Ahhh you just made me remember where I knew a certain actor from Love Life from, it was Locke & Key, I'm on season 3 as well about half way through I think. Did you know that the actress who plays Kinsey is Aled Jones daughter?

Wow is she , she acts very well ~ found her totally believable and her singing at the wedding is very good as well.

Actually been enjoying the new American Horror Stories. I don't know if it's available in the UK yet. First season was atrocious, but this season is much better, and the latest episode was the weirdest thing because it started a few towns away from me and even people in America don't usually know that where I live exists.

Tbh if you're struggling with Season 1 then I don't fancy your chances with Season 2 because it basically copies Season 1's style with a 60''s theme behind it.

I have yet to watch Season 3 so I can't comment on it's quality.

She Hulk

very very enjoyable

some hilarious moments
such as Madisynn basically spoiling most of Sopranos to Wong :joker:
or Jen failing to find a date as herself but getting tons of matches as she hulk, only awkward thing is some see her as a ''ultimate specimen'' and next morning once she changed back to her normal self, the date left finding her too boring suddenly
and also one moment when Jen's former colleague at the DA, Dennis suddenly wanting to hire her from superhuman law when he got scammed by some asgardian light elf posing as megan thee stallion

Mob Psycho 100.

I'm only 4 episodes in, but so far I really like Reigen & Dimple, Mob is okay as well if not a bit predictable sometimes.

Mystic Mock

I've finished Mob Psycho 100, which I ended being really happy with the second Season in particular, it ended up really winning me over with just how fun it was to watch.

I'm also watching The Suspect which to me just seems to get worse with every episode, Bobby Moran is the only character that I'm personally interested in.

And then I'm watching the first Season of Bikini Warriors, which tbh it's a 12 episode Season that are 4 minutes long where they parody everything in the Otaku culture.

Being honest it obviously is playing on wish fulfillment for male audiences if you couldn't already gather it from the title, but being fair to the Show it actually can be genuinely funny, and the characters are likable imo.

Judging it on it's own terms and not expecting it to be GOT or AOT, it's a really enjoyable Show imo, plus the women don't look bad either.:hehe:

But being serious though, I personally like the Show, especially Fighter, Paladin, Dark Elf & Hunter (although she's only been in one episode so far) the only scene I thought went too far imo was the Dog & Fighter scene, I personally just wasn't comfortable with it, but I get that other people might feel differently.

Tron: Uprising - I've watched 10 episodes so far, and I've got to say that it's a really good Show imo.

Especially if you like good villains and strong worldbuilding, and of course Futuristic Sci-Fi.

Zed & Mara are probably my least favourite characters in the Show, but even they're tolerable for me versus other characters from other Shows that fit a similar mold to both of them.

Blue Lock - 3 episodes in and it's been fun so far, it's not gonna be for everyone, and like most modern fiction the pacing is slow, but as I'm a huge fan of Football/Soccer I can let it slide for my own personal taste.

Akiba Maid War - A surprise hit for me, I honestly was expecting to hate the Show, but so far I think that it's been quite funny.

In particular there are a couple of characters that I really like on the Show which I never expected.

Obviously this isn't even trying to be an epic masterpiece, so people should try to judge it on it's own terms, which is essentially a Comedy series on Maids who get put in dangerous (but absurd) situations.

I personally have enjoyed it so far anyway.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury - Okay I'm a fan of some of the other Gundam Shows, but I'm not a die hard fan that's watched every single one of them, so my opinion probably isn't as well thought out on this Show compared to the die hards.

For me I respect Sunrise for trying to address an issue that has plagued every Gundam that I've watched, and that's trying to write the female characters better, the Show's two leads are women, and I can see the Show is trying to give both of them more prominence and depth in TWFM, for me it's a bit clunky in the way that it's handled, but I can respect the effort.

Now we go to my biggest issue with this particular Gundam Show, and that's where's the cutthroat Politics? The strategies that would be implemented to try and beat the enemy nation? And strong world building? This is bread & butter stuff to all of the other Gundam Shows that I've ever watched.

It would've been nice to have kept the Action as well, but tbf Gundam has always toyed with the level of Action, so I can accept this Show being less action heavy, it just needs the political struggles to appear in the Show properly, and not a blink and you'll miss it scene an episode.

