Well, prevention is always better than cure of course. Two pairs of socks and well fitting stout walking shoes will sort it out.

If you alrady have the offending condition, then I feel a plaster may assist in the short term, but as soon as you are dismissed to the barrack room, boots and socks off, soak the old plates in salty water (what's a bit of stinging between friends) then let the air get to them. Can't beat fresh air.

No whingeing though. We are made of sterner stuff than that!
