MadonnaTribe has just heard and can report an exciting and thrilling World Exclusive News.
"Celebrate", the lead single from Madonna's upcoming Greatest Hits package "Celebration" is set to hit radio waves around the world on July 28th!
Following the exciting world exclusive news we reported yesterday here, MadonnaTribe has heard more details about the upcoming Madonna single and greatest hits album.
As all our readers know by now, "Celebrate" is set to hit radio waves around the world on July 28th, but those who attended the Sticky & Sweet Tour already managed to hear a glimpse of the lead single from the new Madonna collection titled "Celebration".
"Celebrate" can indeed be heard in the show during the "Holiday" number. As reported here first, bits of both the new single and Madonna's oldie "Everybody" are sampled in the song, although fans should not be confused by the vocals introducing the song (Celebration, Celebration) which are those from Holiday and only a hint to "Celebrate" which doesn't feature vocals borrowed from Madonna's 1983 megahit but it's a completely new, kick ass uptempo anthem in pure Madonna style.
Speaking of new songs, "Revolver" is now the only second new track to be part of the Greatest Hits package, while "Broken", the other track produced by Paul Oakenfold won't be released.
Last but not least, Madonna fans will be happy to know that "Celebration", the hits collection, is a double album!

Yes it is. It's not her fault, it was a big technical problem. The stage of the stadium is now broken.

Further details on stage collapse in Marseille
More details are emerging about the collapse of the stage during construction for the Marseille concert - this report is from BBC News:
A stage being constructed for a concert by pop star Madonna in France has collapsed, killing one person and injuring six, police say.
Technicians were setting up the stage at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille when the accident occurred at around 1715 (1515 GMT).
The concert, planned for Sunday, 19 July, has now been cancelled, officials announced.
The cause of the accident was not clear.
The frame 'started shaking and collapsing', said Marseille city councillor Maurice Di Nocera.
'Fortunately, it didn't collapse too quickly, as there would have been quite a few victims,' he said, according to AFP news agency.
Two of the injuries were serious, Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said.

Second person dies in stage collapse
A second person has died following the collapse of a stage being constructed for a Madonna concert in France.
Charles Prow, a 23-year-old from Headingley in Leeds, died overnight at a hospital in Marseilles.
Technicians had been setting up the stage at the city's Velodrome stadium when the partially-built roof fell in on Thursday, bringing down a crane.
Madonna said she was 'devastated' by the news. Her concert, planned for Sunday, has been cancelled.
Charles Criscenzo, a 53-year-old French worker, was killed outright in the accident, which took place at around 1715 (1615 BST).
Eight other people were seriously hurt, including an American who was hospitalised in a life-threatening condition.
More than 30 people suffered minor injuries and shock, according to authorities.
The 60,000-seater Velodrome is France's second-biggest sports arena and home to the Olympique de Marseille football club.
Fire-fighters said the accident occurred when the roof of the stage became unbalanced as it was being lifted by four cranes, toppling one of them.
About 50 people from a range of nationalities were working to set up the structure, city sports official Richard Miron said.
The roof 'started shaking and collapsing' gradually, said Marseilles city councillor Maurice Di Nocera. 'Since it did not collapse right away that allowed several people to get out,' he said.
Madonna, who is performing on her Sticky and Sweet tour, was in Udine, Italy, when she was told of the incident.
'I am devastated to have just received this tragic news,' she said in a statement released by Live Nation, the organisers of the concert.
'My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families, along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news.'
Mr Prow's family have contacted the BBC, saying he was 'a much-loved son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend'.
'Charles was a happy-go-lucky guy with a big personality and he will be deeply missed,' said a representative.

Tearful Madonna pays tribute
A tearful Madonna took time during her show in Udine last night to pay tribute to the two people who died yesterday in the stage collapse in Marseille:
'I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and pay tribute to two people who lost their lives today,' she told fans at the Fruili Stadium in Udine.
'It's a great tragedy to me. I feel so devastated to be in any way associated with anyone's suffering.'
'Let's all just take a moment to say a prayer for Charles Criscenzo and Charlie Prow. Our hearts go out to their family and loved ones.'

Madonna stage collapse police launch manslaughter
inquiryOfficers examining 60 tonnes of collapsed girders and cables hope to interview more than 50 witnesses
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2009/7/18/1247928614430/The-collapsed-stage-that--001.jpg
Police in Marseille have launched a manslaughter investigation into the collapse of a stage roof this week that killed two people during preparations for a Madonna concert.
Detectives hope to interview more than 50 witnesses to the accident, in which two technicians – a 23-year-old Briton and a 53-year-old Frenchmen – died and up to 30 others were injured.
Doctors at Marseille's main hospital were unable to save Charles Prow, from Headingley, Leeds, medical sources said. One other casualty remained in intensive care.
Police are conducting a detailed examination of the 60 tonnes of collapsed girders and cables that is all that remains of the "giant Meccano" stage set that was being prepared at the south French city's 60,000-seat Vélodrome stadium, which is home to Olympique Marseille.
Video footage being studied by investigators apparently shows the roof "oscillating" before part of it collapsed on to a crane, which then fell on the main stage. The roof, which was two-thirds complete, "started shaking and collapsing" gradually, a Marseille city councillor, Maurice Di Nocera, told French radio.
The concert was cancelled and Madonna, who was performing in Udine, Italy, when she heard the news, issued a statement saying she was "devastated". The concert was part of a second European leg of Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour aimed, the star's website said, at "hitting the cities she didn't get a chance to in 2008".
Madonna concluded the South American leg of her world tour in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in December. Even before this summer's European dates, Sticky and Sweet had become the biggest-selling tour by a solo artist – taking £193m worldwide by the end of last year, according to the music trade publication Pollstar.
The tour has sparked controversy in Poland because its Warsaw stage is on 15 August, the Catholic holiday celebrating the heavenly assumption of the Virgin Mary. Poland's ombudsman, Janusz Kochanowski, has asked city officials to explain why Madonna would be allowed to perform on a date "bound to provoke and offend".