Potential is there for a great Show, Sunrise just needs to finesse it a bit.

Chainsaw Man - I honestly didn't want to be that guy that ****s on the popular Show, I normally try to avoid doing that childish **** as much as possible.

But my honest opinion of the first 3 episodes of Chainsaw Man is that it's incredibly poor in quality.

The character writing is dreadful, especially for Denji's character who's whole purpose is wanting to touch women's boobs, and this would be fine if he was just a comedic side character, but this is the main protagonist we're talking about here.

The main plot is non-existent, and I don't mean it's a slow burn or that this Show is a heavy Drama over plot type of Show, it just genuinely doesn't have a plot, or a plot that's worth noting anyway.

And for me TV Shows and Movies (animated or not) should live and die on their characters & plotting, I do get that genre preferences will kick in for everybody, but in this case it's clearly obvious that Chainsaw Man has failed at both ends of the spectrum, especially when I look at the first three episodes of My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Fairy Tail & Bleach.

All of them are in the same genre as Chainsaw Man, but they all at the very least got one thing going for them in the first 3 episodes, some even got both the characters and the plot moving along.

Momentum in the story should always be there, it shouldn't feel like a style over substance programme like Chainsaw Man feels like to me.

Rant over.

I'll be checking House Of The Dragon & The Rings Of Power out later, I'll give my feedback on my early impressions of them once I'm done watching them both.

Okay I honestly don't hate the new Gundam Show like some people do in the Anime community.

But 6 episodes in and the plot doesn't feel like it's growing much, I suppose episode 6 pushed itself a bit more, but it's not saying much.

By now in other Gundam's the plot would've started picking up some momentum.

It's certainly not an offensive Show imo, but it does need to utilize the Gundam universe better.

Along with my three weekly Anime Shows I'm now watching two other Shows.

FBI - This tbh was more pushed on me by family members to watch it, and after already despising International for some reason they thought that I was gonna like this Show more.

In fairness I will say that it's improved from the first two episodes, however my biggest issue with the franchise in general is how flat the characters are written, they just feel like they're still in the creative process rather than fully developed characters.

But for me the lack of any character in FBI just puts me off as it currently stands.

Ingress The Animation - This Anime I honestly knew absolutely nothing about until I saw it pop up on Netflix, 5 episodes in and I'm impressed, the characters are likable and interesting, and while it's not the most original plot in the world that they're going for, they do actually execute their themes and tropes well imo.

Just binged S3 of Motherland - so funny. Best series yet.I've just started watching this. I'm half way through the second series. I'm about to watch a few more episodes.

It's nothing outstanding, but it's OK for a mainly female cast in a comedy show. Although Kevin is probably the funniest character.

It hasn't really made me laugh too much or too hard but it is watchable so it does have some qualities.

I know it's co written by Graham Linehan, who wrote the likes of Father Ted, Black Books and IT Crowd.

Only Murders In The Building - First two episodes and I don't like it. It has some amusing moments littered with boring melodrama, and terrible pacing. Honestly the Streamers need to make better Shows considering they are the future of TV Shows.

Junji Ito Maniac: I've nearly finished the Season, basically think The Twilight Zone in the sense of different cast and storylines every episode, but as a Horror Anime instead. I like it, it's not my favourite Anime ever made, but it definitely has it's charms, in particular the Balloon episode, Tomie & the Hair episode were standouts imo. Hopefully the last two episodes will be really good as well.

Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc - I've only done the 47 minute first episode so far, but I did like it, tbh I'm not as huge a fan of Demon Slayer compared to my family members, but I did enjoy it. In particular the Muzan stuff towards the beginning of the episode I thought was interesting, and there is the Hashira guy who likes being flashy that might be fun to watch.

I've only got two episodes left of Reacher and I have got to say that this might be the best Show that America has thrown out in years.

An actual plot
Characters with an actual personality
Strong acting performances
Melodrama dialled down in favour of Action
And decent pacing

That's not to say that the Show doesn't have it's flaws, like episode 5 in particular has a couple of forced scenes imo.

But overall it's been a very good Show, and seeing Lana Lang from Smallville in the Show is nostalgic.

