AMAZING season :love: Loved the outcasts twist, some amazing castaways and the dynamics in the final few episodes are amazing in the way the votes are so unpredictable and nothing seems set in stone until the actual castaway is eliminated at tribal council (even if I didn't like some of the results). LOVED IT :love:

The premerge is certainly watchable to see Hantz get owned but post merge is dire.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Borneo today. It's really good and it's really interesting to sort of go back in time from Pearl Islands to Borneo and see how it all started (even though I've only seen the one season). It's good and it's nice to see them trying things out (like the way Jeff explains Tribal Council ect). So much drama still and it's interesting that there's more of a survival/group dynamic aspect so far compared to Pearl Islands which was focused a bit more on challenges.

Rewatching Gabon<3

Just finished watching Micronesia moments ago.

Holy ****, this season might have just surpassed Borneo as my favourite of all time, which is a hard feat to accomplish. It is near-flawless, and I am so pleased with the outcome. The Black Widow Brigade may be my favourite alliance in Survivor history :love: and Amanda and Parvati are my favourite combination of people to make it to the final tribal council. It was fun to watch Parvati put herself on the map as one of the greatest players of all time, and it's made me so excited for Heroes vs. Villains. Especially since Parvati, Amanda and Cirie all come back...and James but w/e, I heard that particular appearance ruins his Survivor legacy, so I'm all for it in that case. I really got came to hate James by the end of this season.

There were so many great moments at tribal council this time around. Cirie vs. Penner, Amy's last plead (totally emotional :(), Ozzy's blindside, Jason's blindside and Erik giving his immunity necklace to Natalie were all so exciting to watch.

The boot order definitely correlates to how good this season turned out because a lot of unlikable people went early (Mikey. B and Joel (moreso Joel)), as well as those who really weren't that interesting (Fairplay, Mary, Yau-Man). But there were also some gems in a cast full of already brilliant players (Tracy, Kathy & Jason :love:), and I know this may be an unpopular opinion but I really enjoyed Penner this time around. I know he probably would've annoyed me had he not been injured, but his story this time around was really fun to follow.

Such a fantastic season, and I'm glad Jeff gave it recognition as the best season to date as he read out the votes (even though he tends to do that a lot :p). And may Natalie Bolton's jury question go down in history :love: As well as the formation of the first fake idol, Eliza: "It's a ****ing stick!" :joker:

Agree with the poster above, re Gabon. Great setting for a great season. Along with Marquasas, Amazon, Vanuatu & China is one of the seasons I can put on anytime and will never get bored of it. I def love other seasons also, but those 5 I would say have watched at least 5/6 times each.

Have done so many rewatches of seasons over the years, well pre-Hantz era ones at least. Think all of the first 18 seasons I've watched at least twice since it's original airing, with the exception of Fiji - have only managed to drag myself back to watch that once since, lol.

Have had the pleasure of chatting with Susie Smith a couple of times from that season and she is such a genuinely nice lady.

Have only ever rewatched one season in the post Russell H era. And that was literally only just finished about a week ago: S25 Phillippines.

I always quite liked the season at the time, but as time went on I wanted to see if it stood up as genuinely good or if it was just a case of it seeming to be a good season because it came hot on the heels of 3/4 seasons of absolute crap, esp Redip**** Island, SP & OW. After all, anything that would follow those 3 seasons was going to seem good in comparison, but would it stack up over time?

My conclusion: yes!

It is a very solid and entertaining season from start to finish, with some terrific characters, ranging from the maddening to the insightful, well constructed storyarcs and (comparitively speaking in terms of modern Survivor) was well edited. One of the few seasons in the past 5/6 years that has been put together with craft and a bit of love.

Definitely worth the rewatch.

Episode 3 was so unbelievably boring aside from Naonka grappling the clue from Kelly and ruining the bananas :p I had to stop just to get over how dull it was, and I distinctly remember that episode being the reason I stopped watching Nicaragua whilst it was airing.

Definitely enjoying the season, Cirie & Aras are my favourites so far. Am on episode 11. Like Terry as well but know his days are numbered.

It's been okay so far, predictable who's leaving each episode I guess though. Some interesting characters like Shane and Danielle too have kept me watching. Think there's a Bruce med-evac next ep though not sure! No spoilers on final eps please! What's everyone else's thoughts on Panama?

So I decided to watch Survivor Cagayan since 1) it's Brain vs. Brawn vs. Beauty so I'm already used to that format from this current Survivor season and 2) I heard about Woo before (from BB16 references) and I was curious.

