I really don't care if the toilet seat is up or down. It's not something I've ever worried about. I wash my hands after anyway

If I splashed the seat, I would clean it and I'm not sure why a man would be less likely to do that

The toilet should be left clean with the seat and lid down, the purpose of toilet seats/lids is to stay down to stop rats from getting up the pipes. Anyone in possession of a penis should have been trained to put both back down after peeing when they are small children or sent to piss in the yard forever.

Well, the lid should always be down when you flush because of the spread.

So, if the lid is down the seat is down. It's nothing to do with men or women. Just close the lid.

It's never been something I thought about much tbh, I grew up with 3 brothers so I was always prepared for an up seat My husband and son are better for putting it down, I prefer the whole thing down though, lid and all, just looks better

It has a lid for a reason, you're supposed to put both down. This is not a gendered issue and can only have been turned into one by people habitually leaving the lid up permanently .

Tbf though it's 2023... We should have high tech toilets like Japan by now

Though not to upset you Zizu but I'm sure one of those mythbuster type shows proved that a lot of poop bacteria still gets out into the bathroom on flushing, even with the lid down . So the only real solution is a thorough regular bathroom clean.
