We'll see how far Villa have come under Lambert tomorrow, this game last year they threw away a two goal lead to lose the game, it's a big test of their character to make sure they don't crumble again.

United are under pressure, and are desperate, so this is a great chance for Villa.
On the other hand, United are gonna give someone a good hiding soon.

He should be alright, he's got them pretty solid, just needs someone to stick the ball in the net for him, he had Kevin Davies doing it regularly for him at Bolton, Maybe Carroll could be the man when he's fit.

MTVN

Yeah it's the main problem really, think we've got a solid defence with the likes of Reid (when he's back) and Rat in the back four, Noble and Ravel are great and got some good wingers in the likes of Downing and Jarvis. Trouble is Carroll is a bloody nightmare with this injury, not sure he'll ever be consistently fully fit again, and then we're just scrambling around hoping for goals.. Need activity in January

AVB has surely got to go, there's no way that this Spurs team with the ability they have, and with the funds they had at their disposal, should be this bad. AVB should stay. Had they beaten us today they'd be level on points with us, and everybody's saying what a good season we've had. Honestly think he's a top manager.

MTVN
16-12-2013, 01:34 AM
They could very very easily be a lot further down though, pretty much all their wins have just been by one goal, a few times with a really late penalty or like against Sunderland and Fulham last few weeks they've had to come from behind to scrape wins. Their wins have been really close run lucky things but their losses have been really emphatic, Spurs should definitely be a top 4 team not losing 5-0 at home or 6-0 away, it's incredible that they got beaten by us 3-0 at home considering how generally poor we've been this season

MTVN
16-12-2013, 01:35 AM
Used to actually really like the guy as well lol, and thought he was quite hard done by at Chelsea, but honestly think it'd be one of the most justified sackings in recent times

King Gizzard
16-12-2013, 01:44 AM
Didn't buy the quick AMC they needed (well they have Eriksen but again there must have been a reason why United and co didn't go for him) need a modric...at the moment they are playing so basic because they've got Sandro and Paulinho (and dembele) in most games and they're hardly the most silky players out there

I'd give him a January to get someone, they have still hardly broken over their net spend

But they won't and they'll sack him because they have no other choice really, he has lost the fans

Sakho seems to have taken the left sided CB position off him now. I'd rather see a combination of Agger-Sakho instead of Skrtel-Sakho but obviously they're both left footers so Brendan mustn't want to risk it/hasn't liked the look in training.

Coates will be off as soon as he's back from injury though, so that'll take the CB's down a number. Think we'll probably need Agger if we do qualify for the CL, Kolo's contract was only one year I think?

Nevermind actually, it is 2 years.

Sakho's made a couple of dodgy decisions since his arrival, but he looks head and shoulders above the rest of them. I'd get rid of Skrtel and Agger, then get that Greek guy in to pair up with Sakho. We'd be impenetrable for the next 3/4 years.

We need to create some space for Wisdom to come through in his position, and Martin Kelly is a CB (who never plays CB) as well. I don't even count Coates anymore as he wouldn't be getting games, even if he was fit. So we do need to create some space/engineer movement/stop using our wage/transfer budget on CB's

The majestic Kolo will sign for another year - he's absolutely loving it, and I think he's great. Football is fun again at the moment, but I doubt we'll make champions league this year, and CB is probably the one position you can get away with not having rotation options (if we did get there), as long as your first choice defenders aren't made of glass, like Agger.

Everton should be able to offer him a good wage, and with the World cup coming up he needs to be playing and getting some form.

he'll take a paycut to return because his family live in England and they haven't really settled in Russia from the sounds of things and it's not like Spartak are going anywhere fast at the minute, his contract expires at the end of the season as well so everton will get him on the cheap, still can't believe Spartak paid nearly 10 mil for him though, he's a good player really unselfish and creates loads of chances but i think he'll struggle in the prem

If Liverpool keep the form going it's going to be great at opening up a whole new fickle, embittered universe of football discussion. A whole new arena of Premier League discussion is threatening to go from "wow this is looking good, but let's wait and see" to the potential reality of a Brave New World.

Already we are seeing the crème de la crème of United and company's most verbose, ****ed off supporters tripping over themselves to explain things away with their small, tiny penises, glass eyed manager and weird season that sees their league table looking like a helter skelter with less smiling children and more grown men sobbing uncontrollably.

'But' is going to become the buzzword and Manchester will once again rightly fall back on it's music as it's finest export to the world. In the words of New Order "how does it feel".
