As noted earlier, the idea to put the title on Flair was an idea that was pitched a while back but Vince McMahon made the decision to put the title on her on Tuesday afternoon, just hours before the live broadcast.

I was told that one of the reasons why McMahon made the change is because he wanted to get more momentum on Flair since many have considered her the third wheel during the build-up for the Raw Women’s Championship match with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.

In a post on the Wrestling Observer Forum, Dave Meltzer explained why McMahon seemed fine with taking the belt off Asuka and essentially burying the SmackDown Women’s division in the process.

Meltzer noted that McMahon did not want to put Asuka up against an opponent that nobody cared about in the 17th or 18th match on WrestleMania so he decided to move the belt to the main event.

As of this writing, Askua is not listed on anything for WrestleMania. If they are moving forward with the Women’s WrestleMania battle royal then I would presume she would be added to that match.

On this morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed a rumored stipulation for the WrestleMania main event. According to Meltzer, a “Winner Take All” or “All On The Line” stipulation could be added to the triple threat. This would make perfect sense since Charlotte now holds the SmackDown Women’s Championship and Ronda Rousey the Raw Women’s Championship.

The stipulation being that if anyone pins another champion, they would become that brand’s champion. If Becky pinned Charlotte or Ronda, she would become that specific brand’s champion. If Charlotte or Rousey pinned one another, they would become a dual champion winning both brand’s belts.

This was an organically great triple-threat (I was mad at Flair being added but lbr it makes the quality of the match better and makes sense story-wise) with real build, energy and purpose... and they've now ruined with the inclusion of the SD! Title and these possible stupid stipulations.

Sort out the rest of the boring singles matches on the card that we've seen endlessly on RAW and SD! by adding stipulations to them not this one ffs.

Been a big storyline since around the Elimination Chamber PPV, fans want him to be champ...
