One thing that Triple H has done which Johnny Ace never did is implement an unofficial scouting system through his pals. Waltman, Nash, Regal (who watches everything), Saturn, DDP and a load of others on the indy scene report back to him. Seems no coincidence that as soon as Nash got back into WWE they suddenly became interested in Shelley. Waltman's worked with Generico as well, so maybe he has something to do with this. I think I read that Waltman was responsible for Damien Sandow getting called up to the main roster because he went to FCW and thought he was the business.

There's been a lot of speculation as to why Alberto Del Rio was made World Heavyweight Champion, but the real story behind the scenes is that Big Show could not come to terms with WWE on a new contract. Since Big Show's contract was running out, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon made the decision to crown Del Rio the new champion. At the time of the taping in Miami, that was actually considered potentially to be Big Show's last match in WWE. Later in the week, the company and Big Show came to terms, and he hasn't missed any shows.

We heard from one source on the writing team that the company was very angry the negotiations went all the way to the breaking point, but now that Del Rio has been crowned champion "the plans have changed, as Del Rio is the focus of the show going forward."

Was wondering what was going on with that.

I've been to 3 WWE house shows (2 smackdown and 1 RAW) and now I've also seen TNA, I can safely say TNA absolutely owns WWE in live shows, it was magnificent from start to finish....all action packed matches....a tables match, a cage match, a drunken irish guy jumping the barricade.... Dixie carter asking us to look for head securitys phone. Getting a picture with Dixie in the arena for free. RVD chanting 'I'm the whole ****in show. Everyone chanting Seamus at Magnus. Chavo guerrero doing the 3 amigos and then a frog splash. Gail Kim's snatch. It was perfect.... also Kurt angle and sting teaming together for the cage match was epic. And Bully Ray slamming Magnus through a table and then giving Dixie wood.....

TNA house shows are an interesting experience. It's by and large a much better product that the TV show because the talent are getting to have these kick ass matches in front of an actual paying crowd of loud, passionate fans.

I love their house show sizes too. Smaller than WWE but bigger than indie. It's got a very cool grunge rock atmosphere about it.

According to PWInsider.com, Brock Lesnar has signed a new, two year deal with WWE that will see Lesnar remain under contract with the company through WrestleMania 31.

As we reported earlier, Chris Jericho was interviewed for WWE.com following his Royal Rumble return, and he noted that he'd been re-hired by the company.

In an update to this story, PWInsider.com is reporting that Jericho quietly signed a new deal with WWE shortly before the Rumble PPV and it is expected to last through WrestleMania 29.

Talks between WWE and Jericho reportedly began back when the company reached out to him to be a part of Raw's 20th anniversary show.

WZ has learned there's been a lot of discussion that WWE would have a custom designed title belt for The Rock to debut tonight as WWE Champion.

We're told there is no guarantee this will take place, but there were drawings and designs for a custom title for The Rock, similar to how Stone Cold had a custom "Smoking Skull" belt during his title reign.

The belief amongst those who are in the know of the new title design is that The Rock would logically debut it the first night of his title run, however it's possible he will continue using the spinner version of the title.
