So disappointed in Everton, can't believe I was quite happy for them to get 4th when their fans are like that. An absolute joke.
City are there for the taking though, pretty confident they won't be taking maximum points from their last two games.
Who want's to be in the champions league anyway? you can keep your commercial competition and stick it up your Brown tea-towel holder, it's a fake competition anyway, most of the teams in it ain't even champions, so don't call it the champions league.
Europa league will do us, we're not greedy.
Everton and Hull in the Europa league, Thursday nights will be special next season.
All down to us to win Liverpool the league then
Though mind you neither us or Villa have anything to play for now, especially not us away from home
Oh Villa are away as well, not sure I can see City dropping points
Locke.

I think if your fans just walk out their homes to attend that would be nice x
I still think there's gonna be another twist in the title race, I think if Liverpool can win the last two they'll win it.
Man city don't look in that great of form to me, Everton didn't play that well today and yet Man City were hanging on and but for Joe Hart could have conceded about 4 or 5 goals today. I think their gonna slip up.

It's never even 'THAT' empty, apart from league cup games, Sunderland was shocking though. Every club has empty seats at times though tbf, never understood why ours gets talked about the most. We've sold out all of our games this season.

Would think Liverpool were swapped with Arsenal the way they are wanked over by the Media this season.
Said it before and I'll say it again..Arsene>>
Yeah but if being that thrifty means you're never likely to challenge for the title does it deserve that much credit, Arsenal do actually have the means to spend big and give themselves a better chance they just don't want to
Drew.
03-05-2014, 11:45 PM
United spend almost £80m and are a mile of the top 4 with a league winning side, just using them as an example.. shows how well Wenger does to continually spend less and loses star players every year but still remains in the top 4.
Shaun
04-05-2014, 02:05 AM
I dunno, I'd say that's more out of the competition turning to **** than anything else. Aside from Everton, no one was ever going to come close to us.
Pards has made a 19 mil profit compared to who he has brought when he took over at Newcastle and got them into Europe in that time, spent 2 Mil this year and are in the top half in one of the most competitive seasons to date, The Newcastle fans need to be careful what they wish for

It's a bit of both the players under performing & the wrong manager, the players proved that yesterday. United talking about needing to spend near to £200m just to get back up into the top 4 and challenge again which proves my point. Spurs & Liverpool have both out spent us by a ton and Spurs have only managed to come top 4 once and Liverpool dropped away for years, even Chelsea whilst spending millions came 6th a couple of years ago. Wenger keeping top 4 secured every year whilst having a new stadium built, paying it off & losing key players every summer deserves credit.

Why are you spending £200m on new players for, if it was solely down to the Manager?
You got rid of the manager so by what your saying you don't need new players. so why waste £200m?

If we had a manager that spent 30m on an actual midfielder instead of one of the most pathetic footballers to wear the shirt and one that wouldn't spend 40m on someone just to push him out of position due to being gutless towards Rooney then we wouldn't be this far from 4th. No one was talking about how poor the squad was until they magically became inept under Moyes. It's not all down to him obviously, but to think we would be in the same position regardless of who was in charge is bull**** only Moyes said and believed.

Players have underperformed. However, hard to expect them to perform in a way as the training methods are mostly running... :umm2: ... and the tactics are based on 'how can we stop the opposition' rather than 'how can we hurt the opposition', Add to that a manager that writes you off whilst he's tactically inept.
I'm not sure if we will actually spend £200 million this summer, tbh.
About Wenger, it's a bizarre one in a sense. Had money to spend for a few summers apparently, yet haven't done so. He has done well to maintain top 4, but some fans do blame him for the loss of key players. Still feel he should of at least won a few cups in those eight years without a trophy.
I do feel he can't take you any further, though. Although it does seem like he'll be staying on.
Brother Leon
04-05-2014, 02:39 PM
Any United fan who thinks we are really spending 200m is dreaming. We've been hearing this **** for years. Just fortunately we had Sir Alex so we could be outspent and still see off Chelsea/City.

