Edge recently sat down with The Miami Herald newspaper and was asked about the possibility of "one more match". Here is what he said:

"I don't really want to think about it, and also the WWE doctors told me they'll never give me clearance to do it. It's not going to change. My spine is shrinking. So it's not like four years down the road it's gonna suddenly open back up, and in order for it to open back up, I'd need to get surgery which would weaken my neck even more, which definitely stops me from ever doing it again.

"What doctors told me is they won't clear me. Now, I think [Austin] has the same thing as me. So coming back he has to pass all that stuff, and if you can't pass it, they won't clear you. It immediately got rid of, 'I can come back for one more.' It's like maybe I could, but they told me they won't let me. So they took that all out of my hands. It's funny because people have said, "Oh, OK, so you're going to comeback for one more.' It's like you're missing the point here. I didn't retire because I wanted to. I retired because they told me I had to. There's a big difference there."

"Even the weekend with 'SummerSlam,' I did an autograph session, and fans were asking, 'When you coming back for one more.' You don't understand. They told me I can't. People will give you flack, and it's like, 'No, I'm not walking away from this to become an actor. I was told that they will not let me do this. 'You're done.' No choice in the matter. 'Sorry.'

"So I don't have any second guessing or that maybe in two years I can come back and do that one last match or anything like that. Yea, I'm done, and that's all there is to it, and you have to accept it."

Just finished watching the new Jim Cornette one from Kayfabe Commentaries [downloaded it off pwtorrents].

Timeline 1997. Basically Jim Cornette with all his booking sheets and notepads talking about 1997 month by month for three hours.

Can't wait for more of these.

F4Wonline.com is reporting that there has been serious talk of The Rock and John Cena having a best of 3 series. This would not only solve the problem of which one of these two stars goes over at WrestleMania but will allow the WWE to cash in more on this big time match up.

The first match would be at WrestleMania and the the series would culminate at Summerslam 2012.

As of now The Rock will be at Survivor Series where he will cut a promo and likely get physically involved with John Cena. The Rock is also expected to be appearing at Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber to help build to WrestleMania 28.

As noted before, Kevin Nash’s “release” that was announced earlier today is all part of what’s happening on TV. The release was announced to play off the major deal that John Laurinaitis signed Nash to on RAW.

The reason for Nash’s exit from the WWE storylines is because Nash has booked a movie role, likely the same one that he is dieting for. Word is that the people behind the movie didn’t want to insure Nash for filming while he was working as a pro wrestler. Nash will likely stay gone until he is done filming the movie. No word yet if this will affect any of his independent dates.

PG pretty much did kill the business. Ratings are still in the doldrums, merchandise sales are way down from last year, and the PPV business may as well not exist.

Cena is the only big North American wrestling star in his prime in a full time wrestling role and the catch 22 with him is that whilst he is stopping a new audience from coming in he is the only one keeping the current one there.

Business won't change until they get off their arse and make a face of equal stature to him enabling him to turn heel. They just don't push people. They've totally forgotten how to make stars. They'll say they try but 'trying' isin't feeding midcarders to the top dogs to get beat each and every week which is all they do. Cena is the show and anything that isin't Cena is just a constant Raw Roulette of midcarders fighting each other in a series of matches that never end. It's like football or something.

For all the hype about Punk he's done nothing for business. The way he has been booked since Money In The Bank has been laughable and has alienated the people who were supposed to start buying him as the next big thing.

Raw's gotten exciting again because of some of the fly off the wall booking at the top level and it's been the best it's been since the first half of 2006 and Batista's absurdly well booked turn against Evolution which done incredible business. It's easy to forget that Raw was managing to stay in the 4.0 range during those periods compared to the 3.5 ratings they were constantly doing since 2003/2004. They had a little peak time there for the Batista/Triple H storyline and the first six months of 2006. It was hot stuff.

Most people assume it's been doing the exact same rating since 2002. Now of course it's starting to struggle to stay in the 3.0s. And Monday Night Football starts in America this week too I think.

