…Untamed is very good….…a good reality show watch is Destination X…it’s kind of Race Across the World meets The Traitors…

….Nicky posted a thread that there’s a US version too but I’m watching the UK one atm, I’ll probably catch up with the US one as well after this…
I'll definitely give Destination X a look, it does sound interesting.
Been watching Derry Girls for the past 2 days, what an absolutely amazing show, I can't believe it's taken me this long to start it.
Yeah it is a little gem for sure !!

I loved Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead from 2010 right up to when his son died (in the show).
After that the show went downhill and all the spin-offs were a load of tosh too.
But I still like Andrew as an actor: so much so I am gonna watched him in Coldwater an ITV1 series I believe.

Did you watch Better Call Saul?, because in many ways, it's probably better than Breaking Bad
Yes, I did see it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also watched the film. Niamh suggested I watched them in order or storylines might be spoiled, and she was right. I like the way that, between the Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and El Camino, the whole thing was drawn together and tied up with a bow.
…just finished Dept Q, it was a good enough watch and adapted from a Danish crime fiction author Jussi Adler-Olsen…I believe there are 10 stories written so maybe they’ll adapt all/more of them…

…oh we had that connection in one of the UK ones…mother and son…in the first season I think there was boyfriend/girlfriend as well …one of the US ones had an added thing of the players not being regular people but all being past reality TV contestants who had been known in their show season for having very manipulative aspects to their character so the paranoia was off the scale…:fan:…the first US one had the best people in though with a feud between two of the females that was just relentless/hilarious…

…I’ve just started to watch Black Rabbit on Netflix…it’s good enough/jogs along ok as the two lead actors, Jason Bateman and Jude Law know what they’re doing, they’ve been around the acting block a bit and know the drill etc but it’s another story that’s difficult attach to any of the characters…I don’t know, they both feel a bit miscast, I guess…and the story seems a bit formula …it’s ok, though…

…I mean, it’s watchable enough because the two leads are so skilled at their art and so watchable but the storyline itself and their characters feels like such a let down of having them both on the screen together…it’s a flimsy storyline and watered down characters…(…I’m talking myself out of continuing to watch it……I will see it through, though…)…

Black Rabbit review – it’s almost impossible to care about Jude Law and Jason Bateman in this TV misery

https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/sep/18/black-rabbit-review-its-almost-impossible-to-care-about-jude-law-and-jason-bateman-in-this-tv-misery
…I do think that Netflix and maybe other big streaming sites have to up their game quite a bit and not so much rely on single series like Stranger Things to keep their pull of viewers …and then give us so many mediocre series or even not great stuff at all/flimsy and thin storylines…with Jason Bateman and Jude Law and a so,I’d support cast, Black Rabbit should have been a great watch but it really didn’t even come close, imo….

I finished my nostalgia watch of Martin Mystery.
And tbh it was a really fun kids Cartoon in my view, it had lots of stuff to like about it if you can take it for what it's actually going for, and not in comparison to shows like Game Of Thrones or Breaking Bad etc (although I haven't personally watched Breaking Bad myself), because if you're someone that's expecting that level of quality or style out of every TV Show that you watch then you're not going to enjoy Martin Mystery obviously.
But anyway, I would score the Show a 9/10, it's got fun characters, fun cases, and it can be a little creepy at times for a kids Show imo, the Season 3 episode that involved the Gnomes did creep me out, I won't lie about that.
The only real issues that I feel the Show developed was mainly in it's final Season unfortunately, it's not to say that it's bad by any means (every Season of Martin Mystery is fun to watch imo,) but Java being underwritten and Diana being over-focussed to the point that Martin isn't feeling like the lead in the last ever episode, are the flaws that I'm talking about.
I actually do like Diana's character overall, but the last two episodes were unfortunate for the character imo, I get what the writers were trying to go for, but unfortunately the execution needed a lot of fixing to warrant that ending for her character.:umm2:
But moaning aside, I really enjoyed the Show, and I would recommend MM to anyone that might be looking for something similar to either Supernatural or the Buffyverse, but aimed towards kids instead.
And yes I do still like some kids Shows.
I have also been watching a Japanese Anime called Yatagarasu.
I've watched 9 episodes of it so far, and it is a decent Show tbf (much better than a lot of the Animes that I've watched recently lol) but I'm not a superfan of it or anything.
It's more at the level of I Parry Everything for me than (say) Skip And Loafer (which was really good, I was surprised at how much I liked that Show) but like I Parry Everything I do enjoy Yatagarasu to a point, but something is just stopping it from being up there with my favourite Animes.
I honestly can't even put my finger on it, it's doing a lot of the things that I typically like, but it's still more at a 7/10 enjoyment level for me.
Which I suppose beats the abomination Animes that I've witnessed a lot recently.:joker:
…I loved the first season of Morning Show……but the second season just isn’t gripping me for some reason…

