…I watched the first episode and was quite hooked…(…Andrew Scott is a favourite actor of mine…)…but then got sidetracked, I will get back to it soon though…I’m getting a long list of things I want to watch…
Watched the last one last night...we were hooked and we loved it.
I couldn't get in to Ripley at all, i think the pacing of the show is all wrong
…the pacing for sure in one aspect that I’m not gelling with…I don’t generally watch series based on movies so I guess that I thought it would be more of an expansion of the character and adding in to a storyline..things that a movie can’t really give so much because of running time restrictions etc…?…anyway, it doesn’t seem that at all and is just following the same storyline…but so far for me, the killings of Freddie and Dickie have been too drawn out in terms of hiding the bodies…two whole repetitive episodes devoted to just that…and it’s also no longer feeling credible in how/why the boat kept going around and around in the same circle and coming back to hit Ripley in some form…all potentially deadly blows and yet he survived it all and is perfectly unbothered health wise from it…I started to feel a little gripped but then found it all became tedious very quickly…also, I think to have shown the ‘technicolour’ of the Amalfi Coast setting and its beauty etc…but then also, see the darkness of the character within that colour…?…would have worked better for me than the black and white that was chosen…that doesn’t offer any contrast at all of light and dark and beauty of setting with ugliness of character…anyways, I’m not sure I’ll go back to it, as much as I love Andrew Scott…I don’t think the series is for me…
Watched the last one last night...we were hooked and we loved it.
…I love being hooked on a series and that feeling of just needing to watch until the end and anticipating each next episode…I’m not feeling that with Ripley atm, but I’m glad that you did…it really is a great feeling……

…anyway, I’ve started season 4 of The Unforgotten…
Oh I've fallen way behind, just 1 episode in to S3
Rate my takeaway.
He's just done my local chippy. The chippy I go to.
…I’ve started to watch Sugar, which I think is going to be pretty excellent…but there are only three episodes released so far, so I’ll have to watch it in real time or wait until ends to binge it…but very good watch so far and I love the Sugar character…
lKRtx0qzHBM
…this one has all the episodes released and it’s great and fun watch so far and zips along very quickly…it has lots of threads but they don’t make it complicated to follow…

…atm, I haven’t got past the first opening scenes of Dexter and think hmmmmmm, maybe it’s not for me…

It's a three Season run, and it's definitely completed.

…yeah, it’s a good storyline and Ripley is a very dark and cold character…Andrew Scott plays him very well and it has everything I would usually love to hold interest and enjoy it…?…I’m not sure why I couldn’t get with it and I think it’s probably mainly that it follows the same storyline as the movie…somehow I thought it would expand out from the movie, that’s probably down to me, though…I think that it’s probably one of the first times that I’ve watched a series that was movie based, so I didn’t know what to expect….anyway, I’m glad that you enjoyed it because it is a compelling story and the cast was excellent…

I've watched the first couple of episodes of Fallout.
I am liking it so far, it reminds me of an old school Sci-Fi Channel effort from back in the day.
And as a side note, Ella Purnell can join Rebecca Ferguson from Silo in attractive leads in Science Fiction over recent years.:flutter:
I'm thinking of the important stuff, as you can see.

There’s a channel on my freeview that shows old programs/series and they show two episodes of Prisoner (Cell Block H) every night so I’ve been watching those recently.
Brilliant show for its time. Lizzie Birdsworth was a fantastic character. :joker:

Finished S3 of Unforgotten
That was a terrifying season, first time ever I was able to pinpoint exactly who did it straight off, he was such a sinister character. The actress who plays Cassie is so good as well, she made me want to cry just watching her have her bit of a break down

Yeah I guess, so chilling though that people like him exist in real life. You could see how much pleasure he was getting from upsetting Cassie too with the details, that was probably why he wanted to tell where the bodies were, to relive that crime

Fallout TV series on Prime. There are admittedly a LOT of "easter eggs" from the games but you don't need prior knowledge of the games to enjoy it - it's also just a well-made and unique take on the post-nuclear apocalypse. Good characters, great acting, and lots of fun.
The "prologue" scene (when the bombs actually drop) is also actually quite genuinely chilling, especially with all the WW3 drama going on :umm2:.