Started just 2 days ago and then binge watched it last night because it was so good. :joker: Like Kaoh Rong is entertaining and all (probably more so for big moments) but I enjoyed the characters in Cagayan so much more as a whole. Plus the boot order was phenomenal.

Ok so I finished SJDS just now. I could've guessed this was a favorite here just by seeing who made it to the final 4/5. :joker: (almost all females / mainly non-strategic players / etc.)

However, no shade I liked it as well. Not as much as Cagayan but pretty close. I found everyone who made it around the end to be likable and plenty of messy characters that made it entertaining. A lot of entertaining episodes throughout (mainly right before and right after the merge tho).

I think one of the few problems is I didn't LOVE too many people from this cast.

Natalie definitely was. Missy kinda. The rest at the end I wouldn't call them overly strategic players. :shrug: Jon & Jaclyn were more emotional players that happened to be the swing votes most weeks (kind of because of that). Baylor & Keith just kind of went with the flow all season. People like Jeremy/Natalie/Reed/Josh kind of dominated the strategy of this season I think. And Reed/Josh kind of sucked. :joker:

When that horrid bitch didn't pick me I wanted to punch her in the eye socket! Lol I was being extremely emotional and whiny that day. But imagine that you are STARVING and then to hear this bitch say that she didn't want to feed me because she didn't want me getting stronger... when I was already the weakest one and had the least to eat already (since I didn't go on very many rewards).... It was very upsetting to say the least.

Watched like more than half of Worlds Apart last night and another few today while waiting for the BBCAN4 finale. Plan on finishing it tonight.

Interesting season in good and bad ways. But definitely not as good as the other two I watched (or Kaoh Rong).. yet equally as addicting.

Love that the seasons are so short and the episodes are so easy to get through (especially when skipping through comps and stuff, saves so much time).

1) Malcolm was awesome. One of my favs overall in Survivor as of right now. Seemed both good at the game (even though he got played by Dawn lol) and was just such a generally chill and likable guy. Very interesting/entertaining player.

2) What's wrong with Michael & Matt? Or is it just "perplexing" cause they're not much of main characters of the season? I really liked how they were playing in the early game and then they linked up with most of the people I liked at the tribes switch / merge so that was a plus as well. Overall I literally didn't dislike anything about them so that's how they're higher than certain others who may have been more entertaining but may have annoyed me at times.

I just think that Malcolm and Matt and Michael, much like Caramoan itself, were very boring :3 Like, for someone as much of A Big Character as Malcolm, what did he even do besides have long hair and win ICs and get a good amount of confessionals? What did Michael do besides be fetishized as Corinne's pet gay :rolleyes: what did Matt do besides have an ugly beard and ugly tattoos?

He was always a centerpiece in the game @ Malcolm. He got a good amount of confessionals cause he was entertaining in them lol. And that entertainment made him my favorite. Plus, the double immunity idols move to get Phillip out was crazy and up there as one of my favorite Survivor moments.

Michael & Matt were strategic / pretty good players throughout. I usually like a good strategic pair in reality TV, shout outs to Dan & Memphis, Cody & Derrick, certain showmances that were actually strategic and likable, etc. etc.

Corinne was messy which is what made her hilarious. I don't think Michael was a "pet gay" at all but it was funny to see that whole situation for like the episode or two that it lasted. Besides that has nothing to do with Michael really and all that basically was is a good friendship... another pair that I liked in the game. (Side note, Michael did get pretty irrelevant towards the end of his game but already established himself as one of my favs so it didn't matter)

In Matt's case, what is wrong with him? And what's wrong with an ugly beard and tattoos? :joker: The guy never gave me a reason to dislike him, he was pretty involved in the game, and I loved the Michael/Matt duo so yeah he fits in my top 6. :shrug:

My oh dear was about Caramoan being ranked #2. It had the worst pre merge episodes ever and really was just an atrocious season with a lousy winner. Also not a fan of Malcolm either I think he is highly overrated in almost every aspect of the game.

So I'm 3 episodes into Philippines... of course the tribe I like most is getting dismantled. :fist:

Although I'm also liking the tribe with RC & Abi-Marie now... I say those 2 cause they're kinda the focal point (and I constantly forget what the tribe names are :joker:). I have a small liking for that entire tribe just like Malcolm's... But what I like most is the crazy dynamic within that tribe. :joker: There's so many different sides that keep getting created and it's hard to tell how that's gonna play out.

Went with Palau next and I just finished it. I wanted to go with the one after All Stars to work my way from there, season by season, but I couldn't find a working premiere episode on the site I use. So next up was Palau. Felt weird watching the show without an immunity idol involved but it was an alright season that included one of my new favorite Survivor contestants. :love:

One thing I don't like about Survivor is that the majority alliance every season is practically guaranteed to be like 4 out of 5 / 5 out of 6 of the finalists, etc. You rarely see any kind of big switch within the season after the merge.

