Last night on SmackDown, we saw Finn Balor make his move over to the blue brand along with his Intercontinental Championship. As it stands right now this would leave Monday Night without a midcard championship because, for all intents and purposes, Samoa Joe is still on SmackDown as well.

However, according to the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Meltzer reported that Joe is actually slated to be on the Monday Night Raw brand and wasn’t able to attend Monday’s show.

There is another wrinkle to this. On Sunday, during The Shield’s Final Chapter special on WWE Network, Finn Balor is set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against new Monday Night Raw Superstar Andrade. Should Andrade win, there would be no need for Samoa Joe to jump brands. It will be interesting to see where the pieces fall into place here.

Rush has reportedly made it very clear that he should be the top guy on the RAW brand, and he's not shy about sharing these thoughts. In an update, PWInsider reports that there has been a lot of talk about Rush's future within WWE. Rush was backstage for last night's RAW, but not used. There have been internal rumors of Rush being moved back to WWE NXT in the near future.

Earlier this month, Harper, 39, announced he had asked for his release from WWE after feeling like it was time to move on in his pro wrestling career. WWE has not granted a release, but instead has reportedly added on another six months to his contract due to the time he was out for wrist surgery.

For Dustin Rhodes, he was granted his release in January and was under a 90-day non-compete. He has already been announced for AEW Double or Nothing on May 25 where he will take on his brother, Cody Rhodes.

On this morning's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, the topics of Luke Harper requesting a release from WWE and Dustin Rhodes receiving his came up. Meltzer noted that McMahon does not want to release anyone right now, however the reason that Rhodes was granted his while Harper was denied is because of Triple H. Triple H reportedly talked McMahon into releasing Rhodes, however no one is talking McMahon into granting Harper his.

Harper was reportedly scheduled to feud with Sami Zayn, however those plans were nixed.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon opened tonight's WWE RAW from Cincinnati and announced a new Wild Card Rule that will see RAW Superstars appear on SmackDown each week, and SmackDown Superstars appear on RAW.

The idea is that 3 SmackDown Superstars "could be invited" to appear on RAW each Monday night while 3 RAW Superstars "could be invited" to appear on SmackDown every Tuesday night. Tonight's RAW saw Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston appear from the blue brand.

There's no word yet on which RAW Superstars may appear on SmackDown tomorrow night in the Wild Card Rule. AJ Styles teased that he may bring two of his friends to SmackDown tomorrow but Vince cut him off and said the invites are not decided on ahead of time.

The Wild Card Rule on tonight's RAW led to two WrestleMania 35 rematches in Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre and Kofi vs. Bryan.

Reportedly, WWE has made them cancel the match because Storm (WWE/NXTUK) was apparently going to lose the match to Priestley (AEW)...

Yesterday, Adam Page showed up at a Wrestle Gate Pro event in Nottingham, England to confront PAC and answer his open challenge. The two had a match where Adam Page won by DQ. Afterwards, PAC took down Page with a chair and told him he wouldn't be coming to Double or Nothing or AEW.

Initially, this all seemed like a way to hype their upcoming match at AEW Double or Nothing, but in actuality the match had been called off and this was how it was written off. It was reported the cancellation was do to creative differences as PAC (and Dragon Gate) didn't want to lose a match while he's the Open the Dream Gate Champion. AEW had other ideas for how they wanted the match to go and things weren't lining up for the two sides.

Page will still have a match at the show against a yet to be named opponent.

So Neville vs. Hangman Page @ Double or Nothing is no longer happening :sad:
