Morning, everyone. :wavey:

Good work yet again last night - especially Mairi for voluntarily undertaking an extra shift.

Now I'm back on active duty
My resolve is holding fast
My mission has only one goal
That Boris will not be last!

I WILL! :spin:

I think this is the maddest thread yet, and by golly it has had some competition over the last couple of years. I also see another old favourite the Cemeteries thread has re-emerged.

I often wonder what a lone surfer who stumbles across TiBB entirely by chance ever makes of it. So if you're out there lone surfer do tell us.

I WILL!

Oh Kaz, you are my unending support ( along with the 'night owl' troops of course).I know my strand is safe with you and that i WILL NOT be 'the last .

Just tell that Peachy not to worry about the 'Lone Surfer(s)'. He will no doubt have an 'e' Tonto as backup and 'Silver' the mouse to get him out of here. What it will do to his mind is another matter. But we will be OK knowing that all is well back home on 'the strand'.

Got to make my latest contribution to this truly fascinating thread:hugesmile::dance:

ROB - does the theory include "seeing the lights" and if so how long do they last?:love:

I've already started putting a little bit back each week for the Convention - couldnt miss that. As long as I have time to book my cheap train ticket I'm easy to please.

Who'll win that special prize
To be the last, that's a surprise
We all want to win, to be the one
This competition must be won
So carry on with gay abandon
We're sad and mad but it sure is fun

A two minute response time to Boris's last post is well within the acceptable timescale. Our dedication is paying dividends.

Just shows the importance of keeping alert and ready for action at all times.

Saved you Boris, that was close

Whew...thanks Amy.

They save her here,
They save her there,
They save our Boris ,
Everywhere.
She was so scared ,
She would be last,
But fear has gone,
It's past , it's past.

Boris knows you will not fail,
As round the clocks ,
Those hands do sail,
Your watchful eyes,
Miss not a trick
The minutes pass,
The seconds tick,
And Boris happy
In the thought
You won't be bribed,
You can't be bought.

The thread goes on,
It will not stop,
'Till our friend Mark
Gives it
'The Chop' !

Since this thread's my personal baby, blinkinlovely, I'll try to explain how it came about.

At the very beginning, Boris posted this:
I was horrified how many had my name as the last poster. It seems that a post from Boris is the 'kiss of Death' and the strand dies.
My response to her was:
Boris - I've made it a personal mission of mine that you WON'T be the last person to post on this thread!
I will! (unless anyone else thinks differently).
. . . . . . . and the rest, as you can see, is history!

Has this turned into the poetry thread?

Ok, here's one from me:-

Mum

The very first words I ever spoke
according to my mum
were 'brachial plexus bronchiolitis'
and then I sucked my thumb.

From thereon my mother thought
that I'd become a doctor
but I didn't fancy that
and my reluctance shocked 'er.

She's still convinced I meant to say
those multi-syllabic words
but I was only six weeks old
so find this quite absurd.

Don't get me wrong, I love my mum
but not her expectations
I'm happy in my dead end job
as Head of The United Nations

Attention, all! :xyxwave:

That's quite enough fraternising in the ranks, thank you. We can't be concentrating on our duties if we're passing 'sweet nothings' back and forward, can we? :nono:

Any more of that and I'll have you both polishing boots for a week.

We must stay on our guard
Our responses must be fast
The mission's very simple . . .
To ensure that Boris isn't last!

I am!!! :spin:

Lance Corporal Amy - don't you go trying to blame Lance Corporal Rachb . . . . . you have to stand up straight and take your punishment like a (wo)man.

No whining in the ranks! :nono:

Steve may be member of the day :hello:
But I WILL get my way
And when all is done and said
I'll be at the end of this thread.

Boris! Good to see you! :wavey:

Yes, I'm afraid there was a tiny bit of insubordination today, but fear not, I have it completely under control.

Lance Corporal Amy has apologised personally to me and has done 10 press-ups as a punishment. I think she's learned her lesson.

The mission WILL not fail.

Sorry Sticks - you seem to have become a tad confused. Boris is NOT the enemy, she is the shining light behind our mission . . . the very reason for our existence . . . . . that she WILL not be the last to post on this thread.

When asking about who the enemy was the guys mentioned a pack of playing cards with pictures of people on.

They were also on the lookout for incursions from hostile forums, known insurgents and anything that could result in Boris being the last poster on this thread.

The guys are having a well earned rest after patrols, before another round of night time sortees.

Sticks how could you think Boris was the enemy.

We have all to get behind her and give her all our support, cant let her feel unwanted.:nono::dazzler:

Sticks
24-04-2003, 01:23 PM
We never said she was.

The enemy consists of those who want to shut us down, against whom we must be vigilant

Plus the guys get a bit enthusiastic about their work. They have been decorated several times. They wanted to have a look for such nefarious characters as well as keeping watch to make sure Borris was not the last poster

We're all on duty to have some fun
While we stop dear Boris from being the one
To give the 'Kiss of Death' to this thread
