Last night's 1/28 episode of Monday Night Raw brought in big numbers for WWE's post-Rumble show. Raw averaged hours of 4.86, 5.27 and 4.93 in millions of viewers, with an average of 5.02 million fans across all three hours. This is up 700,000 viewers and 16 percent from last week.

According to PWTorch, the early rating for Raw is a 3.86 (up 21%), which is the second highest score since the WrestleMania 27 follow-up in 2011, trailing only Raw 1,000 in July of last year.

IIRC this is the bestrating for the 'normal 3 hour RAW'.

Regardless, The Rock = ratings, there's no denying it....I expect RAW next week to take a huge nosedive though

Sky has been criticised by Ofcom for airing violent scenes such as a 'bare knuckle fight' in WWE Superstars on a Saturday morning last year.

A complainant alerted Ofcom to content in a pre-recorded sequence featuring English WWE wrestler Wade Barrett, aired on Sky1 on November 10, 2012 at 9.20am.

The sequence depicted Barrett - who was raised "on the mean streets of Preston" - in underground wrestling and bare-knuckle fights, with people betting money on the outcome.

Lasting around one and a half minutes, the package included several close-up shots of punches and kicks to the head and chest in slow motion, with one competitor getting a bloody bruise on their chest.

The voiceover said: "Where I come from, the grim realities of life smack you in the face at every turn. An onslaught of fury is the only way to survive. I am Wade Barrett and my barrage has just begun."

After being contacted by Ofcom, UK WWE broadcaster Sky said that the sequence was intended to portray Barrett "as a dark and dangerous character".

Sky said that WWE wrestling is "highly dramatic and pantomime", but accepted that the sequence depicted "real" fighting outside of the ring, and therefore it may not have been suitable for a Saturday morning, when it was likely that children were watching.

Ofcom agreed, saying: "The scene in question depicted bare-knuckle fighting in an underground setting, clearly distinguishing it from staged competitive wrestling that takes place in a ring with a referee.

"The dark, aggressive and realistic nature of this scene combined with close-up slow-motion punches and kicks to the head and chest with powerful sound effects to underscore the impacts to make the material, in Ofcom's view, clearly unsuitable for children."

Sky apologised for the distress caused and said that it would review its guidelines for ensuring the compliance of WWE material broadcast on Sky1 in the future.

The company has also contacted the makers of WWE and advised them to avoid producing scenes that feature "real" fighting.

WWE has announced that Paul Bearer, real name William Moody, passed away earlier Tuesday evening, March 5th.

Moody, born on April 10th 1954, was better known as a professional wrestler and manager, working under the names Paul Bearer and Percival Pringle III. He was known for his time in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) and World Wrestling Federation, where he most famously began managing the Undertaker in 1991. No reports as to what caused his death have been released.

WWE posted the following statement on their website:

"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.

Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans."

The son of professional wrestler Ric Flair was found dead in a SouthPark hotel room on Friday, police say.

Officers received a call at 10:35 a.m. about an unresponsive person in a hotel room at the Residence Inn on Piedmont Row Drive South. Richard Fliehr, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release.

Police say they found no evidence of foul play, but released no other details.

Like his father, Fliehr was a wrestler and performed under the ring name Reid Flair.

Ric Flair’s agent, Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment, issued a statement on Facebook: “We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric’s son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away… .”

“The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. Reid was … an incredible son, brother, friend, and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time.”

According to pro wrestling site PWinsider.com, Reid Flair had wrestled with his father prior to the elder Flair’s retirement, and had just returned from wrestling in Japan.

He fought well as an amateur and made his pro wrestling debut in 2008, fighting with his older brother David in a match at Vance High School.

But personal issues “sidetracked what was expected to be instant stardom” in the professional ranks, according to PWinsider.

He was twice found guilty in 2009 of driving while impaired, court records show. In one case, he was ordered to enroll in an inpatient substance abuse program in Tucson, Ariz.

He told the Observer in 2008 that being Ric Flair’s son had created opportunities for him, but added: “The scrutiny will be unbelievable.”

The death comes as Ric Flair struggles with a recent diagnosis of a blood clot in his leg. The 64-year-old was receiving treatment and resting at his Charlotte home.

The last tweet from Reid Flair’s Twitter account was posted Thursday. It read: “Two shows in Maryland this weekend… . Good #wrestling and even better times ahead.”

TNA taped tonight's episode of Impact Wrestling in Jonesboro, Arkansas last week. Here are full spoilers, thanks to Crissy:
* A contract signing with Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez kicks off the show. Their April 11th match ends up being 2 of 3 Falls and if Hernandez & Guerrero lose, they have to break up their team.

* Adam Pearce defeated Magno in a Gut Check match.

* Tara and Gail Kim beat Velvet Sky and Taryn Terrell. Joey Ryan was the referee. Tara hit him with a low blow after the match.

* Aces & 8s try to get AJ Styles to join them. D-Lo Brown gets a notice from the office saying he's fired. Kurt Angle interrupts with Magnus, Samoa Joe, Joseph Park and Eric Young.