Re-watched a William Hartnell Doctor Who recently - The Aztecs. So bloody good. In all honestly, I think early sixties Doctor Who is just the teensiest bit spotty when it comes to the sci-fi. But its pure historicals are consistently brilliant and well written.

I didn't watch it when it first came out but caught an episode in tv a few years ago, it dragged me in and I watched the whole thing in a few weeks. Loved it. I like your avi too... I only watched GoT in the last year or so.
Watching Monster: The Ed Gein Story. Chilling so far. Charlie Hunnum is brilliant in the lead, and a world away from his character in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen.

Just finished The Guest on BBC Iplayer. It was alright if you like a bit of mystery.
Now attempting to watch Frauds on ITV player. It's alright but it's a bit weird as it's trying to mix a Hollywood movie like plot with reality drama.

The first 5 episodes were definitely slow but I must say it picks up in 6 and 7 for sure. They should have cut out at least 3 episodes and jumped to 6-7.

The first two season were awesome.
This third season not so much but I still watch.
The season only has one episode remaining after tomorrow's.

I watched The Great during my time away from this site. Really funny show that revels in its blatant historical inaccuracy. Nicholas Hoult and Ellie Fanning were both fantastic in their roles. Hoult in particular is becoming a favourite of mine.

He's such a puddy in this thriller. So frustrating. You will shout at him via the tv. This version of him would never survive in the walking dead
Good drama though

…so I finished binge watching this…I’m not even sure that I liked it, in that it was hard to connect with any of the characters…but the storyline did grip so I wanted to see it through to the end…and then was left flat, not a favourite series I have to say but I watched it…

It's enjoyable but frustrating.
One thing I like about British dramas is that they don't drag on and on. Most of them are 4-6 episodes so you don't have to torture yourself trying to finish them.

The plot line was gripping, but the delivery wasn't the best. As a lead Andrew Lincoln could have been better.
I do not like the end. It was unecessary and a huge pothole

Big Brother Canada 4! Afterwards I'm gonna rewatch BBUK9 for the first time since 2008 when it originally aired. I remember liking it and I believe it's a fan favourite among those here...
…I’ve just finished binging a mini series called Little Disasters, which was recommended to me…it’s only 6 episodes, so a quick binge..it’s a 10 outta 10 type story as Arista would say and very well cast…
lysL3NBLzSA
An adaptation of the hit novel of the same name from bestselling author Sarah Vaughan (Anatomy of a Scandal), Little Disasters is a complex psychological thriller with a mystery at its heart. The series centres on the friendship between Jess (Diane Kruger), Liz (Jo Joyner), Mel (Emily Taaffe) and Charlotte (Shelley Conn), four expectant mothers who met ten years prior in an antenatal class. They have since formed lasting friendships and supported each other through motherhood, until now.
The world of seemingly perfect stay-at-home mother Jess begins to unravel when she brings her baby daughter Betsy to the hospital with a head injury she can’t explain. Her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor, Liz, must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services.

I've watched nearly the first Season of Dinosaur King.:joker:
It's a really fun Show imo, something that the modern Anime scene is sorely lacking in my view.
I can see why it was reasonably popular with kids in my age group back in the day.
In particular Ursula is a star character for this Show, I honestly think that I could watch a Spin-off Show on her and her two Alpha Gang friends.

