Did Jim White think he was on to the journalistic expose of the century with that segment? Asking Miz - who was trying to stay in character and sell a product - about the nature of the business in such a patronising manner was incredibly disrespectful.

Mind you if it was Triple H sitting there he wouldn't have asked. That's the problem with Miz. He looks and sounds absurd trying to do a tough guy act. It was pretty cringeworthy from him, I thought.

I don't know why, but I absolutely loved the 2001 rumble match... it was gripping, even if the winner was a tad predictable.

Oh and I will watch RR when I get back home tomorrow, so I intend to do my best to avoid any spoilers and just get straight into a stream.

To answer my own question my favourite 'Rumble is the 1999 one. Odd choice because segments of the match were very boring but I loved the storyline that ran throughout it - itself a much bigger storyline, the best stuff WWE have ever done - charting Stone Cold's title loss at Breakdown 1998 to him winning it again at WrestleMania XV.

You had Austin and Vince starting, Vince leading Austin up to the jacks where Test and the rest of the Corporation gave him a good toilet battering, Austin being ambulanced away, the match going on for awhile with the likes of Gillberg and Golga [including a big row of fans at ringside who headbopped to Gangrel's theme music], Vince coming down thinking he was going to win doing commentary, Austin coming back, Vince getting desperate on commentary wanting someone to eliminate him, Vince eventually doing it himself and winning the thing ...

RR 2000, not for the rumble match itself but for the Triple H v Cactus Jack street fight....was the first time I watched wrestling.