* Hulk Hogan comes out and calls AJ to the ring. AJ came out with the Aces & 8s vest he was offered earlier. Hogan tries to talk AJ into helping TNA. James Storm interrupts and has words with AJ. Hogan makes Storm vs. Styles for the April 11th show.

* Petey Williams beat Sonjay Dutt and Mason Andrews to become the new X Division #1 contender.

* Devon, Doc, Knux, Wes Brisco and Garett Bischoff beat Kurt Angle, Magnus, Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Joseph Park in the main event.

* Bully Ray came out and talked about his Full Metal Mayhem match against Jeff Hardy on April 11th. Bully calls out Brooke Hogan and insults her. Bully gives her front row tickets to next week's Impact. She ends up slapping him and out comes Jeff Hardy. They brawl and a ladder and table is brought into the fight. They brawl some more and Hardy puts Bully through the table to end it.

Here are results for the upcoming "TNA X-Travaganza" PPV, courtesy of TNA Insider member Donald Ronaldo, who is reporting from the Impact Zone In Orlando, Florida.
The X Division X-scape Cage Match was first. Contestants were: Alex Silva, Matt Bentley, Lince Dorado, Sam Shaw, Christian York, Puma and Jimmy Rave. This match was done in the classical X-Division X-scape match style where the last two wrestlers still in the cage determine the winner by escaping the cage first. Christian York and Jimmy Rave were the last two in the cage. York escaped the cage for the win. This match had tons of crazy spots involving more than one person.

Doug Williams and Kid Kash defeated Rashad Cameron and Tony Nese when Doug Williams hit the Chaos Theory Suplex on Nese.

Chavo Guerrero defeated Robbie E. Robbie E cut a promo before the match saying that he is the greatest champion this division has ever had. Chavo comes out and says that The Guerreros created the Cruiserweight division which started the X-Division. He brings out a special guest referee Joseph Park. Guerrero wins with a Five Star Frog Splash.

Ultimate X Match Contestants are announced: Rubix, Kenny King, Mason Andrews and Zema Ion. They specifically announce a rule that the winner must have the X in his hand and have both feet touch the floor to be considered the winner.

Kenny King wins by technicality. Rubix unlatches the X, but King caught him as he fell and took the X from Rubix's hands and then dropped him to the floor. Because of the rule, King is declared the winner.

Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) defeated Petey Williams and Sonjay Dutt with Daniels getting the pin via the Best Moonsault Ever. After the match, Bad Influence attacked Sonjay and Kazarian accidentally hit Daniels. Petey Williams jumped back in the ring and hit the Canadian Destroyer on Kazarian.

Rob Van Dam defeated Jerry Lynn in a hardcore match. Match of the night. Tables and chairs were used in some spots. RVD pinned Lynn after hitting the Five Star Frog Splash. After the match, they embraced and all of the wrestlers that were backstage came out and clapped for Lynn.

Austin Aries defeated Samoa Joe. Another great match. Lots of back and fourth action. Joe was about to finish Aries with a muscle buster, but Aries squirmed out and does a quick roll up on Joe for the win.

Christian York and James Storm defeated Crimson and Gunner. Storm and York cut a promo on each other after the match.

Mr. Anderson and Jessie Godderz defeated Kid Kash and Doug Williams. Anderson and Godderz had real friction early on. After some early exchanges, Anderson hits Godderz with the Mic Check and then pinned Kash for the win.

Samoa Joe and Daniels defeated RVD and Chavo Guerrero after Joe countered RVD's frog splash and gave RVD a muscle buster finisher.

Joseph Park and Bobby Roode defeated Robbie E and Zema Ion after Park turned on his 'Abyss mode' and cleans house. Roode tagged back in and covered Zema Ion.

D.O.C. and Devon defeated Hernandez and Alex Silva. Devon and D.O.C.and are elated that they were picked. D.O.C. pins Silva after giving him a chokeslam

Matt Morgan and Robbie T. defeated Al Snow and Joey Ryan. Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan refused to wrestle against each other throughout the match. After Rob Terry and Al Snow wrestled for a few minutes, they realized that they had to force Morgan and Ryan to wrestle. Joey Ryan was tagged in and he began attacking his own partner, Al Snow. Then Morgan tagged in and nailed Snow with the Carbon Footprint.

The winning teams are all part of the gauntlet match. This pay per view is more confusing than the king of the mountain match.

The second half was a free for all battle royal style match. Here is how I can remember the wrestlers being eliminated. Joseph Park, D.O.C, Jessie Godderz, Daniels, Robbie T, Samoa Joe, Ken Anderson, Christian York, Morgan. Both Devon and Storm are on the apron fighting. Mike Knox comes out to help Devon and goes to attack James Storm but he accidentally helps Storm eliminate Devon. As storm is on the ropes eyeing the elimination of Devon, Roode sneaks up and tries to eliminate Storm while he was holding on to the ropes from the outside apron. Storm counters and manages to get back into the ring and nails Roode with a superkick for the win. Storm wins $100,000.

The second half of the tournament was way better than the first half.
