I only started watching EE in like 06/07 properly (because before that obviously I was too young) but Diederick Santer's EE was my favourite show when I was younger and is soooo nostalgic for me when I look back. It's never been the same show for me since he left.

Yup. It's been on a steady decline since 2002 but it's had late Brookie vibes this whole decade.

I think up until 2010 it was quite consistent. Not perfect but still eastenders. This last two years especially is actually worse than Kirkwood imo.

The ambulance was already on it's way, but the traffic had to clear first. Hence the helicopter. Then once the traffic cleared, Johnny was taken to hospital.

Steven was the definition of going in circles. Showing up in Ian's life, almost killing Jane, telling terrible lies because he couldn't keep a partner.

He's done that three times alone.

I'd have liked to see what they could have done with Steven with someone competent as a producer. It annoys me that they never really touched on his sexuality and that he essentially became another poor representation of bisexuality in soaps.

It's ****ed. I didn't think a producer could do more damage to a show than Kirkwood did but SOC has made his era look like the show was perfect back then. It's gong to take a LONG time for Eastenders to recover from what SOC has done to the show.
