When you are having convo on text or a messaging service are you happy just to let a text hang if you feel there is no reply necessary or you dont want to keep on texting or do you always feel you have to reply and hope that the other person will end it?

I always try to reply unless the last reply from the other person is like "oh" or "okay" or something. Depends on the situation and person though.

Depends on the conversation...or the time...or how busy I am...or who I am talking to

Sometimes I just leave statements hanging... sometimes I don't. Sometimes I answer a question...sometimes I don't. Idk if there are hard and fast rules to txting

I did just this the other night...but it was the middle of the night for me....and by morning the conversation had moved on.... but also...I didn't want to answer

Most of the time I'll reply at least once. Then I might just end it after that. But I actually just realized this morning when I texted a friend that I completely forgot to reply to his text from yesterday. Sometimes I'll mean to reply but I'm doing something and then I don't remember until I see it again much later/the next day or whatever. Not even sometimes, this happens with me A LOT.

It also depends how good or pointless the text is.

If the text requires an answer I'll answer it, pisses me off when you ask someone a question by text and they don't reply

I think you can normally tell when a conversation has quite naturally reached its ending and when no further reply is necessary (i.e. not when someone has asked a question)