Just caught up a bit on Hollyoaks....John Middleton has to be the worse actor I have ever seen.
…I just finished watching Mobland …it felt so different in vibe to something like Godfather…Harry reminded me a lot of Mike’s character in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad…I didn’t feel as though the violent scenes needed to be what they were once it was established who/what the Harriman’s were and who rival people were etc…anyway, yeah…the characters were well written/obviously not nice people but well written…Maeve and Conrad were almost comedy level……and it was funny how Emmett J Scanlan’s character was almost invisible…I mean, I can’t even recall what his character name was, he virtually had no speaking part and felt so not there…and yet his character played quite a big part in ‘events’ in the storyline……
…obviously some of the characters who did have lots of dialogue/in contrast…I thought, of jeez, please no…/…the accents of Maeve and Conrad at times were a bit distracting from how sinister and threatening their characters were….Joanne Froggatt, as always very good …and Tom Hardy was a very good Harry…

…I just watched a 4 part series/story called Life after Life as recommended by HettyTheHarelip ….very dark in many places, it was a very good storyline and totally absorbing…an interesting and well done exploring of ‘what if…’………
…along a similar path of another book I read recently ‘The Names’…/but differences as well/…how small things in a life could change everything and what if we could continue and ‘put right…’…
…just watching the last episode of the second season of Nobody Wants This…I love this series/such likeable characters and so slick and well written…..I’m not sure though shether it can sustain another season unless it’s to conclude the story as it’s just very limited in direction…

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2
i don't know which side is worse, The Dama and The Croat's group or New Babylon
it is very enjoyable, deffo better than the last couple of seasons from the main series
also i heard dutch language in season 2 episode 5 :o from the one group led by a guy named Christos (played by Jake Weary)
oh and also the guy who plays Bruegel i thought i knew him, but he is the same guy who played the role of Ron Saris on CSI Miami, actor's name is Kim Coates

TWD Dead City season 2 episode 6
omg a Bear walker :o how badass it killed those normal walkers in the museum smashing their heads in, and seemed immortal to knives, but not a sharp fence of course into its brain
and also
more good character development for Negan, you really sympathize more and more with him, how him killing Glenn, Abraham wasn't anything personal, just his ways of keeping Sanctuary safe for his people, to teach other groups who pass by their territory a lesson, but good he learns it now how that was all a mistake from him which ultimately backfired on his group, and awwww on him sending his wife and son back to tennessee not wanting them to get hurt in New York, also love how he genuinely cares about Maggie, Hershel, Ginny

but Kim Coates is still good at playing sadistical pieces of ****, same in his CSI Miami days, as Ron Saris
also with The Croat (stellar role by Zeljko Ivanek anyway) and The Dama feels very fresher, also with a few episodes in croatian episode titles is also a nice touch

…it’s not the most riveting of series and quite doen in many ways because it’s about a city full of strangers but how their lives can touch and have a rippling effect on others and actually mould futures …it’s kind of a bit of a Hallmark card quote in a mini-series form, though…like a very extended Hallmark movie…but I am quite Tate he’d to the characters, I have to say and I also love that no one has been brutally murdered and that there is no violence…

It's extra cheesy for sure but that's part of the charm of it, he actually wrote it as well I think

…I was thinking about whether to give Tulsa King a try, it’s ok…?…I agree with High Potential, it’s a lighter watch that I dip in and out of, there are a few that I do that with…another to add to your list is All Her Fault, which is quite a quick miniseries but a good watch…

