I used to think Bamford was England quality but he’s such a disappointment these days .. Great chance for a headed goal and it hits his flaming shoulder

As I see things.,
If Liverpool win their three remaining games then ManU have to win two out of their three games and Newcastle have to win one and draw two at least to keep Liverpool out of the top 4 .

Both have Chelsea, which is a guaranteed 3 points. I think Liverpool have left it too late in the day now.

I wonder .. the thing with Chelsea is they have some extremely talented players … and Sterling ( couldn’t resist it lol) so they could easily turn on the magic on any given day .. unpredictable in other words.
Also they may play better against the top teams - some do just that ??

newcastle have gone off the boil recently. It's feasible that they end up missing out on the CL
Man U's home record has been great this season and their only away match left is bournemouth
But Bournemouth are safe and so it will be United playing under pressure ??
Chelsea are safe and could easily turn up and play great ..
Fulham are also safe .. having a good season , playing for Europe (?) plus Mitrovic is back and also scoring ..

That was when they had key players missing though ..
They have Salah , Jota , Diaz , Gakpo and Nunez to choose from now ..
After that draw with Arsenal Liverpool have won six successive games without getting into 3rd gear

Lots of chat about bottling it all over the place. This team has not and did not bottle it.
The argument is you were top for so long etc. Yes, this is true but Man City are a juggernaut they are a machine. They can sign a player of the quality of Kalvin Phillips and stick him on the bench. That is what you are up against.
Pep has 18 to 19 players that are Microsoft-like plug-ins and play. HE can have a player of the year like Riyad Marhez and De Bruyne on the bench.
I am proud of the lads and the season they have had. Arsenal has shown they're first 11 can compete. Let's build from here and get a squad of 16 players minimum who are plug in and play. #COYG

Yesterday's matches showed that Man City deserve to win the League imo.
Arsenal have done really well to have competed with them for so long, hopefully Arteta can add a bit more depth to his squad next season.

They have massively over achieved given their position last season and the squad being so young .

Arsenal have been a joy to watch this season. I do think the pressure got to them though because their performance levels dropped off in April.
However, people have short memories, it's not that long ago that Pep was shouting at his team for being lazy and not turning up for matches as they should

I think the rot started when the fabulous Partey got injured and missed the crucial first game against City … he hasn’t been the same since .. neither have Arsenal
Soon after they lost their key defender in Saliba then Zinchenko struggled with a calf injury for the last few weeks ( and it showed ) ..
Similar thing happened to Arsenal when they lost Varane and Martinez.. and Casemiro missing key games
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
yeah, it killed Man U's season. They just don't have the depth of squad to keep the levels consistent.

I can only presume that they will make substantial improvements over the summer ..
I actually like watching their style of play more than any other team ( including Barca ) ..
Shame they all kinda looked jaded .. especially Saka , Martinelli and Partey

That’s just a young team/squad burnt out isn’t it!?

This Toney ban is ridiculously imho
Tripper got a far higher fine ( where money / fines are meaningless ) yet Toney gets a small fine and a huge ban which basically punishes Brentford who will be without their main player until Jan 16th 2024 !!
With cases like this there should be something like a 6 week ban plus 90% of the players wages!!
They could stop all illegal betting overnight if the players were only getting 10% of their salary for the period banned

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received a two-match ban for comments he made about referee Paul Tierney after his side's 4-3 victory over Tottenham in April.
It means the German will miss Sunday's match against Aston Villa at Anfield.
The second game is suspended until the end of the 2023-24 season, providing Klopp does not commit any further breaches in that time.
Klopp suggested Tierney has "something against" the Reds after the Spurs game.
He has also received a £75,000 fine having admitted he regretted making the comments.

i think newcastle on balance deserve to be top 4

Big weekend for Liverpool ( and ManU )
Rashford is a major doubt to play Bournemouth according to TalkSport after picking up an illness !?
Liverpool are at home to Villa tomorrow ( Villa should be hopefully on the beach )
Then Liverpool play doomed Southampton next weekend whereas ManU have to play Chelsea and Fulham .

bournemouth, chelsea and fulham have nothing to play for
bournemouth, chelsea and fulham have nothing to play for
True up to a point but that can make them dangerous as they can play relaxed football .. whereas ManU basically HAVE to win the games .. the United players may not throw themselves into 50/50 challenges with the FA CUP final with City looming ..
With regards to Chelsea each player is basically playing for their Chelsea career so presumably they may be a serious threat

The chelsea players haven't shown up for the rest of the season
United will treat the remaining premier league games as more important than the fa cup

They have a new manager hovering who will be scrutinising all the players now .. they’d be idiots to not give their absolute best in the coming games

a lot of them are on 8 year contracts, they have no need to do anything special
bournemouth, chelsea and fulham have nothing to play for :laugh:No pressure on them then, they can play free without the weight on their shoulders. That could make them dangerous.