Exclusive Reports: Latest report from the location of Madonna's new video
Last wednesday M-Tribe reported first about the shooting at the Metropol club in Milano and today our long time community member Lombo1983 reports for Tribe from the location of the Celebrate video at Metropol:
"Last night I was at the Metropol, every fan came up with a madonna look. The fashion stylist there was looking at the fans' various outfits, looks and memorabilia and in case they were not what they wanted they helped with extra clothes and stuff they had ready there.
They used a total of 25 fans and among the look that were chosed there were Like a virgin, Cowgirl, Gheisha, Hung up, 1987 look, DWT look and more. Reportedly director Jonas Akerlund stood there on the set for the all time and apparently Madonna tried on several wigs. Madonna did some rehearsals for the video on friday but her bits were filmed yesterday. They apparently filmed for 8 hours just the same part of the song over and over and they never played the full song. These footage will be edited with the parts filmed last week at the Gold restaurant and the fans.
The fans taking part to the video first danced to the new dancey song all together, then they were filmed separately while dancing on his/her own in front a white screen.
The final editing will probably happen in New York and security there revealed that Milan was the location chosen since the start since Dolce & Gabbana offered their Metropol space reportedly for free."
Thanks to Lombo1983 for his report

Madonna To Work On Top Secret Project
Madonna is planning to work with artist Marilyn Minter on a new project.
The Queen of Pop is a fan of the controversial artist's work and displays one of her photos (a pair of pink lips) on the stage set-up for her current Sticky + Sweet tour.
Now Minter has revealed Madonna has approached her for a collaboration, to which she has agreed - but Marilyn isn't sure what the singer has in mind.
Minter told the New York Daily News: "She wants to come by my studio, so I guess I will find out then. Maybe she wants me to photograph her, or to work on a video."

Madonna 'grieved with stage hand's family'
http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/08/18/160x120_rex_762929al.jpg
The father of a man who died when a stage collapsed during construction of a Madonna concert has revealed that the singer cried with his family.
British technician Charles Prow, 23, was killed after a partially-built roof subsided at the Velodrome Stadium in Marseilles last Thursday, causing a supporting crane to topple over.
Speaking to The Mirror, dad Chris Prow said: "Madonna just said to [his mother Faith], 'I'm so sorry for your loss'. She gave her flowers and a spiritual health book. Madonna said how much she had been affected by the accident, and got very emotional."
He went on to say that Faith had met the singer at a hotel after receiving a letter saying that Madonna wanted to see her in person. Chris added that the family did not hold the star responsible for their son's death.
One other man was killed in the incident, while eight other people were seriously injured. Prosecutors in France have since opened a manslaughter investigation into the accident.

Madonna's raunchy phone messages and faxes to be auctioned.
Intimate items from the Material Girl's past, including love letters and an 'amateur video', are reportedly up for auction.
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2009/3/17/1237285831307/Madonnas-Blonde-Ambition--001.jpg
Madonna's naughty sweet nothings are allegedly up for auction. "Erotic phone messages", "intimate amateur video" and lovey-dovey faxes by the singer are among the titillating items for sale in the New York-based Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction, according to the Toronto Star.
The sexy-talk starts at $3,000 (£1,800) for 21 letters reportedly faxed by Madonna to boyfriend James Albright between 1992 and 1994. The faxes were sent from hotels across the world, including Tokyo's Hotel Okura and London's Regency Club. Albright is reportedly referred to with names like "Caesar" and "Booty Man", whereas Madonna herself prefers "Lil Booty" or the pseudonym "Lola Montez". Montez was a famous courtesan of Ludwig I of Bavaria.
The letters from Albright to Madonna, handwritten on the back of one fax, paint a picture of a loving relationship.
According to the auction house, they met at the Limelight nightclub and Albright later became her bodyguard. However, it's not clear who the seller of the intimate items is and how they obtained the material.
The auction also includes "a very personal and intimate amateur video", featuring Madonna and some of the cast from the 1993 film Dangerous Game (also known as Snake Eyes). The 15-minute VHS tape features the provocative typed title: "1 SNAKE EYES WIFE SWAP FOOTAGE." The film starred Madonna, Harvey Keitel, James Russo and Nancy Ferrara. Bidding begins at $10,000 (£6,000).
But the most archaic of all the auction items – more than the faxes and the videotape – are a pair of microcassettes allegedly from Albright's answerphone. With a minimum bid of $25,000 (£15,000) – or $1,470 per minute – the messages had better justify the starting price. The auction doesn't even include a machine for playing them.

Madonna enjoys a spot of culture in Spain - and Jesus and Lourdes comes too
Taking time out from writhing on stage in fishnets, Madonna drank in the culture of Spain today.
Joined by her toy-boy lover Jesus Luz and her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes, the trio took in the sights at Madrid’s Royal Palace and Prado Museum.
It looked like a welcome break for the singer, who performed at the city’s Vicente Calderon stadium two days ago.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/07/25/article-1202131-05D71656000005DC-416_224x340.jpghttp://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/07/25/article-1202131-05D71876000005DC-448_224x340.jpg
The singer wore a beige loose-fitting top and trousers and a tweed hat with her hair scraped back from her face.
A keen art collector herself, Madonna seemed to especially enjoy her tour of the Prado Museum, which features one of the world’s finest collections of European art dating from the 12th century to the 19th century.
The day trip marks a welcome break for the 50-year-old mother of four, who was devastated after a stage collapse claimed the lives of two technicians in France.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/07/25/article-1202131-05D71800000005DC-932_468x299.jpg
On hearing of the deaths, Madonna cancelled her forecast show in Marseille and instead spent the day meeting survivors and comforting the widow of one of the men who was killed.
British technician Charles Prow, 23, from Leeds, lost his life along with Frenchman Charles Criscenzo, 53, who were killed when a giant roof fell on top of them from 50ft.
Madonna said to fans in Italy, where she learned of the tragedy: 'Let's all just take a moment to say a prayer for Charles Criscenzo and Charlie Prow.
'Our hearts go out to their family and loved ones.'
The world Sticky & Sweet Tour is due to finish in September in Israel.

Madonna ‘To Turn Jesus Into Pop Star’
http://cdn.showbizspy.com/static/jtm-0435032.jpg
Madonna is planning to turn her former toyboy Jesus Luz into a pop star.
The Queen of Pop — who dumped Jesus to work on her Sticky And Sweet world tour — has reportedly promised the Brazilian model she’ll help him release a single.
“Madonna’s energy inspires many people,” Luz told UK tabloid the News of The World. “I want to make music which can be danced to.”
“They may not be lovers anymore but Madge has promised to help him because they are still very good friends,” a source added.
“She really wants him to succeed.”
It was recently claimed that Madonna, 50, had bribed her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes not to smoke.
“Madonna was horrified when Lourdes admitted it — and she offered her a huge cash incentive to stay away from cigarettes,” a source told a British magazine.

Dresscode and song request for Madonna concert in Russia
http://www.sofiaecho.com/shimg/zx500y290_762816.jpg
An organisation called St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Communists had demanded that Madonna dress "decently" and possibly sing a few revolutionary songs during her August 2 concert in the city, Russian news aggregator lenta.ru said, as quoted by Bulgarian daily Dnevnik.
"In the city where the great socialist October revolution of 1917 was the beginning of a new era for the entire world, you should not be dressed lightly or with passionate dances attract lesbians," a letter from the organisation was quoted as saying.
"We ask you, Madonna, please include in your repertoire for the concert at the Palace Square some revolutionary song, in honour of those who stormed the Winter Palace," the letter said.
The communist organisation said Смело товарищи в ногу (With Courage Comrades We March Forward), The Internationale or Вы жертвою пали в борьбе роковой (You Fell a Victim in Ill-fated Struggle) would be most appropriate, although it said the Marseillaise would do as well.
No reaction from Madonna or her staff had been received yet, Dnevnik said.
Recently, Mikhail Piotrovskiy, director of the Hermitage museum in the city, had also expressed his concern about the concert, fearing that the gig would have an adverse effect on the paintings in the museum, Dnevnik said. Additionally, a scene in the show where Madonna was crucified was considered blasphemous.

Madonna’s Makeup Artist’s Secret Weapon: Diamond Dust
In the ’80s she had a hit singing 'Material Girl,' and now the singer’s making good on the nickname with a beauty routine that takes luxe to fierce new levels.
For her Sticky & Sweet 2009 tour, Madonna’s long-time makeup artist, Shu Uemura Artistic Director Gina Brooke, is giving Madonna a true high-wattage sparkle by dusting her eyelids with a mixture of white shadow and flawless, crushed rose-cut diamonds - and accenting the look with another two carats of small diamond pieces affixed to her brow bones, all inspired by the singer’s hit 'Ray of Light.'
And while diamond dust might seem over-the-top - even for Madonna - the effect is worth it, explains Gina. 'The resulting brightness and glow from Madonna’s eyes captivate the audience and reinforces the fact that there are always new possibilities with makeup - and no rules,' she says.
Even if you don’t have a few spare carats of diamonds lying around, you can still recreate Madonna’s tour look using slightly less precious commodities, Gina says. Using Kolinsky brush in #15, apply Pressed Eye Shadow ME White 906, blending softly from lash line to brow bone. Using a liner brush, apply Painting Liner in M Black from corner to corner of lash line, sweeping up at the edge. Next, apply a thick false lashes, like Farfallina Lash. Balance the look with a neutral lip using Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in 945 Beige.

Singer Madonna’s publicist has slammed recent “muscly” pictures of the Queen of Pop, insisting the photographs appear to be digitally edited. The ‘Material Girl’ hitmaker was said to have sparked health fears after she was snapped in an unflattering light that showed veins running along her sinewy muscular arms.
But a spokesperson for the superstar said the snaps were far from the real picture, saying the star "does not look like that in real life." "Madonna’s arms in the most recent photos have absolutely been altered by Photoshop or some other means,” Contactmusic quoted the rep as telling GossipCop.com.
Madonna’s personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, also slammed the photos, insisting the musician was perfectly healthy. She added, "She's strong, healthy, and gorgeous. She looks like she's 18."

Madonna: 'I found an answer'
Madonna writes about her journey into world of Kabbalah for Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth today:
There is an old cliché: When the student is ready the teacher appears.
I had traveled the world many times over, performed in soccer stadiums, appeared in films, dined with state leaders, collaborated with great artists and achieved what most people would view as a high level of success but I still felt something was missing in my life.
I was pregnant with my daughter, almost 14 years ago and I had just finished the film Evita and realized I had spent my whole life worrying but myself, and that I would soon be responsible for someone else's life.
I was raised a catholic and my father was very religious but none of my questions ever really got answered when it came to trying to understand why people suffered in the world or what the meaning of life was all about.
And suddenly I thought, 'What will I teach my child about the important things in life?'
I was practicing Yoga for years and studying Sanskrit. I had read many books by the great Yogi Masters and Indian Avatars. I studied Buddhism and the teachings of the Dali Lama. I studied Taoism and the Art of War.
I read about the Gnostics and the early Christians. I learned a lot and I was very inspired but I still could not connect the dots and find a way to take this knowledge and apply it to my daily life.
I was looking for an answer.
I went to a dinner party in L.A.
A woman sitting next to me was telling me about a class she was taking from a Rabbi.
She said it was so inspiring and that I should come along. I asked her what it was about.
She said 'Life.'
I asked her what it was called.
She said 'Kabbalah.'
I told her I wasn't Jewish and she said: 'What difference does it make what it's called and what religious upbringing you have had if you are inspired?'
She had a point.
So I went to the class and sat in the back and I listened to a man named Eitan teach the class.
I heard what he had to say and I knew at this moment my life would never be the same.

Cowell wants Madonna for X Factor
Simon Cowell is reportedly hoping to sign Madonna up for The X Factor.
The acerbic TV judge wants the Queen of Pop to be one of the guest mentors on the reality singing competition, and has apparently asked show bosses to organise it, reports OK!
"Simon is the most powerful man in TV these days and he's in a position to call the shots - ITV are happy to back him, and he's determined to repay their faith by getting the biggest names in the world, including Madonna," a source said.
Madonna - who is currently touring and plans to release a greatest hits compilation at the end of August - would follow in the footsteps of Beyonce, Take That, Britney Spears and Westlife if she did appear on the show.

