Find this canoe idea baffling and time consuming, means you're basically having a hot dog with hardly any bread then, just crust? And what do you do with the bread you've removed, just chuck it away?

Just cut a sausage-shaped rectangle out of the top of the roll, so everything fits in nicely, and the whole thing stays together throughout the eating without it falling to bits. I throw the excess bread away as there's more than enough bread in a hot dog roll, but you could keep them and make soldiers for your boiled egg the following morning.

But only for people that have 10 seconds to waste of course, because otherwise how would you cope with such time consuming methods?

Seems like a tragic waste of BREAD !!

That said I recall them doing just that in Florida - maybe it’s worked it’s way to us now
