Strong and Stable" advertising van blows over motorway.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/elec…
It sounds like a prank but apparently it's true. The Conservative Party's "Strong and Stable" van blew over in high winds on a motorway.
Such an appropriate metaphor for the Tory's General Election campaign. :joker:

Social media users mocked the Tories' "strong and stable" slogan after a party advertising van overturned on a windy motorway.
Nobody was injured in the accident.
The van, which displays the words, "For the best Brexit deal vote Conservative on 8th June", turned on its side as it was driving north along the M6 between Lymm and Woolston.

Glad that nobody was injured in the most metaphoric event in British history
Look at the tremendous record of this Tory chance. Karl McCartney of Lincoln:
http://thelincolnite.co.uk/2017/06/conservative-karl-mccartneys-voting-record-expenses-and-controversies-as-lincoln-mp/
He has refused to take part in any debates, or to be interviewed, claiming BBC bias. He was also one of the MPs investigated for election fraud, though he has not been charged.
The fact that he has claimed over 880 thousand pounds in expenses over 6 years and he employs his wife on 40 plus grand a year is making him particularly popular, as is his voting record.
Basically a real life Alan B'stard.
My drug dealer has less phones than some of these people.

"If this was Diane Abbott" Case #4756
Boris Johnson has attacked Jeremy Corbyn for voting against anti-terror laws – despite the fact that the now-Foreign Secretary opposed some of the exact same legislation

Johnson is just as bad as Abbott tbh, he is a clown and always has been. Quite how he managed to be Foreign Secretary I don't bloody know. \
So many being caught out though in their campaign against Corbyn. Don't remember who it was now but a few weeks back I watched some Tory being interviewed and saying how horrendous he found something Corbyn has apparently said, only to be told that it was not infact Corbyn who had said this, it was Boris Johnson. Guy being interviewed got really flustered then decided he couldn't comment further as he didn't have the quote infront of him...
The witch hunt against Corbyn has really been a sight to behold. Presswise, Rupert Murdoch has really been crapping his pants at the prospect of tax loopholes being sorted and his own tax levels being raised a bit :D (well, raised a lot if he cannot wiggle out of paying his fair share anymore). The misquoting and sometimes outright lies that have been front page near everyday is ridiculous. I am sick to the back teeth of seeing this 'shoot to kill' and such repeated continually when its been proven to be misquoted (BBC even stated that their reporter misrepresented this, yet right wing rags have still repeated 600 times) and Corbyn has on many occasions clarified his views on shoot to kill. But the lies continue anyway.
Hell. A few days back I read an article in the Torygraph that its headline claimed Corbyn has refused to condemn the IRA bombing, and in the very same article they quoted Corbyn...condemning the IRA bombing

As the broadcast media and their websites can not discuss the election on polling day, do the Mods / Admins need to lock this thread for Polling Day? They can then unlock it on Friday after most of the results are known.

Nope, pretty sure we don't. Forums and such are classed as social media as far as I am aware, and any attempt to gag social media on polling day would be laughed at :p

Prediction for tomorrow, Jeremy Corbyn will be lucky to keep his own seat if at all
Liberal Democrats wiped out once and for all as the unstoppable blue landslide marches on.
Labour safe seats falling like dominos until there are only a handful, if that
SNP and Plaid also wiped out by the tide of blue
Theresa has 200+ to 300+ majority
Later
Hard brexit and no deal, EU nationals deported en mass
Razor wire across the border between Northenr Ireland and Southern Ireland
Statues of Theresa May in every town where it will be a criminal offence not to pay homage to our great leader and shout "ALL HAIL THERESA MAY, SAVIOUR OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE!!!" on Theresa Day
Well that seems to be what the polls are saying
Who cares anyway, playing Call of Duty on the X-Box is far more important than going out to vote, isn't it

No, I think it will be a lot closer.
As a Tory I would like her to win, no lies.
But, I really hate it when there is no strong opposition, now I can't stand Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott, but I am pleased and somewhat surprised that Labour look a lot stronger than they'd did.
I don't believe much of what they say they can do but that is by the by.

My point is in the last line
According to the statistics
Older people are more likely to vote and they are more likely to vote Conservative
Young people are more likely to vote Labour or to vote to keep out the Conservatives, but most of them can't be asked to go and vote and never bother.
Do the maths...