Madonna attacked by Polish Catholics for feast day Sticky and Sweet concert
Madonna has been attacked by Roman Catholics in Poland for a decision to stage her Sticky and Sweet concert on an important feast day.
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01453/madonna3_1453704a.jpg
Religious leaders have said that the decision to hold the concert, at an old Warsaw airfield, on August 15 is "blasphemous" since it coincides with the Feast of the Assumption, the day Roman Catholics believe that the Virgin Mary was taken to Heaven.
August 15 is also the Armed Forces Day, a combination of a religious and patriotic festival, since the Virgin Mary is believed to have defended Poland first from invading Swedes in 1655 and then against the Soviet Army's cavalry in 1920.
In August, Poland, which is generally considered to be the centre of European Catholicism, is awash with pilgrims.
But this year, the faithful are flocking to the centre of Warsaw to pray for God to prevent Madonna's concert, and open-air masses are being planned to mobilise support for the campaign against her.
They are also considering whether to take legal action against the organisers of the concert.
The Polis Solidarity founder Lech Walesa, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for establishing the first free trade union movement in the communist world, is among those preaching against the Material Girl.
“It’s a Satanic provocation,” Mr Walesa told The Times.
“I am a man of faith and ask for such events not to happen on such an important feast in my religion."
Father Stanislaw Malkowski, one of the protest leaders, said the concert was "a profanity and blasphemous".
“This is an attack by the devil on our immaculate Catholic nation, “said Father Malkowski.
It is not the first time the Material Girl has caused controversy in the Catholic world.
The video for her song, Like a Prayer, featured burning crosses and a kiss with a Christlike figure, while her Confessions tour three years ago saw the star crucified herself while wearing a crown of thorns.
At least one Cardinal has called for her to be excommunicated and German prosecutors considered, but later dismissed, charging her with deliberately offending religious communities.

Funeral for Madonna stage worker
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/46078000/jpg/_46078450_madonna_170709_still.jpg
The funeral will take place later of a technician from Leeds who was killed while setting up the stage for a Madonna concert in France.
Charles Prow, 23, from Headingley, died from injuries he suffered when part of the stage roof collapsed at a stadium in Marseille on 16 July.
The funeral service will take place at Lawnswood Crematorium.
Mr Prow's family, who described him as "happy-go-lucky", have asked people to wear bright clothes for the service.
Technicians had been setting up the stage at the city's Stade Velodrome - home of the Olympique de Marseille football team - when the partially-built roof fell, bringing down a crane.
French worker Charles Criscenzo, 53, was killed outright while Mr Prow died later in hospital.
Madonna said she was "devastated" by the news and the concert was cancelled.

Madonna's Slovenian concert cancelled
Pop diva Madonna has cancelled her concert in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana on August 20, the organizer of the Sticky and Sweet tour said on Friday.
'Due to unexpected logistic difficulties, Madonna's concert scheduled for August 20 at the Ljubljana hypodrome has been cancelled,' Live Nation, the tour organizer for Eastern Europe, said in a statement.
It said that concerts in Munich and Budapest, scheduled for August 18 and 22, respectively, would run as planned.
Slovenian media reported earlier this week that the concert would be cancelled due to poor tickets sales.
News website 24ur reported Thursday that only 7,000 tickets out of 63,000 had been sold so far.
Slovenian music lovers often have to go to neighbouring Italy, Austria and Croatia to see their idols as large tours often skip the small country of two million people for fear of poor ticket sales.

More than 100 Jews and Israeli Arabs are calling on Madonna to call off her Tel Aviv concerts, scheduled for September 1 and 2.
The group has formed an organization called Boycott! Support the Palestinian BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) Call from Within, and on Sunday sent a letter to Madonna asking her not to perform at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds.
According to Tel Aviv University Prof. Rachel Giora, a member of the group, the organization is also encouraging Israelis to boycott Madonna’s performance, “to let Israel’s government know how they feel… thereby hoping to encourage the Israeli government to reconsider its policies.”
“A performance here would imply that Israel is behaving in an acceptable manner, and would be interpreted by Israelis as moral support for the illegal and inhumane policies, described by many as war crimes and crimes against humanity,” Giora said in the letter.
The letter refers to Madonna’s study of Kabbala and her understanding of the Jewish concept of tikkun olam, or healing the world. The group suggest that “Israel’s actions don’t reflect this [tikkun olam], as Palestinian dignity and life are being trampled upon.”
Although Madonna is not Jewish, she is known for her affection for Israel and the Jewish people, and her appreciation of Kabbala. It seems unlikely that she will comply with the boycott request.

Madonna and U2 For Michael Jackson Tribute Gig
Vienna in September
Madonna and U2 are two of the superstar names being lined up to perform at a special Michael Jackson tribute gig which will take place at Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna next month (September).
According to RTE, events organisers World Awards Media have billed it as a "'global’ farewell tribute to Michael Jackson next month" and have also said "For one incredible night Michael Jackson's unforgettable music will be brought to life again. Some of the world's leading artists will perform Michael's greatest hits live in Vienna in front of one of the most fascinating historical sites in Europe and celebrate the life of the 'King of Pop'"
Event organisers have yet to confirm the line-up but Associated Press reports U2 will perform alongside Madonna, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston. U2 will be in Europe supporting their 'No Line on the Horizon' album and Madonna has a new greatest hits album called 'Celebration' due out around the same time
85,000 tickets for the show are expected to go on sale on the 20th August.

Madonna and Robbie Williams sign up for X Factor
Madonna and Robbie Williams will make appearances in the new season of The X Factor.
The choreographer for the television talent show has reportedly let slip that the singers will act as mentors to contestants during filming.
Brian Friedman also revealed that Simon Cowell, the founder of the reality TV contest, has hired Whitney Houston and Rihanna, the Umbrella singer.
A source told The Sun that the details had not yet been officially revealed but Mr Friedman, 32, could not resist "blabbing" about the signings.
"Brian is really excited about this year's show because there are some great artists involved. He is proud to be part of it and admires Simon's ability to attract A-listers."
Madonna, Williams, Houston and Rihanna will give personal masterclasses to some of the contestants during the finals of the show, which starts later this month.
Last year mentors included the boyband Westlife, Take That's Gary Barlow and Mark Owen and R'n'B singer Beyoncé.
The revelations show that ITV producers have decided to dig deep into their budget as they compete with other programmes for viewers.
But the programme will no longer have to compete with Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday evenings. The BBC is to abandon its Sunday night results show for an extended Saturday slot to avoid any clash with the X Factor.
Couples will compete, face the public vote and have the dance-off all in a single show as the corporation attempts to make Saturday night ''Strictly night''.
It is understood that part of the reason for the change is the desire to avoid a possible clash with the X Factor results show, which may be shown on Sundays this year.
The new series of Strictly will begin in September with two special Friday night launch shows, but will switch to Saturdays only from then on.