Mystic Mock

I've completed (at least up to this point) an Anime called Drifters which for anyone interested has a 12 episode first Season, two OVA's classed as the second Season, and another OVA called The Outlandish Knight.

Now the series isn't officially concluded or cancelled as far as I'm aware.

However though the Show was a lot of fun imo, it reminded of Animes that I've enjoyed in the past all in one package which is Saga Of Tanya The Evil in the way the episodes are structured, Berserk in terms of the Dark Fantasy looking world and violence, and the humour of Gintama.

It's a bizarre blend, but one that I personally really took to.

My favourite character was Oda Nobunaga, but tbh they were all really good in their own way.

Oh and I've watched the first two episodes of Luther, and so far I am very mixed on the Show.

I really like Idris Elba's performance as Luther, and the Actress that's playing the serial killer, the cat & mouse game between them I think has the potential to be fantastic for the Show.

However I really don't like the Soap Opera-esque dynamic between Luther and his Wife, those scenes are painful to watch imo, it's like watching an episode of EastEnders, only at least EastEnders is meant to be a Soap Opera.

And the investigative team that supports Luther I'm on the fence with so far as they've not been properly developed yet.

Basically for me I hope that the Show embraces a more thrill ride type of style over another bastardised version of The Bill, or just another run of the mill CBS styled Crime Procedural.

Well I'm one episode away from finishing Season 1 and tbh I'm still very conflicted on my feelings towards the Show.

I really like Alice as a character, imo all of her scenes have been the most interesting and fun to watch, I feel like the Show has also been smart on not overplaying her as well, they're doing great stuff there so far.

Luther by and large is also a good character and Idris Elba is doing a strong acting performance, it's interesting having a lead in a Cop Show with a more jaded personality.

However my issues with Luther.

1. Luther's ex-Wife and her boyfriend bring a lot of Soap Opera tendencies to the Show, they're not the only Soapy element in the Show imo, because that case in episode 4 has some elements of that **** in there, and to me it throws me off because on the other hand they're trying to be a more gritty Crime series but then the Show will add EastEnders-esque scenes which honestly confuses me on what this Show is even trying to go for.

2. What is the UK TV's obsession with everyone having to shout to express emotion? I thought that the Japanese can overdo it sometimes, but **** me Luther as a Show will just force shouting scenes in just for ****s and giggles.

3. I honestly don't like how the rest of Luther's team hardly get developed, it's like the Show just sees them as stock characters and can't be bothered to give them material.

4. The one supporting character in Ian is headed in an interesting direction going into the Season 1 finale, however to coincide with my issue from earlier, he needed to be focused on more than he was before this big plot point happened to make it have even more impact, it's a clever idea and I did still find it entertaining what he did I'm not going to lie, but a lack of character development prior to this move just feels sudden and not very well thought out imo.

I'll definitely give Season 2 a shot (as long as the Season 1 finale isn't chronic) but I want the supporting cast to actually be developed (I'm not watching FBI: International here) and preferably that the Soap Opera elements are largely eradicated in Season 2 onwards.

The 14th Season of NCIS: LA has been a decent return to form after a few ropey seasons imo.

Roundtree has improved a bit this season, and Fatima imo is still the best of the newbies despite some "off" scenes sometimes, but overall she's doing okay.

And I personally feel like it's good to see the tone of the Show being more OTT silly again, it's never meant to have been a serious Drama piece like the last three Seasons before this one had been, this goofy and OTT Action Crime Procedural is definitely the more correct approach for this Show imo because of how it was in the earlier seasons.

Plus thank god that Densi doesn't have the baby drama anymore.

started with Doogie Kamealoha last night

this is a good fun, lighter doctor series, bit of The Good Doctor vibe, from creators of Doogie Howser M.D

also Jason Scott Lee (icon who once played Bruce Lee) is in this as the main character's dad

yes it is a good series definitely, Peyton Elizabeth Lee (lead actress Doogie) very strong new acting talent for sure, and her chemistry with Jason Scott Lee (her character's dad in the series) really amazing

also lovely seeing daily show's Ronny Chieng as Dr Lee, very funny scenes with him too

Alex Aiono :flutter: as Walter, i knew him more from music covers on youtube but he is a decent actor too :D

I've finally finished Season 2.

