Sir Alex Ferguson is to become a Harvard academic after agreeing to a “long-term teaching position” at the Ivy League university.
Britain’s most successful ever manager will return to the Boston institution next month to lecture senior executives from around the world, less than a year after giving its Business School an unprecedented insight in to his coaching blueprint.
The 72-year-old, who retired from management last summer after 26 years in charge of Manchester United, will begin his new role as part of a new programme entitled ‘The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports’ in early May.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity and privilege to contribute to such a respected centre of excellence,” Ferguson said.
“The time I have already spent at Harvard has been a stimulating experience and I look forward to developing my relationship and activities with the students, faculty and friends of the Harvard Business School community.”
In 2012, Harvard Business School professor Anita Elberse examined Ferguson’s management approach to develop a case study called ‘Sir Alex Ferguson: Managing Manchester United’.
Following that, she and Ferguson collaborated on an analysis of his methods, resulting in a Harvard Business Review article in October of 2013. The Scot also participated in a number of Elberse’s classes.
“We look forward to welcoming Sir Alex Ferguson on the HBS campus to share his remarkable leadership journey, and contribute to our Executive Education participants’ ability to make a profound difference in the world,” Elberse said.

Fellaini has the pace of an 'effin donkey. On Tuesday, he was basically like a kid who won a competition to play alongside his heroes. And that kid just so happens to have the pace of Emile Heskey and the ability of Roy Keane with no legs.
Hopefully Fergie does cut all ties with United. Don't want him to have a say over Moyes' future, nor a successor if called for.

Goal on a PK Yaya Toure.
In other news the sky is blue and the grass on the pitch is green.
So clumsy by Fonte, don't know what he was playing at
Drew.

Such a **** atmosphere, the players making more noise than the fans celebrating

Hardly surprising. The home atmosphere at all of the top teams is pretty meh. It took united falling to Midtable to get OT better
No Rodriguez for the world cup then, pack your bags Andy
Drew.
05-04-2014, 12:10 PM
Oh no, if that is J Rods ligaments then he'll probably be out of the WC, this is terrible.

Hodgson probably relieved that he won't have to let him down now

Well we won't even get out of the group-stage, so no penalties will occur.

This idiot no matter what will never give nani a chance.
Young will probs be injured, valencia injured, mata injured and adnan injured but moyes will probs play fellaini on the wing and leave nani on the bench.

I hope Kagawa isn't starting this match because he won't be played at Munich. Don't really car about Nani. No chance he is here next season anyway.

Don't care about Nani
Looool you don't care about our best winger and one of our very few genuine world class players please go. Nani and Shinji are exactly the players needed to unlock Munich

Tomkins and Reid will do the job without him, we are not the league clean sheet leaders for nothing. If we need him we can call on Roger Johnson as well, Suarez won't know what hes up against

How does Nani ever get match fitness and why did he get a new contract
Jemal
05-04-2014, 02:23 PM
I was talking anout young.
Nani has been fit for the last five matches but moyes decides mot to bring him on. Instead he keeps playing wingers like young and valencia lol.
The game vs bayern was made for nani not ashley young to come on.
Why give him a five year deal if your not gomna play him. Idiotic manager.

Young loooool what a joke he is
Go ask Portugal how good Nani is where he consistently outperforms Ronnie for them in before you post goal stats smh. Don't know why i bother with the person who created the legendary Paul Pogba line

Ashley Young summed up
Jemal
05-04-2014, 02:27 PM
The last time nani got consistently played.. He ended up winning player of the season for united, shortlisted for the ballon dor, most assists in the league, most goals + assists in the league, nominated for pfa young player and shudda won if wilshere wasnt so overrated that year. Hes been unfairly treated imo at united. He had hes best season like i just said but still got dropped in the ucl final vs barca lol.
Since then he hasnt been trusted or played consistenly. Sometimes because of injuries and sometimes because of managers. But i can bet my life if nani was trusted like valencia is he would be close to a world beater.
One criticism i can probably give nani is that he performs in the big games but doesnt in the small matches which is unusual.