Madonna sings Happy Birthday to Rocco
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR2SXW5GuSU
Madonna surprised her son Rocco as he turned nine years old on Tuesday - by urging the 50,000-strong crowd at her show in Denmark to sing Happy Birthday to him.
The Holiday hitmaker is currently taking her Sticky & Sweet tour around the globe and the star's clan was in the Scandinavian country when her eldest son, by director Guy Ritchie, celebrated his big day.
And during her concert in the capital city of Copenhagen, Madonna halted her set to announce Rocco's ninth birthday to gig-goers - and encouraged the crowd at the Parken Stadium to sing a chorus of Happy Birthday for the delighted youngster.
She shouted out, 'Happy Birthday to my son Rocco, who is watching the show right now and I just want to say that I love you very much. You are a number one son and maybe everyone would like to sing Happy Birthday to him.'

On Hot Dance Airplay, “Celebration”—the first single/title track from Madonna’s upcoming greatest-hits album (due Sept. 29)—starts the party at No. 7, the chart’s highest debut since Dec. 13, 2008, when Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” also debuted at No. 7. Since the Dance Airplay chart launched Aug. 16, 2003, only two other singles have bowed higher: Ciara’s “1, 2 Step” (No. 5 on Jan. 20, 2005) and Madonna’s “4 Minutes” (No. 5 on April 5, 2008) … “Celebration” also enters the Hot Dance Club Songs chart at No. 29—the diva’s 56th Club hit. The entry extends her lead as the artist with the most hits on this chart.

Madonna adoption saga on Fringe
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s233/BGRAYSHON/bloody-serial-killer-shower-curt-18.jpg
A musical about pop star Madonna's attempts to adopt a young African girl is being performed at the Edinburgh Fringe by a Malawian cast.
The 50-year-old star is portrayed in the play Mercy Madonna of Malawi by a black male actor in a blonde wig
One of the performers, Shombi Banda, 29, claims he was heckled by the star when he performed for her in Malawi.
He said she responded to a play about the African cultural identity by saying "money is the answer to everything."
The show looks at how Madonna was given *custody of four-year-old Mercy James.
It also attempts to depict how people in the African country viewed the case.
Madonna first spotted Mercy in an orphanage when she visited the African state in 2006.
After a long-running court battle, the nation's highest court ruled earlier this year that the star could adopt the youngster on a permanent basis.
While Madonna has come in for criticism in the Western press for using her wealth and influence to "buy" children, it has opened up a huge debate in the southern African country, with some feeling the youngster will have a better standard of life overseas.
Shombi Banda said he had performed for Madonna in Lilongwe earlier this year.
He said: "It was a very nice performance with the show talking about someone who went abroad for 20 years and then when he came back he was complaining life abroad was very tough and how he had lost his culture and his identity.
"Madonna interrupted and said: 'You know money is the answer to everything'."
Toby Gough, who created and directed the show, which is playing at St George's West in Edinburgh from 7 to 31 August, claimed Mr Banda was also sacked for revealing a few details about Madonna.
He told BBC Scotland: "Because he revealed a few secrets about Madonna's time in Malawi, just simple things like how many security guards she had, the fact she was heckling him during his performance, he was subsequently sacked because the owner felt he was putting his business in danger."
The play, which is already a hit in its home country, fuses traditional Malawian dance with western pop music as it weighs up the rights and wrongs of a contentious story.
Without taking sides, it asks whether it is right for a child to be taken away from her culture if it means enjoying a life of privilege.
Robert Magasa, dons a blonde wig and white face paint to play Madonna in the show.
The show describes itself as "knockabout" and "irreverent".
Mr Gough said: "Scotland has a great friendship with Malawi and the big story this year was Madonna adopting Mercy, so it's a perfect Festival show.
"It's outrageous, irreverent, it's full of music.
"We rewrite some of Madonna's songs to tell the story of how she ended up in Malawi, the problems she faced being stopped in the process and what Malawian's feel about it.
"It is due to poverty that they are forced to put their children in to orphanages. There are ways for children to be cared for in their own countries, not taken to other cultures."

Madonna turns 51 on concert stop in Poland
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s233/BGRAYSHON/7-18.jpg
Polish fans joined together in song to wish Madonna a happy birthday at a concert in Warsaw Saturday evening – just hours before she turned 51, AP reported.
In a break between two songs, a fan held up a sign wishing her a happy birthday and audience members sang, “may you live a hundred years,” a traditional Polish birthday song.
“I feel your love!” Madonna told the crowd of tens of thousands gathered on a large green field for the latest stop in her Sticky & Sweet tour.
Many of the fans near the stage also held up paper hearts. One said: “Adopt Me.”
Her stop in Warsaw fell not only a day before her birthday, but also on the August 15, the Roman Catholic holiday celebrating the heavenly assumption of the Virgin Mary – timing that angered some Catholics.
Several people who objected to Madonna held up banners outside the concert venue, and a Catholic group tried to spearhead protests in past weeks hoping to force the Material Girl to change the date of the concert. It failed, however, to win support from the official church or the public. Though Poland, homeland of the late John Paul II, is mainly Catholic, young urban Poles have overwhelmingly embraced pop culture and mores.
During the concert, Madonna also paid tribute to Michael Jackson, who died in June.
A Jackson impersonator did the King of Pop’s signature moonwalk dance move while wearing a sequined jacket, white T-shirt, white glove and white socks, while a large photograph of him as a boy appeared on stage.
“Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known,” Madonna shouted, and then segued into a performance of her old hit “Holiday.”

