ROSSI HAPPY AT VILLARREAL

Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi has played down talk of a move to Juventus.

Speculation is rife in Italy that Rossi could be on his way to the Bianconeri in a deal that would see David Trezeguet head the other way.

The Italy forward admits it would be a "dream" to return to Serie A but he insists he will not push for a move away from Villarreal, where he is under contract until 2013.

"I've also heard about this possibility," Rossi told Tuttosport. "But I have a contract for several years with Villarreal, where I am rather happy.

"Of course, I confirm that my dream is to return to Italy, but it will have to be up to them to sell me.

"Now I have to and I want to remain focused on the Confederations Cup. I have to play my cards right."

Manchester United have first refusal on their former forward if Villarreal do decide to sell the 22-year-old.

Brazil coach Dunga has backed AC Milan's pursuit of Sao Paulo pair Hernanes and Joao Miranda.

"They want to sign Miranda and Hernanes?" said Dunga. "The first is a great defender. Plays with some authority and is quick. He cannot be beaten one against one. He has the quality that makes the difference.

"I have a soft spot for the second. He has the strength of Gattuso and the feet of Pirlo. Should be taken immediately."

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti wants AC Milan midfielder Rino Gattuso to join him at Stamford Bridge.

The Sun says Italian midfielder Gattuso, 31, is said to be disappointed at Ancelotti's exit from AC Milan and is considering Stamford Bridge.

Gattuso's agent Andrea D'Amico said: "The rapport between Gattuso and Ancelotti is very strong.

"He was deeply distressed by the decision to change the boss. Gattuso is very attached to Ancelotti the manager.

"Gennaro has the characteristics and the qualities needed to play in the English league."

Everton are set to make bids for St. Etienne's Blaise Matuidi and Rennes' Stephane M'Bia, according to Setanta Sports.

Reports suggest that the pair are set to become David Moyes' major summer signings, despite the Scotsman's limited transfer budget at Goodison Park.

Matuidi is a highly-rated defensive midfielder, and is widely regarded as one of the finest players of his generation, and could leave Les Verts for a fee of around £8 million.

M'Bia is likely to cost slightly more than that, with club side Rennes saying the Cameroonian midfielder can leave if the £10 million price tag is met.

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be big admirers of Matuidi, and the Toffees may find themselves in a bidding war against Spurs which would stretch their limited budget even further.

Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal have been reported as interested in acquiring M'Bia, with the 23-year-old said to be high on Gunners manager Arsene Wenger's summer shopping list.

Both players seem set to quit Ligue 1 for the Premier League in the summer, but with their destinations unknown as yet, the bidding will surely intensify as the summer draws on.

Both players are reportedly keen on a move to Goodison Park, with the main problem being the Toffees' lack of funds.

Burnley Football Club are not looking to sign Damien Duff this summer.

The former Blackburn Rovers winger has been linked with a return to the North West with the Premier League new-boys, who were said to be interested in the Newcastle United ace.

However, Duff’s advisor Pat Devlin has revealed that the Republic of Ireland international is not about to upset the Ewood Park faithful by joining their bitter rivals.

“He’s still under contract at Newcastle and that would be his first port of call," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I think someone's winding up the Burnley fans because he's a Blackburn fella."

Burnley boss Owen Coyle knows his team are favourites for a quick return to the Championship but the Clarets will not abandon their footballing principles.

"We hope we don’t get the same start (to the season) because we lost 4-1 on the opening day and then 3-0 the following week," Coyle told The Lancashire Telegraph. "But we’ll try to remain true to our principles, we’ll try to get the ball down and play, and play in the right way.

"When it comes about there’s no doubt it’s going to be difficult but it’s a challenge we’ll relish.

"I think we showed over the season that we love being the underdogs. Every game we enter next season, we’ll be the underdog for it, home and away."

We`re not sure if he`s the sort of striker we`d contemplate chasing after but the name of Mark Antoine-Fortune remains fairly prominent amongst those providing the transfer gossip this morning.

According to the Daily Star and the Daily Express, Fulham and Hull have merged as the most likely destinations for the striker who was on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season.

With the Midlands club being relegated it`s not sure if they intend to pursue their option to sign the forward, on a permanent basis, from AS Nancy.

The tabloids are adamant that his value is something in the region of £3 million which, in our opinion, seems a little steep for somebody who only scored five times, in nineteen appearances, for West Brom last season.

