The character as he stands today is exhausted and I don't know why DTC decided to bring him back when he did in 2014 either.

The same for Abi and, especially Lauren, they're characters that may hold some interest to be revisited in a few years. But, for today, they're spent.

I don't agree tbh, he's actually made the character of Ben likable, which is an achievment considering the mess that the character when Pascoe played him. Different strokes I guess.
