If Newcastle can win at home tomorrow, then it looks like a draw will likely be good enough at home to Bournemouth for Everton next week to survive.

They saved the season !!
A very young , inexperienced squad who should only get better .

I'll be surprised if Arsenal come top 4 next year the way they crumbled this season under pressure
Well done to a wonderful City team

Hope you stay up for Dyche's sake
neither leeds nor leicester have performed all season. They are going down
Which relegation hit team has the most desirable players ?
Leicester have at least 2 obvious ones
Leeds have some very interesting youngsters
Everton have Coady and Dwight O’Neil

Be interesting to see where JWP and DCL go, if they do go
Leicester do have a good team - Maddo, Barnes, Pereira, Iheanacho all good players
Maddo will go Newcastle I expect

Dixie Dean didn't play in the premier league
Dixie Dean didn't play in the premier leagueNeither did Lionel Messi.
There has been lots of social media talk this season comparing Erling Haaland with Dixie Desn.
This guy made a half hour video on the subject.
It's a good half hours veiwing. It's not just about Haaland and Dean but about how football has evolved.

I still don’t understand why everything BEFORE the Premier League has been discounted .. they played the same game with the same rules

it's not comparing like with like, its a simple as that. Different number of games, different level of competition
it's not comparing like with like, its a simple as that. Different number of games, different level of competitionNumber of games has nothing to do with it. Dixie's goal ratio beats any player that's ever played in England's top league.
Level of competition?
In those days, any team could win the league, now, less than a handful can. Far more competitive back then.
Also, defenders could kick the living sh1t out of strikers and get away with it. Now defenders get sent off for making a clean tackle. Far more sending offs these days, which means more space on the field. Not to mention the perfect bowling greens they play on now compared to the mud baths they did then.
Different ball, different number of games, different pitches. They say explicitly in the premier league era, I don't know why that is so difficult to understand

Different tactics also.
Teams used to play a 2-3-5 formation.
https://www.footballhistory.org/images/formation_235_numbers.png
It's where the standard numbering system, and names for positions comes from.
https://www.footballhistory.org/formations.html
Essentially it’s still same game .. wasn’t there was a crossover when the same players played with the same teams under the same rules moving from the old way to premier league over the summer ..
It’s not like comparing cricket with 20/20 cricket

Different offside rules, and don't under estimate the affect a different ball has. A leather ball coming at you full pelt cant be saved by a goal keepers finger tips for example

Still the same players started the brand new Prem League season playing with the team they’d played in the old First Division..
I bet most players didn’t even notice any difference…
As regards the different balls …
By those rules we have to separate the years they played with the old leather balls that used to absorb water and were like lead balloons when you headed them

I was wondering about that .. surely with all that natural talent Chelsea have - its the law of averages that they put in a good performance or score a couple of amazing goals soon ??
There’s also the fact that the United players ( wether they admit or not ) will have the prospect of them playing in the FA Cup final … against their arch enemies.. to shatter their dreams of the treble ..
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
i've said it a few times, and i will say it again, the fa cup is not important to united, getting a champions league place is.
Chelsea have had the quality to perform all season, and they haven't yet.
Having said that, united have been poor since they beat barcelona, so no match is a certain win for them

That’s your opinion of course .. I have mine and so does Gary Neville .
:::
Gary Neville is hoping his former Man Utd side can stop Man City from winning all three trophies, and says the city rivals will be disappointed if they do not complete the treble.
"It's all huge for Man City from now until the end of the season", Neville said.
"They will be disappointed if they don't win the treble because they will feel they are favourites in every single game, they are in great form, and everyone is buzzing.

Buyako Saka has signed a new deal to stay at Arsenal until 2027, saying the club "is the right place to make the next step".
The England forward has scored 14 goals for the Gunners this season, contributing 11 assists.
Just 21 years old, he has already made 178 appearances for the club and has featured in all Arsenal's Premier League games over the past two campaigns.
"I'm just really happy," said Saka.

there isn't the intense rivalry between clubs that there used to be. Their main concern is their own performance, not anyone elses. If people haven't caught up and realised that yet, well, look again is all i can say
Utd are at home against the worst Chelsea team in about 25 years, and against an ok Fulham side. They need ONE point from those 2 games. I just don't see them losing top 4 now.

Chelsea can suddenly burst into life and give someone a beating !!
Then at the weekend Fulham are capable of anything given their gameplay and having Mitrovic back and scoring
I’m still confident that Brighton will win .. they are going for the best euro option possible ..

I wish i could be as optimistic as you are about Chelsea Zizu, but they have nothing to play for now. Last truly decent game was against Dortmund.
end of season games are notoriously hard to call. What will be, will be
What I do know is that neither Man U or Liverpool will do particularly well in the champions league next season, they are just not up to scratch and can't perform consistently over the course of a season

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is thought to be helping the Red Devils to try and strike a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for superstar forward Neymar this summer.
The former Barcelona man is giving serious thought to the idea of leaving the French capital this summer, six years after his stunning £189million switch from the Camp Nou. Neymar's PSG contract does not actually expire until 2027, but with Kylian Mbappe now the star of the show at the Parc des Princes, the French giants are unlikely to stand in the 31-year-old's way should he wish to leave.
---------------------------
i think this can only be possible if Qatar are taking over the club
I would like to see Neymar in the PL, just to expose him for the massively overrated player he is, and always has been.

Jose Mourinho has claimed Tottenham are the only club he has managed, with which he does not have a connection.
The Roma boss was sacked by Tottenham in April 2021 after only 17 months.
Before taking charge of Spurs, the 60-year-old Portuguese had managed Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
"I hope the Tottenham fans don't get me wrong but the only club in my career where I don't have still a deep feeling for is Tottenham," Mourinho said.
"Probably because the stadium was empty, Covid time. Probably because Mr Levy [Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy] didn't let me win a final and win a trophy."