I've been doing a rewatch of a couple of The Voice USA Seaaons from years ago, just to see if my opinions have changed at all, and to some extent it actually has. Although I have only just got to the top 5 of Season 5, so I'll review that one once I've completed it.
My opinion on Season 4 though (as it was the very first Season of The Voice brand that I had watched.)
It may not have been the most polished Season vocally from top to bottom, it's packed with memorable contestants, bold choices (for better or worse) and a top 12 that sparks some strong opinions - which is half the fun on a rewatch.
VEDO - His Usher impersonation moments felt a bit cringe, and instead of coming across as a homage, it sometimes distracted from who he actually was as an artist.
Holly Tucker on the other hand, comes across as a genuinely good singer who didn't always get the best end of the stick when it comes to the song choices. With better material, I believe that she could have showcased her tone and musicality far more effectively. She's one of those contestants that I personally believe deserved more than what the Show ultimately gave her.
Garrett Gardner - His surname reminds me of the Gardner Brothers for the mighty BCFC.
Musically though, his experimental performance just didn't land for me.
Sarah Simmons - One of my biggest takeaways from my rewatch was just how underrated I believe Sarah to have been in this Season. She often gets overlooked in discussions of this Season, but I feel that she deserved far more recognition than she received. Her consistency and distinct vocal made her one of the quieter standouts imo.
The Swon Brothers bring me a wave of nostalgia as they remind me so much of Journey South off the second series of The X Factor. Wholesome, harmony-driven, and very much in their lane. While they're nothing groundbreaking, they were solid and likable.
Sasha Allen - My opinion is mixed tbh. I personally found her singing to be extremely unpleasant to listen to, but her confidence onstage was undeniable (especially the sexy outfit that she wore near the end of her run) but she always committed fully, and that level of self-belief deserves respect.
Josiah Hawley - He sits squarely in the middle of the pack for me. He was okay - competent, serviceable, but never someone who truly stood out or left a lasting impression. On a Season full of memorable performers, that neutrality worked against him for me.
Danielle Bradbery - She's impossible to ignore vocally. She's a very strong singer, no question. However, my rewatch really highlighted how much I found her Disney-esque performances to be quite boring. Polished and safe. It was effective, but it lacked excitement for me personally.
Judith Hill - Technically fine, but emotionally flat, her performances never seemed to ignite in my view, making her run feel far less impactful than it should have been on paper.
Michelle Chamuel - One of the true highlights of the Season. Weird, highly entertaining, and surprisingly talented, she brought something genuinely different to the stage. Even though she had weaker performances like Clarity and Why, her originality and willingness to lean into her eccentricity made her endlessly watchable.
Kris Thomas - I would rather watch an Aston Villa match tbh.
Amber Carrington - She had a good voice and absolutely nailed Sad, proving what she was capable of when everything clicked. That said, her other performances were more uneven, making her journey feel inconsistent rather than fully realized.
Overall, Season 4 reinforces itself as a Season of contrasts - big voices, underrated gems, and a few acts that haven't aged well. It might not be perfect, but it's certainly memorable and entertaining.
…I watched a series called Irish Blood yesterday, it was a very quick watch/only 6 episodes and all released …it wasn’t the most riveting but actually I enjoyed it …I thought it wasn’t too badly blended with the more serious and darker aspects of the story/and a sometimes slightly lighter touch and it’s left open for a season 2 …I love Alicia Silverstone and I love Ruth Codd, so two excellent reasons to watch…..

