Apparently the T-Shirt that was onsale was a one night only type deal with the show date on it so in no way is it the confirmation that Punk is staying that I thought it was.

After Money in the Bank went off the air, Vince McMahon stood in the ring shocked over CM Punk leaving the arena with the WWE Championship before eventually walking off. He stopped to wait on John Laurinaitis, who was clocked in the face earlier by John Cena as he stormed ringside to attempt a "Montreal-esque Chicago Screwjob." Officials helped Laurinaitis to the back but McMahon laid him out with a right hand and walked off.

The official WWE website stated following Money in the Bank that as a result of John Cena's loss to CM Punk at the pay-per-view event, he has 'presumably' been fired.

Their article on the WWE Championship Match reads: "He opened a black hole in the WWE Universe, seizing the WWE Championship in his hometown within his final hours as a contracted employee of Vince McMahon, sufficiently embarrassing The WWE Chairman and conquering a presumably fired John Cena, "The Champ." Of course, we'll have a follow-up on RAW tonight.

When a PPV delivers, especially the main event, & then the show goes off the air w/ more questions than answers I'd say that's a good nite.

From start to finish, MITB arguably was the best wrestling PPV of the year. Highly entertaining, great crowd & gutsy in ring work. Bravo.

Going to play devils advocate here. Vince Mcmahon is not a stupid man, been that the wrestling matches are pre-determined. Do we really think punk has managed to do a runner with the title. Me thinks no. If his contract was really running out he will have signed a new one and they have not let on. Thats if they where not blagging about that in the first place. Clearly if punks contract was about to run out without a new one been signed they would have just had cena win.

There is no way they will just allow punk to do a runner with the title. Obviously some sort of ploy to get cena storyline fired yet again for some reason.

CM PUNK beat John Cena for the WWE title at an astonishing Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

In front of a raucous crowd, Punk overcame Cena and survived a post match Money in the Bank 'cash-in' by Alberto Del Rio to keep possession of the belt.

It was professional wrestling at his finest.

WWE have received a lot of criticism in recent years but this was a flawless exercise in the booking, promotion and performance of a wrestling show.

The night started with a very good Smackdown version of the Money in the Bank ladder match.

The Chicago crowd loved Sheamus and the match was notable for good performances by Sin Cara, Cody Rhodes and Heath Slater.

But few would have predicted Daniel Bryan coming away from the match victorious.

It was a memorable moment, and a great way to inspire the crowd, who would become so important during the night.

WWE opted to put their two least anticipated matches next up.

Kelly Kelly mercifully beat Brie Bella in short order, before Mark Henry destroyed Big Show in a hard-hitting affair that was never pretty, but credit goes to the two big guys for working very hard.

The Raw Money in the Bank match was a shade below it's Smackdown equivalent, but it was still an entertaining encounter.

Highlights included Alex Riley and R-Truth pulling out rare over-the-rope dives, before Evan Bourne hit an Air Bourne on all his opponents from a very high ladder.

Eventually, it was the expected victor, Alberto Del Rio, who emerged with the briefcase, ripping Rey Mysterio's mask from his face in the process.

The world heavyweight title was on the line between Randy Orton and Christian, with the stipulation being that Christian would earn the belt should Orton be disqualified.

The pair have wrestled many times in 2011, but the storyline continues to be a quiet success, and Christian's character development was excellent here.

He goaded Orton into kicking him in the groin, drawing a DQ. Christian was declared the winner, and was consequently destroyed by Orton post match, with two RKOs on the announce table.

The interesting aspect was that the crowd were pro-Christian — who was supposed to be playing the heel — but when Orton initiated the bad guy beat down post match, they loved it.

And then it was main event time. First out was Punk, and the reception was astonishing.

Think Rock v Hogan at Wrestlemania 18. RVD v Cena at One Night Stand 2006. Or indeed any major match you have ever seen or cared about in history, and this was up there.

The match was methodical, played to both wrestlers strengths, and was beautifully paced.

At around the half hour mark, after several believable near falls, Vince McMahon emerged, accompanied by Director of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, who Punk namechecked a few weeks ago in his now infamous promo.

Attempting to play off of the Montreal Screwjob, Vince sent Laurinaitis to ring the bell when Cena had Punk prone, but Cena himself stopped this. The distraction allowed Punk to nail a GTS and win the belt, and send the crowd into raptures.

Vince wasn't done. Grabbing an announcers' headset, he called for Alberto Del Rio, who raced to the ring with his briefcase.

Punk hit him with a kick then ran away through the crowd. The show ended with Punk celebrating in the crowd, and Vince McMahon pondering what had just occurred.

With the expectation level of this PPV staggeringly high, it is in many ways incredible that the show delivered in such a way. It was an almost faultless show, full of excitement, emotion and great wrestling.

The follow up on Raw should be epic. Credit must go to Punk, Cena and all of WWE for putting together, seemingly out of nowhere, probably the most gripping angle in wrestling this century.

We award Money in the Bank 2011 a rating of 9.5 out of 10.

Tonight's edition of WWE Raw is being broadcast live from The Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. No matches have been announced for the show, but obviously it will center around CM Punk winning the title last night at Money in the Bank and the fallout thereafter.

It should be noted that the WWE website and the arena website are listing Punk to appear on the show, and given his title win yesterday, I would make a safe bet that he will be there live in some capacity.

The dark match main event is being listed as John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Big Show vs The Miz, R-Truth and Alberto Del Rio.

There was so many botches in that PPV.. Quality wise it wasn't the best but for storylines it was near enough perfect you can forgive all the botches for an ending like that.. Raw should be amazing tonight.

Of course we don't really think that. Nobody really thinks that. It's an amazingly well crafted storyline. Either Punk's signed a new contract and the story will continue, or Punk's genuinly gone and they will move on with a new champion.

It's hardly as if wrestling is real and Punk's kidnapped a black strap with a bit of gold on it. None of this is exactly an earth shattering revelation.

Derek Worley sent this one along: I was the one sitting 4th row back last night with the "Chicago Hates Cena" sign last night. However, the lady in front of me had signs that said Heath Slater, I love Big Show, and a few others....her signs were taken by the WWE employee, yet she was allowed to keep a Zack Ryder sign and a sign that said Gold Standard. Thought you might find that interesting.
