterday, on the first stop of the European promotional tour for his upcoming album, 'Recovery.'

The reclusive Detroit rapper reportedly stayed in the hotel's $17k-a-night penthouse suite, generally booked by more public celebrities like Beyonce and Kanye West, and was also captured with longtime-collaborator Royce da 5'9" and his DJ, Alchemist, in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Today, Em was transported via a Mercedes motorcade to make an appearance on Paris's Skyrock FM. His promotional tour continues through June 4, when he will appear on BBC's 'Live Lounge,' before finishing things off with a performance on 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross,' airing later that day.

Em took to Twitter to announce the 'Recovery' album artwork earlier this week, and also tweeted to announce that the video for his new single, 'Not Afraid,' will be released on Saturday, June 5.

'Recovery' is in stores June 22.

Just looking back at Relapse I realise how much of it was a let down, the only proper songs on there were We Made You and Beautiful, I'm glad Dre aint producing this one, Eminem has his own style, he doesnt need Dre's style creeping in

The rapper's latest release holds off competition from Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More, which climbs up one spot to second place.

Oasis's new compilation album Time Flies rises up to third, while Glee: The Music, Volume III and Miley Cyrus's new album Can't Be Tamed take fourth and fifth respectively.

Eminem has stormed to the top of the albums chart this week.

Recovery, the rapper's follow-up to last year's comeback effort Relapse, becomes his sixth disc to reach No.1 in the UK.

Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers III - also places two tracks in the top ten of this week's singles chart: 'Not Afraid' at five and 'Love The Way You Lie', featuring Rihanna, at seven.

Oasis's Time Flies compilation slips to two, while Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. vaults from 40 to three, matching its previous chart high.

Meanwhile, West London rapper Example debuts at four with sophomore effort Won't Go Quietly, home to the hit singles 'Watch The Sun Come Up', 'Kickstarts' and the title track. His previous album, 2007's What We Made, has never charted inside the top 75.

Miley Cyrus's third full-length album, Can't Be Tamed, also debuts inside the top ten this week, landing at eight - the singer's highest position yet in the UK.

Not so keen on Going Through Changes and No Love but the rest is strong, he's definitely getting back to his best :)

7 is pretty good. Like most artists get about 3/4, so it's above average. His sales have been so phenomenal. Can't believe how HARD Miley flopped though, she has a huge hit single and major promo and only managed 125k. The music industry is in such a bad way at the minute.

Yeah I've been saying for years he needs to do more collaborations, don't get me wrong he holds songs on his own amazingly well, but looking at the three you've mentioned above it just makes sesne to do more.

Rapper Eminem debuts his latest album “Recovery” at the top of the Billboard album charts this week with a whopping 741,000 copies sold. It is the biggest sales week for an album after AC/DC’s “Black Ice” sold 784,000 copies upon release in October 2008.

"Recovery," which is the biggest selling debut album of 2010 so far, is Eminem’s sixth straight number one debut and sixth over all chart topper. The only time the “Stan” rapper missed out on number one was when his first album "Slim Shady" peaked at number two back in 1999.

Among the biggest hip hop acts, only Jay Z has more number one albums (11) than Eminem.

"Recovery" has also netted 255,000 downloads. It is the second biggest on record since Coldplay released "Viva La Vida" that rang in 288,000 downloads upon release in 2008.

Of course, Eminem tops the Digital Songs chart this week, too, as the single “Love The Way You Lie,” a collaboration with Rihanna, debuts at number one with 338,000 downloads.

Pop’s current party girl Ke$ha is losing some of her potency as “Your Love Is My Drug” skids down from number six to number eight. Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" also loses steam, sliding two notches to settle at number nine.

Jason Derulo is quite happy to be “Ridin’ Solo” with his latest single breaking into the top ten from number 16.

For the first couple of seconds its like slow motion "awwwww" with Rihanna singing, then a few seconds later Tony's strangling Jed as Eminem begins xD That's what's so good about Love The Way You Lie (and probably Stan) - there is a duality between the soft womans voice, then the angry Eminem's voice. :D

Eminem has ended Katy Perry's month-long reign atop the ARIA singles chart.

His track 'Love The Way You Lie' - a collaboration with Rihanna - rockets from five to number one this week to become his seventh Aussie chart-topper.

Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull hold steady at two with 'I Like It', while Perry slips to three with 'California Gurls'.

Meanwhile, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy climbs from six to five with 'Billionaire', his debut solo single.

Director Joseph Kahn confirmed on Twitter yesterday that he was directing the video. However, he didn't name names. "Got off a call," he posted. "Emergency music video. Gonna write and turn in treatment in three hours to shoot asap." He apparently wrote it in just 45 minutes.

The source said Fox and Monaghan would shoot their scenes later this week in Los Angeles.

Kahn directed Eminem's videos for "Without Me" and "We Made You." He also directed Rihanna in a Covergirl ad. He most recently helmed the video for Kylie Minogue's "All the Lovers," which features dozens of beautiful men and women gyrating and making out in nothing but white undergarments.

Shakira also fares extremely well, as her "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" comes in at #3. A lot of the usual suspects are still represented on the Ultimate Chart. For example, Justin Bieber rules just as he does on the Hot 100, though his highest-charting tune on the Ultimate Chart remains "Baby," even though "Somebody to Love" is finishing higher on the Billboard version. It wouldn't be shocking if "Baby" earned that spot due to the surge in YouTube views of the video. Bieber's YouTube rival Lady Gaga is also well represented on the Ultimate Chart, with three songs ("Alejandro," "Bad Romance" and "Telephone") all in the top 20.

The Ultimate Chart also tracks the most ubiquitous artists based on airplay, streams, searches and social-network followers and friends. Eminem tops that chart as well, followed by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Shakira and Drake, which is a deadly accurate assessment of the pop music landscape.

Director Joseph Kahn updated his Twitter over the weekend with the exciting news that the music video for Eminem and Rihanna’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’ has been wrapped up. He also confirms that the video “premieres in a week!”.

The video is reportedly based on the way Eminem’s relationship with ex-wife Kim played out in real life. ‘Lost’ star Dominic Monaghan plays the male lead role and Megan Fox is rumoured to play the female lead, although this has yet to be confirmed. Monaghan was spotted on the video set this week (Thursday, July 22nd).

In leaked photos this week, Rihanna is seen standing in hot pants and a tank top and leather jacket in front of a burning house. Reports also state that Eminem “was later seen performing together with Rihanna in front of the burning house”. As of yet, there is no official premiere date, but watch this space!

“I knew if he sent me a record there must be something to it,” Rihanna explained of how she was brought on board. “It couldn’t just be, ‘Oh, Duh! She was in that relationship so we have to get her.’

“The lyrics were so deep, so beautiful and intense. It’s something that I understood, something I connected with,” Rihanna added.

Eminem picked up 2 awards at the Teen Choice Awards, Best Rap Album for RELAPSE and best Rap Artist.

Eminem and Rihanna have prevented Taio Cruz from scoring his first No.1 on the ARIA singles chart.

Cruz's 'Dynamite' leaps five places this week to second position, but is held off the top spot by the American pair's 'Love The Way You Lie', which notches up its fourth week at the summit.

British singer-songwriter-producer Cruz also peaked at number two Down Under with 'Break Your Heart' earlier this year.

Meanwhile, behind Eminem, Rihanna and Cruz, Enrique Iglesias slips to three with Pitbull collaboration 'I Like It'.

Katy Perry places two tracks in this week's top ten, debuting at four with 'Teenage Dream' to notch up her sixth Aussie top ten hit, but falling from four to seven with former chart-topper 'California Gurls'.
