Everytime I think about it, I go cold and all goosepimply.

I need to share a story with you all.

My brother works for a construction company, and they do insurance work like repairs and that. The other day, two of the lads went to take photos of this property, so the boss could estimate a quote.
It's a 14th century cottage and its run right down.
The iPad they were taking photos on kept resetting itself everytime they entered a room. They thought they managed to get a good few then drove home. They dropped the iPad off at the office for the boss for him to go through the pictures.

They got a phonecall a while later and the boss asked what they were playing at because only one picture came out. They explained about the iPad resetting itself and the boss was 'its not just that, you need to see the picture that did come out'

The picture is of a room with old wall lights on the wall and in the middle of the room is a silhouette of a man. This man is wearing a cloak and a hat and he's holding his hand out as though he's protesting something.

I'll get my brother to send me the picture tomorrow and I'll show you. It's the strangest image I have ever seen and its the only picture that came out.

..maybe it's a double exposure type thing.?..

Jake.

A family friend went to the woods with her 3 young girls a few years back and took a load of photographs of them playing in the river etc. Basically, when she got them printed, in about 3/4 of the photo's, one of the girls literally had a different face. It wasn't just a funny facial expression she was pulling at the time, her eyes were jet black in all of the photo's and her face looked distorted and dead, even in the group photo's, where the other two children looked normal. That creeped me out a bit when I saw it, and usually I don't get creeped by ghostly experiences.

Jake.
16-03-2014, 09:33 AM
That's horrible D: I find stuff like that really interesting though!

Lewis.
16-03-2014, 09:38 AM
It was so weird, even the guy that developed the photo's couldn't believe it. On one photo, you'd understand that it might just be a problem with the print, but on all 4 of them in different areas of the photo... so spooky.

Glenn.... I cried with laughter at Have You Met The Millers, absolute genius from start to finish. And Jennifer Aniston's 'strip' scene was seriously hot and that's from a straight girl. She's amazing, I want to be her.

Lewis.

My dad used to work at a power station, sometimes did nightshifts. A man who'd worked there previously and passed away was often seen by my dad and his workmate just walking around the perimeter of the fence, they caught a glimpse for a few seconds of him walking along and then he faded away. Happened regularly.

...awww, I think it kind of makes you feel better in a strange way, when you're looking through things..you kind of remember stuff that makes you smile, it did for me anyway..it's just that I wanted to keep it all, so I had to be quite disciplined and just keep a few things....it's funny how people hoard stuff, I'm really not a hoarder at all...

Yeah, it's pretty much the same as Itunes, but in book form! Some books aren't on there, which can be quite annoying, and sometimes, because there's no 'charity shop' versions of books as such it can be quite expensive for some books because they're all considered to be brand new. You can cheat though and download whole ebooks online for free using torrents etc, but I hardly ever do that as I appreciate knowing I've payed for my entertainment. If it's too expensive though I will!

..are they around the same cost as actual books then, Lewis..?..I somehow thought they would just be a £1 or something because I know downloaded music is much cheaper that a CD...

Some of them are a lot cheaper! I usually manage to spend about a fiver each time I go on there and that'll buy me about 3/4 books! The classics are all free, which is good! Some books are quite expensive, however, when you can usually find plenty of them in charity shops for 50p... the kindle forces you to buy them brand new, that's all! It's good for reading work from undiscovered authors, and there's pretty much something for everyone's tastes because of the wealth of material on there!

..oh, that's not such a bad price then, but yeah I get a lot of books for free because we have a book swap at work, although sometimes people are reluctant to let go of books so there isn't always a great choice...I might have a look at a Kindle, I think they should make you an Executive there, Lewis..you've done a good job of 'selling' me one.....

Ha that'd be the day

But seriously though, I know a lot of people like just having a physical copy of a book, but the Kindle is so portable it's great. You never lose your page... you can make the text bigger and smaller, change the text/page colour - it's great!

Congrats!

Seen a lot of third years out celebrating this week because they've done their dissertations!

Mine is due on the 18th of April, I set myself a target of having a completed first draft ready by the 18th of March (tomorrow) so when I write my introduction tomorrow that'll be me on track and onto the amendments stage of making changes where necessary. My advisor has been quite slow in getting work back to me which is my main concern, I hope he doesn't take weeks to get things back to me because that gives me less time to get a final draft together and I don't want to be working on it right up until the deadline!

God, sounds so stressful! That's the one thing I prefer about GCSEs/Alevels - your work is usually given back to you in the space of a few days. Takes about 3/4 weeks for my work to be marked and handed back. What are you studying?

..yeah, I remember it happened once before, Jake..if it's genetic then there is nothing anyone can do and just one of those really sad things that's inevitable..I know it's really upsetting for you though...

Yeah, mum was crying saying that she will definitely have her neutered as soon as she is able to be done

..I think it's probably a good decision Jake because it's just such an upsetting thing to keep happening...but I know you and your mum will look after him for as long as you can, and that's a lovely thing, Jake....

...ahhh, runts are always a worry but sometimes they're strong enough to survive..I think he probably had a bit too hard of a fight if he also had a genetic disease as well though......do you have homes for the others yet..have you named them, Jake..?..

Yes, it's raining here, I'm not doing anything special, but I have to go out to do a bit of food shopping and I can't carry bags and hold an umbrella at the same time and my jacket doesn't have a hood, so it's a tough one.

...ughhh, yeah I see what you mean, that's awkward if you don't have a hood...I always think that umbrellas are the most evil things in the world, it makes me really nervous when I walk past someone holding one because they often aren't aware of how close they are to you and those end bits could poke you in the eye...I you feeling any better, Jess..?...

Morning

Just particularly long - 9 to 5 without a single break :( Usually my days consist of 1/2 lectures but they've moved all of the previously cancelled ones from the past 12 weeks to today for some reason, so it's a bit jam packed. And, because my attendance has been particularly bad due to the wrong decisions I usually make to go out drinking, I'm pretty much being monitored, so can't miss any :hmph:

Ammi
18-03-2014, 06:47 AM
...hmmm, yeah it is a difficult one because obviously, uni work is important but I think equally important is the social side as well because that's kind of often the part that gets you through and keeps you going..?..

..yeah, that is a huge long day and hard to keep an attention span for that length of time..but I guess the positive is that you'll get all of the lectures out of the way in one go/day...

Lewis.
18-03-2014, 06:49 AM
Yeah, I've had my cheerios to wake me up, so all good to go

Ammi
18-03-2014, 06:54 AM
..maybe just have lots of high energy stuff to keep your attention span today and then at 5pm, you can give a big sigh knowing that you can then just chill a bit this evening...stupid unis, I don't know why they have to spoil it all by putting lectures right in the middle of socialising/party time...and they're meant to be intelligent people who make these decisions as well...?....pfffft....
