I can't really answer the poll. I'm a learner. So I 'd say I can pretty much drive but I don't have a license

Yeah, I had no serious injuries in the end but got a lifelong cautious attitude when it comes to roads and a distrust of drivers.

Yeah pretty much, I've had nine operations where they've had to put in implants, T-Tubes, Grommets and such.

She's a goddess <3

Yeah, i haven't driven for some time. I fell asleep at the wheel and had quite a serious crash. It was just fortunate that there were no other cars about at the time (it happened at 3.30am). It's made me very cautious about driving ever since.

That's fantastic that they fixed your hearing. Do you have full hearing now ?

Not old enough, but when I am ill definitely consider it. The only problem is, I get a gut feeling I'll be **** at it so idk whether to get lessons and prove myself wrong or just not drive.

My dad is very keen for me to learn as soon as I'm 17 and thinks it's just Best for me to sit on my license (metaphorically) until I feel comfortable/can afford a car but idk yet.

I'm glad you're okay I could only imagine how much of an effect something like that would have had on you.

My hearing is below average overall, it's strong in some areas but quite weak in others. I'm happy enough though.

Thanks hun.
I was at my mates house and i nodded off and woke up remembering that i had work in the morning so decided (stupidly) to drive home. I was driving along a 300 yard straight and fell asleep, crossed the other lane and hit a wall. I was fine apart from a few knocks and bumps but my car was written off.
I just couldn't get the thought out of my head of what could have happened if someone was coming the other way in the other lane. It got me really depressed. It was quite a while ago now though so i've just gotta' learn from it.

It must be fantastic coming from not being able to hear at all to having nearly normal hearing. Music is a huge part of my life and i've played the guitar for years so i can't imagine not being able to hear.

Yeah for a while now. Although I started driving (consistently) like 2 years after I got my license.

Yeah probably better to just get it and not use it than to wait it out. Especially if the UK is similar to the US where they teach Driver's Ed in high school and you take the written test there?

I waited too long to take my driving test so then I had to re-take the written test (idk why). Plus, even if you don't use it it'll look like you have a clean record for a while in case you end up getting pulled over or something once you actually start driving/learning.
