I mean it was good and the ending was shocking but there was a hell of a lot in there that seemed like it was put in just for the trailer. Like all the Phil stuff was pointless.

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has spoken out about the Branning sisters' jaw-dropping Christmas Day twist for the first time.
The show's hour-long festive special ended with Lauren and Abi Branning falling from the roof of the Queen Vic while trying to talk down their father Max, who was preparing to jump.
EastEnders hasn't yet confirmed whether Lauren and Abi have been killed off, but it's no secret that both characters are leaving the show.
Discussing the top-secret twist, Jacqueline laughed: "When you're leaving, you're like: 'Well it better be Christmas Day, come on! I better be falling off The Vic!'
"You don't want the taxi ending – you want it to be big, to be huge, for everyone to be speaking about it. Obviously it's going to be one that everyone remembers. I'm absolutely buzzing about it."
Abi and Lauren Branning argue in EastEnders
© BBC
Jacqueline and her on-screen sister Lorna Fitzgerald, who plays Abi, did their own stunt work for the episode. Unsurprisingly, they didn't really fall from the top of the Queen Vic, but they did drop from a 10 foot platform onto some boxes below.
Jacqueline continued: "Filming the scenes was freezing cold, as it was two in the morning! Lorna was not scared at all. But in fairness, she could see where she was falling and I was falling backwards! I didn't know what was going on!"
Jake Wood, who plays Max, added: "They built a platform and they had to fall off the back of the roof onto some boxes. I wouldn't have done it, so they were very brave!"
EastEnders continues on Boxing Day at 7.30pm on BBC One.

The episode was really good but Tanya driving off with Abi and Lauren with Max standing in the rain on his own would’ve been poignant enough
Would've been good with Julia's Theme

The showdown in the Square with Max running upto the Vic Roof as the police close in. Lauren and Abi try to talk him down, Lauren falls and Abi tries to rescue her but they both go off the roof. One of them dies and Max is sectioned
Mess at them remaking the Mitchells death
The police didn't close in tho

Pity there's no place for her in it now what with all her kids going/gone.

Glad to see the best episode win the soap ratings. Top 5 out of all shows is great for them too. Hopefully the episode gets them more viewers in the future and back in the running for awards and give Emmerdale competition, because Eastenders is back how it use to be before soc ruined it.

It's had a pretty woeful 2 years. I'm not surprised. I'm actually surprised it's nearly double Emmerdale and 1.5 million people ahead of EastEnders.
Emmerdale was a pretty weird episode but in its defence ITV aired it way before anybody was sitting down for Christmas telly.

I was expecting around 7 million tbf but i guess people didn’t watch live tv and probably watched it on catch up so it probably be higher if they count that. Christmas ratings use to be over 10 million and now the most watched show was around 8 million which was the queens speech not even mrs browns boys got higher. So really Eastenders did good
Did Victoria do much better than EE?
And I want to know what Call the Midwife did against Corrie

I was SHAKING from the moment Tanya returned to the girls falling off the roof
Tanya was brilliant and the star of the episode
I'm so disappointed in the writers that they've just undone all the work on Stacey's character and regressed her to whatever that was last night, at least she seen sense in the end but she doesn't deserve Martin
The whole episode felt like a swansong for Max so the girls falling at the end instead of him felt out of place and obviously done for shock factor, it should've been Max!

I guess stacey and max still had a connection and spark and never really cut all ties like Max and Tanya did. I find it iconic christmas was a branning episode just like 2007  Tanya ruining Max and Stacey’s 10 years later after they ruined hers. I’m still shook now and praying Lauren survives.
