First off, I really liked the way you handled this task, Lewis. I thought delegating the team some responsibilities was a nice touch and a funny homage to the real show (or a serious leadership quality, delete as applicable :whistle:)
That said, there were definitely a couple of members whose contributions left more to be desired... well, in Jordan's case, ANYTHING to be desired.

I think you spent a little too long deliberating on a popstar/band to secure for your idea and in all honesty I think you could've skipped that bit and saved some time (I think you spent an hour at least, discussing it!) So it was a bit confusing and not really relevant when I read that.

But in all, it's a sound idea and something that's a great team effort.

Elite

From the start it was a bit of a two-man show with Jake and Drew, and Jake I definitely think that you put your all into this task. I really liked your graphic contributions and I actually found your team's idea the most fun of the two.

That said, for a supposed cafe there really wasn't much of an idea to swallow. All you've really presented us with is a menu and a logo, and there's nothing here in the way of presentation, business plans or strategy.

I'll speak a little more about all of your individual contributions later, because you'll be under the spotlight. The winners of this task are Enterprise :pipe:

Lucas. I was less impressed with your task entry in the first round than I was with Jon's, because his thread felt more natural... but then you did tap into true TiBB territory and made a typical C&G thread.

But I remember in the last series of the Apprentice you were fired first for not really contributing and your two or three posts in the social group this time around only add to that problem.

Jon, it'd be a huge risk putting you through to the next task because there's the chance you won't join in again and it wouldn't be fair on your team. But with that said, if you were contributing at your fullest, anywhere near how you did in the last series of the Apprentice, you'd probably give Elite a reason to live up to their name.
And I did enjoy your first task entry, even if your posts in the thread were few and far between.

So right now, I'm torn between two choices: an uncertain wildcard, and a consistent underperformer...

I'm a little bit worried by how long it took for you guys to put a team together and the decision of who was team leader was just as awkward. Once you finally got that sorted, I think it left you all with very little time to actually discuss ideas and share designs.
When Lucas stepped up and suggested that the team use a website that automatically generates business cards I was relieved; partly because he was the first person across both teams who seemed to understand what a business card should look like, but also because it was the team's first idea :laugh: But on reflection, I'm glad the team didn't use it because it would've been a little bit of an easy option and wouldn't have shown much creative flair.
In the team rooms I saw designs from three members - Loukas, Lucas and Drew - and I have to say I liked Loukas' the most and Drew's were a close second. Lucas, aside from being a little too big, they didn't really contain any information or the usual bits and bobs you'd find on business cards (contact details, company names).

Here's what my trusty advisor Josy thought...

I think Team Elite could have spent a lot more time and effort on this task, I know they have made an effort in the past few hours some members a lot more than others but it's just a little too late imo, the team never really made an effort to work together instead choosing to do things their own individual ways, saying that, they did have some good ideas behind their designs.

My favourite designs were Marc's and mine :pipe:

After your strong performance last time around I was a bit surprised to see a little bit of a meltdown in the team this afternoon with the confusion of who was team leader, and Pothuthic claiming Jordan. wasn't a good one :suspect: I was also a bit worried that the task might stump some of you because to my knowledge Jordan was the only one with any reputation for good designs on TiBB (just from the avatar contests).
Pothuthic, in all honesty, your early designs were...well...gross. I was hoping for someone else to come along and help, and when Vanessa stepped in it only got a little bit worse I'm afraid. She had ideas but she just used existing images from Google.
Lewis coming online I think saved the team and took Jordan's good design templates and pushed them even further. Jordan also did well to make sure each card had the basic criteria of a business card, and with help from Vanessa and Morrissey in tracking down information and quotes to slip onto the cards, you worked together to create some professional designs.
Ultimately though, the individual performer across both teams has to be Lewis for his finishing touches to the designs and getting them all together, I think his contribution to the group turned the task around drastically.

So I think Team Enterprise put more effort into this task and came up with better results, that's not to say they worked great as a team either, there was some in-squabbling between them but in the end they got the task done as they were supposed to.

Unlike the second task, there's actually a good case to fire just about any of the three of you, so before you get comfortable I should warn you that each of the three of you were considered by the panel prior to this decision :pipe:

The team failed because you didn't select a leader early on and the only poster prior to 9am today was InOne. It took you all until 2pm to decide upon a team leader and this reluctance to step forward was a bit disappointing because it ultimately meant that the task never properly got going.