In Cook Islands I liked that Jonathan switched over because you just rarely see that but then anyway all that really did was make the other side coast to the final 4 and the original majority crumble. :joker: I'd prefer to see more power shifts in a season but it just doesn't really line up that way in this kind of game I guess. :shrug: It's still fine just something I noticed gets repetitive in Survivor.

Rodney was very amusing. Tyler was pretty damn likable (surprisingly for his kind of archetype on these shows).

I do think the male cast was weak overall that season (a bunch I didn't like) and there weren't too many hugely likable characters as a whole both male & female. In fact even my favorites of that season get blown away by my faves from most/even all other seasons.

1. My man Mike Holloway → Probably in my top five winners, he was entertaining, a great competitor and overall just a likeable guy!
2. Rodney → Hate him as a person, love him as a survivor contestant. Had little respect for others, but couldn’t help but appreciate his sense of humour and what he brought to this season.
3. Jenn → Although wanting to quit prevented her from being my #2, her confessionals and attitude in general always had me in stitches
4. Shirin → I did find her annoying at times, but she had her funny moments and did not deserve to be treated the way she was
5. Nina → She was not cut out for Survivor at all, but I still felt for her and wish she went further
6. Max→ Couldn’t help but appreciate his love for the game, and do think he deserved a second chance (even though he could be annoying)
7. Vince → Another character that I hate as a person, but his insecurities and delusions made for a good survivor villain in the first 2 episodes of the season.
8. Carolyn→ Had no opinion on her the first half of the game. Respected her a bit more the latter half for not giving Rodney any of her rewards (:joker:) and for semi-teaming up with Mike near the end
9. So → Had a lot of potential, but couldn’t be higher on the list because I didn’t see enough of her
10. Hali→ Very mediocre contestant. Attractive and likeable but didn’t contribute that much to the game
11. Kelly → she got hit on the head.
12. Tyler→ Boring to watch and devoid of any gameplay or personality
13. Dan→ DESPISE him as a person, but not lower because he did contribute a lot to the season and was fun to root against because he’s SO delusional and detestable (Think he deserves a spot in HvsV 2 as an early-boot)
14. Joe→ Didn’t mind him on Second Chances, but he had a few rude moments towards Nina and did not really seem to have a lot going on in his head
15. Lindsey→ Thought she was just as bad as Rodney but without a sense of humour
16. Sierra→ Horrible gameplayer. Had a chance to change the game up by joining Mike, Jenn and Shirin but couldn’t really make any moves. Her eyebrows were fascinating to watch though
17. Joaquin → Very little personality and seemed pretty arrogant

Well I remember it well enough I think but I watched that episode days ago. I know he called Anthony effeminate and told him something like "take the skirt off"... and was yelling. I could be wrong but that's about the worst I remember and no I don't think it was Too Much tbh. I mean it wasn't nice and he was being pretty misogynistic but it wasn't demoralizing either. :joker: Honestly maybe it's because Anthony took it pretty well. But anyway, the entertainment Rocky brought made up for the asshole behavior moments - which plenty of times was entertainment in itself but not so much that TC. He's easy to both laugh at and with and he was a wreck within the game.

I can't be bothered to debate that much more anyway, at least not right now. So basically

If someone's entertaining that's all I care about first and foremost anyway.

Courtney continued to deliver and Sherea shined at the TC. "Did ya not hear what came out of my mouth?!" :joker:

IDK, we have very different ideas of entertainment then because I don't think there's anything amusing about someone actively trying his hardest to be funny. Like, walking naked around camp Just Because was novel like ten years earlier, now it's just lame. Screaming over people in attempt to assert your masculinity and hide your insecurities doesn't make you entertaining, it just makes you a transparent jerk.

A guy can be too much of a dick too. In Rocky's case I really don't think he was (too much of one that is). Also, the only reason I even said "as long as she's not too bitchy" was because Courtney was literally complaining about / mocking everything & everyone. :joker: I like her anyway cause she was very charismatic and funny about it and I expect/hope for her to continue to be. If someone's entertaining that's all I care about first and foremost anyway.

Okay, I understand. I think it's mainly because I found Rocky to be a complete horror of a person.

I have a feeling you'll still end up liking Courtney anyway :p

Quality season. :clap1: The dislikes in the cast were pretty mild. They could pretty easily go under "meh" I just didn't care for them. Also, this was definitely a female-dominated cast.