She turned 51 over the weekend, and Madonna enjoyed a romantic birthday in Portofino, Italy with her boytoy Jesus Luz.
The Material Girl was spotted with her Brazilian beau at the Splendido Hotel yesterday (August 16), chatting on the balcony and having a special birthday breakfast while a bouquet of flowers was delivered.
Later on Madge and Jesus joined up with the rest of the entourage to grab some dinner and celebrate some more with birthday cake.
The night before, Madonna played a concert in Warsaw, Poland where she was protested by a Catholic organization for her religious views, as it was also a church holiday celebrating the heavenly assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Madonna enjoys 51st birthday celebrations
Madonna enjoyed her 51st birthday in the Mediterranean with her boyfriend Jesus Luz and her children.
Celebrations began on a Sunday night when the singer hosted a dinner party in the Italian resort of Portofino, where she is staying with her boyfriend, daughter Lourdes and adopted children David Banda and Mercy James.
At the Splendido Hotel, she was joined by about 30 guests, including Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, where she was then presented with a cake, including sparklers on top.
The singer was then seen taking a private boat the following day with her children.
Dressed in a personalised basketball kit, which said "Madonna 1", she was pictured jumping into the sea and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Earlier in the weekend, she celebrated in Warsaw when her Polish fans wished her happy birthday during a concert. They held up signs saying happy birthday and sand May You Live A Hundred Years, a traditional Polish birthday song.
The ex-wife of director Guy Ritchie, she has previously defended her lifestyle saying: "Once you reach a certain age you're not allowed to be adventurous, you're not allowed to be sexual. I mean, is there a rule? Are you supposed to just die? I've never been a conformist."

Paul Oakenfold on Madonna: new material is 'the sound of tomorrow'
British DJ and remixer extraordinaire Paul Oakenfold would like to clear something up: He has never been naked in a recording studio with Madonna. “That was a joke,” he laughs, referring to Madonna’s April 23rd tweet via manager Guy Oseary’s account (@guyoseary): “paul oakenfold is running around the studio naked.. because i wont put the air on.. its hot in here.. but the music is hotter!!!! -M.”
But Oakenfold, who recently released Perfecto: Vegas, a two-disc set celebrating his popular residency at the Palms Casino, from which he recently took a break to join Her Madgesty’s Sticky and Sweet Tour in Europe, is dead serious about getting people on the dance floor with “Celebration.” The song, which he co-wrote with Madonna for her upcoming greatest hits package (in stores Sept. 29), is he says, “meant to be positive in the respect that you can do it, let’s have a good time, let’s enjoy ourselves.”
And while the song, which leaked online in July, has a party-time feel, Oakenfold tells us that he and “M,” as he calls her, were all business during their first in-studio collaboration. “It was very focused, very professional,” he recalls. “When you step up to this level, it’s an interesting process because you’re on someone else’s time, and you respect that. And that’s really what it’s about. So I was extremely organized when I went in there with the team that I had.” And he’s pretty proud of the result: “It’s definitely the sound of tomorrow. Which always becomes the sound of today.”

Is it feeding time at the zoo? No, it's Madonna and Jesus having a romantic dinner
As the reigning queen of pop, Madonna is accustomed to drawing a crowd to her performances.
But it seems she can't escape inquiring fans even away from the stage.
The pop star looked a little taken back as an army of passers-by stopped to peer at her through a restaurant window as she dined with her boyfriend Jesus Luz.
While the couple may have been hoping for an intimate dinner for two at The Chuflay Bar & Restaurant at Splendido Mare in Portofino, Italy, it turned into something of a spectacle as dozens of locals gathered to catch a glimpse of the super star.
The singer has been holidaying at the Italian Riviera resort of Portofino, where she celebrated her 51st birthday this week.
And it seems that the passers by were determined to join in on the celebrations as she wined and dined her Brazilian beau.
Jesus, 22, looked a bit stunned by the attention and Madonna seemed far from impressed by the peering crowd.
One onlooker said: 'Having a mob of people staring at you while you're trying to have dinner wouldn't be my idea of a romantic night out.
'But as soon as people heard she was in the restaurant, more and more of them rushed down to catch a glimpse of her.'
The mother-of-four has been staying in Portofino with Jesus, daughter Lourdes, 12, and adopted children Mercy, four, and David, three.
On Tuesday the family enjoyed a cruise around the chic resort. While Madonna is usually happy to cavort around stage in little more than a leotard, her choice of swimwear was surprisingly demure.
She wore basketball shorts and vest, emblazoned with her name across the front.
But it seems Madonna was just eager to protect her pale skin from the sun, and was later seen hiding under a frilly umbrella.
Earlier this week she kicked of her celebrations with around 30 guests, including Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
They presented her with a huge cake with sparklers on top and a specially-designed lace dress.
The celebrations began on Sunday night when the singer hosted a sumptuous dinner party in the Italian resort of Portofino.
For the party she hired an entire floor of the exclusive Splendido Hotel where suites cost as much as £4,500 a night.
Throughout the meal, Madonna was seen kissing Jesus, whom she met in December last year shortly after splitting from Guy Ritchie.
He seems to have taken on the role of father figure to David, three, and Mercy, four, judging by the way he was carrying and playing with them during the days.

Madonna 'to bring Bucharest to standstill'
Government authorities in Bucharest have ordered widespread transport infrastructure changes for when Madonna brings her 'Sticky & Sweet' tour to the Romanian capital on August 26.
Bucharest City Hall officials have decided to close roads, divert buses on different routes around the city and pedestrianise all streets leading to Izvor park, the venue which the 51-year-old singer is scheduled to perform at.
The concert takes place in the same park where the late Pope John Paull II addressed tens of thousands of supporters in 1999 and is just yards away from the giant palace built by dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, the second largest official building in the world - after the Pentagon.
Madonna is currently on the European leg of her world tour and will arrive in the country from neighbouring Serbia.
The star was brought to tears last week when crowds sang 'Happy Birthday' to her during a live show in Poland.

Preview of Madonna's 'Celebration' Music Video
Madonnas' music video for her new single "Celebration" has got a sneak peek. Being attached to a promo ad of her upcoming greatest hits compilation "Celebration", the clip sees Madonna wearing a black and white mini dress and dancing to the song in high spirit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKHyq-htiLc
Co-produced by Madonna and Paul Oakenfold, "Celebration" has hit the web since July 30 and was sent to radios across United States on August 3. Its music video is filmed in Milan, Italy and directed by Jonas Akerlund. The video is expected to be debuted at the end of August.
As for the album itself, it is scheduled to arrive in U.S. market on September 29. This album will be made available in a two-CD set as well as a single CD. There will also be a DVD release which includes Madonna's never-before-seen music videos in addition to "Celebration" video.
Beside including its title track, Madonna will also list old materials from her previous albums, including "Everybody", "Express Yourself", "Vogue" and "4 Minutes", all of which have been re-mastered. Another new single in the album reportedly is a song called "Revolver" which has been leaked earlier this year with rapper Lil Wayne singing on the hook.