Yeah it probably is down to him not spending money and being ambitious enough that some players end up wanting to leave, i know that was the case with RVP. But to be able to lose these types of players year after year that carried the club the previous year and then to be able to finish top 4 season after season and compete is pretty impressive. Frustrating at the same time that we've not pushed on but it's only a matter of time before we do finally have a ridiculous summer when we spend loads and go for it.. I wouldn't be against a new manager coming in but i wouldn't mind seeing Wenger spending big this summer and seeing what he can do with the side over another season or two.
Ryan57
04-05-2014, 02:48 PM

He's doine well and in the period when the stadium was being built his performance was IMO comparable to anyone but he's being passed by young manager and serous needs to start to think about this legacy.

That's just a childish fantasy comeback by you though isn't it?
Better than going in circles. I'll put something about Moyes, you'll respond with it's the players, I'll then say it's Moyes and then you'll say it's the players.
There will never be an agreement.
Funny thing is everyone always makes such a big deal of the matches between the top clubs and how 'these are the games you need to win to win the league' yet Chelsea have beaten City and Liverpool twice and taken 4 points off Arsenal. Their problem is not the massive matches but getting the important results against the weaker teams who don't find it all that hard to contain Chelsea

Surprised Monk has been appointed on a 3 year contract so quickly when they've clearly been quite a bit worse since Laudrup
Suppose they weren't that likely to get someone much better though
Big Sam would have gone in a heartbeat
Swansea are even more fussy about the type of football they play than our fans are, Big Sam's usual 30% possession would not sit well with them
Samuel.

Well that was a waste of defending for over an hour, may as well have had a go.
Boring
Sorry folks but we will not beat them
Villa really are a poor team
Boring
Sorry folks but we will not beat them
I think you can beat them, as long as you don't play with the same tactics as Villa, Man City are under pressure to win, so why not put some pressure on them and see if they crack, you have a good enough striker to give them problems so get the ball up to him and get some support up their with him and take the game to them.
Fear get's you nowhere
We lost 6-0 at the Etihad when we had the prospect of a cup final to play for. Now we've secured safety, had our last home game and had our award ceremony. The season is over.
We'll have a good try at spoiling the City party but its very unlikely

I think you should just be thankful your going in to the last day of season with the possibility of winning the title, when was the last time you experienced that?
I'm jealous, the only last day of the season I've experienced in the past 25+ years is survival from relegation (twice) and both them days were so exiting and memories I still have to this day.
It will be an exiting day so just enjoy it and win or lose you've had a good go.
Locke.
07-05-2014, 09:10 PM
Yeah, we've never been this close in my lifetime (or since i've watched football at least.. since like 99/00). I'm quite happy with how this season has gone no matter what happens on sunday, I knew we'd be in contention for 4th this year but no way did I think we'd ever be in the title race, especially not going into the final day of the season. It just hurts the way we've let it go, I can't imagine how Utd fans felt when Aguero got that last minute goal a couple of years ago, think I'd have killed myself in that situation
Mr Scouse himself slipping and ending any hope of the long awaited title or Aguero crushing your dreams with the last kick of the season
Its hard to choose who had it the worst in those scenarios, but at least united can say they knocked Liverpool of their perch and City are to small to worry about, so that probably settles it
Brother Leon
07-05-2014, 09:25 PM
The Aguero goal was an absolute low. That feeling...
Thank **** we went on and won the next one though.
The Aguero goal was an absolute low. That feeling...
Sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth, that might of hurt on that day but you've also experienced the joy in those situations aswell, the 99 European cup final comes to mind.

David Platt: Cocky Northern Bastard as a utility player. Best position as a wing back.
Chesney: Average midfield player. But can come in and do a job. Reliable and loyal.
Peter: Very hit and miss player. When he's pissed can't string a pass together to save his life. When sober, decent player. Poor engine. Generally gets pissed at half time. Midfielder.
Tim: Centre forward. Reminds me of Connor Salmon a bit.
Dennis: Centre back. Wise head, slow legs. Great reading of the game.
Rob: Can play all across the front three. Actually could of been on the team sheet. Great player. Probably be better having him on the left and Kev on the bench.
