I liked Sheffield, but the open day seemed rushed, the accommodation was 20m off campus & there were a lot of busy rounds on campus & between campus buildings.

However the course looked amazing, the department is highly prestigious & so is the uni, the nightlife & student union looked great, the accommodation was really good & cheap.There are way more positives than negatives..

I loved Exeter, but I'm still worried about two things

Yeah, either then or I'll wake up and be completely paralysed but feel like I can't breathe.... I even went to the doctors a few years ago as I was convinced it was some huge brain tumour or something but it's classic anxiety apparently, something to do with how your body shuts down when you sleep but your brain doesn't. Whatever it is, it's pretty awful but now I know what it is, I get out of them quicker now. Are you taking any meds? I got beta blockers when my anxiety was bad. I don't take them now but I always have them in..

My most recent one was finding the cyst on the back of my head... was convinced it was cancer, I couldn't sleep until I'd been to the doctor about it and was reassured it was just a cyst... my mum thought it was hilarious, she said it was a cyst too but because I couldn't see the bloody thing and I'm such a pessimist I was convinced otherwise... but turns out I was right to at least be concerned seeing as I need to get it removed!

There are only 5000 students on campus (compared to 20k+ at other uni's), during the open day there were hardly any other students about & it seemed deserted. I also like going clubbing & theres not a club on campus & very few in the town (1 I think), also the accommodation is only self catered & I cant cook.

But the campus is gorgeous, the accommodation is amazing, all the students I saw were really hot & the course is so interesting, the lecturer's were so friendly as I spoke with 4 of them, and I got a really great feel for the uni & would love to live there, next to the beaches

Like Annie says anxiety is a terrible thing, I've had it as long as I can remember and your brain convinces you you're at serious risk sometimes, I've thought I was dying, I'm better at handling attacks now cos I know logically that once it's passed I'll be ok, but they are very unpleasant to experience. And it can happen to anyone. You're such a lovely looking girl with so much going for you, you're funny and smart. Chin up sweetie :hug:

..yeah, it really is all in our control but we often don't realise it and it's all about getting our 'level' back and in a way you have to be selfish to do that because you have to give yourself the environment that you need and avoid anything that you know you won't be comfortable with until you feel ok in yourself but it's not really selfish though, because if we're no good to ourselves then we can't be any good for others to be around and what they need us to be and I know that your family will understand that as well, Lee..because they love every bit of you...everyone's different but I know for me, when I was going back into the 'real world' after my surgery..CBT really helped a lot because it kind of gets you to 'retrace' your thoughts to when you felt less panicky to try to find the 'trigger' for it and it's quite often something so so small, that you wouldn't even know but CBT helps you to recognise it and once you do and understand it, then it stops being a real fear and you stop panicking...it's complicated to explain lol....
