He HAD it but he threw it away when he thought it acceptable to party while others couldn't attend funerals, or visit dying relatives in hospital.
He threw away everything he won. Now he has nothing, except a selfish desire to be PM again.
To say he was ‘partying’ is a big stretch.
How many people broke a few lockdown rules during that awful time? with most not having the enormous responsibility that his job entailed. He couldn’t attend funerals or visit dying relatives either if the need arose - and when he nearly lost his own life from covid, he couldn’t have his loved ones at his side.
But he had a drink and a bit of cake with some others (including Sunak) on his birthday, what a selfish bastard!
He has far from ‘nothing’ - his buoyant personality and charisma is widely sought after; he earned £315,000 for a 30 minute speech in the US recently. :hee:
Former Brexit minister David Frost is backing Rishi Sunak to be the next prime minister.
Also,
Former health secretary Matt Hancock has urged both Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak to work together in the national interest and called on the former prime minister to back his apparent rival to lead the country.
The West Suffolk MP - who was health secretary under Johnson - is backing former Chancellor Sunak, but urged the pair to "talk to each other".
Hancock tells BBC Radio Suffolk that co-operation is needed to bring "stable leadership" during a time of economic and political instability.
"We need to all come together and we need to deliver for the country," he adds.
Asked if he thought a deal between the pair possible, Hancock says it would be "superb and strongly in the national interest" for his former boss to get behind Sunak.
Sounds like a sensible plan, though I don't like Sunak personally. As much as I'd like Boris back, many commentators are saying it is too soon...but as PM again in the future - absolutely YES.

Just worked out that Truss 'golden goodbye' as PM after a few weeks, means she's in line for £10,000 a month for the rest of her life.
That is basically a TOP PRIZE SET FOR LIFE WIN. Surely someone has to put a block on this. It's nuts.

SkyNewsHD reports
Johnson now has 100 backers
Not all are going public, yet.
So Monday
Johnson Vs Sunak
By By Penny, dear.
Penny could get over 100 too, we will know for sure on monday at 2pm
Within moments of those around Boris Johnson claiming they have hit the threshold of 100 MPs backing the former prime minister, scepticism from other Conservative MPs.
"Hogwash", "absolute garbage", "clearly nonsense" are among the phrases being used.
Why?
Well, the publicly-declared number of backers is much, much lower and — bluntly — his track record when it comes to truth is patchy.
These races are all about generating momentum, even a sense of inevitability.
There are MPs inclined to back him but keen to keep their counsel for now — but you can expect a blizzard of demands that Johnson’s team produce a list if their claim is to be seen to be credible.

Back to just his endless deceit and lying trying to be concealed by his deceitful bumbling pantomime of self styled acting as a clown.

yeah, if he reflects tory members then rishi will lose. However, at the moment Rishi is the only one with documented evidence that he has more than 100 nominations, so it may not go to the membership for a vote
I don't think Boris's ego will allow him to stand when he is far behind Rishi in terms of support amongst his own mp's
Current totals
Rishi Sunak - 128 MPs
Boris Johnson - 53 MPs
Penny Mordaunt - 23 MPs
joeysteele

I can't fathom out why everytime I listen to Penny Mordaunt that she keeps reminding me of Mrs May.
If I close my eyes, it's like I'm listening again to Mrs May.
That's worrying.
political leaders each have their own time. Churchill it was the war, Boris it was brexit, etc etc. Fast forward to now, and we need a serious leader that understands the country's plight and has the experience to get us through it. Boris isn't the man, he doesnt do detail and he is a lazy so and so. Penny is there to reconcile the tory party, but thats of no interest to the gbp, it's a non function so she can't be taken seriously. Rishi is the only one that comes close as being the right person for the time and if he doesn't win, then things will just explode again in another couple of months

Suella Braverman and Kemi Badenoch are both supporting Sunak
A short while ago, Matt Vickers, MP for Stockton South, announced he is backing Rishi Sunak - despite saying his "friend" Boris Johnson has a "huge role to play in the future of our country".
Vickers joins the ranks of Tories who have gone out of their way to express their admiration and appreciation for Johnson on a personal level while announcing they would not back him as Conservative leader.
This morning, Northern Ireland minister Steve Baker said that "voters out there love him and he's a wonderful man" and that he "lights up the room" - before adding that a Johnson comeback would be a "disaster".
And yesterday, former veterans minister Johnny Mercer said Johnson "is a friend and I love him to bits", although he just didn't think he could "put us through all that again".

"To the delight of President Biden, the IMF, the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the
globalist community, Jeremy Hunt was installed as CEO of Britain. At a stroke, it destroyed
any attempt to reduce the size of the state, help small businesses or cut taxes. In a couple
of weeks, the Tory Party has undergone what amounts to a globalist Remainer coup in
which there may be no prospect of recovery, whether Johnson or Sunak becomes PM."

