Joe is clearly uneducated. Raph is not only educated, he has a quiet presence and doesn't have any wish to threaten or intimidate anyone. Joe is harsh, fidgetty, defensive and I think he lies about his age. Raph has no need to. Raph knows about the power of the quiet warrior. Joe knows about scrawny, lizardlike behaviour. I would not want Joe to like me if I were in there so I imagine Raph will be marginally relieved Joe has nominated him. On Friday I hope Raph gives Joe one of his knowing smiles after he survives.
