A lifelong Hammers fan, the club said he passed away "peacefully" on Wednesday morning with his fiancee and daughters by his side.

Gold, previously the chairman and co-owner of Birmingham City, became joint-chairman at West Ham with David Sullivan in 2010.

"I am extremely sad to hear this news," said manager David Moyes.

I honestly don't know what's going wrong. Players and manager just not on the same wavelength maybe?! I mean, he did great at Brighton, but they've not exactly faltered since he left.

The players look uninterested really. It's a terrible combo. Should of stuck with Tuchel i know that much. I like Potter, but it's not gelling with him.

I recall Newcastle flying away with the league at this time of the year about 12 points clear and splashing out massively on Faustino Asprilla who was 3rd best player in the world at the time ..

I’d be more confident about Arsenal if they didn’t have to play City TWICE and ManU in the coming weeks

I was loving the idea of Mudryk to Arsenal but after more thought I don’t see where he would fit in .. or who would make way for him . They are flying now and that’s without Jesus and with Smith-Rowe and Viera not able to get a starting position