The Voice USA Season 5.
Looking back at Season 5, it's honestly wild how much opinion of the Season has soured over time. Years ago, I remember enjoying it quite a bit more, but revisiting it with older eyes its flaws painfully obvious to me. What once felt like a solid Season instead felt frustrating, uneven, and full of missed opportunities.
The biggest tease of Season 5 was its Top 12 round, which showed real promise. That week felt like the Season had the potential to really click for me, the cast looked strong, varied, and capable of delivering something memorable. Unfortunately, that promise was almost immediately squandered. None of the Live Shows after the top 12 ever reached that level again imo. Poor song choices plagued the Season, creative risks were minimal, and the Show became far too reliant on Jacquie Lee and James Wolpert to carry the weight. And when they weren't excelling, the Live Shows felt flat and forgettable.
Below is a breakdown of my opinions on the top 12 in more depth.
Caroline Pennell - Caroline undeniably had a distinct vocal tone, which should've been her biggest strength. Yet, for whatever reason, it never truly came together. Her performances often felt half-formed, interesting in theory, but lacking the emotional or technical payoff needed to make them stick. There was potential there, but it stayed frustratingly unrealized.
Josh Logan - Josh delivered what is, without exaggeration, the dullest version of Man In The Mirror possible. He managed to drain all urgency and soul from a song that practically begs for both (especially the soul part) his run on the Show felt uninspired.
James Wolpert - Easily one of the most interesting contestants in the Season by a country mile. James had artistry and a sense of Musical identity that felt far beyond most of the cast. Honestly, he belonged on a better Season. Surrounded by stronger song choices and more adventurous production, he could've been a defining contestant for The Voice instead of being trapped in a mediocre year.
Austin Jenckes - To be fair, Austin actually had a good voice throughout the Season, he's probably a bit underrated in retrospect. He wasn't flashy by any means, but there was consistency and sincerity in his performances that deserved more recognition. While he didn't redefine the competition, he is better than I reckon a lot of The Voice might give him credit for.
Jacquie Lee - I'm headed towards spoilers.
But Jacquie should have won Season 5. She had one of the best vocals of her year, strong confidence onstage, and the ability to deliver under pressure. Even now, watching back, it's baffling that she didn't take the crown. She carried herself like a winner and consistently performed like one. Easily the rightful champion in hindsight.
Ray Boudreaux - Ray had a decent vocal, but unfortunately "decent" was about as far as it went. His performances suffered from being a bit dull and predictable, never really pushing beyond his comfort zone. He wasn't bad per say, just forgettable unfortunately.
Kat Robichaud - Kat's Sail performance was genuinely fun and visually engaging, that said, she simply wasn't one of the strongest vocalists in the competition. Her appeal leaned more towards style rather than substance.
Jonny Gray - Jonny was... Fine. Perfectly okay. And that's the problem. He never truly stood out in a meaningful way. In a Season that desperately needed more Spark, being okay just wasn't enough.
Tessanne Chin - Her Reggae performances were good, her other type of performances were less good imo.
Matthew Schuler - He butchered Imagine Dragons.
And Cole and Will were varying shades of extremely dull throughout most of the Live Shows.
Apologies for the rant btw, I even tired myself out there.:joker:

Well it's been a long time coming, but I can finally say that I've gotten into Frasier and like it a lot. Guess I shouldn't have based my opinion on catching the last 2-3 minutes of any given episode on CH4 in the morning.
t's ironic that I was resistant towards giving it a proper try for so long, because I've always adored Cheers.

Great show. I watched it for the first time 3 years ago and loved it since. It's like America's very own Top Boy.
There are 3 spin-offs if you wanna continue, 2 of them are direct continuations, and one is a prequel focusing on Kanan's (50 Cent's character) early years.

They're all good tbh. Ghost and Force at times are ridiculous but still entertaining shows. Raising Kanan is deffo the best and at times gives OG Power a run for its money.

Last night I checked out the pilot episodes of Pluribus and IT: Welcome To Derry.
I've had more entertainment catching the cold than watching either of these Shows.
Modern American TV is even more dumbed down nowadays than it was years ago imo, the writing and pacing from most of their newer Shows that I catch from them is absolutely diabolical. It makes the modern Anime scene look good in comparison.
In my view, if you want excellent made TV Shows that are more modern, then I recommend for people to check out the K-Dramas and Korean Reality TV.
Shows such as Mouse, Kingdom, Beyond Evil, The Guest, Physical 100, The Devil's Plan, and Nine Puzzles are all much better than anything (and I do mean anything) that America has released post-GOT.

I've finished an Anime series called Noir a few weeks ago, it takes a few episodes to get going, but overall it was an entertaining Action ride imo.
I'm also currently watching Sword Of The Demon Hunter, which is a bit of a mixed bag tbh.
Although episode 12 was really good imo, it was well paced for once.
And my favourite Show that I've been watching recently is Twin Peaks, I'm currently on Season 2 which I don't think is as good as Season 1 imo, but I am still enjoying it's bizarre writing lol.