It's just not my type of Show tbh, I'll try to see it through because I've dropped a lot of Live Action Shows recently, but I really don't like the fact after two Seasons most of the cast have the personality of a Goldfish.

Imo Alice is the star character of the Show with her dynamic with Luther, but due to the nature of her character I do understand that she can't be in the Show regularly, and this is why it's really urgent for this Show to have someone else that's well written in the cast to help Luther carry the Show.

But instead we get Soap Opera characters and severely underwritten characters in the dark haired Copper's case who I don't even know the name of because he is so underwritten.

Tbf the underwritten issue is the biggest problem with Luther, because at least some people will get a kick out of the Soap Opera segments, who in their right mind wants characters to have zero character development like half of this cast gets? And I'm being generous saying half.

The Show is failing at rule 101 of a TV Show, make most of your characters interesting to watch, not just one or two of them.

To update my opinion on Luther after watching Season 3's finale.

I personally found the season to be more entertaining than Season 2, but my god this season had some severe inconsistencies with it's character writing.

First off to start off positive, well done to the Show for finally using Justin it's just a shame that they killed him off as they were starting to actually develop him.

Oh and another positive for the season is I did like the first case, especially when he is stalking the two girls from the closet, it reminded me of an iconic Slasher Movie.

Now moving on to the negatives for me.

1. The prostitute girl from Season 2 just vanished with no explanation as to what happened to her, this happened with the original boss in Season 2, but I just put it down to the Show having early teething problems and didn't think much of it, but when it happens again it does have to be called out as lazy writing.

2. Luther & Mary's relationship drama was uniquely terrible, the main issue I had with it was how they'd only met each other for a few days and they were already madly in love with each other.

3. It missed Alice not being in it much.

4. The second case really bothered me, it starts off interesting imo with this vigilante that's lost his Wife and basically has become jaded with our justice system and has therefore taken the law into his own hands. Then in the next episode he for no reason starts kidnapping pregnant women, and trying to kill innocent civilians, basically within two episodes we're getting two totally different personalities being portrayed in the one character, it's rewriting the character's personality with no real buildup to make it believable imo.

5. The entire Erin Gray storyline with Brendan Rodgers was a waste of everyone's time imo as it ends up not really going anywhere, and again Erin's personality from Season 2 did not carry over into Season 3, it's like her and the Vigilante guy have split personalities but the writers forgot to inform us about it.

Overall though at least it gave me more of a talking point than Season 2, even if it was really badly written.

Imo I feel like Seasons 2 & 3 have been used as stop gap seasons until they can draft Alice back into the story properly again.

I'm on the last ever episode of Luther tomorrow, it's been quite the journey with this Show.

Season 4 was only two episodes so nothing interesting really happens in the Season.

Season 5 I would say might be Luther's best made Season imo, I don't really love the Season, but it's definitely better polished in the writing department compared to Seasons 2, 3 & 4 imo. And it's far less like watching an episode of EastEnders which is a massive improvement for a Crime Drama that's trying to be gritty and playing around with psychological themes.

I would also say that it's nice to have Alice back full time again, and the cast being better utilized than usual for Luther, and DS Catherine Halliday is the type of character that Luther has needed for a long time imo.

The flaws in the Season imo (because it is Luther after all) there can't be a Season that goes by where it hasn't done something stupid, but here it goes.

1. Killing Benny off in the same episode that he was rescued was a bit pointless even rescuing him in the first place imo, at least space the abduction and his actual death apart from each other a little bit.

2. The Show actually trying to make Luther and Alice's ship cannon, I'm never really comfortable with protagonist & psychopath shipping that certain Shows like to pull off, it's just dumb writing.

Overall I'll rank favourite Luther Season's in this order.

1. Season 5
2. Season 1
3. Season 3
4. Season 4
5. Season 2 - I have a lot of issues with this particular Season.

Overall I'd say that Luther is an alright Show, but I definitely think that there are better Crime Shows out there, especially if you escape how stiff the UK Shows can be and go for a US Cop Show.

And yes for once I have complimented American TV.:joker:

My issues with the Show was that I think that I only laughed I think twice in the Season, which for a Show that has Comedy as one of it's genre tags that is an issue for me.

And I felt that the Whodunnit aspect is very, very basic imo, even kids Shows like Fillmore used to do better at developing their cases.

