I love Honey's return, but it seems like DTC is trying to just relive Santer's era. It's brought back loads of Santer's characters for bit part appearances (Libby, Christian, Honey) when they actually do nothing.

EastEnders planning bigger stories for Masood family

EastEnders star Nitin Ganatra has told Digital Spy that the show's bosses are lining up some big autumn storylines for the Masood family.

The actor, who plays Masood Ahmed, confirmed that he will have a busier filming schedule towards the end of the summer.

While firm plans for the family are currently under wraps, show chiefs have previously teased that Masood's daughter Shabnam is hiding a big secret.


Ganatra also ruled out a reunion for Masood and Carol Jackson following David Wicks's departure from the show.

He laughed: "Masood lost Carol to her ex, he lost Jane to her ex and he lost Zainab to her ex. I'm kind of done with the 'going back to the ex' storyline - it's become a pattern! The problem is, if they have a happy relationship, there's not really much of a story to tell."

Ok episode, decent exit but just barmy and pretty much an 8 month version of the 2 week storyline when he returned for Pat's funeral in 2012. There was no point him coming back for this long if he wasn't intending on sticking around, it's just been a repeat of what we've seen before really.

Fans knew that Michael French, who plays David, was leaving the soap but show bosses had kept quiet about the exact date of his exit.

David's final episode saw his on-off partner Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) order him to leave Walford after they were unable to resolve their differences.

Rather than part on a sour note, the pair shared a last emotional dance to 'Misty Blue' in the Butcher family living room before David made his departure, heading to the airport in a cab.