Before I start, I'd like to say that this has clearly been the most difficult decision so far, and that I'm pleased to see a major step up from the Elite team. Both games have strong selling points and I think, with tweaking, could easily succeed on TiBB. And both task entries were real team efforts. My decision in the poll came down to the most niggling of complaints so I'm happy that the decision of who wins didn't come down to just me, this time.

Entry A
One major problem before we start: I hated everything about BB10's designs. The eye, the diary room, the house... no thanks. Garish, tacky mess, the lot of it. This leads me onto some of my other complaints about your entry... I wasn't really keen on the fonts and designs anywhere on the board, or banner :laugh: And the forum award is way too big compared to the ones that already exist. I think your chance/community chest cards were simple and that's a good thing, otherwise it'd look too busy, but if I had to change one thing I'd drop the shadows from the text on the back of the cards. It works on the front because it makes it stand out, but on a pale green background it's unnecessary.
I'd have also skim-read the examples of cards you gave, some of the words you've given, or not given capital letters, are a little bizarre... (beginning of each sentence, "To The")
I know it wasn't your intention but I'm worried that some voters in the poll just saw "haha a Niamh being old joke" and voted for you straight away.
My biggest concern with your game idea though is that you didn't present an example of how the game would work. You vaguely alluded to some automatic, online dice but that really means nothing if you don't present an example of that; I wouldn't have the faintest idea where to find something like that. I think what sealed my voting decision was that the other team presented a clear example of how the rounds and questions would be posed.

In terms of your strengths... I liked the idea of using Big Brother Housemates as the game pieces, though, and the names you've given to the TiBB properties were nice nods to the forum. (However, in the game instructions you say 13 people could play at one time, but there're only 12 pieces?) I also liked the brief idea of using iconic Big Brother items (a rubber chicken, diary room chair) but I understand this would've been difficult to design. (Perhaps a defibrilator and a wine bottle too? :whistle:)
Obviously the actual concept itself is totally unique and will probably be more likely to attract interest from forum members; especially compared to the other team's entry, which could arguably be seen as a kind of mish-mash of several existing games.
I also quite like the idea of 13 people on a standard size Monopoly board at once... it would most likely be chaos. And given the bartering aspect of real-life Monopoly you could possibly factor in some gameplay and alliances (however shortlived) to the game: maybe, to tie it in closer with the Big Brother theme, give out a free property as part of a twist, or announce that the next person to land on a certain square is automatically eliminated from the game :laugh:

Aren't you glad you didn't go with the 'TiBB Cook-Off' idea? :whistle:

I noticed a fair few strange errors when I went over your explanation:
- Your example question of an anagrammed wife... I assume it was Catherine of Aragon, who doesn't have an S in her name :whistle:
- You gave the teams the names 'The Red team' and 'the Blue team'... and yet the logo is red and green? Might as well make it the same to give it a sense of unity.
- The image question would be quite easily Googled.
- I also didn't like your solution to the possible imbalance of teams; giving the weakest players from the winning team would only create further imbalance, I feel.

I think that maybe the very text-heavy presentation you submitted (in contrast to Elite's many designs) might have put off a few readers and voters; perhaps some subheadings or team logos might have made it more eye-catching.

On the other hand, in the team room the team leader was working on a quite good presentation "to the boardroom" pitch and I'm a little disappointed that wasn't used, because someone else came along and took charge, since it was written in a very easy-to-follow style.

In terms of your team's strengths, obviously you've pulled it out of the bag again and designed a very lovely logo that slots very nicely into the sleek designs we usually see from Josy, Matt or Tom. I'd have maybe capitalised the "off" though just to make it stand-out a little more (as you did in the write-ups).
I can sort of see where there may be some complaints that the game's quite similar to existing games (the pub quiz's game, the Apprentice's elimination format :laugh:) but if anything that's a firm example of why the game would work on a forum straight away; FaceOff doesn't need much explaining.

If I were to pick a member of Enterprise that I was most impressed by, it'd be quite difficult but I think Jordan's wariness and persistence with keeping the game unique (as well as coming up with the idea in the first place) just edges out the others' contributions. As for Elite, it'd probably be Jake for suggesting the most ideas in the early stages of the task, and getting really behind the group's decision. Also for writing up the explanation.

Ultimately, if I had to decide which of the two games was best, I'd ask myself two questions. Which seems the most fun and the most unique game TiBB has yet to see? Monopoly. Which is more likely to succeed, and is ready to go? Face/Off.
