Ryder Vs. Cole!
Cole has random filthy tattoo syndrome.
To be fair though I was really let down that the epic return of the King Of Kings music was just Cole.
But if you'd have told me this half a year ago ...
... Jesus.
Del Rio is such a boring bastard.. I want to like him but just can't at all
It's just starting to dawn on me how better Raw will be simply now that JR is back.
I hope Cole comes back too. They'd be the best three way ever.
They need to promote regal to Smackdown or Raw he is far to good for NXT a wasted talent i only ever watch it to listen to his one liners now
Yeah he has huge potential as a commentator. King has been the worst thing for years now but they'll never get rid of him because he has been around too long.
So Jared 'Pretentious Principals Git' Leto has *****d himself out to Hugo Boss adverts now?
Miz has seen his ass.. Trips better watch out
Fantastic promo. But seriously ... Miz has to turn. Now.
There is always some lovely girls in them DFS ads. Great legs.

Yes it is obvious, I was been modest.
I saw this coming after the comic con "invasion". WWE has been predictable a hell of a lot since it went PG. I had hoped the punk storyline was the start of things turning around. Alas it is not.
Anyone think the match will happen at summerslam?
They have to put CM Punk over Cena.. the people want it.

Yeah sorry I was being a drunk dick.
Bringing him back was probably too soon for my personal tastes, but makes perfect sense. Especially in light of the fact that I suspect my original fears about this feud (that the regular audience were missing some of the 'social network' points of it) were coming true, as it took the massive bait 'n' switch prompt of JR's return to get the crowd really thinking about CM Punk; there were about four people shouting his name in the Miz/Rey match.
Similarly, WWE is primarily a television vehicle and, whilst we scour the internet for the super cool **** they've been doing, they need their current hottest property, and Summerslam main event, back on the flagship show. Had they continued to carry out this feud on Twitter, or youtube, I really think it would have lost all momentum in everyone but the hardcores. And, whilst we would have loved it it wouldn't have been a great business move going into one of the biggest shows of the year.
Also, having crowned a new champion whilst Punk held the original is reason enough for him to come back, I think, considering they've hinged his current gimmick on being the 'best of the world', they simply need to push that his psyche refuses to allow that notion to be challenged in the eyes of the public.
It was a great Raw. A really great Raw. And the rest of them will be imporoved tenfold by having JR there. We just need to get rid of King who has become the worst thing in wrestling.
I hope Triple H continues to be on camera way too much as well. His awesome.

As everyone knows by now, this past Monday's RAW featured the first night that Triple H was "in charge" as well as the returns of John Morrison, Jim Ross and CM Punk.
We noted earlier here on the website that RAW was completely re-written prior to the show going live. In an update on this, there were actually SIX different scripts for RAW that had been circulating throughout the day. One of those scripts had Triple H laying out CM Punk with a pedigree. Of course, that didn't happen. This just goes to show you how much things change on a daily basis in WWE.
As most would assume, the obvious scenario would be to really push CM Punk to the top considering his recent storyline angle and fan interest. With that being said, most of the RAW scripts were not about having CM Punk go over. They were more about pushing Triple H's new "authority figure" role. Surprised?!
As noted, the original RAW script called for CM Punk to be attacked by Triple H with a pedigree. Alberto Del Rio would then have come out and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase against John Cena at SummerSlam. This would have put Triple H over as a major heel and then led to a storyline with CM Punk.
Of course, all scripts besides one were scrapped and that's what you saw on Monday night.
Nice to see they went with this route and not that one.
Iceman
28-07-2011, 09:39 PM
As noted yesterday, WWE overhauled the SummerSlam card on Monday after deciding that their creative plans for CM Punk at the event were "awful." This caused Alberto Del Rio to be removed from the WWE Title picture once again.
Del Rio is still scheduled to be WWE Champion at some point in the near future. Those close to the booking situation indicate that John Cena vs. Del Rio for the belt is planned for September but that could always change.
Part of the reason WWE wanted Del Rio as WWE Champion at SummerSlam is because of the Los Angeles market and the hope that they would draw from the Latin community. There was also a long-term plan of Del Rio being champion when WWE returns to Mexico in October with the idea that the would be the first Mexican to hold a WWE Title in Mexico while they were taping TV there for the first time. Del Rio going back to Mexico as WWE Champion is seen as a way to broaden the fan base in what is currently the company's strongest market.