When Labour offer people the world and everything in it their credibility goes down the drain!
The biggest reason people should Vote for JC is quite simply because we as a crounty have somehow forgotten it was the BANKERS - who are now giving themselves 150,000,000 bonus's again - and everyone has forgotten because the MEDIA went ON AND ON AND ON about benefits - it didnt matter that the welfare bill is mostly for pensioners- or that they for people IN WORK - the media ran with it and this MYTH that Labour spent all the money????
It was world wide global financial melt down - its all being propped up with fictitious money.
I really sugguest everyone watches a film called "the fourhorsemen" on youtube.
Wait until Christmas and see how much the bankers untaxed bonuses are - when they are the ones who caused Austerity in the first place!!!!:fist::fist::fist::fist::fist::fist::fist :

I dunno...I was in Copenhagen last year and democratic socialism is working out quite well for them. Socialism can work, unfortunately it's very nature in it's purest sense fundamentally relies on people not being dicks.

In response to Americans frequently referring to his country as socialist, the prime minister of Denmark recently remarked in a lecture at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government,
"I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy"

Not gonna happen, assuming uniform national swing they'd have to be leading by 12% to get a majority of two. In any case they need to pick up just under 100 seats to for a majority, and that'd require them making gains in seats with 9-10k majorities for the Tories like Loughborough (without even factoring in the UKIP defectors).
The absolute best result for Labour is to gain around 30-40 seats at the expense of the Tories, which'd put them in a position to govern as a minority. Again, though, I don't see this happening. The smaller the Conservative majority the better, if they're under 350 seats it'll be hysterical because this election will have been pointless.
For what it's worth, here's my prediction:
My head says the Tories will be on around 380, but I'm gonna be a tad more pessimistic and think this really will be an all-out-disaster, so:

Can't wait for all the conspiracy theories on why Labour tanked
Nobody needs any conspiracy theories, though. It's too far out of the closet that a huge amount of the population will vote for the bastards no matter what. And things like disgusting tabloid smear campaigns aren't the remit of conspiracy theories, because you can sort of just look at the pages. With your eyes.
The right has been accusing the left of being too PC fascist, namby pamby for awhile now. Afraid of calling a spade a spade lest it upset the spade. Hopefully after tonight those on the left will no longer feel the need to pussyfoot around those who voted for the bastards and spend five years openly shaming them with every nasty little stroke that affects decent, ordinary people.
This election has brought the left of Britain back from the dead. And the left should be ****ing angry.

There'll be protests tomorrow, and those on the right will no doubt proclaim they 'don't respect democracy', forgetting of course that democracy doesn't begin and end with an election. Probably but they'd have to be mad to, the Tories destroyed the Lib Dems last time and with zero remorse.
Also remember that exit polls can be wrong by up to 20 seats (theoretically more but so far that's the most)
My favourite moment from the election campaign, was this tweet from Jacob Rees Mogg.

She can't, she didn't repeal the fixed term parliament act so she would need to do that to call an election.
Or again have to get at least 434 MPs to vote for another election.
If she cannot get a Queens speech passed, the Monarch will have to ask the opposition party to try to do so.
Only if after neither could get that support would another election then be likely.

Apart from Newcastle and Sunderland, does anyone know when the results start to come in?
When will we get the first results?
Sunderland has historically been the first to announce its results, winning the race to count its ballots at every election since 1992. The result from Houghton and Sunderland South is expected around 45 minutes after polls close, owing to its finely-tuned counting system.
The next results are expected to trickle in slowly. At around 1am around 12 results will have been announced. This should indicate whether the exit poll is right.
When will we get the bulk of the results?
Around 1am is also when the first Labour-held marginal seats will be announced, such as Nuneaton in Warwickshire. If the Conservatives win these, it will indicate Theresa May is on course to win a sizable majority.
Results from Scotland will start coming in around 2am. How successful the SNP has been at defending its seats should become apparent.
Conservative marginal seats should also be announced around 2am. If the Tories lose some of these it indicates the party is in danger of losing its majority.
Then at 2.30am, Jeremy Corbyn's Islington North constituency will declare.
At about 3am the results are expected to be flooding in, giving a fuller picture of the final result.
Around 4am, Theresa May's constituency in Maidenhead, Berkshire, will declare its result.
Paul Nuttall – leader of Ukip – will find out if has successfully become an MP at about 5am, when the results from Boston and Skegness are expected.
Caroline Lucas will discover if she retained her seat, Brighton Pavillion, at about 6am. At a similar time, Tim Farron will find out if he has won his North West coastal seat of Morecambe and Lunesdale
St Ives in Cornwall is traditionally the last seat of all 650 to declare its result.
