Eminem has seemingly confirmed plans to release a new album next year.

The rapper listed a new baseball cap on his official online store, which lists the years he released a solo hit album.

However, the list of dates ends with 2013, suggesting that the star's eighth studio record will land next year.

The baseball cap - named the Eminem Baseball Tribute Champ Hat - is described as being sold "in honour of the big games and the hometown team's return to The D".

The side of the cap sees embroidered text, which the description explains is "dedicated to the landmark Eminem solo albums".

The new collection will serve as the follow-up to 2010's Recovery, which topped the UK chart and US Billboard 200.

Eminem recently teamed up with Pink for new cut 'Here Comes the Weekend', which features on her latest album The Truth About Love.

“Detroit Rubber,” executive produced by Eminem and Paul Rosenberg of Shady Films, among others, was approved for more than $53,000 on nearly $170,000 of projected Michigan spending. It will chronicle two young small-business owners, Rick Williams and Roland “Ro” Coit of the Burn Rubber sneaker shop in Royal Oak.

“Detroit Rubber” will be available on LOUD, a premium YouTube channel. Christos Moisides, a well-known member of the local film community, will direct and produce the project.

Digital income. It's a topic that continues to cause fits in the music industry, and if there's one big moment when record companies probably realized that a new day had dawned in their business, it was September 3, 2010, the day the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals handed down a huge decision in a path-breaking case involving the music of hip-hop superstar Eminem.

Two years after that appellate ruling, many other musicians have since brought claims over digital income.

Now, the case has settled. On Monday, FBT Productions and Universal Music Group informed a California federal court a resolution had been reached, putting to rest a dispute that has been closely followed throughout the industry.

If the birth of Napster pointed to change in the way songs would be distributed online, and if the rise of iTunes signaled that money could still be made in the selling of music, it was the 2010 appellate ruling in FBT Productions v. Aftermath that offered the fearsome prospect for many record labels that artists would soon be entitled to a much larger share of revenue generated by the exploitation of sound recordings.

The case pitted Eminem's production team of Mark and Jeff Bass against Eminem's record label.

Originally filed in 2007, a jury verdict two years later was a defeat for the plaintiffs, but then the case went on appeal.

At the 9th Circuit, the judges ruled that a lower court had erred by not deeming the label's agreements with third-parties download providers as licenses instead of sales. For the music industry, the difference was enormous. Under typical licensing or leasing provisions of artist-label contracts, about 50 percent of collected revenue gets handed over to artists. Under sales provisions, it's usually not more than 15 percent.

After the ruling came out, the big question remaining in the FBT Productions case was the damages for improper royalty treatment. The case was remanded back to a district court as the parties, FBT Productions and UMG, continued to quibble with each other.

After much delay over disputed packaging deductions, witness testimony and additional claims brought to the dispute, another trial was on track for April, 2013. The proceedings would have detailed the millions of dollars the Bass brothers felt they were owed plus the alleged way that a big music conglomerate like UMG apportions revenues between its foreign and domestic divisions before sharing the proceeds with revenue participants. In June, the judge in the case blasted UMG for attempting to "dupe" him.

But on Monday, the five-year-old lawsuit ended on private terms, and according to the plaintiffs' lawyer Richard Busch at King & Ballow, to the mutual satisfaction of the parties.

Other musicians continue to fight to apply the 9th Circuit ruling on "licenses" to their own contracts. Class actions from the likes of The Temptations and Rob Zombie are still being litigated. Other artists such as REO Speedwagon, Kenny Rogers, Sister Sledge, James Taylor and on and on have brought a barrage of lawsuits on this front. Some entities in the music business such as Sony Music have made class action settlements. Many others are fighting, pointing to contractual differences and recent agreements that could interfere with the hopes of artists attempting to put a bigger hand in the digital jar.

What is being billed as the final album of Hip-Hop crooner Nate Dogg will be released in the first half of 2013, through a new deal between Seven Arts Music and United Media and Music Group.

Seven Arts Music announced its release schedule to AllHipHop.com today (November 26).

Representatives confirmed the label will be dropping a new album by Nate Dogg titled Nate Dogg: It’s A Wonderful Life.

Nate Dogg: It’s A Wonderful Life will feature all of the unreleased material recorded by Nate Dogg, in addition to collaborations with artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z.

Eminem's spokesperson has denied rumours that the rapper's daughter slammed Taylor Swift on Twitter.

An account purporting to belong to Hailie Mathers, 16, had criticised Swift after news of her relationship with One Direction star Harry Styles became public.

The messages accused Swift of "wh*ring around" and referred to Swift's latest hit single with the tweet: "I am never, ever, everrrrr, listening to your music againnnn @taylorswift13. LIKE EVER."

The person behind the account apologised for the comments after they picked up widespread attention, and has now shut down the page.

However, Eminem's representative has confirmed to E! News that the account did not belong to Mathers.

Swift and Styles have recently been seen spending time together after One Direction's Madison Square Garden concert and on a date at the zoo.

according to my probably not-so-accurate calculations, the album will be announced any time now.
from relapse to recovery was 399 days. during that time, he made relapse 2 and recovery so lets just say half that time was spent on recovery. tracklist was released may 27th so the album was completely done anywhere between 30-50 days before release. so that narrows it down to about 170 days working on recovery. its been 241 days since he announced he was working on the next album so i expect an announcement anytime.

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Fashion photographer Jenny Risher knows the most stylish images of the last century didn’t happen with clothes on a hanger — or even on a traditional model.

That’s why the fashion photographer had some of the entertainment world’s top icons pose for her new book “Heart Soul Detroit: Conversations on the Motor City.”

