Obviously your idea stands out given the very similar nature of the other two teams, but that's not necessarily automatically in your favour. As some of the questions from the investors suggest, you may have had too much going on in your idea.

When popping into your team room over the past two days, the biggest impression you gave was that you were running around coming up with all sorts of quirky and possibly fun ideas for the paper rather than working on how it would work, and what your pitch would look like. I admire that you sought approval from many guest editors and writers but I think it distracted you from the final project's overall look. Jack_ hit the nail on the head really wondering how it would appear on the site.

The idea would also rely upon a lot of members and I'm not sure I can see it going ahead without a few hiccups. Also I would rather let my cat suck me off than see Smithy's desperate ARTPOP promo week in and week out.

I definitely enjoyed your pitch though and think you put a lot of thought into making it a fun and new idea for the forum. I also respect Pothuthic as a neutral editor and think he would definitely give this project his all (and with Vanessa as a coworker I'm assured of results).

Before I assess your task, may I just say that I think you had an opportunity, Natalie, to seal two star performers for your team here and you only chose one. I would've tried to capture Vanessa given her work-rate, in your position, but I understand you may have just wanted to work with a team you know and trust.

Which leads me onto the team assessment... where were you guys? You had nothing solid until about 4pm today, and most of that was thanks to an uncertain design from Jake (which you didn't really commit to, from what I make of his posts in the subforum) and a last-minute write-up from Drew.

I think you and the Joukas team may have come up with the most "ready" feature ideas but I was a little let down by how similar they were to the defunct version.

Boo to your lack of a team name.

So I was a little frightened after day one of the task because there weren't any posts in your room :umm2: and then today a miracle happened. Jordan, I think you really got the ball rolling with your eye-catching designs and it seemed to spark Loukas into action, too, and you worked well together to tweak the suggestion and come up with many ideas.

You may have a disadvantage tonight in that you're presenting a similar idea to the Ozils after them but hopefully the greater work you've put into the presentation shows. I think yours had a few more ideas that stood out above the Ozils' - the idea of a forum award, the changing colour scheme and trending topics - but there were a few weakpoints too.

Of the complaints I'd offer, there're a few silly ones (the logo reminds me of the Monsters Inc logo for some reason :conf2:, the idea of Rita Ora trending) but more importantly I think you may have talked yourselves out of the win with the Q&A. I think you may have been safer just saying it's open 24/7 rather than try to make it seem practical, and using YouTube videos rather than having to upload tracks would be so much simpler :laugh:

If I had to pick a star performer from all of the above teams, it would be Loukas on account of his presentation skills, his work to really polish up the task entry, and taking the baton from Jordan and running with it.

And, similarly, if pushed I would have opted for the Loukas & Jordan. team as the winning team, but it's not down to me is it :inamood:

5 points - Jordan/Loukas. I think their design of it and description was good, I feel it would work well on TiBB. The copyright thing is an issue easily fixed by using YT vids instead. Took a while to answer some questions and seemed little perplexed by some. Overall though this would be the one I would invest in for TiBB.


3 points - Just getting these is Drew, Jake and Natalie. I think it is a workable idea on TiBB, just lacking any real enthusiasm or self-input. I feel the answers to the questions were weak and that they played it far too safe. They need to learn to answer questions better too if they make the final or it will be their undoing.


1 point: Vanessa/Pothutic - I love this idea, it different, it;s funny, it just would not work on TiBB. It would be a fad that lasted a few weeks if that before succumbing to the depths of TiBB joining most of the social groups and the blogs as rarely used areas. I did like their pitch however and their question answering, but it comes down to the product, which sadly let them down.

A clear, well structured pitch with a solid idea and interactivity. They were very good at answering posed questions and criticisms

Another excellent idea only topped by the above. Their pitch was a bit wafflely (spelling sorry) and could have easily been broken down into different section, bullet points to attract attention and to further convey their ideas. Also the lack of input in the answering questions section disappointed me and contributed to this average scoring

1 point - Mitchell and Vanessa
A different idea, yes, but not as exciting as the two other ideas. Also, they should have been prepared not to offend people and look for reasons that all people could accept it and enjoy it and not pass it off as a 'joke'. Also, it seemed that only one person was doing to the work while the other person was reaping the benefits with contributed to their low score.

Morrissey, Drew. & Jake. - I've chosen you three as my boardroom candidates because I was dismayed at the activity in your team room these past two days. It was like watching Lucas all over again... you flatlined.

Natalie, I mentioned earlier that I considered this your prime opportunity to seal two proven performers for your team and whilst I think what Drew and Jake managed to achieve wasn't bad... it just paled in comparison to Loukas' designs or Pothuthic's pitching.