I've finished it too, and I agree with everything that you've said in this post.
It imo felt like watching a proper TV Show from back in the golden age of TV, rather than this Movie structure over 8 episodes, and most of the content that's actually interesting being saved for the last two to three episodes of the Season.
I think I enjoyed every episode of Fallout, which I don't think I have been able to say that about 95% of modern American Shows.

watching Big Sky on Disney+
very enjoyable police crime drama
John Carroll Lynch especially what a fab role from him (Twisty the Clown actor in AHS Freak Show for those who might not know him)
Kylie Bunbury is one sexy private investigator tbh (loved her on Under the Dome too)
Brian Geraghty Ronald Pergman didn't know him too well but he is a great talented actor too
also the sheriff Tubb actor Patrick Gallagher, i know him as the coroner in the series Siren, he seems nice too
didn't know i would like this series but i do, it has a ''modern western vibe but not too much, also a bit of that same feel as you have with Criminal Minds or CSI at least i do have that vibe as well with this''

I've started watching a Reality TV Show called The Trust.
The concept is a bit tricky to explain (and I am atrocious at explaining things) so it's best to just check it out for yourself, and see what you think.
For me personally, I like the idea of the Show, and some of the neurotic behaviour from some of the contestants, and no offense when I say this, but most of the batshit stuff is coming from the women.
But there are three issues that I have had with the first two episodes.
1. It's too political for it's own good, to the point where I swear that they're feeding contestants lines, just to shove in some cult speak dialogue.
2. There is a likability issue with the contestants, I honestly don't like any of them as Human Beings.
Don't get me wrong they're not evil people per say, but I just don't really like them either.
And 3. I do think that there is some staged moments in the Show, that feel blatant to me, but then I thought that Ellie was obviously rigged for to win Strictly last year, but some people couldn't see that blatant fixing either, so maybe it's just that I'm noticing it more because I have seen all of the tricks that Reality TV Shows have done in the past, because I watch so much of it? Because maybe the scripting element of The Trust is less noticeable to more casual Reality TV audiences?
And btw I don't mean casual as a dig, all types of fans are welcome in my eyes.

hOOn7Wb8sNw
beautifully made series, also receives lots of praise apparently from the critics as well as the jewish community
omg  also horrible how Poland got invaded from both sides in WW2, it was choosing between the lesser of 2 evils basically for the polish jewish people and i understand it that they'd feel safer with the sovjets than with the nazi's
proper acting work too  Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson title character in the similar titled films) Joey King (who had decent roles in action films like White House Down, Independence Day: Resurgence, Battle: Los Angeles but also starred in The Conjuring)
as well as many israeli actors and actresses in this
probably every wednesday new episode releases on Disney, it's still airing on Hulu either in the US so

I've watched the first 5 episodes of Season 2 of Physical 100.
Tbh it's nearly as good as the first Season imo, the only real thing that's separating them for me, is that the Second Season has brought a contestant back from Season 1, and I despise returnee twists from a previous Season on any Reality TV Show.
But other than that it's been a fantastic Season.

Plus, in S1 the guy they called "Iron Man" valiantly attempting to hip thrust a massive wooden ship up a ramp, is one of the most unintentionally funny things I've seen this year. He was putting so much into that crotch grind .

We've just got around to the Rick and Michonne series - I'm enjoying it, it has a very different feel to anything before it in TWD, more "World War Z" (being focused on the CRM) than the more rural/survival focused main series. I suppose it had a bit of it with The Commonwealth but not on the scale of the CRM.
One criticism I have though is that - for unknown reasons - some of the acting (from minor characters) is slightly ropey . Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira are great of course. And Terry O'Quinn is always good. I mean the character essentially is "if Locke from Lost was a military leader" but he plays that character very well .

I've also watched Dead City (Maggie and Negan) and was less convinced, and I think it's because... Is Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) OK health wise? He's looking a bit frail or something and while he still plays the character well, it's just hard to buy him as a tough character/fighter which clearly he's meant to be. Like with the Daryl season you buy it because - if anything - over the years Norman Reedus has gone from quite skinny to being quite solidly built. So you can buy into it when he's kicking in heads left and right. But Negan looks like he'd fall over in a strong wind these days so I find myself thinking, he'd just not realistically last long out there :umm2:.