The new manager can easily ship a few of them out on loan though.. as they have a massive squad and money is no object

yeah, and in preparation for next season players can make their pitch. They have zero need to do it now Also, it's not just chelsea, its bournemouth and fulham too. None have anything to play for

There is no way that the new manager won’t be watching and scrutinising every minuscule thing the players do over the coming games .. his own future depends on him making the right decisions. You really think he won’t mind if the players just coast through the games ?

I just don’t see any Chelsea player coasting when the new guy and his back room team will be watching for any strengths or weaknesses/flaws ..

Anyone see the Kane free kick goal just then ??
Surely it’s a foul with the spurs defender ran into the Brentford guy stopping him from blocking Kane’s shot ??

come on Brentford
Spurs are gonna be in serious trouble next season if Kane leaves
spurs have collapsed in the 2nd half
spurs have collapsed in the 2nd half
Excellent .. the win means Brentford will be fighting for a European place when they play at home to ManCity :)
City are then AWAY to Brighton !!
Come on Brentford !!
Come on Chelsea !!
Come on the Gunners !!
The dream is still alive
:)

amazing saves by the Brentford goalkeeper
Harry Kane walking around the pitch alone .. clapping the Spurs fans !!!

spurs are doing a lap of honour, and the crowd has gone home :joker::joker::joker::joker:
I still haven’t given up on the title race !
I can see Chelsea beating City tomorrow as they have to impress the new manager and back room staff ..
Then City play AWAY at Brighton and AWAY at Brentford.. Brentford on a hood run and beat Spurs 3:1 away today and are fighting for a European place !!
Arsenal just have to beat Forest away today and then beat Wolves at home next week.. ..

have a bias suddenly for City now
my Gundogan, i kinda signed him to everyone's surprise on FIFA 21, for like 45 million to my Hamburger SV
he's good at long distance shots
Don't forget though, a win for Forrest today will secure their place in PL next season
i think it's funny that zizu thinks man city will lose their remaining 3 matches when they have blown away his beloved arsenal
boom boom United 1 up , great goal from Casemiro
boom boom United 1 up
Presuming Liverpool win today and then beat Southampton on the last day ..
Even if ManU win today ( no guarantee) they will still need to get 3 points from the last two games against Chelsea and away to Fulham ( Mitrovic is back and scoring)

Man City losing 3 league games in a row, with their current form, is the equivalent of the Democratic Republic of Congo winning the World Cup.
Liverpool have been awful so far, losing 1-0, and Watkins missed a pen
liverpool 0 Aston villa 1

It’s been a crazy , crazy season though and City have a lot on their plates .. the other night saw Gundugan and Rodri falling out mid game and also KDB and Pep screaming at each other !!
Given the upsets we’ve seen just lately - is it really that crazy to see the uber talented Chelsea guys putting on a performance against City ??
Then they have two AWAY games to Brighton and Brentford .. both teams going for European places ..

i think you are clutching at straws Zizu. I'm no city fan, but most people realise just how well they are playing just now
I just can't see them losing 3 in a row Zizu, maybe one, maybe a draw, but they're not losing 3 in a row.
Mings just escaped a definite RED card .. typical of the reffing under Howard Webb

If Arsenal win their two easily winnable games then City will still need two Draws to clinch the title .. so two wins by Arsenal and City get two defeats out of either Chelsea or Brighton AWAY or Brentford AWAY ..
Arsenal win the league :)

Also, Liverpool need to do someone special now or no CL next season.

They can still technically get into the CL, but they'll need Utd to lose their last 2 games, or Newcastle.
I’ll have to recalculate now :)

Yep . Liverpool win against Southampton ( easy)
United lose against Chelsea and Fulham ( entirely possible with the FA Cup final against ManC looming ever closer lol)
Liverpool get top 4 on goal difference
Whoo hoo
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Their goal difference is much better than Utd's. Think it's much closer with Newcastle on goal difference?
united have had the most clean sheets this season and their home record is brilliant, and they now have 2 games at home
I think it's safe to say Newcastle need not worry now. Their next being easily winnable, not that they even need a win, a draw will do. And their goal difference is much better than Utd's, and 7 better than Liverpool's. They really are a shoe.

Arsenal have been really poor
They just seem burnt out
Losing Saliba was the beginning of the end as ge makes Gabriel look competent z
Partey has been carrying an injury and it shows
Then Zinchenko was carrying a calf injury and playing ( poorly ) through it . Than Martinelli and Saka both lost their way / form ..
Now Odegard looks weary
Xhaka having to play left back after his best season playing further forward