CM Punk got Vince McMahon to do something he has had a policy against doing in most cases – pay royalty rights to use popular songs instead of WWE-created music. Of course, Punk used Living Colour's "Cult of Personality" on Monday's RAW.

:worship: Punk has Vinnie Mac under the thumb
I wondered what that song was. I liked it a lot more than his old one.
Most of that is complete rubbish. Punk's old theme was copyrighted too -to Killswitch Engage - not a WWE produced theme.
The idea that they would make Del Rio a focal point of SummerSlam because of 'the Latin aspect' is a riddiculous assertion. The event has already sold out.
It does look like it will eventually go the route of CM Punk Vs. Triple H but six scripts? Punk jobbing out to Triple H this early? I wouldn't believe a word of it. Smacks of fan penned bollocks.

Internet title looks pretty legit hopefully he'll have it on Tv!
As we have noted, WWE is going with the idea that long-term booking works better and will be booking more angles ahead of time and going backwards.
WrestleMania 28 has been a hot topic for months now and the way they have been building up Mark Henry as of late has to do with a possible match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania next year. Some are against the idea with the feeling that Taker shouldn’t waste one of his remaining WrestleMania matches on a guy like Henry, but the match has been discussed.
Daniel Bryan cashing in Money in the Bank and John Cena vs. The Rock is also on tap for Miami next year. Another top match that has been discussed is Triple H vs. CM Punk.
Regarding Bryan cashing in at WrestleMania 28, one source doesn’t expect that storyline to last through the end of this year.
Please god no to the M.H thing
I hope they don't try and gimmick the hell out of Bryan. If he is going to get super over it's going to be off his plain ass, down to earth, clean lifestyle, straightfoward character.
I don't want him winning some King Of The Ring tournament and coming out with a robe and odd looking stick.
He's got a smaller belt in the video the one he is holding in the pic though looks great
It's the exact same. The photo is a screenshot from the video.

I'd go in a heartbeat if I had a jawb. It'd take some serious saving at this rate and the travel packages went on sale July 18th. Either they are all gone or rubbish seats are left :(.
I stopped drinking and stuff like two months ago. If I'd have done it sooner I would have had the focus and money to make it happen I'd wager.
I'll try and do 29. 30 is a must.
28 will be huge though. It's going to be so good :(.

but yeah i have to go to one of them..it'd say its crazy like ive never even been to house show in dublin yet either ..would love to head one of them but whenever they are here i never see it advertised anywhere and miss out
Too many kids at house shows these days. Live wise I'd see a TNA Dublin event before a WWE one. Better crowds and they put more of an effort in. More messed up old faces too.
I'm going to try and get the lads to go to a show next year. We should all hook up and job Dublin out.

Devon Dudley would be a must to see at a TNA show hahah proper old face:laugh:
a TIBB wrestling meet up would be a serious laugh! wreck the place!
I'd enjoy the experience of sitting front row trying to goad Steiner and Bully Ray into fights.
Also if I ever saw Kevin Nash live I'd go so crazy I'd probably offer him a quicky in the loo or something.

Read that there could be a rumoured heel turn for Cena at Summerslam, perfect timing with this storyline.
Cena shouldn't turn heel at Summerslam, it'd be a terrible waste. It's not just any turn, this is a turn for wrestling's biggest commodity for the last few years. This is something that needs time and a huge "I was there" style moment at a top location, i.e a WrestleMania, or an event at MSG. Something along those lines. Also, they need a top babyface to replace him in his current role and shift the same amount of merch, and as good as Punk is he just isn't that guy, at least right now. The reactions he has been getting are the best I've heard in years. He needs more time to build but he is almost certainly their best bet.
Of all the times that I've pondered upon a Cena heel turn, for it to happen at Summerslam would be an anti-climax and unnecessary.

SD spoilers...
The show started with the announcement that Sheamus will take on Mark Henry at SummerSlam.
Sheamus beat Great Khali with The Brogue Kick.
Natalya beat AJ with The Sharpshooter, turning heel in the process.
Daniel Bryan made Tyson Kidd submit. Wade Barrett was on commentary.
Zack Ryder tried to book Ezekiel Jackson vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. Teddy Long came out and said that Zack is not a GM, but an assistant, and he booked him into a match with Jackson. Jackson killed him.
Mark Henry beat up Vladimir Kozlov.
Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga and JTG beat The Usos and Trent Barreta.
Johnny Curtis will debut next week.
Christian and R-Truth beat Randy Orton and John Morrison in the main event. Christian pinned Orton.
After Smackdown:
Christian beat Orton to retain the World Title with help from Rhodes and DiBiase..