Following tonight's SmackDown taping at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, WWE held a ceremony honoring Edge.

Seven-time WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus kicked off "Edge Appreciation Night" by introducing "The Rated-R Superstar." Photographs of Edge's most memorable WWE moments aired on the big screen, including a video montage featuring comments from John Cena, Bret Hart, CM Punk, The Miz, Josh Mathews, Vickie Guerrero, Randy Orton and Jim Ross, among others. Edge broke into tears while the video aired.

Christian interrupted the festivities to say that he and Edge are closer than friends as they were like brothers. He adds that a great way to show appreciation for Edge is to bring out the people closest to him. Edge's mom Judy appeared, as did his trainers Steve Hutchinson and Sweet Daddy Siki, former WWE Superstar Rhyno, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart and the WWE locker room.

Edge spoke and notably said to Hart, "Bret, you and Owen were the two I looked up to as Canadians." The ceremony concluded with a five-second pose "for the benefit of those with flash photography."

TMZ has posted an article about Matt Hardy's latest arrest for driving while impaired that includes a link to the full police report as a PDF/Adobe Reader file (with the usual TMZ watermark).

RDU Airport Police Sgt. M.L. Larson was sent out on a call about a "possible drunk driver" who was "all over the road" and barely missed hitting two drivers three different times She spotted Hardy's car, turned on his flashing lights, and pulled Hardy over. As Hardy made a left turn in the process of pulling over where he was directed, "his vehicle swerved into the curb and back into the road before stopping in the service court."

When Sgt. Larson asked Hardy how he was doing, he "mumbled" the word "alright." Hardy said that he was there "to pick up [his] girlfriend" after being asked what he was doing there. Larson noted that "Mr. Hardy's speech was very slurred and he made a concentrated effort to speak 'normally.'"

In addition, Larson wrote that "Mr. Hardy's appearance was neat, but his speech was very slow and slurred, and he had trouble focusing on me while I was speaking to him. He was able to answer questions after hesitating and slurring his speech." Hardy denied drinking and answered in the affirmative when "asked if he was okay."

When Larson asked Hardy to get out of the car, he started to open the door, but the car started to roll, so Larson "yelled for him to put the vehicle in park." Yes, Matt Hardy was so out of it that he didn't shift his car into park when he pulled over, instead keeping his foot on the brakes the whole time and then forgot that he hadn't shifted into park when he had to get out. Wow.

When Hardy got out, Larson turned the traffic stop over to Officer C. Smith-Wynter (referred to as Officer Smith in text of the report). Smith observed that "Hardy had slow and slurred speech, sleepy eyes and a very lackadaisical manner."

Smith conducted the standard feld sobriety tests (SFSTs), starting with the Walk-and-Turn test. This consists of nine heel to toe steps, turning around, and repeating the steps.

Hardy "mis-stepped" after four steps, but was allowed to restart the test. He.completed the initial leg of nine steps, turned, and then "after taking two steps, Mr. Hardy lost his balance and failed to stay on the line." When asked to continue, he took three steps before failing.

After Smith "explained and demonstrated the test to Mr. Hardy again," he was only able to take "two or three steps" before losing his balance. Smith then stopped the test.

The next SFST was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, which looks for a specific type of "involuntary jerking of the eye" that is "exaggerated" when someone is impaired by alcohol. Hardy tested negative. Portable Breathalyzer tests conducted at both 2:15 PM & 2:21 PM local time registered 0.00% blood alcohol content.

The last SFST was was the One-Leg Stand Test, in which "the suspect is instructed to stand with one foot approximately six inches off the ground and count aloud by thousands (One thousand-one, one thousand-two, etc.) until told to put the foot down." In both attempts, Hardy was "unable to hold his leg up past 1 second."

At 5:30 PM, Trooper H.C. Ellefson arrived on the scene and evaluated Hardy, performing "a battery" of SFSTs before Smith arrested Hardy for Driving Under the Influence. Please don't ask me what the difference between Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Impaired/Intoxicated is, if there is one.