It features an array of images from Eminem to Iggy Pop, Lily Tomlin, Lee Iacocca, and fashion designer Anna Sui. They all share memories of the place where they grew up — the Motor City.

Risher started working on her tome in 2010 with help from friend and supermodel Veronica Webb, who also hails from Detroit. Risher, who now lives in New York, is a native of Mount Clemens who remembers Eastern Market weekends and her college years at the College for CreativeStudies.

“I said to her (Webb), wouldn’t it be cool if someone did a book of all the amazing people who have came out of Detroit,” Risher said. “For three months the idea just kept bugging me and I couldn’t let it go so I thought I would make a list of all the people I would love to photograph from the area and reach out to them, reach out to five and if they said no, leave it, but all those five said yes.”

But they just kept saying “yes.”

“Heart Soul Detroit: Conversations on the Motor City” was published by Momentum Books in Royal Oak. The show of Risher’s work opens with a book launch Friday at CCS’s Center Galleries from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the Manoogian Visual Resource Center, 201 E. Kirby, Detroit, including a performance and remarks from Motown musician Martha Reeves, one of Risher’s subjects. The exhibit will be on display Jan. 25 to March 2 before moving to the Historical Museum from July 13 to Sept. 29.

Eminem has been confirmed as the headline act for a new Scottish music festival.

The rapper will top the bill at the Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park, which will take place over ten days from August 20.


"His performance at T in the Park and his previous stadium show at Hampden were spectacular, so this gig will be one of the events of the year," said Geoff Ellis, chief executive of organisers DF Concerts.

"As it's one of the most important music destinations in the world, we're also excited about what else we have to announce for Summer Sessions and there will be more news soon."

Eminem will play the Glasgow Summer Sessions ahead of his headline slots at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.

The US star is expected to release a new album later this year, after merchandise on his official store indicated that he will return to music in 2013.

Although neither side has addressed the gossip, reports claim Shady has already tried to add Bobby Ray to his roster.

I was unaware that producer Jim Jonsin had paperwork on rapper B.O.B., but that seems to be the case. It seems that B.O.B. is signed to Jim in some form or fashion – forgive my ignorance – and that’s been a very successful situation for the most part. Eminem is set to release a new album this year, according to the boss of his record label.

Shady Records' Paul Rosenberg spoke to Billboard about the new album, explaining that the 40-year-old rapper is "far into the process" of recording.

"We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013," Rosenberg said. "He's been working on it for some time."

Rosenberg added that the release would be post-Memorial Day, meaning that it could be revealed anytime after May 27.

He also spoke about upcoming tour dates, saying: "We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we're trying to see what else lines up."

It was recently revealed that Eminem - real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III - will be performing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK this year.

In an interview with Montreality, 50's deejay, DJ Whoo Kid, spoke about the upcoming release.

Joe Budden's battle with drugs is well-documented. Not only has the Slaughterhouse MC rhymed about it during the duration of his career, he put his struggles to get clean on front street as a star of VH1's reality series "Love & Hip Hop: New York."

In the show, Joe had the support of his mom, girlfriend Kailyn and ex-girl Tahiry, but that's not all. On his quest for sobriety, Budden also had Eminem to lean on. Em, of course, has had his own public battles with drugs, which he rhymed about on his 2009 LP Relapse and the follow-up Recovery.

"Those conversations are confidential between us, but we definitely spoke about it," the "Pump It Up" MC said when he appeared on Wednesday's (April 3) "RapFix Live." "He shared some of his experiences; I've shared some of mine. It's a real unique situation, because we're signed there and he's one of the greatest rappers ever in my opinion, but as just a person, it's really like family."

On "Castles," a track from his latest album No Love Lost, Joe raps about the detrimental effect the party drug molly had on his life. "The funny sh--, them mollys were cool when we all were doing 'em/ But nobody recalled when I was the only one they were ruining," he spits.

"It helped with sex. People should've been doing that without molly," Budden said of the supposed pros of the drug. "For me, it really was just all bad. I never had time to have sex. It was doing too much to my brain. Once it starts doing that, a bad string of events start to happen with life. Life started to become unmanageable at that point, so it was time."

The rapper recalled a run-in he had with the police as a result of taking the drug. After a neighbor called the cops because Joe was playing his music too loud, Budden almost made the situation worse. "A routine noise complaint turned into me arguing with the cop. I ended up resisting arrest, I was about to jump off a balcony and go hide through bushes," he said, telling the story.

In retrospect, that was the moment that made the well-tuned lyricist understand the severity of his problem. Lucky for him, he had a great support system, which included his closest friends and, of course, his label, Shady Records. "When it comes to the TV show, when it comes to being clean and sober and just living correctly, they're there," he said.

..I'm going to google the full lyrics because I didn't catch them all but the impact of that track is really quite something, it's good from the start but half way through, it kind of hits you with a sledgehammer and like Caitlin said, I don't usually get that much from hip hop...although I have a few times but it's usually been with Kanye....but hip hop and Eminem is about lyrics though isn't it and always a really deep and profound 'message'...

Holy **** what an album. Its exceeded my expectations. Its up there with mmlp1 for me. Bad Guy is by far and away my favorite amd the Nate Reuss feature is outstanding. Headlights made me cry such a raw and honest song.

I was someone who actually liked the singles despite the fact they received abit of hate. The album is alot better than them though, which I am glad about. Wouldn't say it is MMLPI standard, which makes the name a little disappointing, but it still was better than I thought. Generally a solid album and Hip Hop Release of the year imo.