Weird that R-Truth and Morrison keep coming over from RAW to make up the numbers.
So that's Beth and Nattie gone heel now in the Diva's, the heels did need freshening up a touch..
Detailed spoilers :
First match of the show is Sheamus versus Great Khali. Good back and forth, Khali couldn't sell anything. He got Sheamus in a vice grip to which Sheamus powered his way out and headbutted him and punched him then hit Khali, while he was on his knees, with the Brough Kick for the win
Next is Natalya versus AJ. They shake hands beforehand and Natalya is in control almost the entire match. Match ends as soon as Natalya puts the sharpshooter on and she helps AJ up only to beat her up right afterwards. Grabs a mic and says that she too is sick of the divas division and the bimbos and says "Beth Phoenix, I'm with you, girl!"
Promo with Randy Orton where Orton says that Christian is the only champion in history to win it after a DQ and that Christian not only hasn't beaten Orton by pinfall or submission but he can't.
Next Barrett comes out and sits at ringside for the Bryan versus Tyson Kidd match. This was actually a great wrestling match where Bryan won then him and Barrett stared at each other.
John Morrison in the back doing parkour. Cool stuff, runs up a wall and does a backflip then grabs his coat and heads away.
State of the Brogram comes up with Zach Ryder who gets a pretty big pop. But before he can say anything Ezekial Jackson comes out asking Ryder why he put him in a handicap match when he specifically said not to be in one. Then Ryder says "Bro, I though you said you wanted to be in one." and then Cody Rhodes's music hits and he comes out with Ted Dibiase saying that he wants an intercontinental title shot and he'll resurrect the title like he resurrected Ted's career. Big Zeke tells Ted that Rhodes is using Ted like Barrett used him. Teddy Long comes out and says that "Ryder is not the Assistant GM, he's just his assistant" and that he'll fight against Zeke for the intercontinental title and Rhodes & Dibiase are banned from ringside.
This match wasn't the squash I thought it'd be. In fact, Ryder was in control for the meat of it and even hit some of his spots. Still, Zeke won with the torture rack. Shortly after, Triple H showed up and told Ryder that he annoyed him and like he told Punk that there were some things he couldn't get away with. Then he told the cameras to shut off, so I don't know if this part will make it on at all, but the lights dimmed & flickered, the screen and backdrop and all the cameras were turned off and Triple H asked the crowd if they wanted to see something special, but only if we promised not to say anything (whoops!) He takes off his coat and tie and unbuttons his shirt halfway. Then tells Ryder he needs to relieve some stress and hits him with a pedigree. The crowd popped like mad for the pedigree, even the Ryder marks, and when his music hit.
Christian is preparing for his match when R-Truth walks up to him and says stuff about conspiricies and Little Jimmies. Christian agrees with the conspiracy, but asks "Who's Little Jimmy?"
Mark Henry then takes on Kazlov. Kazlov is no longer a gangster I guess. Short match, Henry wins then does the ankle break with the chair shot again. This time Sheamus comes out with a steel chair and runs Henry off.
Sheamus is found in the back walking with the steel chair when he's interviewed. He says that he's sick of Henry taking down big guys like The Big Show, Kane & Kozlov and he won't do it to him. Taking away their hearts and spirits, but he's Irish and likes to fight and his spirit and heart will always live on. I guess Sheamus is 100% face now.
Main event: R-Truth & Christian vs. Randy Orton and John Morrison
Starts off with John Morrison chasing R-Truth out of the ring, the crowd got a chuckle out of that. Officially starts with Christian and Morrisson. Good back and forth throughout. Morrisson is in there for a long time and the crowd chants Randy! Randy! Randy! at least three times. At one point, Orton comes after Christian and Christian jumps the guard rail into the crowd running away, but a few minutes later he goes back after Orton gets to his corner. FInally the hot tag is made with Christian and Orton where Orton hits some of his big moves and looks like he's getting ready to punt Christian until R-Truth makes the save. Truth gets hit by Morrison, Morrison is shoved out by Christian and Randy Orton does his middle rope DDT and prepares himself for the RKO until R-Truth comes in, and he gets RKO'd. This gives Christian the time to use the Killswitch and get the 1-2-3 clean. He runs out, grabs his belt and celebrates and starts to go up the ramp.
Dark Match Main Event:
Teddy Long comes out and says that he may have won that one, but him and Orton are having a Street Fight for the championship. Orton is in control most of the match and prepares for the RKO when DiBiase and Rhodes come in and help Christian win. Afterwards, Christian rolls out and DiBiase & Rhodes continue to fight Orton until Orton breaks out of a hold and gives them both RKOs and one more to Christian when he comes back in to send the crowd home happy!
Overall a good show. The entire upper arena was tarped off and parts of the lower arena were empty, probalby only 5-10K in the arena, but it was loud for most of the night.
Biggest pops: Randy Orton, Triple H & Hornswoggle
Biggest Heat: R-Truth, Christian & Tyson Kidd
Doesn't sound too bad. It's not setting the world alight quite yet but it's a much better show than what it was a few weeks ago.

