But does she know the story? she might believe him then find the truth out
He went to jail on two different occasions for two different rapes. She'd be a very silly girl.

Well that could be said of any producer.
But the tell tale sign for me is the randomness of the exit which either means it's temporary or actor led.
Because her exit is nonsense in the context of the Weyland plot.

The general consensus is that Mel will be brought back to be either Phil Mitchell or Jack Branning's trophy wife so JY can get Sharon away from Phil.

The Steve/Matthew/Saskia story ran from 1998, along with Tiffany's final storyline resulting in her death and Grant's exit in 99.
Then Who Shot Phil continued and led into Lisa fleeing to Portugal in 2002, Steve and Mel's exits. So I'll keep 98-02 ta. :hee:

This doesn't make sense though.
Phil and Mel had a brief fling but they've never pined for each other, particularly not a relationship.
And what a waste if they do shove her there.

Kat/Zoe/Anthony and Spencer were the major lows of 2002 and the first one got way too much screentime. 2001, 2005 and 2003 are the best years of the 00s. Then 2002 (for me).

Outside of the Chrissie plot, 2005 had a lot of rubbish imo.
2005’s one of those years that had one class A story and all the other stuff played a secondary role. 2001’s an example of an even-keel year but the best of 2005’s up there with some of the best work they’ve ever done.
I hated Molfie, France week, Keith’s illiteracy, Juley/Ruby, Sonia/Naomi and Joe Macer though. It’s not a perfect year by any stretch, you won’t get any arguments from anyone there.

"She wasn't supposed to tell us but obviously she did," Amanda admitted. "We had massive discussions about it but there was no doubt that she was going to go back but it was exciting hearing how and why and who else is going to be in it with her. And the script! Gosh!"
Amanda just can't keep her gob shut!
So, we can expect 98-02 era characters to return with her. Maybe her brother, Lisa?
Or her new husband/family are played by well known actors.

This is what I'm convinced of.
He was 8 months too late to save R&R. :(
And it fits in with Laurie Brett being named as one of the people not getting along with him, maybe she disagreed about being killed off or whatever, then we had weeks where Steven's death was barely acknowledged and Laurie was off screen. Before coming back for two weeks to play out her changed exit story.

I'm sure the bus crash, car crash, fire, explosion, random shooting, murder and the ridiculously intelligence-free revenge plot have brought EastEnders into an era of reality and considerably less death.
"I don't like murderers, so we're going to kill Ronnie and turn Max into one".

The BBC has conducted an investigation after a script for EastEnders' Christmas special was reportedly stolen and offered to a journalist.
MailOnline claims that a temporary worker for the BBC approached the publication in an attempt to sell the script and all of the spoilers inside for £4,000.
The worker met up with MailOnline in north London, where he shared that the script reveals what happens to Abi and Lauren Branning, describing it as a "really dramatic ending".
Does that mean at least 1 dies?

Tina has slept with Billy before. :nono:
Her being a crappy lesbian isn't new.
I'm more offended that Janet was used as the tool to force Billy into her bed, an obvious Honey/Billy split to push Honey towards Jack.
Did she? When? In her first stint way back when?
And also please tell me Billy didn't sleep with Tina after he found out it was her that ran Janet over?

Former EastEnders star Rita Simons has been speaking out about Roxy Mitchell's shock exit again, admitting that she feels relieved her character was killed off.
The actress played Roxy for nearly 10 years before she died on New Year's Day along with her sister Ronnie in a grisly swimming pool accident.
Rita has since said that she found watching her alter ego's death "really traumatic", and was "gutted" to have the door closed so finally, but she's now at peace with the fact Roxy has gone forever.
"There's a strange sense of relief," she said to The Guide. "The finality of it all makes it much easier to go, 'Right, what's coming up? What am I doing next?' And move on.
"I think a lot of [actors] who either died off-screen or didn't die at all spend the rest of their lives wondering if they'll go back, should they go back?
"This way it's much cleaner. 'And it is time to move on. That's exactly what I'm doing, and I'm loving it."

EASTENDERS favourite Ian Beale faces being killed off in an explosive Christmas storyline.
Max Branning vows to murder him in revenge for being framed and jailed over the death of Lucy Beale.
BBC bosses are convinced the dramatic plot surrounding actor Adam Woodyatt — the soap’s longest-serving cast member — will be a huge ratings smash.
A source said yesterday: “Max becomes obsessed with revenge and that means wanting rid of Ian — but this time for good.
“It’s a classic old-school storyline that will leave the viewers on the edge of their seats.
“Ian has been top of Max’s list since he came out of prison.
“In the run up to Christmas Max is a man on the edge and takes matters in his own hands when he tries to kill Ian.
“How Max will try to finish him off is not clear yet, but the episodes are set to be gripping.”
Millions of fans tuned in for the whodunnit after Lucy Beale, played by Hetti Bywater, was killed in 2015.
Max, played by Jake Wood, 45, became a suspect after it emerged he had been having an affair with Lucy.
The storyline shows how Max's state of mind fixates on murdering Ian
He was wrongly jailed for her murder in 2015, despite Ian knowing that Lucy was actually killed by her brother Bobby.
After he was freed from prison Max returned to Albert Square last Christmas Eve hell-bent on getting revenge.
The long-running storyline is set to gather pace over the coming month as the state of Max’s mind deteriorates and he becomes fixated with murdering Ian.
Adam Woodyatt, 49, is the soap’s longest-serving actor, having played Ian since the first episode in February 1985.https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/4843592/eastenders-ian-beale-max-branning-christmas-storyline/

Mess. It just shows how epic the entire storyline could have been.
If they'd have even focussed more on Max on a character level (such as the self harm we got ONE scene of in January) and how just under a year in prison for allegedly murdering a young girl had affected him and his mental wellbeing.
But no, we got repetitive tripe and badly written hustling followed by the most ridiculous "stunt" whereby Max kills Steven. Awful.

I love that though. I remember before DTC started thinking wow, what happened to those epic storylines that would then lead onto the next one so it was like one big arc as opposed to stopping and starting with little sh*tty plots in 2011-2013.
Then DTC went and delivered the epic plot of the century. :clap1:
