That was the best the Brannings have been for a long time

But from it I can see why Lauren and Abi (probably Max too) are leaving as the family itself is so tired after all these years and need a break

Poor vulnerable Stacey, but I'm glad she was mature enough to know Lauren was essentially right. Max and Stacey's affair led to everything.

Although, I blame Max more than anything, as he had a long and disgusting history of affairs and Stacey was a vulnerable 18 year old he took advantage of IMO.

Christmas Eve:
With Max’s life in pieces, Stacey reaches out to help. Karen tries to get to the bottom of the stolen phones. Aidan puts Mick in a dangerous situation.

Christmas Day:
It’s Christmas Day in Albert Square and things are set to explode in catastrophic style for Max. Mick and Linda prepare for their vow renewal, but Mick’s Day is thrown in to turmoil when Aidan plays a dangerous game.

Boxing Day:
As the full horror of what has happened unfolds, it is clear life will never be the same for the Branning’s again.

Thursday 28th December Episode One:
With everyone in shock over recent events, the residents of Walford struggle to get back to normal. Kathy receives an unwelcome visitor. Karen’s financial situation forces her to reach out to her sister.

Thursday 28th December Episode Two:
Fi takes maters in to her own hands. The Carters remain hell-bent in securing their future. Bernadette pleads with Kandice for help.

Friday 29th December:
Aidan puts the final pieces for his big job in place, leaving everybody involved on edge. Mick is faced with a big decision.

Monday 1st January:
It’s the day of Aidan’s job and those involved wait anxiously to put their plan in to action. With tensions high among the group, is the plan foolproof as Aidan promises?
The Ahmed’s arrive in Albert Square.

Tuesday 2nd January:
The Ahmed’s adjust to life in Walford. Linda fears for what is ahead. The fallout from Aidan’s job continues.

Wednesday 3rd January:
Questions begin to get asked of those involved of Aidan’s job.

Thursday 4th January:
Pressure is at an all time high for those involved in Aidan’s job.

I do hope the mystery of Aidan's scheme doesn't drag on too long.

But looking good.

It's just reminded me of Masood's return, where's he gone?

Because she quit her job at the Minute Mart, refused to apply for jobs, refused any help and then, finally decided to claim benefits only to be told she had to wait a few weeks because she'd voluntarily left her job. It was so very silly.

MESS.

He's been involved in the Weyland revenge scheme which has resulted in the Carters being conned out of the Vic.... you know probably the only family who have had sod all to do with Willmott-Brown or the Lucy story and they're the ones being knocked down for reasons only SOC knows.

All it needs now is his new storylines to come through, although the Aidan plot is his I imagine.

Even with better scripting, the Weyland/Max saga is TRIPE.

Storyline wise though, Lauren is pretty spent so will benefit from the break.

Just think she could make a big return in a few years when her kid is older and she doesn't have a baby hanging off her hip to then have some fresh stories.

But even better, thanks to having a baby with Peter, her character is no longer solely dependant on being a Branning. She can return even if none of them are around thanks to the Beale's being family now too.

I'm expecting something pretty ****ed up to happen considering we're getting a lot of "something is gonna happen which will change the brannings forever" talk. The latest from Jackie today is -

According to DS there are more Max "twists" tonight concerning Jack.

Which likely means Jack finally finds out he was responsible for getting in touch with Charlie and maybe for disposing of Roxy's drugs.

This'll be where he ends up on Stacey's couch just in time for Christmas.

I'm living for these classic Christmas eppys, finally watched the 1986 one, it was good.. I guess it would of been better to watch it whilst it was on TV as times were a lot different back then. The acting and Chemistry between Den and Angie was great. Angie is so fierce! Also Pat

Those opening titles sounded like a dying clock though, glad they improved it over the years. I just started the Grant and Tiffany four part one and can recognize more people. Ricky and Bianca drama already and I'm barely 10 minutes in

Tina's sexuality would've made an interesting story about how she's questioning herself after being so certain of her sexuality (in the opposite way to how it's normally told). Shows that sexuality is fluid and not always one thing or the other. But they haven't really done anything with it.