And then ultimately I didn't really like the characters.

Fair enough that you like it though, obviously differing opinions is always a good thing in the TV industry.

I've watched the first three episodes of Ted Lasso.

So far I am going to give it a pass as I do like the basic aspects of the Show, and can even accept the cheesy optimism of Lasso himself given that it's intentionally meant to come off that way, plus in an age where TV likes to be miserable it is a nice change of pace.

I do have my issues though.

1. The Show does suffer from being slightly woke (I know that the word is overused) but it can get on it's soap box in the odd scene here or there, two scenes that really spring to mind as blatant pandering to a "woke crowd" if you will was the opening scene in the pilot doing a Parody of Trump with the Manager that got sacked which is just boring at this point. We get it Trump is a dick, I doubt that many people would disagree with that statement, but the Hollywood scene is nearly as obsessed with him as his die hard supporters which is bizarre given that Hollywood hates him. Oh and the scene with Sam I think his name is, where he says to Lasso that he basically doesn't want one of those Army Men Action Figures because of "Imperialism" that's just forcing political dialogue into what should be a more fun, chill and harmless scene overall. Oh and there was a third incident where they had to have a Schoolgirl (around secondary School) beat one of the Schoolboys at Football. Now look if this stuff was happening more spaced out throughout the Show's three Season run I probably wouldn't think twice about it, but I would be lying if three separate incidents of a typically "woke" leaning is happening all within the first three episodes, it could just be a coincidence, but I doubt it as modern Hollywood does love to be Politically extreme in some form or another.

2. Is my usual pet peeve of a Love Triangle forming in the Show between Jamie, Roy & Keeley possibly forming as I hate that ****, especially if it's going to get a lot of focus.

3. The Show does overuse the word "wanker" imo.

As I've said I do like aspects of the Show.

1. Seeing a Slice Of Life take on Football is an interesting idea that I would like to see done maybe for other Sports in Live Action.

2. Ted Lasso is a likable character that can be funny most of the time imo.

3. I do like Nate as a character, his awkwardness does make me laugh.

4. Coach Beard and Lasso's dynamic with each other along with Rebecca and Higgins dynamic with each other are strong for the Show imo.

So overall I do like the Show, it's just modern writing standards is probably going to test me a little bit.

the leads aren't as perfect as Arnie & Jamie Lee in the film obviously, but they're decent castings

in terms of other castings

Gib here is played by Omar Miller (Walter Simmons in CSI Miami, voice of Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

Trilby (in the film Charlton Heston, and here a version played by Beverly D'Angelo, best known for Ellen Griswold in the Vacation films, damn Bev has changed a lot, she channels a bit of a Linda Hamilton vibe here)

I still like aspects of the Anime, but I don't like the Alien creature that they've drafted into the Show, she's slowing the pacing down of the actual plot, and imo a lot of the content surrounding her is filler, especially in the last two episodes that I've watched (which were 5 & 6) but tbf to the Alien character I do believe that the writer doesn't quite know where to take the story at the moment, especially when the Kunato stuff is clearly being saved for the finale.

I'm watching two Shows at the moment as I gave up on Knights Of Sidonia Season 2.

The Night Agent - I've watched the first two episodes so far, and it's okay.

It isn't blowing it out of the water for me so far, but it's watchable.

Kingdom - Not to be confused with the Japanese Anime Kingdom or the American Kingdom, or the Argentine Kingdom.

This particular Kingdom is a Korean Historical Political Fantasy series that is very much GOT meets TWD, and imo some of both Shows best aspects are very much in play in Kingdom in the first two episodes.

You've got GOT Political strife for the throne aspect, whilst the Zombies are running rampant as the B-plot.

I haven't watched the third episode yet, but I am very much excited to see where this Show goes next.

1. Kingdom - Imo a borderline masterpiece.

2. Beyond Evil - A very good Show, Lee Dong Sik & Han Ju Won are very good leads imo. It's very twist heavy though as a warning to anyone that doesn't like that type of writing.

And I'm on a hiatus with The Night Agent at the moment, I'm undecided on if I should finish that off or not.

And Niamh I agree with you about From, I haven't watched Silo tbf so I can't judge that Show either way.

I've watched 13 episodes of The Guest, and yes I'm going through a Korean Show binge lol.