Hardy's car, a 2011 Camaro, was driven home by his girlfriend, Rebecca "Reby Sky" Reyes. His blood was drawn at Wake County Jail, with the specimen being secured and entered into an evidence locker at the RDU Airport Police department.

For what it's worth, since I forgot to mention it earlier, Hardy also has a charge pending for Reckless Driving in Wanton Disregard. The court date on that charge is October 11th.

Thankfully he hasn't hurt anyone else yet. Hopefully, this series of charges serves as a blessing in disguise and leads to him being forced into an inpatient drug rehabilitation program. He's not going to get better any other way, and there's no way he's going on his own.

The finalized WrestleMania buyrate according to WWE is about 1,120,000 PPV buys. Considering last year drew 885,000 and business this year was much lower you would have to assume that's a lot of extra buys The Rock drew - as bad as the segments he has were at the actual event. He drew about an extra quater million on paper up from last year. Probably more if we assume - which is fair to assume - that without Rock this year would have got much lower than last year. Probably about 700,500 I reckon.

Loved it. Not even Cena's title win bothered me considering it's just the dull Del Rio he took it off. The main event was a proper old school brawl with plenty of run in action that opened up another giant chapter of storyline and made both men look good.

Just finished watching Raw too and honestly I thought it was the best Raw all year. Virtually every segment was worth it's weight and the crowd were hot all night long. Superb. Put me in a real good mood.

Regal looked absoloutely nutter dragging Truth out of the building by his face.

This years Survivor Series is already announced that it will feature John Cena and The Rock teaming together for one time only.

WZ has learned that The Rock and John Cena together on a team will be part of a massive main event WWE wants to promote for this years Survivor Series.

As of now, the current plan is for a team that is anti-WWE to face a team that is defending WWE. The anti-WWE team is not fully known at this time but obviously will feature the “future endeavored” stars of The Miz, R-Truth and Kevin Nash. There is said to be a few other names talked about internally to align themselves on the anti-WWE team, even Vince McMahon has been rumored to be a participant in the match, but a full lineup is not yet known.

On the other side of the ring, the WWE team is definitely going to feature The Rock, John Cena and Triple H. After speaking with sources, WWE wants to have another big name involved. As of now, the two names on the wish list are The Undertaker or Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Both Stone Cold and The Undertaker are huge names and symbolize the WWE legacy.

It is believed the team would only have one of those two men. If Austin was to be involved, I was told this would ensure CM Punk being on the team as well.

“The Rock and Cena feud has been featured on screen and on twitter. Stone Cold and Punk rivalry has been acknowledged as well, it would be a great fit they get everyone together” is what a source said to me.

The source did say they feel if Austin was to be on this team with Punk at Survivor Series, the chances of him performing in a big singles match at WrestleMania 28 would “highly increase." I asked why he feels that way and he said because if he has another match it will be with CM Punk and it would make sense that the two big featured matches at Mania would all be teammates at Survivor Series as they try to defend the WWE and preserve traditions like WrestleMania against the anti-WWE faction.

From what I am hearing, Stone Cold Steve Austin is the tougher name to get to agree to do the match. Austin has never ruled out getting in the ring again but wants things to be the right situation. The Undertaker would be the more likely option as most in the company are expecting him to come back sometime in the next couple months to get ready for WrestleMania.

Yesterday, WZ posted a story about Alberto Del Rio winning at Hell In A Cell being a “game day” decision. Apparently part of what potentially is causing the last minute changes is the uncertainty of where everyone fits in at Survivor Series. Originally, Cena being involved in the Survivor Series team match while being the champion was going to be the plan but now depending on who else is on the team they might go with having a separate WWE championship.

I was told while there are blanks to fill, WWE wants to have them filled by Vengeance. WZ had an exclusive last month about Vince McMahon wanting this years Survivor Series to be a big deal and therefore these blanks need to be filled in by Vengeance so everyone knows what the game plan is for the next month leading into Survivor Series.

Rumors surfaced last year about Lesnar possibly facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania. He comments on how the match would have been like.