Makes no difference and that happened because of all his list of abuses of power and wrongdoing.
Made worse by promoting a sexual predator and not acting on information as to that when he did.
Plus losing badly by elections.
With his public poll ratings plummeting.
I can't think of any leader or PM ever after resigning even being allowed back or even trying to get back.
He wouldn't have been hounded out if he hadn't broke his own laws, acted unlawfully in power, misled the Monarch.
Tried to cover up others dubious activities trying to use parliamentary procedure to do so.
Then even deceiving, misleading and lying to the Country and parliament.
That's why he was hounded out as you call it.
It's also why he should never be even considered to be permitted to return.
It's likely why he'll repeat it all again too if he does win this.
So will need to be possibly 'hounded' out again.
How I hope he will be too if this Con party insults the people again by letting him back.

Rishi Sunak appears set to become the new Prime Minister tomorrow after Boris
Johnson sensationally dropped out of the Tory leadership race this evening - with rival
Penny Mordaunt short of the 100 backers threshold.
The former Chancellor, who officially launched his campaign this morning, had more
than double the number of publicly-declared supporters than Mr Johnson.
As of this evening, 228 out of 357 Tory MPs have gone public with their support. Mr
Sunak is understood to have 147 backers, Mr Johnson 57 public supporters and Penny
Mordaunt just 24.
Mr Johnson, though, has claimed he in fact reached the 'very high hurdle of 102
nominations', but has bowed out of the race because it is 'simply not the right thing to
do'.

Rishi put his massive foot in it with his dreadful remarks about wanting to fund wealthy areas in Tunbridge Wells . He'll never know what poor is really like .
Boris asked penny to pull out the race, do people really think he did that if he had the votes? He also spoke to Sunak, probably because he wanted the triumphant return unopposed. When all that failed, and the majority of mp's continued to ridicule him politely he saved being embarrassed further by pulling out
Penny is not the leader needed at the moment. People don't give a stuff about keeping all the tories happy which is what she is saying she will do. They want a safe pair of hands with the economy.
It's the end of the tory party, whether it takes 6 months or 2 years, it is still inevitable. They need to stop being UKIP and return to being conservatives and that will take a wipe out

The stupid first past the post electoral system we have doesn't help new Parties.
It's costly to form and run.
With a near impossible task to break through in elections.
If we had PR, new life could be injected into politics.
However too it could shake up both main Parties too reform and become more representative too.

everybody knows what they are getting from Sunak, does anyone have a clue what penny has to offer other than being a supposed friend to every tory mp?
Poor Penny
making the effort to see Snappy Laura
Live on BBC1HD on Sunday
is as good as a piss pot.
Sunak with 171 noms has less than 50% of mps supporting him
Boris with somewhere between 50 and 102 noms has 2/3 of the tory mp's NOT supporting him
Penny with 25 noms has 7% support among tory mp's , 93% of tory mp's do no support her and yet she is the person that can pull them all together?
Does anyone really think this is going to end well?

I've never been a fan of political columnists. I'd say all of them write complete cr**, and nearly always go back on what they said last week.
I've never understood why they exist, except it's a fake job handed down to them by their editor mates.
I've read a load of cr** today and heard a lot of rubbish about this new election race.
I guess my point is I'm fed up to the back teeth of it, and those supposed intelligent people who would like us to believe they 'know it all'.
That's all for now. :D
Lets not forget that next Monday or soon after the chancellor is going to have to announce a swathe of cuts in public services. Strikes are going to get worse, will Sunak reverse the NI scrapping? it was Sunak's baby

It is said now that she has at least 90 backers with most choosing to stay quiet about it , the tory party is si far split that they need unity to work, they all heavily backed the last 3 yet tabled votes of no confidence so how can you govern when they don't even trust who they vote for

Well now with awful Johnson not in the running.
Any no confidence would fail.
It's not wrong to try it but it can't result in a general election.
The argument is strong to have one for all but the Cons obviously.
However all this may do if Starmer called for a no confidence vote.
Is show the unity of near ALL the opposition Parties.
Nothing else unfortunately.
i think they should pick their time better for a confidence vote. They would never win one now

Surely we will be getting shut of him in the not so distant future .
A few of his highlights..
:::
Ian Blackford rakes in £241k in expenses: SNP MP second highest-claiming MP in Westminster ..
It’s been revealed that for 2018/19 he managed to extract more than a quarter of a million pounds in Westminster expenses.
He claimed a total of £256,000, a rise of £16,000 from the previous year, when he claimed £240,000.
In his Ross, Lochaber and Skye constituency, that £16,000 expenses increase is more than many people earn for a full year’s work.
:::
Ian Blackford accused of bullying victim of SNP sex pest as resignation calls heat up.
More calls for Ian Blackford to resign have been made as accusations of bullying behaviour towards the victim of sex pest MP Patrick Grady surface.
:::
Ian Blackford is facing calls to quit alongside Patrick Grady after he told MPs to rally around their shamed colleague.
The SNP's Westminster leader and his supporters cheered and applauded the disgraced Mr Grady at a meeting at Westminster. It was held shortly after the Commons watchdog found he had made "unwanted sexual advances" towards a teenager at a London Christmas party.

Why is it from Cons that no matter what Con leaders do that's wrong or suspicious.is okay and to be overlooked IF they say sorry.
Whereas if any Labour people or another Party"s people do wrong and say sorry.
The call from hardliner Con quarters is for them to be hung, drawn and quartered .
Utter hypocrisy.
