Top Reporter, Andy Bell said Business Leaders
had to pay £1,000 each to be at that event.

Ch4HDnews Reported,
400 Business Leaders all paid £1,000
to be there.

Sounds to me,
very much like New Labour.

Worse than new labour. Even NL had some progressive policies to help people, Starmer and Reaves are constantly saying that they work for business and will carry on austerity unless the economy explodes and then they can invest in services 99% of the population needs and relies on.

They went on about how they can
transform the UK,
But no such money can be found now.

Labour is ditching its policy of spending £28bn a year on its green investment plan in a major U-turn.

An official announcement will be made on Thursday.

Sources insist the party's Green Prosperity Plan, which includes creating a publicly-owned green power company, is not being dropped altogether.

But Labour will no longer commit to investing £28bn a year in green energy projects if it wins power.

Labour's position on the policy in recent weeks has been increasingly muddled, with some senior figures repeatedly refusing to use the £28bn figure when pressed in interviews, while others, including party leader Sir Keir Starmer, continued to do so.

I am annoyed at Starmer.

However, the Cons now CANNOT use this 28billion figure against Labour now.
So it may prove a shrewd move.

It's all the Cons have gone about for ages now so since it's shelved/ dropped, they'll look rather petty and hypocritical to not welcome the move.

Frankly I still think Starmer should have stuck to it.
Although looking good at considering the financial situation, will be no bad thing too.

Honestly though what a choice for the election.
As a Labour party member even, it's getting to the point where the only argument I can make is, Labour needs to win but not because they deserve to win.
Only in that this despicable rotten from the core heartless Con government only deserves to lose and lose badly I really hope.

Come on, Joey.

Starmer is pretty much dead set to win, and if they're scrapping policies now because they're scared of what the meany weany ickle tories are going to say, what do you think they'll do when in power and the right wing rags call him a communist every time he says something that isn't about being cruel to people?

because you don't want to make the poor poorer in the name of green, which is what has been happening

What?

So is it about the £28b not being on the manifesto, or is it the fact it's for "green" things that's the issue?

I'm not sure how to break this to you, but hurting the poorest in society is now, and has always been, a political choice. It's never been a necessity. There is more than enough to go round for everyone to live extremely comfortably.

People don't seem to realise that it is the people who can least afford it, end up paying for everything. So if the government say, we need to invest in green, it is the poor that pay for it. It is not pals of the government, they profit from it.

Who won all the contracts during covid? The pals of the government. Who ended up paying for it? The poor. Who couldn't get urgent hospital treatment because of the covid generated waiting lists? The poor

I would never buy a paper.
I only see what is posted as to their front pages on here.

The Mail and the Sun I particularly dislike .
I wouldn't use a sheet from them to pick up my dogs mess.

However I've no time for any papers.
They long back stopped being more like real NEWS- papers.
They ALL print distortions of the news to suit their own agendas.

I wouldn't waste a single pence on any one of them.

You vote for Conservative or Labour, and you can add Liberal Party too. Then you're a glutten for punishment.

Break your chains and vote for someone who wants to represent your interest's..

I'm not saying there is a party that does that, but the Conservatives and Labour don't. They are all owned. They work for the rich people that rule the World and want mass depopulation. They've told you so, if you can be bothered to listen.

Absolutely right .

There's no need for new prisons.

Get most of the non violent prisoners out doing other work and not costing loads to keep them in prison..
I've long felt it's ridiculous.

It's easier to get a mugger not getting a custodial sentence than someone who's committed a fraud, or theft without any violence or damage involved.

There's no rhyme or reason to that when the prisons are vastly overcrowded.
