Count on a renewed big time push for The Miz, as WrestleZone has learned exclusively Mike Mizanin really scored a lot of points with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon over the past week.

"Vince really liked Miz's promo last week on Raw, which sold SummerSlam even though Miz didn't have an opponent named," a key WWE insider informed WrestleZone, "and Vince thought Miz came across as a top heel at SummerSlam."

For those of you looking for answers to the Nash/Punk/HHH/Steph/etc. storyline, you clearly didn't get them on tonight's edition of Raw. The story I'm getting is that it was very chaotic backstage at Raw tonight and decisions weren't made until last minute.

One source told me that the CM Punk/Kevin Nash promo was very unscripted. "Those two were working without a net out there," the source said, "and the jabs they took at each other were not planned beforehand."

The lack of resolve in the "Who texted Kevin Nash?" story is because WWE still hasn't solidified the direction they're going to take yet. "They have five ways they can go with this thing," said a WWE writer, "and it's still unclear which one they're going to choose." As I reported yesterday, WWE never intended on Del Rio to be the one who "hired" Kevin Nash. The obvious options now are Triple H, Stephanie, Johnny Ace and Vince, but WWE has proven that they don't always go with the clear choice with things like this, so no one will ever know for sure until it's finally in the books.

There's still no word on Kevin Nash's contract situation and whether he's agreed to (or even been offered) a new deal now that he's back on television. Kevin Nash is currently signed to a "Legends" contract. I would imagine something new will be worked out very soon as tonight's Raw was a very good indication that he's not going anywhere anytime soon. I've received a few emails about Nash being booked on some future independent shows and while he may or may not pull out of those, there have not been reports of him doing so yet.

Bo Rotunda beat Joey Ryan with a run-off-the-ropes bulldogs. Short but fun match. The crowd got into it after a little bit.

Wade Barrett beat Trent Barreta with The Wasteland after reversing a hurricanrana. Trent did his twisting splash spot off guard rails. The finish was really cool looking.

Brodus Clay squashed Jose Varges with his high cross body. Fast and brutal.

Teddy Long and Randy Orton come out. Randy says he's ready to start anew and move on after the Christian stuff. Teddy says that's great because there's a 20 man battle royal to determine the new #1 contender.
Cody and Ted Jr come out and says its a Legacy reunion. Cody says he isn't content with IC Title and he'll win the battle royal. Cody gives mic to Ted, who starts to say that Legacy knows all of Randy's weaknesses and...RKO! Cody backs out of ring. Randy leaves.

Cody gets back in ring and yells at Teddy Long to do something about this action. Teddy says he'll set up Cody vs Zeke next.

Cody vs Zeke for IC title. Cody wins clean with Cross Rhodes and jumping kick after kicking the stairs into Zeke's legs to weaken him.

Ryder and Teddy Promo. Ryder invited Alberto Del Rio to Zackdown at Teddy's request. But Teddy thought that'd be Punk or Cena, not Del Rio. Aksana came in and flirted with Teddy. She said they knew why they call him Teddy but asked why they called him Long.

Justin Gabriel beat Tyson Kidd with 450. Fun match.

Jinder Mahall and The Great Khali promo. Khali says he'll win battle royal. Jinder gets mad at him and says no he will win.

Alberto Del Rio promo. Says it's his 1 year anniversary. He said one year ago he beat Rey and one year later he beat him again. He says that in that year he' s become a fan favorite with all of us. (Huge Boos.) He challenges anyone to face him. Daniel Bryan comes out and says Del Rio isn't special because Del Rio cashed in like everybody else. Bryan says he'll cash in his briefcase honorably. Note: he meant at WrestleMania, not here.

AWESOME long match. Del Rio won, after some great Daniel Bryan near falls, with a suplex into the arm bar. Hot crowd for this. After, Del Rio continues the beat down and Sin Cara makes the save, ending with a big dive to outside.

Mark Henry promo. Says he killed Sheamus and now he's pissed he has to be in battle royal for a title shot. Said he sees battle royal as a boat, 19 of the 20 men are going over and they all gonna sink.

HHH tries to hand it to Ricardo, who says he's not holding it because he does work for HHH. "Oh that's right", pedigree. Del Rio runs.

Kelly Kelly and AJ vs Natalya and Alicia Fox. Kelly pins Fox with the K2. Not much to this. After, Natalya and Fox argued, leading to a Natalya cheap shot and Sharp Shooter on outside.

Sheamus and Orton vs Del Rio and Christian. Orton pinned Christian after they were left alone with a RKO in about 8 minutes.