I don't like the 2 of them together and I don't get why the writers are always pushing that narrative.
The Daryl spin off was by far the best. Him as a character and the total change of scenery helped.
The Rick/Michonne one is OK, the lovey dovey bit is a bit.....forced and unnecessary I think though and Ricks accent is terrible and very distracting

Yeah what happened to Rick's accent?? :joker:. I struggled with it more at first. Though to be fair you can rationalise it as... he's been with the CRM for nearly a decade at this point, so his accent is quite likely to have changed a bit from the heavier accent he had before.
As for the lovey doviness... :joker:... my only real criticism is how unrealistic it was that they were randomly stopping to kiss in the midst of fighting for their lives. Like literally snogging as a building was falling down around them.
And also...
There was a scene with a certain camera angle... from Michonne's perspective... with Rick above her looking down like :hee:... and we were lay in bed watching it on the laptop and I can only describe the effect as being shagged by Rick Grimes in VR. I properly guffawed and said to my wife, "I feel like he's on top of me D:"
[edit] I had to go and find it.... :joker:...

I'm watching The Devil's Plan.
The first couple of games have been brutal, but really fun though.
I've done about 7 episodes of The Devil's Plan, and the one positive that I really want to give out here is that it's nice to see a Netflix Show with a decent episode count, we need more 12 episodes and above Seasons again.
I'll spoiler most of my review though for anyone that might consider watching it that haven't watched it yet, all I'm going to say is that the game has developed a huge problem as the Season has developed, and imo it needs to be addressed in Season 2.
Okay, I just want to say that I am rooting for one of See-Won or Seok-Jin to win, the isolation that them two, Dong-Jae, and the white guy (I can't remember his name, sorry lol) have received because they were given special roles in the first task is beyond ridiculous imo, especially with how sanctimonious the other side can be.
I in particular think that from a viewing perspective, Orbit's strategy of keeping the **** players in the game and ganging up on the good players to eliminate them is harming the actual premise of the Show being "Battle Of The Brains."
In my view the production are encouraging Orbit's strategy of ganging up on the smart players to eliminate them, and prolonging Yeon-Woo's stay in the competition when she's just not very good at the game, and it's the same with the K-Pop Idol guy.
Like Seok-Jin did say in one of the episodes that I watched last night, "the most skilled players at the competition should be progressing forward" and he was absolutely right with making that statement.
And on a personal level, I really dislike the girl that eliminated Dong-Jae and the girl that she was meant to be aligned with, if she'd had've owned her move then fair play, but fake crying like a little schoolgirl when she did the most treacherous move of the Season is just not my type of person.
We need to be seeing more individual skill being tested in the comps, not a Big Brother styled social gang up against the minority alliance type of Show.

Tbf it was bad in Season 1 of the original Show.
He'll probably pick it back up again with more Seasons I think.
…Bodkin spoiler…
…I’ve just finished episode 4 with Seamus going to the morgue to see Fiona and Mallachy and saying that it’s not Fiona…the bit when he stapled the ‘interest’ to Frank was pretty brutal…I love that contrast of the light moments and then darkness of the series and the characters are a mixture of that light and shade as well…

Mine too, I think Season 2 is my all time favourite Season of any show
Apart from Season 8 which was awful, I hated how they ended it so I was really glad they made New Blood years later. I felt that really ended it properly. Also I really didn't like the story line of Deb thinking she was in love with Dexter, I HATED that. It ruined Debs character for me and hers and Dexter's relationship

Also I really didn't like the story line of Deb thinking she was in love with Dexter, I HATED that. It ruined Debs character for me and hers and Dexter's relationship
One of the biggest issues with that Deb storyline is that it damaged their relationship retroactively as well... as you're supposed to believe she secretly always had feelings for him all along. WHich also makes it bad writing because this was never foreshadowed or hinted at all if you rewatch. It is VERY obvious that it wasn't pre-planned ... it was just written in at the end ... which makes their previous interactions play out inauthentically. I'm all for a good twist but the point of a good twist is that if you go back and watch again, you should be able to see the hints scattered throughout. With of course the absolute best twists being ones where NO ONE guessed but it was hiding in plain sight.
This one... no one guessed the twist because it was never thought of as a twist until the last minute... so their interactions are all clearly 100% brother/sister, and she clearly looks at him like a brother and that's it, and so the twist is gross and incesty.