His record for AS Nancy is hardly impressive either with the striker having scored only ten goals in fifty three appearances.

Matters are further complicated due to the fact that West Brom have recently parted company with their manager with Tony Mowbary having agreed to join Glasgow Celtic.

We`ll keep you advised of any further developments.

Fulham want Middlesbrough's Gary O'Neil but must match Gareth Southgate's £4million valuation to sign the former Portsmouth midfielder.

Hull City Football Club have reportedly met the asking price for Marlon Harewood.

The powerful 29-year-old has fallen well down the pecking order at Aston Villa, and Martin O’Neill is prepared to let him leave this summer provided a £2million asking price is met.

And reports suggest the Tigers are willing to pay such a price for the former West Ham United ace, who they would ideally like to pair up with Manchester United’s Fraizer Campbell next season.

Harewood’s arrival would likely see the departure of Gabon hitman Daniel Cousin, who admits he would be interested in a lucrative move to the UAE.

The Sun reports that Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is close to a move to Villa Park. Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill needs to replace Gareth Barry and Jenas could fit the bill perfectly.

Inter manager Jose Mourinho has also been showing an interest in Jenas. A move to Inter could be a more risky affair with a harder fight for places in the team.

Jenas has earlier played for Newcastle and Nottingham Forest and has 20 full caps for England.

Aston Villa in new £6m bid to tempt Middlesbrough defender
June - 13 - 2009

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is still looking around for a suitable replacement for Martin Laursen at the heart of the Villa defence, and he is pretty keen on Middlesbrough’s David Wheater.

Gareth Southgate was hoping to unload many of the top earners at Boro, but with Stewart Downing suffering from a long term injury, he will not get his easy £12m that he expected, so he may have to consider letting Wheater go, despite his protestations that he is a vital part of his team.

O’Neill will go as high as £6m and offer Marlon Harewood as a sweetener to tempt Boro to sell the 22 year-old, and hopefully Wheater will help secure the defensive leaks that have occurred since Laursen got injured.

Curtis Davies was expected to take a more leading role, but he admitted that he just wasn’t up to the job. He said: “When Martin came out of the team people were looking at me a bit more to step up,”

“I guess I’m not the Martin Laursen character people have been looking for.

“It’s hard task to replace someone like Martin.”

ZIDANE: REAL WANT RIBERY

Zinedine Zidane says Real Madrid still want to sign Bayern Munich playmaker Franck Ribery.

Zidane, who now holds an advisory role at the Bernabeu, has long touted his fellow Frenchman as a possible new recruit for the Spanish giants.

Having already acquired the services of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, and with David Villa seemingly on his way, it was expected that Real would consider their attacking options fully stocked.

However, it appears that they could yet be prepared to splash out on another creative player.

Bayern have maintained that Ribery will only be sold if a 'crazy bid' were to be lodged, but their resolve could be tested should Real make a move.

Zidane has certainly not ruled out the possibility of the Spanish giants completing another high-profile swoop over the coming weeks, and believes Florentino Perez would be wise to bankroll such a deal.

"We really hope that he will sign," Zidane told radio station RMC.

"It would be superb news for the club.

"If he was to come over to Madrid I would be delighted to welcome him."

Philippe Senderos Keen On Arsenal Return
Despite recent reports that the Swiss defender wished to remain at the San Siro, the young defender could be set for a return to north London...
13 Jun 2009 19:20:12

Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is set for an unexpected return to the club following his loan spell at AC Milan, according to The Mirror.

The Swiss defender had gone on record as saying he was not interested in returning to Arsenal, but he is now reportedly favouring a move back to the club where he made his name.

The Gunners were reportedly ready to offload the 24-year-old this summer, with Milan ready to make a bid for the defender, but this does not seem to be the case anymore.

The Italian giants allegedly passed up the opportunity to sign him on a permanent deal, worth a reported £6.3 million, and now the centre-back is set for talks with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The Switzerland international spent the entire season on loan at the San Siro and was expected to complete a permanent move there, following Frenchman Mathieu Flamini, who swapped the Emirates Stadium for the San Siro last summer.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are reportedly close to concluding a deal to sign Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen, while Kolo Toure is apparently considering an offer from fellow Premier League side Manchester City.

Former captain William Gallas could also leave the club in the summer, with Juventus believed to be ready to bid for the France international.