Extract from the Sun:
The powers that be at Radio 1 have snubbed Madge by failing to playlist her new single Celebration.
The track, which sees the pop-skeleton collaborate with dance legend PAUL OAKENFOLD, has not made the A, B or C list for the UK's most popular and influential station.
And after some digging through chart history, that's the first time one of her singles has not made the playlist.

With the music video out next week and the delaying of itunes release, It could do better then.
Also a Sun reader who commented on the story says 'Radio 1 have been woefully inconsistent with their playlist for ages now' so that may be to blame too.

Minogue: 'I'm excited for Madonna'
Danni Minogue has revealed that she is excited for the special appearances on The X Factor.
The programme’s judge is hoping that Madonna will appear on the show.
Dannii told The Sun: "All of my gay friends are begging me for tickets to the Madonna night! It would be amazing to have her on.
She added: "I'm looking forward to Whitney, too. There was pressure on us after Britain's Got Talent to be as big and as good, and I think we will be."
However, she admitted that she thinks that Robbie Williams should lose some weight before he appears on The X Factor.
She said: "Robbie will be great - if he gets himself in shape first!
"He is such a showman, he never fails to deliver.
"I think he'll come right out to the audience and the judges like Beyoncé did last year, and put on a really great performance."

The first is a teaster by Paul Oakenfold which looks like he is showing some moves from the video.

Celebration (the album) is set to become and be sold as the greatest-greatest hits compilation ever available…ever!
And is it? Of course it will be. Michael Jackson aside, Elvis Presley Aside, and Beatles aside (Come on! All of those artists have had greatest hits after greatest hits- Madge however, has not.) Madonna and Warner Bros. are including all of the songs for our listening pleasure (in different formats).
We had You Can Dance (the Remix album), The Immaculate Collection (the 80s album), Something to Remember (the Ballads album), GH2 (the selective 90s album) and Remixed and Revisited (the “You-didn’t-want-to-buy-American Life-so-now-seat-through-some-(awesome)remixes-from-it album).
But never have we heard “Everybody” alongside “Give It 2 Me”, or “Like a Prayer” alongside “Frozen”. But now, we can. The discs are going to be hardcore, all they can sell us, grandeoso.
Since this is the last Warner Bros. disc with Madge (her record company since the very beginning), this is going to be major! Think video-DVDs, every single you can think of, every format you can think of, iTunes deluxe downloads, CD booklets, the works.
So far the formats include: digital downloads, CD, double CD, DVD, double DVD, and you can imagine what else they’ll think of.
Madonna.com has confirmed the compilation will have 36 tracks proclaiming it as "The Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection: 34 Songs That Changed the World", plus two new tracks.
And we believe our Queen- we believe.
The album is set to drop on September 28th of this year.

Review of her concert in Usce.
The popular singer Madonna held a spectacular concert Usce last night and delighted over 30,000 fans. Once again her two-hour party in Belgrade justified her status of the pop-queen.
The concert was late for more than one hour. According to the concert organizers, the reason was that “Madonna wanted to additionally heat up the atmosphere and make the audience wait for her performance with even greater impatience.”
Exactly at 10.03 PM, the lights on the stage are on, thousands of mobile phones shine in the dark and Madonna appears on the stage on her throne and the concert starts with the song “Candy Shop”.
“All right Serbia, this is what I am talking about,” shouts the American singer and starts singing “Beat Goes On,” while the audience greets her with standing ovations as she appears in a white old-timer.
“Are you ready? I am asking you, are you ready?” she addressed the audience with the first lines of the song “Human Nature”. Her song “Vogue” ended the first segment of her concert, after which she went backstage to change her clothes to return dressed as a cheerleader. The audience quiet at the beginning started waking up with the song “Holyday”, while the atmosphere reached its peak with her song “She’s Not Me” and Madonna kissed one of the dancers.
The best description of the concert would be: perfectly practiced routine. However, when it comes to Madonna’s concert, everything is clear. We expected a visual spectacle, a great party with numerous dancers on the stage, the change of rhythm, new versions of old hits using different samples, from “Sex Pistols” to Michael Jackson, etc. We also expected Madonna’s moving around the stage, poll dancing and that is what we got. Of course we didn’t expect to hear her outstanding vocals, because it was never her strength. However, her show in Belgrade is worthy of praise and being at Usce last night was an amazing experience. This is the first time that the pop-queen visited Serbia, which seemed as a sheer fantasy several years ago.
“Let me see you… mother****er,” shouted Madonna and started singing her hit “Ray of Light“. She finished the concert with series of hits, such as “4 Minutes”, “Like a Prayer“, “Give it 2 me“. While music was slowly fading in the background, Madonna went off the stage, greeted the fans from the first rows and sang the final lines with them.
“Then you Belgrade, good night,” she greeted the audience at the end of the concert exactly at midnight.

Madonna's new single "Celebration" has reached number 1 this week in both the UK Upfront Club Chart and the UK Commercial Club Chart!
It seems that the release date of the new Madonna greatest hits will be brought forward in more markets, as following the news coming from the Netherlands today, also Warner Music Italy confirmed that "Celebration" will hit the stores on Friday, September 18 instead of the original planned date the following week. Also in Holland.

Revolver is a registered Madonna song
Warner Chappell, the database of registered songs now lists new Madonna song Revolver. The songwriting credit is shared between six songwriters. Contrary to fan speculation, Madonna does get a writer credit, which means her version will not be identical to the leaked demo.
The writers are: Carlos Centel Battey, Steven Andre Battey, Dwayne Carter, Justin Scott Franks, Brandon Kitchen & Madonna. The song is produced by Madonna and Frank E and is featuring as a bonus track on the double disc version of Celebration.
We'd like to point out that Dwayne Carter is hip hop superstar Lil Wayne, which confirms his involvement in the track.
Moreover, the song Celebration is registered on the same site as well.