Yep to all of that, exactly my feelings on it. It was a cheap, shock tactic and I can't stand when shows do stuff like that
And this is my first full re-watch of Dexter and you're right, it absolutely damages their relationship retroactively. I am paying full attention to all their interactions and it's so brother/sisterly, I have such a bad taste in my mouth for what's to come. My son is watching it for the first time atm and I'm just waiting till he gets to that part for his reaction to it

Didn't Dexter have a showrunner change after Season 4 I wanna say? That never helps a Show's quality, because the new Showrunner will inevitably in any Show start adding things that are possibly Show destroying.
I think that the original Showrunner would never have put a Dexter and Debs ship on the table.

What does a showrunner do :
The showrunner guides the creative vision of the series. While they aren't always the initial creators of the show, they take over all aspects of the creative elements, developing the vision of the whole series, the direction of the story and character arcs through each season, etc. They hire writers.

That 90's Show, started watching that this week
Kurtwood Smith is literal the GOAT of Sitcoms as ''Red Foreman'' :flutter: very underrated actor too i have to say
Debra Jo as ''Kitty'' she oozes such sophisticated oldschool excellence, almost like a ''Lucille Ball'' sort of vibe
Callie Haverda as their granddaughter (Eric & Donna's daughter) Leia, also promising new talent, think we will see a lot more from her in years to come
all in all comedy wise, still same good quality as with That 70's Show, really proof of ''if something ain't broke, don't change it''

I've been watching a couple of Seasons of the Dutch version of The Mole (Wie Is De Mol in Dutch, which Nicky will be able to clarify.)
I've watched Season 11 which was a brilliant Season imo, I was so adamant on Art being The Mole, but Patrick was my second choice. I think that every contestant brought something to the table in this Season.
My rankings for the contestants in Season 11:
1.Anna
2. Art
3. Patrick
4. Horace
5. Jan
6. Pepijn
7. Soundos
8. Karin
9. Miryanna
10. Hannah
As I've said, I actually liked all of the contestants in this season, so there's no malice towards any of the ones that I placed low.
I'm still currently watching Season 18 (at the top 5 to be exact) I did find the Season to be a bit slow for the first couple of episodes, but I'm now really getting into it, in particular The Mole appears to be really hard to detect.
My main theory on who The Mole is I think Simone, but I am also unsure on Jan.
I'll do my overall rankings for Season 18 once I've finished the Season.
Oh and I'm also currently watching Netflix's second Season of The Mole, I'm one of only a handful of people that think that The Mole is Deanna, I seriously hope that it isn't Ryan for the obvious reason of how under-edited she has been.

Ooh
i have had many correct in our version btw
yes they are on youtube with english subtitles :)
fun fact Art became a host after having done the show, however currently it is hosted by Rik van de Westelaken, also after he done the show, Rik also hosts our eurovision preshow anyway in same tv studio as where he hosts The Mole final, our esc preshow is similar to a preshow for olympics or world cup or euro championships

Under the Bridge

…yeah, I had seen that there was a miniseries, it’s such a devastating and distressing true story…I don’t have Disney atm but the cast is outstanding…I can’t say it’ll be a good watch, but…you know… it’s a story that deserves to be told…

Interesting facts.
And well done on getting so many Moles correct.
Here's my rankings of Season 18's contestants:
1. Ruben
2. Jan
3. Simone
4. Loes
5. Olcay
6. Stine
7. Emilio
8. Bella
9. Ron
10. Jean-Marc
I didn't really dislike anyone again really in this line-up, although I do feel like Jean-Marc should've let Ron back in the game if he was in such a bad head space with the Show.