I'd say with The Guest that it can appear to be a bit slow for the first half hour of episode 1, but once you get past that period it just gets better and better, if you're into Horror/exorcisms anyway.

I'd say that even the first half hour of episode 1 ages well once you start to understand it's importance to the story more deeply.

It's a 16 episode Season so it's not too long.

The ending was also sad imo, and not really the type of character you'd expect to be sad for either, which is a sign of a very strong writer in my view.

I've got to say though I'm having a blast with the Korean Shows at the moment, they're in general in a much better state than UK & US TV, and there I say it but they might be on better form than Japanese Anime as well.

It definitely feels like Korean TV is in it's own golden age.

Meet the Richardsons has just kept getting better. Jon's wife Lucy Beaumont is very funny, she writes it. And I'm not being biased towards her just because she's from Hull, she genuinely is the star of the show for me. She's very Hull and I mean very Hull. Her mam is also in the show and she is funny too.

I recommend this show for anyone who hasn't seen it.Just finished watching series 4 of Meet the Richardsons.

It's the best British TV show I've seen in the past 5 years.

It's very good, I highly recommend it. I think most of you on the forum will like it very much.

Don't listen to Niamh and watch this rubbish. Watch "Meet the Richardsons" instead. You'll have a much better time.

I only watched the first part of the pilot of Yellowstone, and it wasn't for me personally, but tbf I don't like that type of Show so it's probably a personal preference thing on my end rather than a genuine quality issue.

On my end I've been watching Season 2 of From, I'm six episodes into the Season and I'd say that it's definitely weaker than Season 1 imo as it suffers with padding (especially episodes 3-5) it's not bad by any means (especially compared to certain Shows that I've seen in recent years) but it does need a bit of direction in the plot department like Season 1 had.

I also think that the blonde girl who was on the Bus has been a poor character this Season, they've only given her one dynamic which makes her feel disconnected to most of the other characters in the programme.

And my god episode 5 really was dreadful in an iconic way.:joker:

Tbf though episodes 1 & 2 were really good imo, and Boyd Stevens as usual has been a really strong character for the Show, and the theme tune is fantastic, so there's definitely things to still really enjoy about the Show, but it's just a bit more uneven in quality imo.

great enjoyable MCU series

great acting work especially by Olivia Colman, you really can see why she's an oscar winning actress   deffo has potential for more big films i think

lovely smaller roles from Christopher McDonald too

good acting work by Emilia Clarke, it is weird though seeing her with darker hair again, while we're used to her with white-blonde as Daenerys :fan:

I've finished Sonic X a few days ago, absolutely fantastic watch I had a great time with it.

Season 3 in particular was a very ambitious Season for the Show, I'll 100% give them credit on that.

I've started watching the Remake of Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy on Netflix, I'm six episodes into part 1 and I've got to say that it's growing on me.

It's style is very strange, it has bits of Berserk meets a bit of Drifters meets it's own vibe that's hard to explain, but in it's own weird way works quite well once you get used to it imo.

The only thing I haven't enjoyed from the programme is when the women have to kiss Lucien, I get the plot reasoning behind it, but it just makes me uncomfortable personally.

Other than that though I am enjoying the Show, it's not afraid to be a little out there which is always good to see.

The OP and ED Music are superb imo, especially the song by Coldrain is fantastic to get you into the episode.

Hopefully it'll keep it up for me.:fc:

Oh and I wouldn't watch this Anime with your parents.

It does seem to get better and better which is a plus though

I quite like the three main characters and a few of the others ..

Seems to have taken elements of Carnival Row , Game of Thrones and The Borgias plus the fighting from 300 and meshed them all together

I just thought there were way too many loose ends not covered at the end of season 1. Season 2 ends so much better. And without giving any spoilers, a couple of the characters development is handled very well.

It probably does suffer from a bit mid season "boredom" a little. But i'd recommend it to anyone, however it's not exactly earth shattering.

I also feel, like with the first season, a couple characters become extremely annoying.

Yeah that's right, and she has that baby now, like it's been born. That's how they keep the Judge and the Mob family connected, otherwise it would be kinda silly. I'm on my first watch of it aswell, I have only a couple of episodes left to go, it did take a good while for me to really get into it, maybe 2 seasons

Oh really? What do you think of the show so far. For me it’s up there as one of my favourites of all time I think. It took me about 3-4 episodes to properly get into it.