Drew., I could sense you were getting frustrated with your team as you were probably the most active participant of this task and were left with a lot to do at the very deadline end of it. I liked your pitch, but felt it was a little bit of a chore to read and didn't really grab me (or the investors, it seems) quite as much as the rival MusicBox idea did.

Jake., I actually really liked your design for the logo but if I'm honest the lasting impression I got from your posts in the team room was a new TiBB Does the Apprentice catchphrase :amazed: "as soon as I get back from college". Not your fault obviously :D I just didn't see a lot else from you.

Their design and explaination was really good, it was clear that they were going to win the task as soon as they posted and they answered questions superbly.

It was a good idea, but they were reluctant to answer questions on how it was different to competitors and the quality wasn't up to standard.

Here it is.

Task deadline is 7pm on Sunday. The six of you will then each score the other 5 in order of contribution in your opinion. Your top ranked fellow candidate will therefore receive 5 points and so on, meaning your lowest ranked fellow candidate will receive 1 point.

When I tally it all up, the 2 highest scoring candidates will automatically progress and the other 4 will face the Boardroom. 1 will be fired.

The scores will all be pmd to an independent witness to ensure all is above board. I won't be revealing how you all scored each other publicly, just the overall results.

Doing it individually will be great for the final outcome and I'm looking forward to seeing the results, just there's nothing much for us to base critique on apart from end product.

Guys, sorry. I didn't attach the voting procedure to the task description....

Here it is.

Task deadline is 7pm on Sunday. The six of you will then each score the other 5 in order of contribution in your opinion. Your top ranked fellow candidate will therefore receive 5 points and so on, meaning your lowest ranked fellow candidate will receive 1 point.

When I tally it all up, the 2 highest scoring candidates will automatically progress and the other 4 will face the Boardroom. 1 will be fired.

The scores will all be pmd to an independent witness to ensure all is above board. I won't be revealing how you all scored each other publicly, just the overall results.

Hello I'm Pothuthic and today I am here to introduce you to the brand new General Election advertising campaign!

To start off I will show you one of my adverts

They are nice and simple, eye catching and they aren't too over the top.

These adverts are good because they are effective and portray the message without using too much.

In the upcoming weeks to the election we will advertise these by putting these in the organisers signatures and by having smaller profile picture adverts as their avatars

We will also have a few designs which will alternate in adverts in the advert spots on TiBB.

When dates are confirmed they will replace the "Coming Soon" part of the advertisement.

New adverts will be released every 4 days to keep up interest and to tease people of what's to come!

I've used black and white as they are simple colours that serve a huge purpose, they are quite eye catching as I think people would see that and be intrigued.

Different designs will be produced with various pictures replacing the ballot box picture that is currently on our design. (such as Ribbons)

We will also be designing a post which looks back at the 2013 election process which was very successful on the forum.

Since Vanessa has resigned from the competition, I used my own initiative and took on her task since we were told to produce 6 between us.

Vanessa was given 'Social Groups' to advertise, so I decided to pick the ever popular 18+ group.

As you can see I have used the 18 logo that the group boasts as its logo on the forums.

I've used the colour scheme white and red as its the colours they we for the 18 sign and I felt if I used that it would be appropriate.

This would be a link directing the visitors to their inbox where they can PM Shaun asking to join since it is an invite only group.

Since this is an ongoing group rather than a one off event there won't be a need for signatures, avatars etc

Unfortunately Drew couldn't access his computer this weekend, s I took onthe job for him.

He gave me the TiBB pub quiz sign, I tried my best to make an advert suitable to the logo he gave me, the iPad software I have isn't the best, but this is what I've come up with

I decided to make a billboard because Most Loved is one of those threads on TiBB that any member could be involved in, so i wanted to incorporate as many members names into the design as i could.

The different segments of the background of my advert are meant to represent some of the different members on the forum, i decided what names were going to be part of my advert completely randomly. I decided to keep the names to a minimum of just over 40 because i thought if i added any more names it would look tacky.

The names are in the background of the advert because the competition hasn't begun yet, the names symbolise the members looking at the glowing heart. (cause i dunno what ya'll all look like)

Here is my advert for the site/forum itself. The letters TiBB are made up of sub-forums/various topics which are open to discussion on TiBB. I know myself that when I was considering joining, it was a bit of an off-putting thought that only Big Brother would be discussed, and I believe that this could be the general consensus of others who like watching Big Brother. My advert attempts to make it known that Big Brother isn't the only topic of discussion on TiBB, and infact the forum allows for hundreds of different discussions, each being suited to individual people. If more people were aware of this, I believe that more would be inclined to join :)