Anyway, I finished China now and final thoughts are it was a good season. The winner was kind of a shame but eh, most deserving I guess.

I'm excited to watch Micronesia because the returning castaways are GREAT (all of them that I know of) but I'm gonna go back to watch Vanuatu first I guess. I'd like to see Eliza & Ami first before I watch their second season. Now I can watch that season on another site where the episode isn't missing (thanks again Luke, I was also able to watch a few missing episodes for the last 2 seasons I watched as well :thumbs:).

PEIH GEE IS NOT DULL. In fact the only dull person in China is Frosti and everyone else delivered something (even if some delivered awfully.)

And yeah I think you'll enjoy Micronesia like most do but I personally find it overrated as the cast is filled with gamebots and there are only two actually entertaining characters, but I'm in the minority so idk :laugh:

I finished watching Nicaragua a few hours ago.

For a finale that was kind of boring, I did find the reunion somewhat amusing. Fabio was so annoying throughout it all. I found him endearing sometimes throughout the season, but he did have really annoying moments. His smug attitude towards the end was so irritating and don't get me started on his reaction to winning. I loved it when Jeff was reading the votes and Chase got his fourth and Fabio was just like 'wtf' :joker: He so knew he was going to win but I wish it was Chase. Sash can **** right off.

I have to start off by mentioning Shannon at the reunon. There probably have been times where Jeff has scolded people at the reunion, but that was the first time where Jeff looked completely over someone (except Dan but that was nine seasons later). Shannon was such a dick and I'm glad that he practically had his head in his hands for the rest of the show. I don't want someone to make me side with Sash but he managed to do it.

My favourites from the season were Holly, Na'Onka, Chase & Brenda. I liked Purple Kelly, Wendy Jo and Alina. I have mixed feelings on Jane and Marty because I appreciated their presence but I don't fully know whether I genuinely liked them. I went back and forth with the two of them, which is ironic since they hate each other.

Omg Vanuatu is so bad. I'm almost halfway through now after watching a couple episodes for tonight and I already can't wait for this season to end. :joker:

The cast is extremely weak as well IMO. I'm not even sure if I have a favorite character... Maybe someone between Twila/Eliza/John K but they would NOT be a favorite of mine on a typical season. Twila is probably #1 by default just cause Eliza has annoyed me a bit at times (yet as of now she's still arguably #2 on this cast lol) and John K is very likable but a bit bland.

I liked Dolly & Mia a lot more than most left but overall the boot order hasn't even been bad whatsoever. I think the cast has just been bad since the start so halfway through I'm still struggling to find many people I support.

They were good enough but didn't stand out enough for me to like them. Dan maybe could be a shade greener but the other two are fine where they are.

ALSO, Vanuatu is proably the most underrated season of Survivor. It's definitely in my top five and I've seen every season bar Redemption Island through to Caramoan (I haven't fully watched Cambodia or Kaoh Rong either but w/e :p)

I watched episodes 1-8 and then stopped because I was busy with other stuff, and then randomly watched the finale. It was quite a good season from what I saw.

I'm still going through my first watch of all the seasons and I'm currently on Redemption Island, so it might be a while till I get to Kaoh Rong but I shall look forward to it :p

NaOnka was pretty much the star of the season. The only reason I have Holly above her is because I enjoyed her journey a bit more than Na's. Like, she did what NaOnka did in one episode and then redeemed herself and become one of the best competitors in the game...what an amazing arc :love: Purple Kelly was great when she managed to get screen time, and I'm still not sure about Marty. I thought I was going to really dislike him but he ended up okay.

Yeah, I'm surprised by how well Nicaragua turned out. I found the first couple of episodes so dull, but it really picked up after the swap. Everything post-merge was enjoyable, and I think the actual merge episode is one of my favourite episodes of all seasons.

and the whole double-quit episode was very interesting.

As someone who likes NaOnka and Purple Kelly, I felt sorry for them throughout the ordeal. The shame that was inflicted on them was a little unecessary in my opinion. I do understand the frustration since they quit when there were only 11 days to get through at the most, but I think viewers forget just how hard the experience is. I understand why the jurors would get upset, but it's a little unsettling that other people would make such a big deal out of the fact that two people could not emotionally or physically handle the game anymore. Anyone that wants put themselves on a pedestal and look down upon them for that is a total arsehole (I remember Benry acting so sanctimonious about the whole thing). I admired Holly's attempt to persuade Purple Kelly to stay.

Jeff making an example of the two of them in terms of the rights to be on the jury was pretty gross too. He literally acted as if they were sub-human. Like, I hate a quitter as much as the next person but I think this show in particular has a terrible stance on how they should be treated (*flashbacks to Osten in Pearl Islands). God, even in All-Stars the way Jeff constantly questioned Jenna over her decision to quit was just so uneeded.