Former captain William Gallas could also leave the club in the summer, with Juventus believed to be ready to bid for the France international. Great news, I never knew why we loaned him in the first place.

If The Right Offer Came Arsenal's Way, Should They Sell Gael Clichy

After snaring Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United for £80 million, Real Madrid now hope to add Arsenal's French left back Gael Clichy to their roster. Real Madrid are aiming to seriously redevelop their team with quality players and view Clichy as a target to improve their defence.

Clichy, who starred in the 2007-08 season, making it into the English Premier League team of the year, had a tentative, injury plagued 2008-09 season. The Frenchmen did happen to bag his first senior goal but he failed to make a big impact defensively, famously slipping to allow Jermaine Jenas to score a crucial goal in the 4-4 draw with Tottenham.

However, whether Arsenal would be willing to let him go is a matter of debate, as at 23 Clichy is one of the oldest members of the Arsenal team, and is one of its more experienced players, as along with Kolo Toure he is one of the last of the players to feature in the famous "Invincibles" side.

But if Real Madrid offered a generous amount, say 18 million pounds, for Clichy would it be wise to for Arsene Wenger to take the offer and use the money to stock up on quality defenders and midfielders which are perhaps more urgently required for this evolving Arsenal team?

Bearing in mind that hot prospect Kieran Gibbs filled in at left back sensationally in Clichy's absence, and despite his tender age is more than capable of filling in at the left flank and would grow with experience. Furthermore, the returning Armand Traore will add even more competition for places as his loan spell at Portsmouth is bound to have aided his development.

So if Madrid are willing to pay a big amount for Gael Clichy should the Gunners cash in?

No, i Think alongside possibly cole, Clichy is the best left back in the premier league, gibbs is good but as back up would be best.

as for traore i am not sure hes really good enough. If they offer 25m maybe.

Valencia definitely coming in from Wigan – their chairman has confirmed discussions for a couple of months and expects firm negotiations to start now CR deal confirmed.
SAF will have a serious go at getting Benzema & Ribery. If Ribery does move, it will be to Utd or Barca (not convinced by Real for some reason).
SAF will have the full £80m plus regulare funds to spend, if he wants it (he'll only spend if he can do the right deals at the right prices, not just because it's there). Club does have large debt but is also making record proffits & sevicing the debt just fine through normal income (where as L'pool have smaller debt, repayments have put them at financial loss for the year).

LIVERPOOL FANS

firstly the news of debt is just mist to try and make other clubs believe lfc have no money for BIG transfers so that THEY can act first as rafa wants to see what other clubs do. don't get me wrong we are in debt but we have the least amount of debt from the big4 and theyr coping fine also DIC have bought liverpool and they are teling rafa money isn't a issue so heres whats probably gona go down.

OUTS:

Babel ––––AJAX–––LOAN

Benayoun–––LOTS OF CLUBS WANT––PRICE UNKNOWN said to be at 10–12 mil

Alonso ––– Madrid–– over 20mil––

Arbeloa–– MAYBE

INS:

Silva

Martinez

Lorik Cana ––––(if alonso goes)8MIL

liverpool can easily afford them no problem and posibilites for LW as Arbeloa may leave rafa taking a liking to lorik cana so hes very likely to come if Alonso leaves liverpool seem to have given up on tevez

also to the rumour chelsea getin Villa 45mil HORSE **** its not gona hapen Villa does not lyk chelsea at all and stated that he will either to go Rafas liverpool or remain in the spanish league

my rumours come from credible people within LFC

i can bet my bottom pound that this is acurate but lets see fingers crosed

With Real Madrid making all these signings, Expect Rafael Van Der Vaart to be on his way, possible destination will be Arsenal and could get him on the cheap, around 8–9 million pounds but the only stumbling block would be his wages, possible wages of around £55,000 per week with bonuses etc. . if he can agree to this, lets be honest we need someone with a bit more exprerience in the M/F to partner Cesc.

Uefa and Fifa are tits! They are saying that the Ronaldo deal is good for the game.. Ok i agree it is, but if an English club spent £80m on one player then Uefa and Fifa would hate it and say it is bad for football and no level playing field.. Blah blah..
Uefa and Fifa hate England, they are Nazi scum!

Most votes to be evicted out, works same as bb, everybody in the game gives 2 noms and those with the most go up for the forum vote..
Any member in the forum can vote and 1 vote per member.. I hold the record for most votes.