Under The Bridge episode 1
proper storytelling, some names of characters have been edited though rather than some their real names
also Riley Keough with dark hair looks good too on her
Matt Craven playing Lily Gladstone's character her father and captain of the police (Craven whom is known for his role on NCIS as Clayton Jarvis and been in many films)

but tbh if that is indeed true that Reena stole a phonebook and started spreading fake news/lies about one of the girls, having aids or being untrustworthy
i kinda understand why they wanted revenge, but this doesn't justify murdering her (normal teen girls would prank someone as a form of revenge, TP'ing someone's home etc, but in this case these girls grew up without a father, in troubled families, they were all very mentally unstable)

I have finished watching the second Season of the American version of The Mole on Netflix.
Thank God it weren't Ryan as The Mole like so many people were predicting.
I thought that Deanna was going to be The Mole until she obviously got eliminated.:joker:
My rankings for this season's contestants:
1. Q
2. Michael
3. Sean
4. Muna
5. Neesh
6. Deanna
7. Hannah - She weren't always the most pleasant contestant lol, but she offered some good TV in fairness, and her Showmance with Tony was good villainy early on to the rest of the group.
8. Melissa
9. Tony
10. Jennifer
11. Andy
12. Ryan - No offense to Ryan, but the edit didn't really do much with her, so it was hard to form a proper opinion of her.
Some slight niggles with the editing, but overall I would say that Netflix made a marked improvement over their first year imo, and I really did like most of the contestants taking part.
There wasn't really a truly monstrous contestant in the line-up imo, although Tony could sometimes be a dick, I still that he was harmless overall.

episode 3 (Under The Bridge)
those flashback scenes  all Reena wanted was just to make some friends and some of those girls really were soooo mean to her, especially Jo in real life = Nicole Cook & Kelly, the only one who was genuine friendly to her was Dusty in real life = Missy
the chemistry between Riley Keough/Lily Gladstone is simply phenomenal as well
Hulu is really on slayage mode recently with superb productions :D
also killing a girl for her steve madden boots :umm2: :umm2: that's low, the actress who plays Kelly such a strong new acting talent she is

I've watched half of the Season of Shogun.
Overall I'm liking the Show, but to the people comparing the Show quality wise to GOT seriously need to rewatch the first 5 episodes of GOT Season 1 (for a fair comparison,) and GOT is in a completely different league imo.
Shogun tbf I think does most things really well, but there are a few issues that I have with the Show.
1. John Blackthorne is essentially just a token in the programme after the first couple of episodes, once all of the basic setup is established his only real function left in the Show is to just be Mariko's love interest, and demographically tick the white representation box.
2. Episode 5 had some OTT scenes between Blackthorne and Mariko's Husband (who btw has some really cartoonish writing imo,) which for the kind of programme that Shogun is meant to be, it makes the Show look extra daft compared to say... An ABC Channel Show doing this kind of content back in the day.
And 3. I have mentioned this to do with Assassin's Creed: Shadows and I will say it here because Shogun is ironically proving my point for me, but forcing non-Japanese characters into Feudal Japan stories on a bigger scale than what really happened does cause problems in the writing, plus it's the fact that the West always finds a way of taking Japanese works or time periods in general and just goes out of their way to un-Japanese the work.
Tbf to Shogun they're not the worst example of it that I've ever seen, but they are still quite guilty of it imo.
The stuff that I do like about Shogun is the Politics, some of the characters, some of the locations are striking, and some of the dialogue has actual grit to it, which tbh I had lost faith in the Americans on even knowing what gritty dialogue even was anymore, so it's nice to see that Shogun rightfully has that kind of dialogue.
Oh and I had checked the pilot out to Evil, it was okay, but didn't hook me with anything to make me want to carry on watching it.

I would say though that Season 1 is the weakest Season in my view, I think that MTV got better with the formula as it went along.

Unfortunately MTV made a few early amateurish mistakes that were hard to rectify with some of the audiences that they lost along the way.

Adore that show. So endelessly quotable. And George and Kramer are getting into hijinks while waiting at the airport to pick them up.

Always thought it was strange that Britain preferred Friends to Seinfeld, given how we make such a big deal over us supposedly preferring darker, more cynical humour. And Seinfeld is unarguably a darker, more cynical show than Friends could ever be. My theory has always been that a large part of the appeal of Friends, that almost always goes unsaid, is that people liked to live vicariously through the romantic exploits of this group of physically attractive young people who are living in and around a beautfiful studio apartment in New York. That's my half-assed cope of an explanation. Seinfeld is way more grubby and realistic.