The thing is … leave it a while and you can watch it again and see all the things you initially missed

:)

The Wire was like this for me. On rewatches I noticed a lot of things I missed when watching it for the first time.

Yh a lot of the characters are unlikeable but I do also think that a fair few of them have their redeeming qualities. Yh I think Carmela and Bobby are great, Bobby is probably one of the only guys that’s actually a decent human being and actually loved and cared for his wife Karen.

I like Christopher but he can be a right asshole towards Adriana a lot of the time. I go on and off with Junior but he has some great one liners ngl

I've finished watching Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy.

I seriously hope that we get a third Season off Netflix, not only is the humour absolutely bonkers, but the story just gets more interesting as it goes along imo.

I feel like Anime needs more stuff like Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy again, I don't mean Fantasy but the mature themes, and Ecchi that actually involves adults rather than borderline children, or they look like children but the Show will claim they're 1000 years old Animes which I personally find creepy.

Btw I'm not saying that I can't like some of those Animes in other areas, but the borderline Paedophilia parts of certain Animes are off putting imo, which is one of the main reasons why I liked Bastard!! So much, because they knew how to make Ecchi wild, without being disturbing with it too often.

My favourite characters were probably Dark Schneider, Gara, Lars, and Yoko.

Unfortunately after 39 episodes I'd say that Ari is not developed as much past a certain point, hopefully that will be fixed if the Anime gets a third Season.

Oh and credit to LidenFilms, definitely the most effort that I've seen them as a Studio put into an Anime, they have done a fantastic job here.

I've watched two Animes over the last couple of weeks, I've been busy so have slowed down how much I've been watching.

Mononoke - Like Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy, it is on Netflix to watch.

Now onto the quality of Mononoke, if you're into extremely strange Supernatural Horror fiction with an Historical bent, then you'll be away with this Anime, my favourite arc in particular was the one where it turns out all of the guys that Kusuriuri was talking to and playing I think it was Shogi with, were dead all along.

It won't be a universal Anime, but I personally really enjoyed it.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Just to be clear I've never played the Game, so I have no bias for or against the Cyberpunk franchise.

It is also on Netflix for anyone that's interested.

Now quality wise I'll start with the pro's of the Anime.

Pros:
Good Music, in particular the OP from Franz Ferdinand, but the Music in general was good, so fair play to them on that.

An interesting looking world, it's well designed, I could imagine that it would make for a good City to explore in the Video Game.

The characters were okay, nothing special, but they weren't abysmal.

Episode 3 was a fun stand alone episode imo.

Cons:
Tbh there was only really real issue that I had with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, but it was big enough to make me drop the Show after 4 episodes because I weren't going to waste my time, and that's the fact that the story was barely existent, there's a 10 episode Season and to me it felt like the first two episodes were mostly filler with one major event happening in the pilot, but the rest of the episode was filler, episode 2 was filler for the most part away from the introduction of the leading lady (which admittedly stops it from being complete filler) but nothing else really happens away from that.

Episode 3 was a good stand alone episode tbf with a fun team effort to infiltrate the bad guys type of stuff.

And episode 4 tbf was better than episodes 1 & 2, but I'm not really much of a shipper, so it wasn't really for me.

Tbf to the Anime I have watched much worse in Anime and Live Action, but it was like watching a 5/10 Anime for me, and life is too short to be watching such average content in my view.

Play the game mock :omgno: Whilst not essential I think it helps somewhat with appreciating the show more just because you already have an attachment and understanding of the world it's set in. Although it's kind of crazy that a big part of the games second lease of life came from this anime, between that and CD Projekt Red actually fixing the bugs and not just abandoning it like most game developers would these days.

Oh I will play the Game eventually.

It's fitting it in between other stuff that I'm doing, but I will definitely get around to it.

And you have a fair point, I mean I didn't hate the Anime anyway, I just didn't have a strong reason to finish the season.

Oh and I'm watching Season 1 of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

I would say it's a really good Anime, imo not as good as the first Season of Psycho-Pass out of the Futuristic Sci-Fi Animes, but I am still really enjoying the Show.

I think that my two favourite characters are the Major and Batou.