In the latest edition of WWE Magazine, it appears as if the company are hyping a return for The Undertaker at the WWE Vengeance pay-per-view on October 23rd.
The preview reads:
“On October 23, Vengeance rises from the grave in the form of an all new Pay-Per-View. What better time and place for The Undertaker to make his return to a WWE ring. After all, it was a year and a day to the date that the Deadman lost a Buried Alive match against Kane with the help of the Nexus at the WWE Bragging Rights Pay-Per-View in 2010. The Phenom hasn’t come calling for revenge on that score (some streak got in the way), so if we were Kane or Wade Barrett, we would watch our backs come October, because if you happen to hear that ominous gong, you’ll know the bell tolls for thee.”

TNA last i heard not sure if he is there now though don't watch it
he doing well in TNA and might be chap by the end of 2011
and also GAIL KIM has quit the WWE
RVD is a chap alright.
He is wasted in TNA. I really hope he comes back to WWE and they don't waste him. He could add some serious colour to the dull midcard. If I was Triple H I'd be doing what I could to sign him.
Anyway who is on for tonight? Contract signing on Raw. As boring as contract signings usually are this one is an excuse to get Punk, Cena & Triple H in the ring at the same time so I'm on board.
Hopefully we will see more glorious cameo corporate goon stuff from the savior of sports entertainment Mr. Johnny Ace.
I'll be here hopefully they add a stipulation to the match tonight every single match confirmed or rumoured for Summerslam are 1v1 so far which i don't mind but would like to see a bit of variety and it looks like every belt apart from the tag team championship will be on the line which is a bit strange considering Night of Champions is coming up after SS
Hopefully we see another MizTruth segment tonight as well
It's a shame he won't be able to wave around the big plaque thing PWI will give him due to WWE's policy of WWE being the only thing in the wrestling world and not wanting to show another magazine on air.

Completely forgot Raw is on
Anyone up for it..?
As much as I love Punk Triple H has become the man again right now. He needs to be on screen forever and ever and ever.
Probably not I know but I wonder will they bring back the 'undisputed' tag for the new champion at Summerslam like they did with Jericho.
It could create an opening for Y2J's return.

****ing amazing exclusive Johnny Ace promo :
X0ADXMul_SM
Anyway ... Raw Raw Raw. I watched it but couldn't type last night due to being severely intoxicated. She was a bit of a mixed bag. The last segment was glorious and I liked a few of the matches but apart from the main event it doesn't feel like SummerSlam is this Sunday. The build up has been rather poor across the board.
Like I said the last segment was glorious though. They positioned Punk as the #4 guy in that segment but by the end he was #1. Cena was pretty damn good too due to the fact that he layed off the goofy stuff and actually talked openly about his relationship with the fans.
The 'my movie went straight to DVD' line was gold and even Triple H found it hard to not laugh at it. Whoever is green lighting this **** is a genius. Rock's 'Let's go Cena! CENA SUCKS' voice never ceases to amaze me.
Now for the bad news : I think it's Cena Triple H is screwing at SummerSlam given how things looked when Raw went off the air. It's funny that Punk potentially being corporate champion is considered 'bad news' these days because in reality that would still be amazing but I would rather Cena go heel with Punk becoming the #1 babyface. I know that's a smart marks pipe dream though and would be demonstrably idiotic from a business standpoint.
I'm not sure where Del Rio factors in to this though. I don't want to think about it. The guy is duller than Brooklyn Brawler. I'm sure he will try and cash in but it'd be great if he lost or got a Triple H pedigree further continuing his delayed destiny stuff.
Also Masters getting props was awesome.