Syfy and WWE announced yesterday its first ever WWE Smackdown live special, SuperSmackdown Live, on Tuesday, August 30 at 8-10PM/ET on Syfy, originating from the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

The reason for the schedule change is because the original September 2 air date falls on Labor Day weekend. Officials are anticipating a poor rating for that day and therefore the show will air three days earlier.

This is similar to WWE airing SmackDown! live on the USA Network on a weekend when the usual SyFy rating was expected to be down because of the holidays.

-- Kevin Nash will be at RAW this Monday and he is expected to be a regular character going forward. He will be doing a program with CM Punk which will culminate in the two meeting in the ring. This is supposed to give Punk a major name to work with that would put him over.

-- Nash did not get a big reaction coming out on RAW, and the general feeling backstage is that WWE needed to do a better job explaining to the current generation of fans who he was. This was originally not a concern because of the much bigger reaction Nash got at the Royal Rumble.

-- The backstage reactions to the back and forth between Kevin Nash and CM Punk were that Punk got the better of Nash and that Nash's comments came off as too inside.

-- As noted earlier, WWE had instructed Nash to dye his hair black, but it may have already been dyed for his role in the Rock of Ages, where he plays Tom Cruise's bodyguard.

-- Nash was able to get a verbal shot in on TNA during the back-and-forth with CM Punk. He stated that Punk looked like "a short order cook in a Pikeville Waffle House," which was a shot at Pikeville, Kentucky, one of TNA's best house show markets. Nash always hated being on the promotion's house shows and was never happy to be booked on them.

TMZ.com is reporting that Matt Hardy was arrested in North Carolina this afternoon for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

According to the report, Hardy was arrested and charged with DWI by a state highway patrol trooper after his 2009 Corvette ran off a road and hit a tree. The trooper stated that he saw signs of impairment, which led to the arrest. No other contraband was found in the vehicle.

Hardy was by himself and did not suffer any injuries. He submitted a blood test and was released at around 7 pm ET. The results of the blood test are pending.

Following his DWI arrest from earlier this evening, TMZ is reporting that TNA has decided to part ways with Matt Hardy, who had only been with the organization for a little over seven months.

"TNA today released Impact Wrestling star Matt Hardy from its roster," a TNA representative told the site. "Hardy was already under suspension from the company."

Following his arrest Saturday in North Carolina for driving while intoxicated, Matt Hardy has been released from his contract with TNA Wrestling.

In a statement released to TMZ.com, an unnamed TNA spokesperson stated, "TNA today released Impact Wrestling star Matt Hardy from its roster. Hardy was already under suspension from the company."

According to sources within TNA, plans were in place for Matt and Jeff Hardy to return to television in October. Jeff's status with the company remains unchanged since TNA will be releasing a slew of merchandise in the fall bearing his name including a video title.

Hardy joined TNA last January after being released by WWE in October 2010 following a series of events that caused him to be sent home from a company tour of Europe. Hardy walked out of a SmackDown live event on September 5, 2010 after officials voiced concern over his condition. During the subsequent weekend's European tour, Hardy's condition caused the organization to act. When the story broke online, Hardy responded with a rambling video claiming it was untrue because he was still in Europe. WWE, however, confirmed to NewsDay.com on September 12, 2010 that he had been sent home. He never wrestled for the organization again and was released from his contract a few weeks later.

Hardy stated last week on Twitter that his time away from the ring has been a blessing in disguise as it allowed him to completely clean up his life. He added Friday, "It's time for me to get back to a healthy, happy place, the transformation his now started for me, for us-(New Chapter Will begin new)"

Shane Helms has posted several messages on Twitter in defense of his longtime friend, Matt Hardy. He has directed numerous obscenity laced messages to users who disagree with him and also attacked TMZ.com for breaking the news of Hardy's arrest.

"TMZ, a site that profits off the mistakes and downfalls of human beings. How proud they must be. What a bunch of maggots," he wrote. Uhm, didn't the dude crash his car and get a DWI, Shane?!

Hardy's girlfriend, Reby Sky, has also reacted to Hardy's unfortunate twist of fate. She wrote on Twitter, "It hurts to see anyone I love hurt in any way but I have faith that all will be ok. Regardless of what happens. Thanks for the support."

Hardy's contract with TNA Wrestling was subsequently terminated following his arrest. He hinted on YouTube that a return to WWE could be in the cards.

In response to a remark that he should return to WWE, Hardy wrote, "You are exactly right my lovely. It's time for the original Matt Hardy? to appear once again!"

They really need to make more effort with SmackDown, it's not as interesting as RAW and I would have thought they would want both shows to be equal as fans go to watch.

Have to admit a rivalry of Mark Henry and Orton for the WHC does seem dull, however i'll see if they pleasantly surprise.