'Celebration' - Track Listing for CD & DVD Announced
For Immediate Release - August 26, 2009 - (Burbank, California) - Warner Bros. Records has confirmed the final track listing for Madonna’s upcoming “Celebration” CD – The “Ultimate” Compilation - and “Celebration the Video Collection DVD” – both scheduled to be released on September 28/29th. The songs which were selected by Madonna and her fans have all been exquisitely remastered. “Celebration” will be available as a two-CD set as well as a single CD.
The “Celebration Video Collection DVD” will include unedited and never before seen footage of “Justify My Love” along with 27 Madonna videos to be released on a DVD compilation for “the very first time” including “Into The Groove” and “Give It To Me” as well as the just completed video of Madonna’s new single “Celebration.”
Madonna clearly continues to rule the dance floor with her latest single. Her “Celebration” Remix EP is #1 on iTunes Dance Album chart as well as #1 on the Masterbeat overall chart. The song is #*5 on Billboard’s Club Singles Chart and the Greatest Gainer for the second week in a row. On the international front so far, the “Celebration” single is already #1 in Italy and Holland, #2 in Japan and is Top 5 airplay in every other major market.
Another newly recorded song, “Revolver” featuring Lil Wayne is also included on the “Celebration” CD. Artwork for the packaging of the CD and DVD was designed by renowned street pop artist “Mr. Brainwash.”

Madonna fans are being urged to stay away from her forthcoming Sticky and Sweet tour date in Bulgaria by the country's Orthodox Church.
Church of Bulgaria officials have accused the star of showing a "lack of respect" for church rituals.
They expressed their "disapproval and disagreement" with her planned show this Saturday in the Bulgarian capital.
The concert, at Sofia's Vasil Levski Stadium, is expected to be attended by about 50,000 people.
Saturday is also a day of lent for Orthodox Christians marking the beheading of John the Baptist.
A statement from the Church accused Madonna of displaying "a disrespectful and intolerant attitude" to the religious feelings of Christians on her ongoing tour.
"We express our Christian support and approval for the art of singing, which influences the moral development of people and promotes universal moral values," it said.
"In some of her choreography and stage scenarios, this singer sends impressive messages which, however, run contrary to Christian morality."
Madonna will arrive in Sofia following a concert in neighbouring Romania, on Wednesday.
Almost all tickets - costing up to 150 leva (£67) - have already been sold, organisers said.
It will be one of the largest gigs ever organised in Sofia.

Warner Bros. announcing ''Revolver''
In today's press release Warner Bros. Records has confirmed the final track listing for Madonna's upcoming "Celebration" CD scheduled to be released on September 28/29th. The new press release adds a few tidbits and expalins how the songs on the album - which were selected by Madonna and her fans - have all been exquisitely remastered.
It also mentions for the first time in an official publicity release the other newly recorded song, "Revolver" featuring Lil Wayne.
"Revolver", now listed on the Warner Chappell online catalogue, writing credits are shared by Carlos Centel Battey, Steven Andre Battel (The Jackie Boyz), Dwayne Carter (Lil Wayne), Justin Scott Franks, Brandon Kitchen, and Madonna.
Madonna clearly continues to rule the dance floor with her latest single, the press release also comments. Her "Celebration" Remix EP is #1 on iTunes Dance Album chart as well as #1 on the Masterbeat overall chart. The song is #5 on Billboard’s Club Singles Chart and the Greatest Gainer for the second week in a row.
On the international front so far, the "Celebration" single is already #1 in Italy and Holland, #2 in Japan and is Top 5 airplay in every other major market.

24, 26 & 29 August - Belgrade, Bucharest & Sofia
The last 3 shows on the European continent were all in brand new countries for Madonna. Naturally she got a lot of attention in Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria with her fantastic show, showed top form and pleased legions of fans. Unfortunately not everything went perfect, since it already made rounds in the worldwide press that Madonna spoke up against Gypsy-discrimination at the Bucharest show which divided the audience and a considerable amount of attenders did not share Madonna's enthusiasm. Since then both Madonna and her Gypsy band reaffirmed their point of view and condemned the people booing her. In Sofia, a fan outside the stadium posted offensive transparents about Madonna's adoption and he immediately got banned from attending the concert. Thankfully this incident did not escalate, neither Madonna repeated her Gypsy speech in Bulgaria, so the sold out crowd of the Levski Stadium did not get affected and got a top-notch performance. The Michael Jackson tribute during Holiday also felt more special for both the fans and the performers, as MJ would have turned 51 on August 29th (for more on the Bucharest show, check out SPIN's review).
Contrary to previous reports, Madonna did not stay in Vienna during the Eastern European leg, she divided her time between Budapest and Bucharest, even got spotted relaxing a bit with her dancers in the hotel pool in Romania. After the Sofia show Madonna immediately flew to Israel, where the tour is sadly coming to an end. The last 2 shows in Tel Aviv are immensely hyped up and there are several rumours circulating. At the very least, Madonna will definitely give her all to honor the tour finale double-date in a place that's very special for her.
Last, but not least, according to several reports across the online Madonna community, it seems Madonna's manager Guy Oseary has been giving out some hints to fans at the front rows about Madonna's future projects: not surprisingly, she's aiming to release a new album in the fall of 2010 (which fits her usual 2 and a half year gap between records) and then of course she would tour to promote it, might be at the end of 2010 already, or early 2011, not clear as of yet. Of course these plans are tentative, but keep in mind her current show is built around the concept of not wasting time... ;-)

Madonna arrives in Israel ahead of Tel Aviv concerts
Jerusalem – Ma’an – Pop queen Madonna landed her private jet in Israel on Sunday ahead of two concerts in Tel Aviv.
The concerts, in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park, on Tuesday and Wednesday, are a part of the last leg of Madonna’s global Sticky and Sweet Tour, which she launched in August of last year to promote her most recent album, Hard Candy, which received a mixed reception.
Arriving from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, Madonna planned an afternoon tour of holy sites in Jerusalem. She was accompanied by 250-stong entourage.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that efforts were underway to arrange meetings between the pop star and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Tzipi Livni.
Madonna was last in Israel in 2006 when she marked the holy day of Yom Kippur with other students of the Jewish mystic tradition Kabbalah.

Madonna tours Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem
The Material Girl has opened a visit to the Holy Land with a spiritual touch.
Madonna headed to Jerusalem's Old City late Sunday where she toured an ancient tunnel near the Western Wall — the holiest site where Jews can pray.
The 51-year-old pop star arrived in a black Mercedes van and was escorted into the tunnel by police. She made no comment to reporters and was whisked away about a half hour later.
Madonna isn't Jewish, but she's a follower of Jewish mysticism and has even taken the Hebrew name Esther.
She arrived early Sunday for a pair of concerts this week. It will be her first performance in Israel since 1993, though she came on private pilgrimages in 2004 and 2007.
Madonna is also set to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday.