Hunter sure didn't like that shove at the end when Cena was going for Punk.
I was thinking that John guy could have turned on HHH by helping Punk to win, Stu?
I still going with the obvious that Triple H is going to screw CM Punk, the end segment where Cena pushed over HHH was just a swerve to take our attention away from it IMO.
Oh my god

RE Raw again clever how Punk mentioned DH Smith, Kozlov and Masters in his segment.
Beth managed a sly dig at Melina too.

Smackdown spoiler.
Cody Rhodes defeated Ezekiel Jackson to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
:D Yes! Pleased with that, hope the Dashing One gimmick for Cody returns. Ezekiel was a dull IC champion and even worse on the microphone.
Triple H came out and set up Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title, Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan, and Great Khali vs. Randy Orton. Christian came out to speak to Hunter.
Christian threatened that Hunter needed to change his SummerSlam match against Randy Orton or he would sue. Hunter told him he has no respect as the World Hvt. Champion, so the match is still on.
Sheamus beat Christian by countout. Christian wanted no part of Sheamus, so he got himself intentionally counted out while standing on the top of the entrance ramp.
Beth Phoenix and Natalya defeated Kaitlyn and A.J. Beth Phoenix pinned A.J. to get the win for her team.
There was a backstage segment with Teddy Long, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and Aksana.
There was also a segment with Mark Henry and Johnny Curtis backstage. They will meet later in the show.
Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd. Mike said it didn't seem like anyone knew the difference between this Sin Cara and the real Sin Cara, assuming they used someone else under the mask because the real Sin Cara is suspended.
Alberto Del Rio defeated Daniel Bryan, Bryan missed a top rope move. Del Rio got the win via submission.
Cody Rhodes defeated Ezekiel Jackson to win the Intercontinental Title. It appeared Dylan Drake of AllProWrestling.com was passing out the paper bags at ringside. Cody got the win with CrossRhodes to become the new champion. I smell a rematch at SummerSlam.
Backstage, Randy Orton said he will unleash his anger at SummerSlam. He then discussed his match against Great Khali.
Mark Henry beat Johnny Curtis. Sheamus came out to stop "Shamu" and wanted him to take on the great white tonight instead of at SummerSlam.
Randy Orton beat The Great Khali. Orton hit the RKO on Khali for the pin. Christian came out afterward and said he's the best thing going.
That show sounds TERRIBLE.
They are just throwing out matches that could be PPV mid-card matches on free TV and then not announcing anything for Summerslam. The whole thing just boggles my mind. Makes no sense whatsoever. And I know the roster split hasn't meant much for awhile but now it's just ridiculous.
Here are a list of people with no proper matches/fueds or storylines heading into Summerslam:
The Miz
Rey Mysterio
Dolph Ziggler
R-Truth
John Morrison
Daniel Bryan
Wade Barrett
Kofi Kingston
Alex Riley
And a massive LOL at the Sin Cara thing. Good lord.
Isn't Riley in a feud with Ziggler at the minute?
Barely!
I'm talking about fully fleshed out interesting storylines that seem to have a point and momentum as opposed to just giving them something to keep them busy.

Triple H is serious on introducing new talents through vignettes and promos. It's also being said that Triple H is interested in reviving the WWE Tag Team division. Word is that they are really starting to recruit tag teams and see if some names are under contract to other promotions.
There has been talk internally about The Brisco Brothers but they are signed to Ring of Honor. There has also been a lot of talk about TNA's Beer Money and bringing them in once they are able to get away from TNA.
Regarding the Kings of Wrestling - Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli coming, the talk is that they will indeed be brought in together as a tag team and not singles wrestlers.
The Miz did a backstage interview at RAW for WWE's website where he said despite not being booked for SummerSlam, he will be there and will steal
A source at THQ reports that designs have been created for Brock Lesnar to appear in the new WWE '12 video game. So far there is no talk of Lesnar appearing on WWE TV or doing anything WWE-related to promote the game.
-- Rey Mysterio had an MRI done over the weekend but as of yesterday, did not have the results back. Rey is reportedly very worried as it’s the same knee that he has had several surgeries on. We should know more later this week.
-- Vince McMahon reportedly does not want John Laurinaitis to have a speaking role on WWE TV anymore as he feels Laurinaitis can’t cut a good promo.