I'm trying to skip through as much as possible - challenges/TC's/etc. - just to get through this season. :joker: So I got through the next couple of episodes real fast but I gotta say the last 2 episodes were actually pretty solid. (finally)

The drama in the episode where Chad went was more suspenseful than anything else (every episode has been very predictable this season).. although by the end of the episode it was still predictable that it wasn't gonna go 4-4. Anyway, I was glad Eliza stayed over Chad so it was a win-win on entertainment & result.

Then this past episode was reeeally good. Eliza managing to stick around yet again :joker: and LeAnn getting blindsided to finally take Ami out of the power position. :clap1:

The Yasur women is what makes Vanuatu a great season. Ami, Twila, Eliza, and Scout are all pretty unique characters and it's interesting to watch the interpersonal dynamics and conflicts across all the women.

and oh my god, Braden mentioning the Jenna Morasca quit just gets me so angry. Remember when Kathy saying that Jenna was the cancer to the Mogo Mogo tribe O_O

I'm starting to like this season more (in the middle of episode 13 at final 5 right now) but it's still one of my least favorite seasons, if not least. The late-second-half might save it.

The positives are that Twila & Eliza have been major highlights and Chris has emerged in the second half as well. The last few episodes have had plenty of its share of entertainment unlike the boring episode after boring episode at the start to mid-game.

Nicaragua is actually a really good season. The pre-merge is great and the start of the merge is quite interesting, but from the double quit it all gets boring, and the winner is underwhelming. Espada is one of the most underrated tribes, meanwhile a lot of La Flor is ridiculously overrated (Na, Brenda).

Also, one of the things I hate is when the leader of a group clearly thinks they're better and feels like everyone should play their game for them. Like think back to the episodes before & after Leann's blindside. She was on a power trip and it wasn't funny or endearing either because she just had kind of a one-tone personality. Twila always hit the nail on the head with her in her confessionals.


Anyway, I started Micronesia (4 episodes in) and I love it already. I'm not sure about the boot order so far tho.

Jonny Fairplay was alright at best but the hype he was getting makes me want to see his original season. :joker: Mikey B & Mary are better than a majority of the fans tribe so I would've liked to see them stay. And Yau-Man </3 (but there's still so many favorites that I like so I can live with Yau going)

And on a kinda related note to what I was just saying about Ami...

So I'm 9 episodes through Micronesia and it's excellent. There's no one in the top 10 that I even slightly dislike. As of right now everyone left is either slightly likable or better.

Small spoiler about what I just watched:

Jason is slowly getting better than a lot of my previous favorites. Also it's a shame Eliza went but what a way for her to go lol... I've grown to like her a lot. It really started towards the end of Vanuatu and then she was very, very entertaining in this season. :joker: She went from a "weak" #2 spot in a Vanuatu cast I didn't like to a very strong spot in my top 5 (most likely) of this season which is full of my all-time favorites.

I would've never thought at the beginning of the season that I'd be happy with Jason staying over Ozzy. I still liked Ozzy but he was pretty average in comparison to Cook Islands. I'm hoping Jason manages to stay longer... it's hilarious the way he's getting through this season. :joker:

Then this full blown self-proclaimed cold bitch persona came out. Bye. I wish she was at least self-unaware to possibly make it entertaining but she wants to play this role smh. Oh well, I needed someone to root against.

I'm on to the next episode now and I probably found this little interaction between Amanda & Jeff way funnier than it should have been but:

I knew Erik's time was coming to and end from watching Caramoan but the whole time I thought he placed 4th in this season. Then midway through this episode I started to remember that the Caramoan premiere mentioned him giving up immunity and getting played.

Micronesia was a damn good season. Definitely top 5 for me, probably 2nd or 3rd. :clap1: One of the few things that hurt it was there were so many med-evacs and quits (especially if you include Chet & Fairplay as quits) but lots of entertainment and blindsides still made it a great season.

Your micronesia ranking is near perfect! I would definitely go back and watch Pearl Islands before Gabon so then you have two incredible seasons (my favourite 2) back to back!

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna go back to watch Pearl Islands soon, I'll probably just watch it next.

But for now while I'm a little busier I figured I'd take a complete break from Survivor for at least a few days. I've been over-doing the Survivor watching anyway. :joker: Even so I'm still not sick of it yet, it's a really good RTV show... I prefer Big Brother to it but it's not that far off. Not sure why I never liked it originally. I guess I probably never gave it a fair chance.