I'm not British but that's not the reason I like/dislike these shows, for me it's about the characters and if I can warm to them at all and I just never could with the Seinfeld lot. Father Ted was my personal favourite of the 90's shows
Yes I can see that from your user title. ;) My favourite joke from that show is:
Mrs Doyle: I think you'll enjoy what we're having for dinner, Father. You do like pheasant, don't you?
Ted: Pheasant! God, I love pheasant!
Mrs Doyle: Well that's a little clue. The thing you'll be eating likes pheasant as well!

…with Friends, I think…(…for me, anyway…)…and why it was a series that travelled across the oceans and reached so many countries and so many different people of different ages etc…?…is because in our own friendship groups…?….there was a character to relate to, obviously not in an identical way but I know Phoebes and I know Monica’s and I know Rachel’s and Joeys etc…so we’re always drawn to relatable characters of our own lives, also…

My favourites are usually Dougal lines, the spider baby conversation and him answering a visiting Bishop about whether he ever has doubts about the religion are my favourites
Yeah that's also undoubtedly true of the show's resonance. I also liked Friends at the time btw, don't get me wrong lol. I guess I just prefer having a laugh over relating to the characters. But having said that, Seinfeld is also indicative of what a lot of people are like below the surface imo, even if they don't like to admit it. You ever watch Seinfeld, Ammi?
…I’m another one who never really caught on the Seinfeld thing but I will give it another look sometime as I know how hugely popular it’s always been so I think that it was probably a ‘it’s me/not you, Seinfeld…thing….
…it’s funny how we connect with certain things…series/movies etc at certain times in our lives as well, I always think though…there are times when we might watch the exact same thing but just not have the same connection because our headspace, as it were…can vary so much also, with life events…
Seinfeld detractors are philistines

…I’ll have to check 3% out, Ben…it’s not one that I’ve heard of before but the synopsis sounds interesting…

won't be long now until OMITB new season arrives on Disney+
i'm excited for this new one, it seems the threesome are going to Los Angeles
really happy they managed to sign Melissa McCarthy too tbh, a fab addition to this detective comedy drama series, A-Lister comedy star what she is kinda, am surprised she found the time to do this show, despite also being currently very busy with new comedy films each year recently, same with Meryl Streep renewing her contract for another season, also very surprising

It’s so good. It’s on Netflix.
Premise is when people who live inland (place of slums) turn 20 they’re allowed to try to get a place on the offshore (a land of luxury) by completing various tests but only 3% can get a place, and you can only attempt when 20 years old. It’s Brazilian so in Portuguese or you can put English dub on (I prefer sub titles though).

…I’ve just watched the season 1 first episode…it’s a good concept so it’s just getting to know the characters, really…I’ll try to watch episode 2 in a bit…

…I’m watching dubbed because that’s how it came on my TV so I did t change it……the dubbing isn’t great though, so maybe I will switch to subtitles…
…yeah Joana is pretty cool……I’m on episode 4 next so I’ll catch up some more tomorrow…I love the games/tasks, whatever they’re named to become one of the 3%…it feels a little bit like game show meets drama…?…which I like, it might become a bit of an addiction series……
Season 4 of Slow Horses is coming this month Ammi

…ooooo, a fine looking cast as well with Hugo Weaving from the Matrix…I love Autumn TV, it’s generally a time when they spoil us a bit more to try to draw us closer to TV screens for the winter….that’ll be top of my watch list….thank you, bots……

The Devil’s Plan. I’m loving this South Korean game show. It’s refreshing to see a game show which has just smart people.
Benjamin
…I will get back to watching 3%, Ben…my mindset just isn’t very focused atm for any series but I was liking the few episodes I watched so I’ll pick it up again…funnily when I started to watch, Mr Ammi said…oooo, this is a good series, it’s one that he’d watched before but I hadn’t…(…we tend to both watch some stuff together but also have separate watch lists as well…)…anyway, he said that he was happy to watch it again as he does like a re-watch also…

We have a couple of weeks free Amazon Prime so I started watching Kevin can ****** himself last night, I wanted to watch this for a while because I love Annie Murphy.
The way it shot is so odd but I love it. Have you watched it Benjamin ?

I've never seen anything filmed the way they film this, it makes it so sinister

Do and let me know what you think, I could imagine people would either love or hate how they've done it

I've been watching The Influencer on Netflix.
It's been a fun Show, but my god most of the girls just want to be borderline Pornstars on the Show.:joker:
One of the guys definitely deserve to win imo.
