I hate to be pessimistic - but I can't help but have a weird feeling about Joe.

Two days before the relaunch of the BRAND NEW, "no indie emphasis", "young talent only" NXT run by VINCE and the reigning champion relinquishes the title.

The same champion who was literally released by Vince a matter of weeks ago, who is much older than the new focus group of talent and, as we all know, an "indie icon".

If he is genuinely injured then I apologise and of course wish Joe a speedy recovery but yeah... Something isn't sitting right.

Even in the video he's put out on social media the "injury" explanation was odd. I was expecting him to say he got injured in training or something but "Doctors have advised me to take some time out for an indefinite period of time"...

I wouldn't be surprised if Joe's kicked up a fuss after hearing plans for him for this new era of NXT (which let's be honest could be most probably lacklustre) and this is all just a way to get him off TV for a while without him losing credibility and immediately dropping the title to some new, young up-and-comer. This time next month if he's still not back I fully expect to see him released (again).

I hope that I'm wrong and that this is just a monumentally, ironically bad coincidence. :shrug:
